Hip-Hop Rumors: Is 50 Cent Talking Badly About Floyd Mayweather Again?

With friends like 50 Cent, who needs enemies? The rapper, who has previously claimed that boxer Floyd Mayweather was his best friend, was caught tweeting that his “best friend” was “not very bright.” 50 didn’t drop any names, but it’s common knowledge that he and Floyd have had a very recent falling out.

RELATED: Hip-Hop Rumors: 50 Cent Confirms That He And Floyd Mayweather Are Frenemies!

Check out 50’s tweet below:

How long before Floyd knocks 50 the f*ck out?! He’s really going overboard. First, forming a company with Floyd’s arch enemy, Manny Paquiao, and now, talking constant crap about him with any media outlet that will listen.

RELATED: Hip-Hop Rumors: 50 Cent Forms Company With Manny Pacquiao – WTH???

So, you guys have been emailing me asking me to bring up the “real” reason why Floyd and 50 are no longer friends. You twisted my arm, so I will! Rumor has it that 50 Cent and Floyd’s fiancée, Ms. Jackson, got extra close while Mayweather was in the bing, and Floyd did not like that one bit.

People were chattering that 50 and Ms. Jackson were allegedly seeing each other behind Floyd’s back while he was in prison. I don’t know what to tell you about this one, except that I have heard it whispered before.

C’est la vie!!! Are you going to miss this bromance?

Hip-Hop Rumors: Are Soulja Boy And Diamond Joining “Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta”?

I can’t say that this comes as any surprise. Soulja Boy’s career has been flailing for a while, and Diamond’s career….yeah, exactly. These two love birds are rumored to be joining the cast of VH1’s top rated show, “Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta” next season. According to Media TakeOut, the two will begin filming scenes for the upcoming season next week.

But what does this mean for Lil’ Scrappy and Erica? If you recall, Diamond was Scrappy’s girlfriend for a number of years before she dropped him like a sack of hot potatoes for Soulja Boy. You know how they say, how you get them is how you lose them? Well, Scrappy dumped Erica for Diamond, and in turn, he got the same treatment.

Because of the dumping, Scrappy was forced to move back in with his baby momma and now fiancée, Erica.

It’s going to be fun to see how these two relationships play out on TV, and how they interact with each other. If you thought the first season of “Love & Hip Hop:Atlanta” was ratchet, next season is sure to be a doozy. I don’t know about you, but I miss watching that show! I can’t wait till the next season. “Basketball Wives: L.A.” sucks and so does that Jim Jones and Chrissy Show.

Hurry up and bring back “L&HH”, Mona Scott-Young!

Daily Word: Wake The F*ck Up!!! (Advice from Samuel L. Jackson!)

Happy Friday, my Illuminated and Enlightened!

Welcome to the day that we begin to put some urgency back into our lives! Today’s Daily Word
is dedicated to waking up! As I perused through the Internet yesterday, I stumbled upon the Samuel L Jackson “Wake the F**K up” ad campaign for President Obama’s reelection (see video below).

As I watched the video and agreed with its message, I immediately thought of how that same message runs parallel to our lives! We often fight and fight for an outcome, and once we get close or get to that outcome, we begin to take a break and relax! We forget that there are forces
fighting against us that want what we already have! We fall asleep and believe that everything is all good, until we wake up and realize that all that we have fought for has been taken away!

WAKE UP!!! Understand that life is a journey not a destination! Your hard work is not something you do right now until you get what you want, then revert back to your former ways…. Your hard work is something you do right now and forever!! Excellence is Your life!! You must WAKE UP and push yourself to the best of your abilities at ALL TIMES!! Do Not allow life to take you by surprise!! All you have is right now!! Take full advantage of your power and NEVER, EVER let Go!!
-Ash’Cash

“Don’t be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make use of.” -Charles Richards

“If you want to make your dreams come true, the first thing you have to do is wake up.” -J. M. Power

Most people can do extraordinary things if they have the confidence or take the risks. Yet most people don’t. They sit in front of the telly and treat life as if it goes on forever.” -Philip Andrew Adams

“Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable.” -Sydney J. Harris

“Fear not that life shall come to an end, but rather fear that it shall never have a beginning.” -John Henry Cardinal Newman

“The life you have left is a gift. Cherish it. Enjoy it now, to the fullest. Do what matters, now.” -Leo Babauta

“You must take action now that will move you towards your goals. Develop a sense of urgency in your life.” -H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

“Don’t live down to expectations. Go out there and do something remarkable.” -Wendy Wasserstein

Rhymesayers Femcee Psalm One Forks Over The “Child Support” To AllHipHop.com

Whether it’s showing the fellas how it’s done on the mic, or showing everybody how to speak it real on her own Twitter invention – #RealTalkTuesday’s – Psalm One is always somewhere speaking truth about some thing, and she took a few moments to sit down with AllHipHop.com to do more of the same. Check out our interview with the multi-faceted, multi-talented lyricist Psalm One:

AllHipHop.com: Thanks for sitting down with us. Let’s just get right to it. For those who are not familiar with your past features etc., can you please tell the people how you got your start?

Psalm One: Hey y’all. I’m just an only child with a nerdy past and two writers for parents. I went to school for chemistry, then became a chemist.

AllHipHop.com: Whoa, a chemist?

Psalm One: Yep, but while I was in school, I met a lot of Rhymesayers artists through my love of Hip-Hop. After I graduated from the University of Illinois, I became a food chemist and was moonlighting as a rapper. Psalm One. Through those efforts, I was able to get placement on Casual of Hieroglyphics’ album, Smash Rockwell. I was also presented with the opportunity to sign an artist deal with Rhymesayers. In 2006, we released The Death of Frequent Flyer to critical acclaim. After that album, I traveled the world, ended up moving to the Bay Area of California, and took a rap hiatus. In 2010, I resurfaced and began making music again. Now, I live in Chicago. Child Support is out now! How you doing today?

AllHipHop.com: [laughter] Wow, definitely impressive! Now let’s discuss this new effort. What was the inspiration for this project, and who were the producers? Is it feature-heavy?

Psalm One: Kids were the inspiration for this project! While I was living out in California, I was doing a few shows, but I was doing more mentoring and high-end tutoring as well. Through my efforts with the America SCORES program, I was blessed with the opportunity to work with the ASCAP Songwriter Residency. It’s basically a three-day intensive program where an ASCAP artist goes to a school in the SCORES network, works on a song, and records it on the third day. I’d done the program in Oakland, Chicago, and ended up wanting to up the ante and do a tour, since I’m a touring musician.

Last fall/winter, I went to nine different U.S. cities and recorded songs with kids in underserved areas. We also got producers and engineers to donate time in order for us to make the album knock. Producers include Alonzo Lee of the TrakStarz, Young Josh of Flosstradamus, Mulatto Patriot, Mike Kush, Optiks, Cache, Massacre Beats, SC, and Jason M. The album features Chicago’s jewel, Mikkey Halsted, and of course over 200 students from the America SCORES network! The kids picked most of the beats, too. This was an amazing collaborative effort.

AllHipHop.com: That is amazing. Wow, you really don’t hear about artists taking the time like that very often, if at all. What did you learn about yourself during this process?

Psalm One: I learned patience, and how to be more open about songwriting. Doing an album with kids that doesn’t sound corny was the true challenge [laughter]. I learned patience, efficiency, and even more variety in concepts. As a writer, generally speaking, it helped me improve tremendously. It’s true what they say when they say kids can be the best teachers. I’m an only child, and I have no biological children, so I feel especially blessed to have done this album with so many great souls.

AllHipHop.com: Nice. So, what do you hope the listener takes away from your new project? What did you gain from doing it?

Psalm One: I hope the listener understands how valuable our youth are, and how dangerous it is to be so influential to them, yet not be responsible. This music actually gives back to the youth that are so influential to the financial structure of pop culture. All proceeds from the album go back into after school programs, so that’s just an awesome sidebar. Other than that, I hope they enjoy the music. It bangs, it’s positive, and it’s responsible music. You can play it anywhere!

AllHipHop.com: So, can we expect to see any video coming out soon?

Psalm One: We just dropped a video for the song “Kids Right Now”, featuring Mikkey Halsted.

But we have two more videos currently in production for the album, so the answer to this question is a resounding YES! It’s been cool to get awesome people working on these videos, too. It has just been an overall amazing experience.

AllHipHop.com: Do you feel that more is expected of you as a female in the industry? If so, how do you deal with the pressures of those expecting you to be a certain way in your career?

Psalm One: I believe there is more pressure because there are so few women, and a lot of women on labels do in fact represent the men that put them on. It’s a cold fact, but it’s true. I deal with the pressures and the expectations now like I always have. I’ve always been in high pressure situations. But I just have to always take a deep breath, believe in my abilities, and keep working. I know I can’t fail in the grand scheme of things. I remind myself about myself. I trust my gut, as they say. I believe that being myself is what the biggest goal is. The trick is finding out what that is. So, while I care about pressure, I can’t let it consume me, or I’d never put out any music. I’d be too afraid.

AllHipHop.com: Very well put. Can you please tell the readers what “Real Talk Tuesdays” are? [laughter]

Psalm One: In its essence, it’s a play on the RT, or Retweet. In light of all the stupid Twitter holidays people make up, I wanted to make up one myself. “Real Talk Tuesday” is the day of the week where I tweet so heavy it’s not even funny, but I encourage people to tweet interesting, random, and TRUE things. People lie their *sses off online, so I wanted to encourage some genuine posts. This is not to say I lie every other day on Twitter [laughter]. It’s just on Tuesdays, there’s a party surrounding it. It’s taken on a life of its own, and I’m very proud to say I had a hand in that. The hashtag has been bitten, scoffed, embraced, and most importantly, it’s been used. People tend to really enjoy it.

AllHipHop.com: Psalm, what will make this first solo experience complete for you?

Psalm One: That’s a tough question, because I have achieved a lot of dreams in my life, where I know many people never get to achieve any. I am so blessed, but I also have a lot of new goals. I believe living a full and long life in music will make it complete for me. To be able to keep working and keep helping my community, to keep seeing the world and making new fans. That’s completion to me. Living this life.

AllHipHop.com: What five words best describe you as an artist?

Psalm One: Silly, Sexy, Interesting, Different, Emcee.

AllHipHop.com: What’s up next for Psalm One?

Psalm One: I’m doing a slew of EPs with some awesome people, including Oh No. I’ve currently worked with Murs, J-Zone, Bahamadia, Mike Eagle, Jon Connor, and members of Treated Crew and Atmosphere on stuff. I’m waiting for the right opportunities to present this music I’ve been working on for so long. So a lot is up next for me. Next year, you will look at me as if I never left.

AllHipHop.com: Sheer dopeness! How can people check for you?

Psalm One: The best way to keep up with me daily is on Twitter (@PsalmOne), but I always have new music up at my website, regularblackgirl.com. You can also Facebook me at “PsalmOne.” My Instagram be poppin’ too…PsalmOne.

Psalm One’s Child Support project is available now on Amazon and iTunes. Visit her page on Rhymesayers’ official website to learn more.

EXCLUSIVE: Rockie Fresh Talks Electric Highway Mixtape; “Motivated” by Signing to MMG

(AllHipHop News) Early this week, AllHipHop.com spoke with newly signed artist Rockie Fresh about his new Maybach Music Group (MMG) deal, his growth over the course of his tour, and his feelings about the Electric Highway project he’s been working on as of late.

Joined by Phil Ade, Casey Veggies, Dom Kennedy, Los, YP, Skeme, and others, Rockie Fresh headlined the Key Club in Los Angeles for fans, media, and friends, performing an hour-long set.

“This is my first headlining tour, newest member to MMG, just getting acclimated to some new aspects of life, just working. I’m here to work,” Rockie Fresh told AllHipHop.com.

“I feel like I got a lot to prove. I feel like it’s a lot of new fans that I got due to the situation, but the sky is the limit. With me, being part of such a powerful team, it’s like time for me to turn up, you feel me?,” he added. “I’m just ready for people to see why Ross did what he did, and show people some real classic Chicago music.”

When asked if he felt any pressure to perform under the magnifying glass of MMG, Rockie Fresh said the signing has “motivated him.”

“This was one of the most reassuring things that happened to me. It’s just now I’m motivated, and its what we gonna do,” he said.

Rockie Fresh’s first visual under the MMG imprint, for the song “You A Lie” featuring label head Rick Ross, is a remix to the track from his Driving 88 project and is currently playing on BET’s “106 & Park.”

He explained, “It’s one of these things where now I got some resources, you feel me? I was making Driving 88 with my homies in Chicago, and we were really trying to make ends meet – even musically, you know what I’m saying? So, now that I got my deal with a little bit of a budget, I can turn my music up.

“But then also my story has a little bit of ending to it because I started as an independent artist, and now getting this deal with MMG, I feel like the story to that could be some sort of motivation. So, it’s more so me talking about that. I experienced a lot more since Driving 88, but it’s still that bobbing feel and that futuristic joint.”

BET Hip-Hop Awards Preview!: We Remember the Best of the BET Hip-Hop Cyphers

As we lead up to this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards, for which AllHipHop.com is nominated for Best Hip-Hop website, we take a look back at the BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher over the years.

As most of you know, every year the BET Hip-Hop Awards has a cypher that airs during the show, featuring some of the hottest up and coming talent in the game. Since its inception, BET has been pulling talent from all parts of the world with a varied array of styles, setting a standard across the world for what a cypher should sound like.

Reminiscent of some of the famed cyphers on street corners during Hip-Hop’s early days, the cypher is often one of the most talked about parts of the BET Hip-Hop Awards. Granted everyone on Twitter has something to say about the performances, too, as the cypher truly showcases the true talent raw and uncut. They take it back to the corner with an MC and someone to beat box – unedited like banging on the lunch room table, the cypher is raw lyrics and just the beat. No special effects, just lyrics and the beat. Below is recap of a few cyphers we’ve loved over the years.

2007’s cypher kicked things off with Wyclef, Twista, Lil Mama, Dizzee Rascal, Phonte, Stat Quo, Kardinal Offishall, Joell Ortiz, Flo, and Cassidy. This was all before Lil Mama jumped on stage with Jay-Z…#FAIL. Either way, this was the first cypher and set the standard for what we would see in subsequent years. Wyclef was dope, Phonte, Stat, and Joell definitely had some nice verses as well…

2008’s cypher featured the likes of  Hurricane Chris, K’naan, Bun B, Q-Tip, Willy Northpole, Hime, Blaq Poet, Cory Gunz, Ace Hood, Juelz Santana, Fabolous, and Jadakiss. While the cypher was dope in its own right, Viacom has pulled all links for this cypher, so we were unable to embed the greatness of this lyrical abomination.

In 2009, we witnessed Eminem, Mos Def, Black Thought, Nicki Minaj, Joe Budden, Buckshot, Crown Royyal, KRS-ONE, Wale, Nipsey Hussle, and GSAN with DJ Premier on the tables. Just looking back on this cypher, we can see how Nicki, Wale, Joe Budden, and Nipsey Hussle’s careers grown – and, it was dope to hear KRS, Black Thought, Em, and Buckshot kick some legendary rhymes. This def set the bar for cyphers going forward.

The 2010 cypher featured the young seeds of Ice Cube and Rev Run – OMG, Doughboy, Jo Jo, and Diggy. It’s amazing to see how Diggy’s career has progressed since this point. As you can see, he’s making headlines for his beef with J. Cole as of late, but you can tell the kid has skills even back then. Raekwon introduced Wiz Khalifa, Bones Brigante, and Yelawolf, and Fonzworth Bentley jumped in a cypher with Vado and Reychesta, proving you truly never know what is going to happen in the BET Hip-Hop Awards cypher. Let’s not forget that G.O.O.D. Music had their memorable time in the cypher spotlight, too – one that included Kanye, Pusha T, Big Sean, Cyhi da Prynce, and Common.

2011’s cypher was highly anticipated, and it seems like the cypher is at its greatest point of popularity on the cusp of the 2012 awards show. Straight up, though, the Shady Records cypher with Em, Slaughterhouse, and Yelawolf was one of the most popular over the last five years. Check the cypher behind the scenes in Detroit. This was a CLASSIC!

And, we can’t forget about MCs Gilbere Forte, Chris Sutton (Sprite’s Hot 16 Winner), XV, and Jay Rock trading verses. Then, in another video, Rico Staxx, Wais P, Termanology, Sean Cross, and French Montana go back and forth. The best of the year, however, had to be the Big K.R.I.T., Tech N9ne, Machine Gun Kelly, Kendrick Lamar, and B.o.B. cypher. Ha! Plus, how could we forget Busta Rhymes, Luda, Reek da Villain and 2 Chainz? 2 Chainz said, “You a nobody, anorexic.”

So, who’s on deck for this year? Well, we’ve heard some whispers, but we’re not trying to ruin the show for you! Stay tuned for the airing of the BET Hip-Hop Awards on October 9.

What was your favorite year for the Bet Cypher? Comment and let us know!!!

Hip-Hop Rumors: Jay-Z Says He Wants To be Selfish – He Ain’t Sharing The Stage

Jigga man has been actively getting his 40/40 Club back on the market for high-level events, just recently hosting President Barack Obama for a $40K a head fundraiser. Hov was back at it last night, holding the NBA 2K13 launch party at his establishment. Jay decided to walk the red carpet this time around and spoke with Jeff Rosenthal of Rolling Stone about his upcoming eight-show kickoff at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

If you were hoping to see any special guests, think again. Jigga wants to be selfish this time. Check out what he said about giving special guests the boot below:

“No one’s appearing, no one’s performing. It’s Brooklyn! This is my one chance to be selfish. Can’t I? Can’t I be selfish? Thank you.”

“Just for these eight shows – then I’ll get back to my “Jay-Z & Friends” shows. I get all of these guys to come out for me, so . . .”

Jigga doesn’t really have a good reason for doing 8 shows, but says that anymore and he would “fall over from exhaustion.”

“My stamina,” Hov said frankly “When I got to eight, I felt like I would probably fall over from exhaustion. It was just eight shows. Eight shows for H.O. I should do H.O. merchandise! [Slaps his forehead] What the f*ck is wrong with me?”

Hov kicks off the Barclays Center with a bang, performing his first show tomorrow night. Will you be in the house? Any disappointment regarding Jay’s no special guests announcement?

Hip-Hop Rumors: Lupe Fiasco Reveals Why He Refuses To Pledge Allegiance To The Flag

Outspoken Chicago MC, Lupe Fiasco knows how to keep his name in the headlines, doesn’t he? Whether it’s admitting that he’s not voting in the upcoming Presidential election, or Twitter beefing with Chief Keef and D.L. Hughley – Lupe makes sure that his opinions are heard.

RELATED: Hip-Hop Rumors: Lupe Fiasco In Another Twitter Beef?

Just two days after his new LP, Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, Pt. 1, was released, Lupe is making headlines over a lyric on the track, “Strange Fruition.” On the track, Lupe raps about not pledging allegiance to the flag during the National Anthem. Check out the lyrics below:

“Now I can’t pledge allegiance to your flag,” Fiasco raps. ‘Cause I can’t find no reconciliation with your past/When there was nothing equal for my people in your math/You forced us in the ghetto and then you took our dads.”

Lupe has good reason not to pledge, and has cited the way he was raised and his religious faith as a Muslim that omit him from the American tradition. Check out what he told MTV’s RapFix Live below:

“I don’t know if I should speak on that, to be honest. My moms and my pops told us when we were little kids, ‘You don’t say the pledge of allegiance. More from a religious kind of thing, halfway. You pledge your allegiance to God and that’s it. Being Muslim and things like that, you don’t pledge allegiance to no flag.”

So, do you think it’s a big deal that Lupe doesn’t pledge allegiance to the flag? How many of you out there feel the same way?

EXCLUSIVE: DMC World Championships Kick Off Today In London; Organizer Sally Mclintock Speaks On Competition

(AllHipHop News) Today (September 27) the world will witness some of the most creative minds in turntablism, at the 28th annual DMC World DJ Championships, which are taking place in London.

The competition is one of the largest DJ tournaments of all time and features DJ’s from over 30 countries.

Contestants over the years have not only won over fans with their turntable wizardry, but their skills have also put them on stage with artists such as Madonna, Beastie Boys and Busta Rhymes. Previous winners of the competition have included DJ Cash Money, Roc Raider and Kanye West’s DJ, A-Trak.

The DMC World DJ Championships have come a long way since its humble beginnings, which was founded by Tony Prince.

The first DMC World Championships took place in the early 80’s at a London nightclub.

“It started out as the first remix service in the industry and still to this day provides the DJ world with a monthly membership of the latest remixes/megamixes/two trackers and promos,” organizer Sally McLintock told AllHipHop.com. “The competition itself began when we started to host annual DJ Conventions in 1984 which included Mixing Competitions and then it naturally progressed into the DMC World Championships. We have always been at the forefront of the music industry and as well as establishing the longest running world DJ competition we were the hub of the club world market and created the biggest selling music magazine, Mixmag which DMC owned for 15 years with monthly sales of over 150,000.”

Since then, the DMC has developed an army of dedicated followers worldwide thanks to the national competitions, which are held in over 25 countries.

“DMC and the competition has been an important part of the culture, especially the DJ culture,” McLintock explained. “We have been here from the start…our passion and love is for the DJ and that’s why we are still here!”

For the second year, the DMC’s are allowing DJ’s to compete using the Serato mixing technology, in addition to traditional vinyl. But the DMC has no plans on ditching wax in the competition.

“Obviously the vinyl purists were not happy, but we have kept one of our competitions vinyl only – The Battle For Supremacy,” McLintock said. “Its been a great addition though allowing Serato and DVS and a decision we are very happy with.”

The DMC World DJ Championships takes place September on 27 and 28 at HMV Forum, Kentish Town, London.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Snoop Defends Smoking That Sticky Icky With His Son

Snoop Dogg Lion has been getting a lot of flack lately over photos that show him and his oldest son Corde (Spank) smoking marijuana together. The photos were posted on Twitter by his son and opened Snoop up to criticism regarding his parenting style. You see, 18-year-old Spank was once a promising football player, who was destined to play college ball and possibly go to the big leagues. Not saying that he still can’t do that – but any scout that has interest in him will probably be turned off by the public photos of him puffing on an illegal substance. I’m just saying!

Well, Snoop has heard the criticism loud and clear, and in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Snoop feels like it brings him closer to his son. Check out an excerpt from the cover story below:

“What better way to [learn] than from the master?”

“My kids can do whatever the hell they want. For me to say otherwise would be hypocritical. A lot of motherf–ers don’t have a relationship with their kids, and that’s when they get on drugs and have suicidal thoughts and drive drunk. Me and my son is mellow. I’m his father, so I wanna show him the proper way because he looks up to me.”

For the record, Snoop, a California resident, is a proud holder of what he calls “a platinum medical maryjane card,” though to be sure, most of his green is gifted. Still, he hopes to see the drug fully — and federally — legalized in his lifetime. What would America look like then? “There would be less high-speed chases, less robberies, less crime,” he says. “Go to Amsterdam or the Netherlands where it is legal and you see that the crime rate is nonexistent, the murder rate is probably under 10 percent, people learn to get along! There are people riding on bicycles being happy and it’s because of the environment that’s provided by the legalization of chronic.”

Do you agree with Snoop Dogg? Does it necessarily mean that he has a better relationship with his son because they smoke weed together? Do you agree with his stance on parenting?
