(AllHipHop News) Detroit’s own Apollo Brown is set to release the new instrumental album Thirty Eight, but the Mello Music group signee says don’t call it a beat tape. The follow-up to 2011’s Clouds is being described as a bridge between Blaxploitation soundtracks of the 1970’s and Hip Hop records that used their samples.

Listeners can expect to hear funk, soul, jazz, blues, and Hip Hop incorporated into the sounds of Apollo Brown’s Thirty Eight. An early taste of the project comes in the form of the first single titled “The Answer.” Consumers that pre-order the album will receive “The Answer” as an instant download.
New York emcee Roc Marciano is the only guest artist appearing on Thirty Eight. Each physical CD comes with a 5″ inch vinyl featuring the two Marciano tracks. Fans can also buy a 180-gram vinyl. Each vinyl copy includes a 45 featuring two bonus instrumentals.
Apollo Brown’s Thirty Eight will be released May 6th via Mello Music Group.
