Floyd Mayweather Explains His Victory, Discusses Possible Manny Pacquiao Fight

Shane Mosley and Naazim Richardson Reflect on the Loss

Mayweather says the fight with Pacquiao can happen if he takes the blood test.  Crowd applauds him.

Official Decision

119-109 twice, 118-110 Unanimous Decision Floyd Mayweather. I gave Shane 1 round on my card. Like him or not, Mayweather shut up a lot of people tonight. We’ll see if Pacquiao wants it, because of rematch of this is very unnecessary.

ROUND 12

Mosley eats a hard right hook for clinching on the inside. Floyd looking for a KO but Mosley clinching almost non-stop.They exchange and Floyd shots get there first. Mosley eats a left-right-left hook combo on the inside. Crowd seems stunned. They expected Money to get challenged. They hug to end. Mayweather 10-9

ROUND 11

Mosley clinching whenever they get close, it’s Floyd looking to punch. Hard right hook catches Shane. Hard left hook stuns Shane. Straight right lands. Floyd is the stronger man in the ring tonight, pushing Mosley off and around. Straight right from Mayweather out the shoulder roll. Wonder what Pacquiao thinks of this. Mayweather 10-9

ROUND 10

Mayweather stadning in front of Shane firing with full power. Mosley eats 2 hard hooks. Mayweather eating Shane up on the inside. Shane eats a hard right and left hook.  Decent right hook to the body from Shane. Mosley eats another hard right. he’s breathing hard but won’t go down. Mayweather is shutting up a lot of critics tonight. He’s hasn’t ran once. Mayweather 10-9

ROUND 9

Slow round, Shane laboring, his mouth bloody. Mosley looking to clinch when he can. Right crashing home on Shane, who’s now getting elbows in the throat for clinching from Mayweather. Left hook out the clinch from Mayweather. Mosley looks tired, no snap on his punches, clinching when he can. Right hand clocks Mosley who swings wildly back at air. Mayweather 10-9

ROUND 8

Class is in session. Floyd rocking Shane with hard rights. Money talking to Shane, laughing in the clinches. Horrible. Shane has nothing for him tonight except that chin. And its getting tested. We may see a stoppage because Floyd is snapping his neck back constantly. Mayweather 10-9

ROUND 7

Mayweather alternating between the high guard and shoulder roll, has Shane flinching. Mosley’s fans completely drained. Mosley stunned but 2 hard rights. Mayweather going in for the kill. Shane fire back but hits air. Mosley goes for broke and catches Mayweather with an overhand right. Jab down the middle lands for Floyd. Mosley looking all of his 38 years.. Mayweather 10-9

ROUND 6

Floyd checks Mosley chin with a hard right to the jaw. 30 seconds later 2 more for good measure. Like I said before the fight, Floyd has deceptive power, Mosley is not using his strength to muscle Floyd and truly coming foward. Even against the ropes he’s hesitant to throw. It’s his only shot, though. SHANE YOU CANNOT OUTBOX FLOYD. Mayweather 10-9 http://twitpic.com/1k6fij

ROUND 5

Mosley clinching early. Shane confused about how to attack. Mosley booed for clinching. Right hand to the body from Floyd. Mosley landing nothing of note. Short right out of clinchin from Floyd. Check left hook allows Mayweather to roll off the ropes. Floyd throwing hard.Jab for Shane, missing follow up right. Mayweather does not. Not looking good, Floyd starting to go after him. Mayweather 10-9

ROUND 4

Floyd fighting at his pace. Shane can’t win this way. Check left hook catches Shane. Mosley hesitant to come in. Floyd drilling him now. Catches him with a straight right. Mosley clinches after eating an overhand right against the ropes. Easy Mayweather round. Jab catching Shane, too. Mayweather 10-9

ROUND 3

Mayweather starts early with a 3 punch combo to Shane’s face. Mosley moving back this round waiting on Maywather. Left hook out a clinch catcxhes Shane. Mayweather with a left-right hook combo to drive Shane back. Mosley trying to fight Mayweather is ring center is nuts. Clear Mayweather round. Mayweather 10-9

ROUND 2

Hard right hand blast Mayweather. Mayweather takes it well. Mayweather tries to brwawl and gets caught again! Legs buckle, Mayweather being tested like we thought. Mayweather coming foward, crowd chanting for Mosle. Floyd back with a straight rights, Mosley going backwards now. We have a fight! Great round! Mosley 10-9

ROUND ONE

Tactical as Shane predicted. He was jabbing a lot to the body, but Mayweather caught him witha  jab and counter right. Shane was clinching a lot. Nothing too heavy landed. Mayweather 10-9

Did Lady Gaga Push Christina Aguilera To Switch Her Swag?

Did Lady Gaga Push Christina Aguilera To Switch Her Swag?

presents her new video for “Not Myself Tonight” and she returns to her a previous “dirty girl” style from years back. Howwever, the change back in style and sound seems very close to the present ruling pop queen Lady Gaga. The single is the prelude “Bionic, the album that is due out June 8th.

Remember when she got sloppy seconds from Brit after she kissed Madonna, then X-Tina?

Hip-Hop Rumors: The Ladies Edition: Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Kat Stacks

DISCLAIMER:

All content within this section is pure rumor

and generally have no factual info outside of what the streets have

whispered in our ear. Read on.

GAGA WASN’T HAVING IT EITHER?

Remember those early rumors that we heard Nicki Minaj was looking to have the same manager as Lady Gaga? Yeah, that one? Eventually, she settled on Diddy as her career caretaker. But I heard Lady Gaga’s maanger was close in the running of managing both eccentric artists. Then the brakes came to a screeching halt and Lady Gaga allegedly said, “No way.” Before you say there is beef, there isn’t. It seems that Gaga simply wants to be the top priority. As you know, Nicki should be touring with her. I heard Nicki’s absence on the Rihanna tour really affected that foray. Nicki brings a lot to the table.

NOTE ABOUT RIHANNA

I guess I said some stuff about Rihanna the other day that was actually FLATTERING. Well, one of my esteemed writers brought it to my attention that Rihanna may look all good and stuff, but her music isn’t faring as well. Reports say that she has not sold a million units in the U.S. yet. Apparently, Perez said that most of her sales are from outside of the U.S. What’s the big deal?

I guess some people that don’t like RiRi so much wanted to make a point. I don’t care personally.

CLARITY ON KAT STACKS!

Shout out to Kat! She’s got everybody talking in these streets. Here is some clarity. Apparently, she was doing that legal stuff in Florida and not Cali. Sorry about that – that wasn’t my source’s mistake. Here are some more points of clarification. Apparently Kat Stacks has had some issues with prostitution in the past. She was arrested in May of 2009 for a gun possession charge as per the Broward County Florida Clerks office records online. It is alleged that at that time Kat Stacks and another young lady were arrested during a escort service sting. Kat Stacks was booked for possession of a firearm and grand theft, while the other girl was charged with offering sex for money. It’s come to my attention now that she is possibly having some issues because of this arrest. She is a citizen of Venezuela and has overstayed her Visa, thus leading to her possible deportation. It was also brought to my attention that she is indeed in talks with VH1 about a reality show and she has actually signed already to have a pilot.”

WAS XO SET UP?

Honestly, I don’t even know what this means, but somebody sent this over suggesting that XO was set up by the bunny and Kat.

AND he denies sleeping with her altogether.

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Halle and her man Gabe have apparently broken up. One more MILF on the prowl for the illseed!

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END I can’t even bring myself to discuss how wack these dude that’s do this d**k slanging dance are. I mean, I’m no honophobe but it seems like so-called straight people are more gay than gay people.

TREY SONGZ!!!!

HA! Trey Songz at the prom. He was 17 in this pic. Sure is a chipper lad!!!!

EPIC FAIL OF THE DAYThis man will rob you unless you have a gun.

Brother man, brother man…or his that n-word man, n-word man. Sometimes, I wonder if we are a lost people! Black man rise up!!!!! This dude here…failed. In Florida 62-year-old Ruben Torres, a native New Yorker is now a hero, because of a dumb crooks dumb luck. The man above, Floyd Francis, 23, pulled out a gun and tried to rob a bank. Well, Torres was packing his own heat since he’s a security officer and can hold a concealed weapon. The old man got the drop on dude and held him there for the cops.

WE CANNOT DO BETTER, HUH?

DEAR OPRAH.

I am a texter and driver. I’m damn good at it too. Not only am I a great texter, I am even good at full instant message conversations on my mobile device. I noticed you have a crusade against my way of life. Sadly, I am one of these people that don’t have a driver to drive me around and furthermore, my life is consumed by hard work. I appreciate the people that you are trying to save, because they are texting for fun. I text and communicate on the run. I work on the run. I’m a busy person. Reconsider your crusade, because I am about to break the “Oprah Texting Law” the moment it is ratified. All of you that are not like me, Obey Oprah.

For those that don’t know: Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm signed the texting while driving ban on Oprah’s show this week. It actually goes into affect on July 1, 2010. The first offense is $100, second offense is $200.

I’m headed to Michigan…Breakin the law, breakin the law!!!!!!

BRANDY LOOKING GOOD!

KAT STACKS, WE LOVE YOU!!!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about

them then they should worry!

Knockout Nation: Mayweather-Mosley Round By Round Coverage Tonight, Weigh-In, Leonard-Hearns Give Their Thoughts, Prediction for Tonight!

Less than an hour ago, Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley faced off one last time before they’ll engage in battle tomorrow night (May 1) in the MGM Grand for the welterweight title.

Fans at the weigh-in slightly favored Mosley, who looked great coming right in at 147 despite his last fight being in January 2009.

Mayweather was well-defined, and without having to worry about a catchweight like his last fight, came in at 146 pounds.

There wasn’t much trash-talking, as both men are likely well aware the hype has run its course.

Now that you’ve seen the weigh-in, read all the interviews, and reviewed their previous fights, who is going to win the May 1 showdown?

Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns Discuss Mayweather-Mosley

Marquee welterweight matchups always seem to capture the public’s imagination. Some, like Leonard-Duran, exceed all expectations and become classics. Others, such as De La Hoya-Trinidad, have all the ingredients but simply fall short.

So as we approach another epic showdown, it’s only fitting that Tommy Hearns and Sugar Ray Leonard reflect on their phenomenal 1980 encounter, and what they expect tomorrow night.

“This is going to be a very good fight. I think it is going to be a very competitive fight. It is going to be a chess match,” Hearns explained. “I think Mayweather should do well with that style. I think Shane is going to try to test that and see how well he can get that shot in.”

Regarding whether the fight would be as good as his first fight with Leonard, the Hitman doubted if their styles could mesh as well.

“I don’t see it being the same as me and Ray. We set the standard and it’s going to be tough to top what we did,” Hearns stated. “I am proud to know Ray Leonard. Ray brought the best out of me and I think I brought the best out of him. It’s going to be a great fight this Saturday night, but don’t look for the same thing as happened in our fight. That was a different era.”

Sugar Ray Leonard disagreed with his former rival, believing Mayweather and Mosley can live up to previous welterweight classics.

“Most of the time fights don’t live up to expectations. But fights like this, with Mosley and Mayweather, are highly anticipated,” he explained. “I truly believe that this fight here, these two guys will indeed live up to expectations, because whether they say it or not, it is about bragging rights. Yeah it’s about the money. Everyone wants the money, but for the guy who wins, it’s bragging rights.”

When asked how Mayweather would have done in their era, both were dismissive of Floyd’s chances.

“Floyd would have been too small for us. We were really big welterweights,” said Hearns. “He’s a small guy. We would’ve made it very difficult. Anytime you’re punching up at someone, that’s a big difference.”

Leonard agreed regarding a potential Mayweather-Hearns fantasy matchup.

“Tommy is a freak of nature for a welterweight. He’s big, strong, powerful, has a big heart, and I don’t think anyone could beat Tommy Hearns…except me,” Leonard quipped.

Look for footage of this special press conference after tomorrow night’s fight.

Mayweather-Mosley: True or False

In discussing this fight with fans and fellow fans, there have been several, oft repeated talking

points emerging. But are they really true? Let’s analyze.

1.      Shane Mosley is the best opponent Floyd Mayweather has ever faced.

True.

Shane Mosley is a first ballot Hall of Famer and one of the best welterweights of the last decade. Since arriving in the welterweight division in 2005, Floyd Mayweather has faced Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, Carlos Baldomir, Ricky Hatton, and Juan Manuel Marquez. None of these fighters are in Mosley’s league. And the same applies with his standout super featherweight and lightweight opponents in Diego Corrales and Genaro Hernandez.

Oscar De La Hoya was still good at 154 when Floyd faced him in 2007. However, Oscar was not pummeling the best of his division at that time with his sporadic schedule, unlike Mosley.

2.      Mayweather is the best opponent Mosley has faced at 147.

True.

Because of the scrutiny applied to Mayweather’s welterweight record, this is often overlooked. With all due respect to Miguel Cotto, the only fighter close to Floyd on Mosley’s welterweight ledger is Oscar De La Hoya. Although the Golden Boy presented Mosley with a classic battle in 2000, I believe that Floyd is much smarter and craftier than the Golden Boy, which will force Mosley to make more adjustments in the ring than he did against Oscar, whom he was able to outwork and out brawl down the stretch to take the decision.

3.      Since Miguel Cotto outfoxed and beat him, Shane has no chance outside of a KO against Mayweather.

Not True.

Before the Margarito and Pacquiao beatings, Cotto was arguably the best welterweight in world and without question had fought the best competition at the weight. Following the Mosley fight, Cotto had defeated 4 straight Top 10 welterweight contenders.

With Shane, he combined a hard jab and accurate, powerful hooks to keep Mosley honest early. Mosley’s iron chin saw him through a difficult first half, and the Puerto Rican star narrowly escaped with a close, but hard fought decision.

Cotto has much more power in his punches than Mayweather, and that was essential in keeping Mosley from overwhelming him early. Mayweather has deceptive, stinging power, but it remains to be seen if it’s enough to get Mosley’s respect. If not, Shane will continue pressing his attacks, most likely to the body. If his stamina holds after a 16 month layoff, and he’s worked on shortening his punches and continuing to enhance his jab (which looked good in the Margarito bout), there is a chance he can outwork Mayweather, who’s relegated his once great, varied combination offense to potshots at higher weights.

4.      Mosley is too big and strong for Mayweather. Floyd will probably be roughed up.

Not True.

Mayweather has fully grown into welterweight. When he first came back, there was talk that maybe he could still make 140. That went out the window last September against Marquez when Floyd couldn’t make the specified catch-weight of 142, costing him thousands of dollars. To date, Mayweather has shown toughness and held his ground in the trenches when faced with aggressive fighters. Against determined by lesser fighters in Emmanuel Augustus and Jesus Chavez, Mayweather dissected them with short uppercuts and hooks. When injured, he stood toe to toe in later rounds with a prime Jose Luis Castillo, which enabled him to escape with a disputed decision. Even in a division he had no business in at junior middleweight, Mayweather was able to control a bigger Oscar De La Hoya in the clinches.

A look at their weigh-in physiques show Mosley and Mayweather are very close in size, so it’s not a given Shane will the stronger man tomorrow night.

5.      The winner will automatically face Manny Pacquiao next.

Not True.

There is a rematch clause in place, which most certainly will be exercised in the event the decision is disputed and the fight lives up to expectations. Top Rank and Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum rather keep his funds in-house by pitting Manny against Antonio Margarito later this year.

It’s not what the people want, but how often do promoters listen to fans?

Prediction: Mayweather Unanimous Decision

It may have been a different story 10 years ago, but at this stage I believe that Mayweather has the ring smarts and style to frustrate Shane. It will be exciting at times, but Shane himself told me that he’s a expecting to make it a tactical, technical battle, and there’s no way he can beat Floyd at that game.

Mosley is a lot slower than the fighter he was when he burst onto the welterweight scene on 2000 in beating Oscar De La Hoya, and it’ll show when he’s in the ring with someone who’s not standing directly in front of him like Ricardo Mayorga and Antonio Margarito.

Joe Calzaghe to Make Return Against Super Six Winner?

Before the weigh-in, Golden Boy brought a host of fighters to be received by the crowd. Among them was retired, undefeated super middleweight and light-heavyweight champion Joe Calzaghe.

What struck me immediately was that Calzaghe appeared to be in great shape despite his last fight being 2 years ago!

Now, there have been unsubstantiated rumblings that Calzaghe has considered facing the winner of Showtime’s Super Six tournament. Previously I’d dismissed those rumors, but there may be some credence to them based on Calzaghe’s looking in fighting shape.

I’ll do my best to track the Welshman down and get to the bottom of it. It won’t be easy; we are in Vegas and Joe is known to party hard. Who knows how many clubs he’ll hit up tonight!

Mayweather-Mosley is live May 1 on HBO PPV at 9PM. Tonight’s airing of 24/7 Mayweather-Mosley is the final episode.

Nas Narrates Documentary On Liberian Amputee Soccer Team

(AllHipHop News) Rap star Nas has teamed with ESPN’s primetime newsmagazine E: 60 to present the story of the Liberian Amputee Soccer Team. The documentary centers around the team of amputees as they prepare to compete in the African Cup of Nations Soccer Tournament. All of the team players are victims of Liberia’s 14-year civil war, which saw over 250,000 people killed and left millions wounded. “I realized my realities were like a walk in the park compared to what these kids go through in these other countries,” Nas said. The soccer team was formed in 2007 to help close the gap between men who previously fought each other during the country’s violent civil war. Shortly after the first team was formed a league of six teams sprouted in Monrovia. In 2008, the Liberian National Amputee soccer team were the champions of Africa. In addition to narrating the documentary, Nas’ music will be featured in the special, which airs May 4th at 7:00 PM EST. Nas is preparing to release his upcoming concept album with Damian Marley titled Distant Relatives. The album, which is due in stores May 18th,  traces Hip-Hop’s origins from Africa to the present.

KAT STACKS TO BE DEPORTED AND GET A VH1 REALITY SHOW?

Sooooo about a year ago Kat Stacks was arrested and today

she was being processed in Cali. Now, I am hearing a few things so let me run

it down for you. First of all, I am being told that she is knocked for

prostitution, but that may not be the case. As you know, Kat Stacks openly

admits to taking money in exchange for her ample body. And she brags about it.

And rappers pay. Must be good flirting with death. Anyway, during her processing

it was allegedly discovered that Kat Stacks is in this country illegally and is

really from Venezuela. Her name is Andrea Herrera and told officials that she’s

about to have a show on VH1 and some other ventures. Apparently, they believed

her in some way, because they let her slide and took off her ankle bracelet.

But her initial charges were from her holding concealed

weapon and some sort of Grand Theft. Lastly, Kat Stacks apparently overstayed

her Visa. She may be deported. We’ll see, eh?

She had to deal heavily with Immigration and Customs. From

what I understand, her court hearing is on the 27th of next month and she was

going to be put on house arrest. They decided against it AND she REALLY IS

WORKING ON A VH1 SHOW! They somehow verified this. She brought the paperwork

and contracts in the office to show proof. My sources don’t think they are

going to allow Kat to stay in the U.S. though, but that’s just his opinion.

Friday Fashion Feature: From Thug to Thespian: The Style Evolution of Ludacris

Since he first broke out on the scene in the late 90s, it seemed that Christopher Brian Bridges, aka Ludacris, has maintained a consistent and healthy career. It seemed like he came out of nowhere, with major hits like “Southern Hospitality” and “What’s You Fantasy,” and hasn’t looked back since. He went on to plant his feet firmly on the ground as a talented, multiplatinum rapper, songwriter, actor and philanthropist. Ludacris managed to do it all under the radar, as in, your rarely hear about beef surrounding him or other gossip. As his sound matured over the years, so did Luda’s style. He came out with braids, an afro, baggy jeans, and loud colors. Even his demeanor, his poses in pictures seemed youthful, cocky and aggressive.   Now, take a look at his more recent album covers, where he appears the more thoughtful, serious and mature Ludacris of today. Even the titles of his albums reflect his maturity level—from Chicken N Beer to the deeper Theater of the Mind. Luda eventually opted for a clean shaved head, slimmer fitting gear, modern menswear, and an overall simplicity in his style. We’ve seen him go from oversize jerseys to plain white tees, tailored suits and more. Don’t get it twisted—Luda hasn’t exactly sold out on the urban side… He still carries a youthful street vibe with fresh denim and sneakers, favoring brands from BBC to high end designers like Armani.

Jay Electronica “The Ghost of Christopher Wallace” feat. Diddy

Jay Electronica – to some – is Hip-Hop’s last hope. While that is not likely the case, the New Orleans representive has surly made a strong case for the notion. Case in point, this new song called “The Ghost of Christopher Wallace.” Diddy rights shotgun with the adlibs and s**t talk. There is hope…now listen.

Yelawolf: On Eminem, Interscope & Being White In Hip-Hop

AllHipHop.com chopped it up with emerging star Yelawolf and the rap artist shared his insight on being White in Hip-Hop, comparisons to Eminem, and his new inked deal with Interscope.

AllHipHop.com: Everyone knows that the Eminem comparisons arose due to you two both being Caucasian- both styles of music are totally different. What do you think it’s going to take for Hip-Hop to accept a pure, good white artist without any sort of discrimination?

Yelawolf: Years and years of great white artists. It’s going to take more classics from white artists that make international impacts. I mean Rock n’ Roll is black music, but there were plenty talented white Rock n’ Roll that just kind of made that line disappear. It’s going to take decades. It won’t happen in my lifetime. The odds are just slim for a white artist in Hip-Hop. This is a black culture… it’s just something you have to respect and appreciate. Have to be thankful that you’re able to do it. Do what you do and love what you do. You have to be passionate about what you do and let it live.

AllHipHop.com: In an interview you did with Vibe magazine I quote: “Eminem is a f***ing robot. He’s the greatest recording artist I’ve ever heard, period. When it comes to rapping words, it’s like he’s a robot.” Explain.

Yelawolf: One the [greatest recording artists]… let’s be specific. I say he’s one of the greatest recording artists I have ever heard because his precision, syllable delivery, tone, punctuation… something you pay attention to as a MC and a rapper. Like Busta Rhymes… Busta Rhymes is precise- he’s another great recording artist also. So is Twista, so is Andre 3000. There’s a precision. He’s a robot based off the albums he put out- especially The Relapse. If you listen to that, the deliver is crazy. But you know, it’s just respect that’s all.

AllHipHop.com: You recently inked a deal with Interscope records. Some people would say that the only out-the-box artists they have been successful with is will.i.am and Lady Gaga…

Yelawolf: What about Dr. Dre and The Chronic?

AllHipHop.com: Well how do you feel about those type of comments?

Yelawolf: I would say you have to do your research. You have to do your research on the internet. The major label system is not set up for artists who are not perpared to go major. A lot of artists sign to major labels and they are not ready. We came into our situation with records out and on tour. We came to Interscope as Ghet-O-Vision. You can’t stop music- it’s impossible. We were at Colombia [records] for like six months and between 2007 and 2008 and got dropped- now look what happened. You can’t stop music. It’s up to the artist and that team of where they’re going to go. I don’t anticipate any hang-ups because I have a great team. I didn’t go there by myself, I went there with Ghet-O-Vision. We’re ready.

AllHipHop: You say Ghet-O-Vison is ready. That’s your record label so let us know what you guys have cooking up.

Yelawolf: After we jump off tour, we’re going to jump back in the studio and do Trunk Muzik: 0 to 60. Just a release for the people. We’re going to remix, remaster and put three to five- I don’t know -how many records on there. It will be a release with Ghet-O-Vision/Interscope. After that we’ll put an album out.

AllHipHop.com: What can listeners expect on this project?

Yelawolf: I’m just going to be giving people what they want. I’m not trying to steer away from Trunk Muzik, I’m [turning it on] to on 10 and keep evolving from there. 808 rhythms, chopping, rap s**t, some s**t to ride to. Always try and keep in mind that I’m trying to do something timeless. Classics.

AllHipHop.com: Any last words for Hip-Hop?

Yelawolf: As an artist, I’m here for the blue-collar people. I represent small towns all over the world- American and all over the world. I’m a voice for those people. I’m ready for people to accept what I’m doing and I’m ready for people to not accept what I’m doing. I’m here to stay. Welcome me. The next 10 years are going to be a lot of fun.
