Apparently, literal gas guzzling is a thing.
A man named Brian Taylor was caught on tape, once again, drinking gas from a fuel pump at a garage near his home.
Via the Daily Mirror:
The serial offender loves nothing better than to have a sniff or drink of petrol, before doing a little jig while high on the fumes.
Bug-eyed and ruddy faced from his bizarre addiction, he flouted his ‘no-garage’ anti social behaviour order twice in one day over the festive season.
The Mirror first reported on Taylor’s four-star thirst back on February 4, 2005. Then he had sneaked on to the same forecourt 51 times to steal fuel.
He attended meetings to beat the habit – but stank stank so strongly of petrol he was deemed a fire hazard and kicked out.
He was later caught downing four-star at an Asda garage in Middlesbrough, then doing his trademark dance.
Drivers later using pumps slashed by Taylor were often soaked in petrol.
Nine years on, he is still getting tanked up. Teesside magistrates heard he was arrested after he went to two different petrol stations in Redcar, Cleveland, and he admitted two offences of breaching his Asbo.
Guy Prest, prosecuting, said Taylor was the subject of an Asbo with specific prohibitions designed to keep him away from all petrol station forecourts.
Mr Prest said the defendant had a history of ‘attacking petrol pumps, obtaining petrol and consuming it.’ Taylor was spotted by staff at Morrisons on December 30 approaching the pumps in a bid to obtain petrol.
The same day he also went to a nearby Tesco petrol station. Police were called and he was arrested.
Taylor was given a 16-week prison sentence and told to pay £120 in costs and victim surcharge.
