(AllHipHop News) There is a lot of offscreen drama happening with WE tv’s Growing Up Hip Hop. After Romeo Miller slammed the show over the weekend for allegedly mischaracterizing him and his family, another cast member sounded off about the program.
The daughter of Salt-N-Pepa’s Sandra “Pepa” Denton and Naughty By Nature’s Anthony “Treach” Criss has apparently walked away from the series too. Egypt Criss took to Instagram to announce she was leaving GUHH.
Egypt posted:
I respect myself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves me, grows me or makes me happy. It’s time for me to rise from the ashes from being falsely represented to you, the people I love most, which is why I have decided to resign from Growing Up Hip Hop. #itsbeenreal#allgoodthingsmustcometoanend#movingforward
Fellow Growing Up Hip Hop star Lil Twist had something to say about his peers’ complaints of how they were portrayed on the show. In a series of tweets on Monday, Lil Wayne’s protégé defended the GUHH production team and seemingly shaded Romeo for his grievances with producers.
Twist tweeted:
Ima keep it 100 I find it kind of fake that NOW AFTER 5 SEASONS these people talking bout how they being portrayed… I ain’t even been on a full 2 seasons these producers don’t know me like they know y’all.. y’all been in business with these folk way longer than I have….Tryna make it seem to the masses that this sh*t is all scripted and written up to LOOK like the way it’s actually being shown.. (AllHipHop News) Many Jay-Z fans were hoping to see him take part in the ongoing Verzuz battleseries on Instagram. While Hov has not committed to playing his hits on the social media platform, he did make an unexpected appearance on IG.
Famed audio engineer Young Guru was on Instagram Live with British singer-songwriter Jeymes “The Bullitts” Samuel. Then Samuel requested to speak to Jay because he wanted to know if the Roc Nation boss stole his bag with special toilet paper in it.
“They don’t know how amazing your memory is… The reason I’m saying that, Jay, is because you got an amazing memory, so don’t feign a bad memory when I tell you you stole my leather backpack with my aloe vera toilet paper in it. It was you,” said The Bullitts as Jay-Z laughed off-camera in the background.
The Bullitts added, “Look, here’s the thing. What’d you get the billionaire, greatest rapper of all time that has everything? Homemade, by his mom, aloe vera toilet paper. It was you, Jay. I went through all the suspects from the Gold Party.”
After first admitting that he had no idea what the music producer/film director was doing, Jay seemed to catch that Samuel was just trolling. At one point, the 4:44 album creator responded, “Let me ask you a question. It is a serious question. Jeymes, have you not wiped your bum since the Gold Party?”
Samuel has spent the last several weeks contacting other celebrities like Ellen Pompeo, Jessie Williams, Tiffany Haddish, Sterling K. Brown, and Jay Electronica about his alleged missing toilet paper. Jay-Z eventually told The Bullitts if he wants to know who has his backpack he needs to find out who killed Rex Mills.

(AllHipHop News) A recent video has been released by The Guardian, that shows an altercation between Ahmaud Arbery and two officers from the Glynn County Police Department.
Arbery was apparently rapping in his car in a park early one November morning in 2017.
Two cops approached him, beckoning him to come forward with him hands up. He complied. He also handed one officer, named Michael Kanago, his identification — again complying with any request asked of him.
However, while compliant, he still was frustrated because he was being harassed for #RappingbyBlack.
The video shows an angry Arbery asking Kanago, “Why were they f##king” with him? as he surrendered himself to be patted down. The pat-down was to determine if he had a weapon on him.
He did not.
This is when the Kanago said that he wanted to search Arbury’s car. Yet, Arbery put his foot down and denied the request.
A different officer named David Haney approached and before asking any questions, pulled out a taser and attempted to tase Arbery.
However, the taser was defective and did not go off. Still, Arbery (though visibly disturbed) dropped to his knees, assuming the position that so many Black men have had to do.
“I get one day off a week…I’m up early in the morning trying to chill,” Arbery told the officers as he sat on the ground. “I’m just so aggravated because I work hard, six days a week.”
Yet another officer arrived on the scene and asked what was going on. Haney admitted that he tased Arbery before he even asked Kanago if he had frisked him for a weapon.
His reasoning to tase him was that he was afraid because Arbery was so dangerous and he moved swiftly for his safety.
Before the video confirmed that Haney was exaggerating, the superior officer seemed to know that he used excessive force.
London Jae is never leaving Atlanta, a place he’s grown from a boy to man — from the streets to one of the most well-respected songwriters in the game. When it comes to music, the 32-year-old has proven over and over again his talents in the booth. Whether he’s penning songs for big-name artists or laying down his own vocals, London’s a hitmaker if there ever was one.
His ability to effortlessly create in the studio for various artists is a testament to his musical talent, adapting to each individual he comes into contact with. His creative process doesn’t typically involve physical writing, but more so the ideas flood his brain and come out effortlessly. His work ethic is unmatched, churning out at least 5 records a day since he started 5 years ago.
Aside from winning a Grammy for his collaboration with Cardi B on “Bartier Cardi” off Invasion of Privacy, London’s work transcends all genres, from pop to country to hip-hop to R&B. When it comes to his name, he states, “there’s no way around me Atlanta.” If you go back to Young Thug’s early mixtapes, you’ll see London Jae on the features.
AllHipHop caught up with London Jae via FaceTime to discuss his upbringing in Atlanta, working with Cardi B, admiration for The Dream, his favorite Lil Wayne Carter, and more!
AllHipHop: Being from the A, how has that influenced you?
London Jae: Atlanta man, this s##t’s a country by itself. Atlanta’s dope because whatever you do, it’s easy to get it off in Atlanta. Everybody f##ks with everybody, it’s always been like that. Everybody’s always cool with everybody. When I started, a lot of us started rapping together and now everyone has their own success story. All of us, from me to Young Thug to Cash Out.
AllHipHop: You came up with Thugger?
London Jae: Yes, we’re all from the same hood. It’s a lot of us but everyone made their own noise in their own way. It’s really crazy when you think about it. Every time I’m bumping them, Thug, Cash Out, Peewee Longway, we’re all literally from the same place in Atlanta. We’re from the same street in Atlanta.
AllHipHop: And you started out rapping?
London Jae: Yes, I’m still an artist. It was when songwriting made sense. I started as an artist and stumbled into songwriting. I never pursued being a writer. I fell in it like “oh s##t, I’m a songwriter.” The first record I ever wrote went insane. It went 3 or 4x Platinum, I got a Grammy.
AllHipHop: Speaking of, talk about working on Cardi B’s “Bartier Cardi.”
London Jae: Me, Cheeze Beatz and 30 Roc produced “Bartier Cardi.” Writing with Cardi isn’t writing because it’s all her, she takes over the world. It’s not like writing with other artists, it’s different. She’s going to write the record basically. I’m good at structure. It’s all her words and ideas, but I’ma make it make sense for her. Cardi’s hard, it’s like taking one of her crazy ass Instagram videos and making a song.
AllHipHop: Since you do so much, who are your favorite artists?
London Jae: My favorite artist’s probably Ed Sheeran. I listen to a lot of Ed Sheeran. I like the old Maroon 5. It’s hard for me to connect to s##t, especially music. Maybe because I do music, I know the process of making a song. There are some songs that’ll f##k you up though, it depends what mood it is. If someone died, you have a go-to song for it. That’s what I try to do myself, I want to be the go-to song for whatever this is. I want to make the record people go to when they’re happy or sad, they lost their girl. That’s how “Like I Used To” came, Tinashe was going through the situation with her ex. I walked into it, I had no idea.
AllHipHop: Did Tinashe tell you about it in the studio session?
London Jae: Nah, I could read her face. She wasn’t saying much, but that was the problem. She wasn’t saying she was sad, but she wasn’t acting like she’s happy. She’s usually always smiling, but I could tell she was trying to be happy.
AllHipHop: I know you’re working on some things for Beyonce, I recently interviewed The Dream about working on Beyonce’s “Savage” remix.
London Jae: I don’t even think she’ll let something come out without Dream knowing. They have a crazy relationship, she trusts him musically. He’s one of the few I look at like “damn, you did a lot of s##t.” I like the way The Dream carries himself musically. As a writer, he carries himself with class. You’re not going to try Dream.
Dream won’t come to your session first of all, unless there’s a deposit in his account. I f##k with that because people play so many games. They find all the loopholes in the world to do everything other than what you agreed on. You get to the point where you can dictate what you’re doing, how you’re doing it, who’s around you, you have to do it. If they see you as a puppy, they’ll always see you as a puppy until you become a big dog.
AllHipHop: When was the moment where you’re like “alright, I’m in this b##ch”?
London Jae: I always had that mentality, because I know how to gauge people. I only gauge people I know I can. I’m taking a different approach than the average person. I’m not going straight to the source, I’ma always go all the way around. Say Rihanna, I’m not going straight to her. I’m grabbing all her friends and doing songs for them. Now the conversation is, how the f##k you do all this? The artist will say “why’d you do that and not come straight to me?”
AllHipHop: You up the demand for yourself.
London Jae: Right, I make the artist understand first. You have to see me first before I ever engage. If people don’t know what you do or who you are, you get that cold shoulder. It happens like that, so I never engage with anybody. I dance all around you until you see me, then I engage. I’m not dancing nowhere near you, I’ll go touch all of your friends. Be cool with them, do sessions, kick it until you’re like “tell your mans to come over here!” Alright, that’s where I’m trying to go anyways.
AllHipHop: It’s crazy to me that all these new rappers spit off the dome.
London Jae: It all speaks to their culture. All that comes from Wayne. Wayne birthed a whole nation of rappers.
AllHipHop: You worked with Lil Wayne too, how’s that experience?
London Jae: I did a lot of s##t with Wayne. Wayne’s hard, still the best human rapper ever. Wayne flew me and Atlanta producer LoopHoles to Miami. We get in the studio, I was trying to picture myself writing a Lil Wayne song. How the f##k? He came to me like “whatsup Slime?” I’d met him before, but on something else. We’re chopping it up, he’s playing other s##t he already had.
In my head, this n#gga’s still hard. I still didn’t know what to do. How do you write songs for the best rapper in the world? He’s like “I didn’t want you writing a song Slime.” I go in the booth and figured it out. He’s so hard, it won’t make sense for me to write him a song. I’ma just melody. I’ma melody his ass to death. I’m mumbling a melody, he came right behind me like a machine gun. s##t you’ll never see. If you aren’t there, it’s hard to explain. With me, I do freestyle type of writing. Every bar punched in. He runs straight off the top of his head. He’s just running! He f##ked me up.
AllHipHop: When was this?
London Jae: This year, a few months ago. He’s so to the tee. I did the melody humming and mumbling, he remembers the humming and mumbling. Every bar was exact to the melody. I don’t even remember the melody! We’re not going to get another Lil Wayne.
AllHipHop: What’s your favorite Carter?
London Jae: That’s a f##ked up question. [laughs] I have to say 1, because it’s raw. I’m coming off the Sqad Up mixtapes. When he put a whole body together, no way he can’t be touched. When all the Carters came out, I wasn’t an artist. I didn’t think I’d be doing this, so I’m coming straight from a fan perspective. This s##t didn’t start for me until 2015.
AllHipHop: What were you doing before 2015?
London Jae: All types of s##ts, I was in the streets for so long. What’s crazy is I used to say “there’s no way in hell I could do music. No way I could be rapping.” Fast forward, how the hell I get here? When B.o.B found me, I got signed in a week. 8 days maximum, I’m on these big tours with B.o.B. and Kevin Gates. I couldn’t believe it. I’m coming fresh off of nothing, I had nothing out.
AllHipHop: What did B.o.B see in you?
London Jae: I have no idea, I asked him that before. He said he heard a song, I think he’s lying. He said he heard a song and asked who I was. Funny story, he called me 6 times. I kept blowing him off. He’s like “yo hold on, don’t hang up. This really Bob, I’m with Yung Fresh [Bankroll Fresh]. We’re shooting a video.” I get to the mall, I see a crane. I’m like “oh s##t, he’s serious.” I get out the car, Fresh goes by in the G-Wagon. I turn around, he tells Tip “bro, I told you he’s going to pull up.” In my head, why’d Fresh say that? I had no songs out, but Fresh knew I knew how to rap. Them first Thug mixtapes, I was on there. That was the only thing, minus songs with Rich Homie Quan.
AllHipHop: You quoted Nipsey, a “successful street n#gga touching my first mils.” What’s his influence on your career?
London Jae: Nip was bigger than he knew he’d ever be. A lot of Nipsey songs when you really listen, f##k! It’s an emotion you can’t control. Man, I never get to see this n#gga anymore? I used to bump into him all the time because I was tied to Tip for a while. Whenever me and Tip did an LA show, Nip would come out and kick it. I wish we could get Nip back. I have to talk to God, he needs to stop leaving people we don’t need.
50 Cent got tired of being trolled and called on for somebody to beat Lushsux up over his paintings.
Most people assumed Fif was just joking around and he probably was, but lush assailants were not.
“Unfortunately, some 6 or 7 smoothebrains at one time on the street already put me in hospital already this month because of this s##t,” Lushsux said. “I dont like to bring up all the bad stuff I have to deal with just to paint some ha ha funny you laugh now images on walls but I guess now is a chance.”
Lushsux said he constantly has to watch his back on the street as he paints, cuz people are constantly coming up to him to cause trouble.
Despite being hospitalized over his artwork, Lushsux vowed to continue his mission of painting on the walls to get some good laughs.
“It’s tiresome, but it will not ever stop me doing what 99.8% of what everyone else seems to for the most part get a hearty chuckle out of, because they aren’t sociopathic pieces of s##t,” Lushsux said.
(AllHipHop News) The graduating Class of 2020 were just entering their first year of high school or college (depending on where you graduated from) the last time that Kid Cudi dropped an album, Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’.

He extends the same vibe but elevates it with a whole new vibe with the current single.

(AllHipHop News) “Twilight” actor Gregory Tyree Boyce and his girlfriend have been found dead at his home in Las Vegas.
The 30-year-old, who played high school student Tyler Crowley in the 2008 movie, was supposed to be in Los Angeles last week visiting his daughter.
According to reports, his cousin noticed the actor’s car was still outside his pad, so he decided to check in on him.
That’s when he found the bodies of Boyce and his girlfriend, Natalie Adepoju, and called the police.
The cause of deaths are pending and a police investigation is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the late actor’s mother, Lisa Wayne, has taken to social media to reveal Greg was “in the process of starting a wing business, West Wings,” adding, “He created the flavors to his perfection and named them after west coast rappers: Snoop Dog, Kendrick Lamar, Roddy Ricch, The Game, etc.”
She adds: “I can say that my son was my favorite chef. He was on to something great and that was his passion.”
Boyce’s acting career was short-lived – after appearing in “Twilight,” he went on to star in a short film titled “Apocalypse.”
(AllHipHop Features) The death of Ahmaud Arbery is not the only one, but it does represent something that continually perplexes those that care. Quite simply, it states that unarmed Black people can be harassed, beaten, killed, and even hunted by mere civilians. The case is still unfolding, but one group has been the most vocal about armed defense against people like Gregory and Travis McMichael. The father, a retired police officer, and the son stand accused of hunting and murdering Ahmaud in the streets of Brunswick Georgia.
Grand Master Jay is the leader of the NFAC, a group that exists in stark contrast to the normal response to vigilantism, police brutality, and outright domestic terrorism. The NFAC descended on Brunswick, Georgia with a show of force so powerful, social media viewers mistook them for the Black Panthers. In this heavily edited transcript, Grand Master Jay, an outspoken military man, explains his theories on why Arbery was hunted, the scene on the ground not explained in the media, the KKK presence, and why the NFAC exists at this moment. Full audio to the interview with Chuck Jigsaw Creekmur is below.
How Ahmaud Arbery Was Hunted…
Now for everybody who’s listening to my voice that knows nothing about gator hunting, who knows nothing about hunting in the swamps, this is how it’s done. It takes three people. You have one person who’s the driver and he’s the shooter. You got another guy who’s in the back, on the flatbed, he’s the spotter. He’s going to tell you where the prey is at. And you got another guy who follows him in case the prey goes the other way. That’s called a hunting triage. That’s what they did to him. So we go, so first thing is you all lying. Because there’s no way he could have known. There’s no way that you saw him from the house. And on top of that, it meant he didn’t just run up the street. My man had to cut through somebody’s yard to get on the other street. Which means you all was chasing him. There’s more to this story.
How The NFAC Pulled Up On The Scene
Okay. Now let me give you the last piece. Of course, you’ve seen this by now. But what we did realize is these good old folks were so unaccustomed to seeing melanated people in their neighborhood, that the moment we pulled up, even though people was bringing flowers and balloons and sentiments. The moment we pulled up, since we didn’t have no flowers, we didn’t have no balloons, we didn’t have a bible. We had guns and we had bullet proof vests, and we looked like we were in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Because all of us are ex-military. Every last one of us is ex-military. We are not making this up. This is what we do. They called the police immediately. And I would say the police were there within, I would say two minutes. I would have thought there would have been a police presence there, in the neighborhood, because of the media attention. And the neighborhood was completely empty when we got there. Like a regular day, like wasn’t nothing popping. Like this is not a big deal. When the police came, they came in the same way we did. They came down the same street. So there’s only one way in. I’m going to be honest with you my brother, but when Billy Bob and the good old boys saw what was down there, down the street, that’s another conversation, they would not engage us.
They wouldn’t even come near. They, matter of fact, their superiors came out, the police chief came out, the head of the criminal interdiction team came out. All of these big dogs came out and they pulled their boys out of there. They said, you all not going to win with these guys. The way we had, we blocked off the streets. You’re not coming down here and we’re in combat position. We ain’t breaking no laws. You all do it all the time. Okay. But this is black militia now while Shar and her people are doing they journalist sh#t. Okay. But what I notice was I can see how the boy got in trouble. Because the white lady who watched us get out our cars, she jumped on her phone immediately. They talk to each other if someone enters the neighborhood.
The KKK Presence:
So make a long story short, they have a relationship. They’re all members of the same Klan unit. Okay. And to prove it, while we were there the Klan showed up. But let me tell you what’s funny about the Klan down south. Because they don’t hide. The brothers (KKK) up in a burgundy Gran Torino with a sticker that said, The Grand Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. So they had to come out and see these boys. They had to come see us. But when they saw us, they too stopped at a certain distance, turned around and drove away. Again, this is a sundown town.
What Is The Message The NFAC IS Sending:
The second piece that you alluded to, was the message that we were trying to send. And the message is very, very simple. We tried marching with you, we tried singing with you, we tried voting with you, we tried talking to you. We talk round tables. We done sat down and had coalitions. We drawing up endless, useless resolutions. We propositioned 10 points to the president that never went nowhere. We’ve asked for the creation of a department of justice, department that handles race-related shootings. Never happened. So guess what? You all wanted to make America great again? The America that you’re trying to recreate is the America of the ’60s and ’50s. And we’re still trying to live in the America of the ’20s. Well since you all don’t want to seem to act like you’re in the ’20s, 2020, we going to act like we in the ’60s too. We going to take it back to what our people used to do.
You see some of you all are trying to be MLK. And we look like Malcolm. But you all keep forgetting what MLK said. White people always want to throw up in your face the “I Have a Dream” speech, as if that was the pinnacle of MLK’s, his work. But in 1968, he went on NBC and said, I feel that my dream has become a nightmare and that we have integrated into a burning house. And they killed him for that because he started to wake up. He realized we didn’t just need equal rights as human beings, we needed financial equality. We needed a place to stand as ourself and get ourselves together. They don’t want that.
So guess what? If you all can do it, we can do it too. When people hear about the NFAC – The Not F###### Around Coalition – that’s exactly what we are. Okay. So that all that other s###, you all can have that. Our message is very simple, we’re done. We’re done with you all. Point blank. We’re not trying to start nothing. We’re responding to what is happening to us. That boy getting shot down in the street, they beating a 14 kid, a grown-ass man beating a kid on the ground. They letting people out for social distancing but they head cracking. You know they shot the boy in Indianapolis 17 times -shot down until the gun was empty.
How much do you all expect us to take? Malcolm said be courteous and kind. But when they put they hands on you, you send them to the hospital or the morgue.
On The State Of Black Leadership:
So as far as leaders, we don’t have none. As far as we’re concerned. Because leaders can do two things. Number one, they can speak to power with consequences. Number two, they can also marshal their people to stand behind that decision. That’s what the leader does. Second, they can also build relationships with other like-minded leaders, who probably ain’t got nothing to do with it but they going to back you up. I’ll give you an example. If something happens to a China person, a person from China in the United States, China got a problem with it. If something happens to someone from Latin America, they got a problem. They’re a country that’s going to speak up. Yet of the 56 countries on the continent of Africa, if something happens to Chuck Creekmur right now for going to the 7-Eleven to get a mask. Now you shouldn’t be out, you should have been social distancing. But you went anyway because you need to get something. If something happens to you, no one speaks for you. No country is going to be in an uproar where the United States feel like we got to fix this. It doesn’t happen.
Last Words:
Let me leave you with this, Chuck. I find it commendable when I see things in the news about, for instance, Jay-Z wrote a letter. Okay. I thought it was commendable that T.I. and those guys went down to the courthouse. Good. And I find it admirable that folks still want to express their rage on social media. But folks, if that’s all you do, they going to look at you and say, “See what I told you? That’s all they going to do.” We’ve added another layer to it. You can expect to see us in your city, soon. We ain’t just going to keep sitting back doing… You all keep it… We’re not telling you all going to do what you all do. That’s cute. But we not about cute. We are the NFAC, The Not F###### Around Coalition. Please and blessings my brother.
In court documents filed earlier this week, Damon Dash’s new power attorney Michael S. Traylor ESQ labeled Brown and Bunn as nothing but extortionists.
“This action is brought on behalf of [Bunn] by [Damon’s] nemesis attorney Christopher Brown who continues to bring or threatened spurious litigation… and who has had a long, contentious relationship with Dash which began at a deposition where insults were exchanged,” Michael S. Traylor said.
Christopher Brown also represents a filmmaker named Josh Webber, an author named Edwyna Brooks, as well as Monique Bunn, who is a veteran shutterbug hired by Damon to do a photo shoot for his Poppington brand in April of 2019.
Monique Bunn said she spent the night at the Roc-A-Fella founder’s house with his partner Raquel Horn, and that is when the trouble started.
The first dispute arose over a trip to an Apple store, where Monique Bunn allegedly purchased $3,000 worth gear for the shoot, which was supposedly approved by Raquel Horn.
Later that night, Bunn claims Damon walked into her room, grabbed her breasts, and rubbed her butt without permission, as he stood covered by nothing but a robe.
The next day, Monique Bunn said Damon must have sobered up because he was p##### off over the credit card charges and decided.
In retaliation, Damon allegedly decided to keep some of Bunn’s equipment, including a hard-drive with thousands of rare, valuable Hip-Hop photos.
However, in new court filings, Damon Dash has blasted the lawsuit as a conspiracy to extort money out of him on baseless legal grounds.
Damon Dash is asking for the default judgment to be vacated because the case should be heard in California and not New York – if at all.
“Simply put, this action has no place in this court or perhaps any Court. Included in these allegations is a fantastical story of alleged sexual assault…the allegations mysteriously arose immediately after [Bunn] was caught making unauthorized purchases with [Damon’s] credit accounts and confronted about same on video which revealed she was in possession of the ill-gotten gains.”
Damon Dash also maintains he was never properly served because Christoper Brown sent a process server to the wrong address.
“I was not personally served with the pleadings in this manner, nor was
substituted service made upon me, individually and/or on behalf of Poppington, LLC,” Damon Dash said.
Damon Dash’s lawyer also accused Christopher Brown of abusing the court system by filing irrelevant accusations against him – in hopes of garnering media attention.
Damon Dash is planning to seek relief for defamation due to Christopher Brown’s conduct, which he insists falls outside of the scope of litigation privilege.
Last month, Christopher Brown celebrated and taunted Damon Dash, after the mogul was ordered to pay the lawyer’s client Edwyna Brooks $300,000 over claims he illegally streamed her movie “Mafietta” and ruined several deals.
Looks like the rumor mill is still circulating when it comes to DaBaby and singer, DaniLeigh dating during this pandemic. Many started questioning their relationship after fans noticed something about their recent social media posts..
Apparently, on Monday, DaBaby posted selfies in a ski mask while chilling on his hotel balcony in West Hollywood. Soon enough, fans noticed DaniLeigh sharing a video of herself on what looked to be the exact balcony! Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not.
There’s no denying the on-screen chemistry the two had on their “Levi High” video collaboration. Was there a spark off-camera as well? Dani continues to deny that they are a couple in a recent interview with Chicago’s, Kendra G, on IG Live.
“Everyone thought me and Chris (Brown) were a thing,” she replied, in response to dating rumors with Breezy after their “Easy” collaboration.
(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj hesitated to jump on the remix to rap newcomer Doja Cat’s “Say So” hit because she initially “couldn’t catch the beat” of the track.
The hip-hop stars’ catchy collaboration earned the artists their first number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 last week, but Nick admitted she initially wasn’t sure how to tackle the tune, so she took her time before agreeing to feature on the single.
The “Anaconda” hitmaker revealed the news on Twitter as she cleared up gossip suggesting she had been begging Doja Cat’s team to let her record the remix.
Explaining how the track came about, Nicki wrote, “I guess I never answered this & I c u guys chatting.
“I got a text from josh @ my label saying they got a request from her label. About 2 weeks later, I got another text from Jeff @ mngmnt (management). I sat on it (the song) for a while cuz I couldn’t catch the beat for the life of me really.”

She added, “I was in full quarantine/hiatus mode. No social media. Had no clue what was going on in the music world.”
Landing Nicki Minaj for the remix was a dream come true for Doja Cat.
She previously revealed on North Carolina radio station Kiss 95.1 FM, “It (collaboration) was a conversation for a long time. And I was like, ‘This is who I want, this is who I want. Please God, please, please, please.’ And it just happened.”
Nicki Minaj’s remix helped to propel “Say So” up the Hot 100, making chart history as the first collaboration between two female rappers to top the countdown, beating Megan Thee Stallion’s new track with Beyonce, “Savage (Remix),” to number one.
(AllHipHop News) So far, the Verzuz series on Instagram Live has included battles highlighting producer vs producer, songwriter vs songwriter, singer vs singer, and rapper vs rapper. There was even talk about the first contest with a woman (Alicia Keys) competing against a man (John Legend).
However, the Verzuz audience has yet to see one group take on another group. That could change. While talking with his partner Timbaland, Verzuz co-curator Swizz expressed interest in seeing Atlanta-bred R&B quartets 112 and Jagged Edge go head to head on IG LIve.
“[Jermaine Dupri,] keep that same energy. Jagged Edge versus 112. Can you make that happen, JD? Because a lot of people say what they want to see. But can you pick up the phone and make that happen? I would love to see Jagged Edge versus 112. Get them on the phone, JD. Let’s go,” said Swizz during the Instagram Live broadcast. Timbaland then added, “Come on now, don’t play no games.”
Both Jagged Edge and 112 rose to national prominence in the mid-1990s. After signing to Dupri’s So So Def label, JE rattled off hit records like “Let’s Get Married,” “Promise,” and “Where The Party At.” Bad Boy Entertainment’s 112 hit the Top 20 with songs like “Only You,” “Cupid,” and “Peaches & Cream.”
Swizz and Timbaland also discussed other Verzuz dream matches such as Maxwell vs D’Angelo, Lauryn Hill vs Mary J. Blige, and Missy Elliott vs Pharrell Williams. Timbo called on Fat Joe to step into the arena too. Meanwhile, a Verzuz event with Snoop Dogg and Busta Rhymes appears to be on a path to taking place.
