Curren$y’s Jet Life compilation album, Jet World Order (Jets International/iHipHop Distribution), features both Curren$y and Jet members Trademark Da Skydiver, Young Roddy, Smoke DZA, Sir Michael Rocks, Fiend, Nesby Phips, Corner Boy P, and Street Wiz. Curren$y gives his Jet Life members a chance to shine on the album, as he only appears on three of the 13 tracks. The two Jets that take advantage of this the most are Trademark Da Skydiver and Young Roddy – they are featured on every track.
Both Young Roddy and Trademark Da Skydiver bring a meaner “Jet-Threat” flow on “Blow Up,” one of the standout tracks on the album. The production on “Blow Up” by Monsta Beatz features an imposing horn and a barrage of hi-hats to compliment the deep bass that comes and goes. Other than “Blow Up,” the production on the album is laidback, spacey, and on point with the signature Jet Life sound, which entails an old-school vibe and drums, in addition to hazy synths. Cookin’ Soul, a producer Jet Life fans should be familiar with from previous projects, produced three tracks on the album, including the standouts “Paper Habits” and “Pilots.” Both of these tracks embody the Jet Life sound and perfectly compliment the smooth flow of both Young Roddy and Trademark Da Skydiver.
Lyrically, the content is on point with what we have heard from Jet Life members in the past, including the usual topics of weed, woman, money, heading to the top and reppin’ Jet Life. The Monsta Beatz produced “Exhale” serves a microcosm for the whole album and the Jet Life movement in general, as Trademark Da Skydiver raps on the hook, “Jet-set we back again / Going hard, giving our all trying to get a win / Never stressing over chicks or ends / Light it up, inhale, exhale / Blow it in the wind.” Young Roddy then sets the scene for Curren$y’s verse by rapping, “I’m good on this plane, my main mans the pilot”. Curren$y then proceeds to make the most of his second to last appearance on the album, delivering what may be its best verse, spitting the lines “Old Burberry prints on my umbrella / High fashion weather shelter / I am flyer than Delta / Repeatedly I tell ya / Live from my wine cellar, I’m a rhyme seller / Sky dweller, ground level never.” New Jet Life member, Sir Michael Rocks, makes his only appearance on the track “1st Place” joining Curren$y, Young Roddy, and Trademark Da Skydiver on one of the album’s best tracks.
Jet World Order is a well-done compilation album, allowing listeners to get better acquainted with the other Jet Life members besides Curren$y. Through their appearances on every track, Trademark Da Skydiver and Young Roddy stand out the most and prove that the Jet Life crew’s talent is deeper than just the man in charge. Although he only appears on three tracks, Curren$y uses Jet World Order to remind the world that he and his crew really do live the Jet Life, and seemingly, their flight is far from over.

(AllHipHop News) A one-year-old boy was among the victims of gunfire that broke out in West Oakland yesterday (November 28), that sent eight people to the hospital.
The child and his father were both shot during an incident on an Oakland Street yesterday, when unknown gunmen opened fire on the crowd for motives that are not known.
A KTVU-TV news showed a van owned by rapper Kafani, that has been riddled with bullets.
According to a local news report, he was allegedly shooting a music video at the time of the gunfire, which occurred in a liquor store parking lot.
“I was not shot. News reports wrong I did not shoot a video today,” Kafani tweeted earlier this morning.
The one-year-old child is currently at Children’s Hospital in Oakland, where he underwent surgery, in an attempt to remove swelling from his brain.
Police are seeking motives as well as up to six suspects in the shootings.
The other seven victims’ injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Kafani is an Oakland-based artist who hit big with the single “Fast (Like A Nascar.”
He has recorded tracks with rappers like Too $hort, Yukmouth, Freeway and others.
In August, Kafani, who was on house arrest, made headlines for issuing a series of threats to fellow Oakland native, Lil B.
