Watch Statik Selektah’s “Making The Beat” Video For “Bird’s Eye View”

(AllHipHop News) In the midst of all the media coverage for several high-profile Hip Hop projects that dropped this week, East Coast producer Statik Selektah released his 5th studio album Extended Play on Tuesday as well.

The 18-track LP features over two dozen different artists including Action Bronson, N.O.R.E., Mac Miller, Styles P, Bun B, and Talib Kweli. It also contains the song “Bird’s Eye View” featuring Raekwon, Joey Bada$$, and Black Thought.

In a brand new “making the beat” video Statik breaks down how he created the track for “Bird’s Eye View.” He talks about how the track was originally for an unreleased Nas remix, and how the featured rappers on the song recorded it in his closet.

Statik Selektah’s Extended Play is available for purchase in stores and online.

Hip-Hop Rumors: UPDATE: Was K-Foxx Fired And Who Will Replace Her?

All hell broke loose this morning! I broke them damn stories! RIP SNUPE! Jeez.

Anyway, before I get back to Lil Snupe, let me get at this K-Foxx rumor.

So, the drama unfurls more. Some people out there just don’t care about this but NY is on fire with the notion that K-Foxx may have been fired from her post. The unofficial official word from Hot 97 is that K-Fozx quit or is about to quit. I’ll get into that later.

But here is the new rumor. Rumor is Jas Fly is replacing her. Some like Bossip have suggested Ms. Drama. As I told you before, my source says the person will come from the VH1 show called “The Gossip Game.” Now, on “The Gossip Game,” these three people were friends. What do we have here? Ultimately, we don’t know but rumor has it there may be somebody that’s already employed by Hot 97 that will come in. Jas Fly is definitely fly and Ms. Drama brings the drama. I’m wondering if its all going to play out on the scripted reality show.

Emerging Rapper Jimme Wallstreet Shot and Killed Today in Philadelphia

Emerging rapper and songwriter James “Jimme Wallstreet” Davis was shot and killed today in Philadelphia, PA. A native of the city’s Germantown section, Jimme Wallstreet spent his early career under the tutelage of 50 Cent and the G-Unit Family. In the past year, he was signed to a production deal under DJ Don Cannon and was set to release an album under the deal’s terms.

Jimme most recently debuted an acclaimed mixtape entitled “Twin Towers” with Trenton rapper, Big Ooh. The two performed just this past weekend at a Stop the Violence Rally in Philadelphia, a city known for having one of the worst rates of gun violence in the country.

Jimme, a member of AllHipHop.com’s Breeding Ground Alumni, leaves behind his parents, six sisters, and a host of industry and neighborhood friends.

DJ Don Cannon sent his condolences on twitter today:

RIP Lil Snupe: Lil Snupe Ft. Curren$y “Tonight”

I  was speaking to my boy Propane (@Gpropane) today about Lil Snupe and how I thought he was dope and on the rise. I mentioned I had put a couple of his songs as #HeaterOfTheDay so I wanted to repost this track with Curren$y so people could remember him doing what he liked … music.

Hip-Hop Rumors: The Sad Way Lil Snupe Died

Damn. This kid was 18 years old and now he’s gone.

Well, I have some additional information on his death. Ain’t no since in sugar coating it. Lil Snupe was apparently playing some sort of game. I’ve heard it was either a video game or a dice game. And an altercation ensued and basically, he got shot three times in the chest and another time in the head.

EXCLUSIVE: DJ Smallz Reacts To Lil Snupe’s Death, “I Was With Snupe On Sunday”

(AllHipHop News) This morning a lot of Lil Snupe fans and supporters awoke to the grave news that the 18 year old protege of Meek Mill was dead.

DJ Smallz spoke exclusively to AllHipHop about his reaction to the news and even reveals that the two recently met up and extensively planned on working together for Snupe’s next mixtape RNIC 2 :

I couldnt believe the news I heard this morning when I got that text as soon as I woke up. It was crazy, I was just with snupe this past Sunday in Dallas, TX and we had discussed me hosting his upcoming project, “RNIC 2”. We went over the cover art, shot some viral, talked about the features he wanted and everything. The fact that he had just turned 18 less than a week ago was crazy. Snupe had so much potential and not only in his lyrics and his drive but also the emotion and pain in his voice. You can’t buy that. That was in him. That sh*t was real. S.I.P. Smoke In Peace bro. You were taken too soon and the game needed you.
