Trouble In The West House?

(AllHipHop Rumors) For Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, quarantine life may not be going as smoothly as we’d assume.

The celebrity couple is reportedly on bad terms. How bad? They’ve apparently claimed their own personal spaces in their lavish abode – living in opposites sides of the house.

Whether being inside for so long is getting to them mentally, or not, the two have allegedly been arguing nonstop for 2-3 weeks now.

One can understand how a change in lifestyle can have an effect on people. One source has opened up about Kim not getting used to the homebody life as she was also on the go.

And that the actual alone time she’s spending with own kids is a major change for her. Thus making her parenting skills clash with Kanye’s laid back approach.

Other sources claim that Mr. West isn’t as helpful around the house and especially not with the kids!

(AllHipHop News) “$10mm to @REFORM Alliance to get PPE to every prison and jail in America, all towards their mission of reforming the criminal justice system. Watch this and #AnswerTheirCall,’ tweeted Jack Dorsey on Monday.

The Twitter CEO is reinforcing the nonprofit organization in delivering personal protective equipment (PPE) to individuals at risk of contracting coronavirus inside penitentiaries. Many correctional facilities have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Of the top 10 COVID-19 hotspots in the US, 8 are linked to prisons and jails. The goal is to help ensure the incarcerated population, correctional officers, healthcare workers, & personnel working state, federal, & private facilities are protected from COVID-19 exposure,” posted Dorsey.

The founder of Square also teamed with Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation and Big Sean’s Sean Anderson Foundation to donate $3.2 Million in COVID-19 response grants to organizations in Michigan. Plus, Dorsey and Rihanna donated $4.2 million to the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles to assist domestic violence victims affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

In addition, REFORM Alliance released a public service announcement featuring 20 people discussing what they will do once the coronavirus quarantine is over. The 73-second clip also offers testimonies from callers facing the heath scare from behind bars.

Drake Ties Madonna For Most Top 10 Songs On The Hot 100

(AllHipHop News) Drake once again cemented his name in Billboard chart history. The Toronto-raised entertainer just pulled into a first-place tie with iconic Pop singer Madonna in the record books.

The Dark Lane Demo Tapes track “Pain 1993” featuring Playboi Carti debuted at #7 on the latest Hot 100 chart. Drake now has 38 entries in the Top 10 region which is the same number held by Madonna.

“Toosie Slide” is still among the 10 most popular tunes in America (#4) as well. All 14 songs from Drake’s Dark Lane Demo Tapes mixtape made it onto this week’s Hot 100. He has 15 total songs on the chart at the moment.

“Pain 1993” is Playboi Carti’s first Top 10 song. The Atlanta rhymer has 8 Hot 100 entries in his career. Previously, he peaked at #29 in 2017 with the 3x-Platinum record “Magnolia.”

Doja Cat & Nicki Minaj Both Earn Their First No. 1 Single With “Say So”

(AllHipHop News) Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj won the week-long race for Number One on Billboard‘s Hot 100. The neophyte and the veteran’s “Say So” single climbed five positions to take the top spot.

The “Say So” remix gives featured act Nicki her first #1 on the Hot 100 after 109 career entries on the chart. She now holds the record for the longest wait for a first Number One.

“Say So” is also Doja’s first Hot 100 topper. This is her third chart entry. The Hot Pink track is also #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and Hot R&B Songs chart.

“I love you so much. Omg. Barbz you’re just . You just never cease to amaze me. You never stop making me proud. I saw everything u guys did this past week. Barbz & Kittenz made history. Love you @DojaCat thanks for thinking of me for this moment. What time r u showing ur boobs?” tweeted Minaj.

Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” remix featuring Beyoncé climbed from #4 to #2 on the Hot 100. The 1-2 positioning for “Say So” and “Savage” mark the first time the Hot 100’s Top 2 is controlled by two female rappers as lead artists. Meg tweeted, “I’m happy to be apart of the history that was made today.”

Cam’ron Hints At “Paid in Full” Sequel

Eighteen years ago, co-producers, Jay Z and Dame Dash, along with the director, Charles Stone III, gave us “Paid in Full. Starring Mekhi Phifer, Cam’ron and Wood Harris, the film centered on three notorious drug dealers from Harlem. Overall, the film gained a cult-like following over the years and has had many asking, “when is part II dropping?”

Well, it looks like the wait might be over soon as Cam’ron recently hinted at a possible sequel in a recent interview on IG Live.

Since the film’s initial success, Cam’Ron really hasn’t discussed the possibility of a sequel. But maybe this quarantine has his creative juices flowing once again. In the IG Live clip, seen above, and right before the interview with J1 of Pandora ended, Cam hinted at  “something similar to Paid In Full 1.”

He continued, “I been asked this question several times, and I had to tell people ‘No. Not that I know of.’ This is the first time I’m giving you a possibility of a yes.”

UMG Partners With African Label The Aristokrat Group To Blow Up African Artists

(AllHipHop News) Olivier Nusse (Universal Music Group) and Piriye Isokrari (The Aristokrat Group) are about to make a big splash with their new venture.

The two executives have announced a partnership between Aristokrat Group and Universal Music Group to discover the hottest developing acts out of Africa.

Fueled by the success of artists like Burna Boy and so many popular Afro Beat artists, the new deal hopes to expose the giftedness of the continent to a larger global audience.

“This is an exciting time for African musicians, producers, and companies such as ours,” says Isokrari, The Aristokrat Group’s Founder and CEO.

He continued: “Over the last decade, we’ve been at the forefront of cultivating this sound and building sustainable structures locally and we are happy to be able to bring our music and culture to the global market through this partnership with the Universal Music Group.”

“I am very proud that Aristokrat Group has chosen Universal Music France as its strategic partner to reach a global audience,” Nusse says Universal Music France’s CEO.

First stop for the label? Nigeria.

The first recording artists signed to the label are Kel P and Jujuboy Star.

Kel P is a highly respected Nigerian producer, who worked with Burna Boy on his Grammy-nominated album African Giant. He recently worked with Wizkid on his Starboy, The Soundman Vol 1 EP. Jujuboy Star, on the other hand, is a promising Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer.

Aristokrat will also be releasing Tneeya, a Cameroonian singer and songwriter, that is special in her own right — and so talented that the people are calling for her to drop like NOW.

The roster will be signed and distributed in partnership with Caroline France, a Universal Music France label.

“Aristokrat is one of the most important voices in Africa right now. The quality of their A&R, their artistic and creative vision and

entrepreneurship is both unique and progressive,” Bertil David, MD, Universal Music Publishing France, said. “We are very proud at UMPG to be able to partner with Aristokrat to help them achieve the global presence they deserve.”

Aristokrat represents the spirit and the sound of New Afrika, with more than a decade of experience in developing young African talent.

This strategic partnership consists of both a label deal, as well as a publishing deal through Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG).

The hope is that through this collaboration, they will further discover and develop African songwriters, artists, and producers globally, and to maximize creative and collaborative opportunities for its talent worldwide.

The first publishing signings are Kel P, Jujuboy Star, and Saszy Afroshii, a fast-rising female producer from Lagos.

Birdd Luciano Talks “Toxic Love” & Relationships

Birdd Luciano is up next out of Chicago. Growing up on the West Side of the Chi, the singer and rapper trades the streets for the studio by creating hood love anthems for listeners all across the world.

He describes himself as having “a very different approach on delivering music,” creating music for the past few years and most recently unveiling visuals.

His newest single “Toxic Love” is based on a real life love story that is far from perfect — relatable across all fronts. The new release hails from Birdd’s highly-anticipated forthcoming debut project called Ghetto Blessings, which represents all the emotional pain in a stressful relationship. Regardless, his smooth vocals and honest lyrics come in clutch during these sunken times.

Birdd also reps his Qualified Sound Artist (#QSARecords) movement loud and proud. AllHipHop caught up with Birdd Luciano to discuss his sound, his new single, his Top 5, and more!

AllHipHop: How would you describe your sound?

Birdd Luciano: I’d describe my sound more like trap/soul. I want to personify to trap/soul what Chris Brown is to R&B. I don’t want to necessarily put myself in a box with my specific style because I do listen to everything. I’d also include melodic flows as part of my sound because most of my hooks dominate the song.

AllHipHop: Growing up on the West Side of Chicago, what was the household like growing up?

Birdd Luciano: My grandmother and grandfather raised me and I actually had a decent childhood growing up. My grandparents definitely raised me right.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B_TnuyVHIyg

AllHipHop: You say “you can’t do this s##t in your sleep,” how long have you been recording?

Birdd Luciano: I’ve been recording since about 2015. I started as a hobby just recording with my friends. Music became real to me when I dropped my 2 two singles. They did pretty good on YouTube, I instantly was one of those faces as far as local rappers.

AllHipHop: Who or what inspired “Toxic Love”?

Birdd Luciano: My own personal life and past relationships. The video itself is a very realistic view of how many relationships are, most of my female fans loved that video.

AllHipHop: Best memory from the video shoot?

Birdd Luciano: The model in the video who wanted to go with me after the video shoot. LBS!

AllHipHop: What’s one thing you want listeners to get from Ghetto Blessings?

Birdd Luciano: I want to take them into my world for a minute, paint them a picture of my struggles and pain hoping to help the next if they can relate. I love telling stories in my music and bringing my fans into my mind and personal world.

AllHipHop: Who’s in your Top 5?

Birdd Luciano: Meek Mill, Juice WRLD, Yo Gotti, Jay Z, Chance The Rapper.

AllHipHop: What can we expect next?

Birdd Luciano: You all can expect this flood that’s about to come dropping visual after visual. There’s also another EP on the way, stay on the lookout for that. We’re expecting to shoot a video with Hood Brat from my upcoming single “Top Shottas.” She actually posted a video on her IG of her rapping the song.

Future Sends Subtle Diss To Eliza Reign After Shocking DNA Test News

(AllHipHop News) Over a year of debate has passed since we first heard about the issue of paternity between Atlanta rapper, Future, and his jump off Eliza Reign.

With the super-sperm-having rapper vehemently denying that he could be the father of Reign’s daughter, fans have lined up on two different sides of the case — wondering what was taking the judge so long to get her Maury one.

Future has dragged the woman, a former promoter that had booked him for shows, through the mud.

That really is whatever, since she knew who he was when she got with him. We all did, because it was in blog-after-blog and evidenced by baby-mama-after-baby-mama (specifically Ciara who escaped the blasted situation and found her happily ever after with a true prince charming).

But what is probably worse, is that this child (his seed) lived in lack because he was upset with her mom (and how she chose to disclosed their dealings).

But now, amid quarantine exacerbated by COVID-19, a DNA test result came in: YOU ARE THE DADDY.

A subversive post made by Eliza Reign posted to Instagram on Mother’s Day said it all. The caption said simply, “Humble.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CADp_1tJVwr

The Freebandz owner took to Twitter to post Happy Mother’s Day wishes to his children’s mothers — all of them except for Reign— in a series of subs that seem suggest how upset he feels about the verdict or the confirmation:

“Happy Mother’s Day India..such a great mother and always putting the kids 1st..u keep me sane and I’m forever grateful for u,Thank u”

“Thanks for holding my PRINCE down Britt, your love for your kids is amazing and I thank u for staying on top of the business..Happy Mother’s Day”

“Happy Mother’s Day Ci..Baby Future is Life,Preciate u”

“My son Kash mother…real one. Cut frm a different cloth! Happy Mother’s Day baby k”

“Joie thank u for being an incredible mom…u holding it down! Real one, stay solid HAPPY MOTHERS DAY”

“Paris your mom deserve it! Happy Mother’s Day mami”

“KING PLUTO”

“U want the best for me and I want the best for u…”

“Keep it 1000.”

“Love who u love.”

“Um FRM ah whole different WORLD”

While those flurry of tweets were yesterday, these new ones really speak to his venom towards Reign, who has publicly aired her grievances about Future denying her child.

Future is right “these hoes” should “keep they business off the internet.” No word from the rapper ifs someone needs to also teach these male “hoes” to keep their penises in their pants.

The child, Reign Wilburn, is not one and will one day grow up to read that her father said that she was a “check baby” and refused for months to acknowledge her as his own.

Gospel Legend’s Daughter Can’t Get Enough Of Megan Thee Stallion!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Ever heard the term “in the world but not of it?” Clearly, Kierra “Kiki” Sheard has.

Kiki, the daughter of talented and genre-breaking gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard, appeared on Terrel Rice’s YouTube show, Terrel @ Home (a COVID-19 inspired spin-off of staple ‘word association show’) and let us know that just cause she loves Jesus — don’t mean she don’t know what’s poppin’ in these streets.

With a voice as beautiful as an angel and as legendary as her mama’s tackled a riff-ready version of Meg thee Stallion’s#### song, “Savage.”

The viral song lifted off to the heavens as a popular Tik Tok lip-sync, but ain’t no lip-syncing going on here. Terrel gives KiKi the platform and she basically throws down.

In addition to Savage, she also took a stab at Beyoncé “I Woke Up Like This” anthem.

She did censor herself and was responsible in her rendition, careful not to say stuff that would be a little much for the saved singer and finished with another Destiny Child’s song.

Kiki told Rice that she is enjoying her time during the coronavirus because she is not only being productive with her career but is currently basking in the anointed glory of a #1 album on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart with Kierra.

The millennial embraces her gospel roots but she is clearly influenced by the musings of Hip-Hop culture all around her. Son, she is a Detroit girl —she not corny.

Ludacris, MGK To Give “Sage” Advice To Class Of 2020 During Commencement Celebration

(AllHipHop News) Because colleges across the country have canceled their commencements because of the novel coronavirus, so many of the senior activities were botched including Spring Break and graduation ceremonies.

Natty Light has created a little sum sum to bring some joy to the students. They will be throwing a Worldwide Commencement celebration on their social media platforms so that the party can go on and these leaders can look back on the sacrifice of the last 4 years with some joy.

Who will be giving remarks?

Glad you asked because the list is incredible: names like Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, sports commentator Stephen A. Smith, actress Jane Lynch, Barstool Sports CEO Erika Nardini and artists Ludacris and Machine Gun Kelly will power up to drop gems on the young adults.

And because the brand is of course super generous (or corporately genius), they are hosting a sweepstake for someone to win a year’s supply of Natty Light, to stay appropriately nice.

Fans have the chance to win Natty for a year by tweeting #NattyCommencement and #Sweepstakes.

Rapper Nick Blixky Murdered In Brooklyn

(AllHipHop News) Promising rapper Nick Blixky has been pronounced dead, after being fatally shot in Brooklyn, New York, on Sunday night (May 10th).

The up-and-coming 21-year-old, real name Nickalus Thompson, was found on Winthrop Street in the borough at around 9.30 pm after suffering gunshot wounds to his torso.

A video clip which appeared to be of the aftermath of the shooting was uploaded on YouTube, with the footage showing a body on the ground while police arrive.

“He look like he dead,” a witness can be heard saying. “Seven times he got shot.” The witness also incorrectly alleged that the police were responsible.

Following the shooting, Blixky was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where he was later pronounced dead.

After the tragedy, a man called Nasir Fisher, who claims to be Blixky’s brother, took to Facebook to pay tribute to the late musician.

“my heart broken,” he wrote. “rest in peace to my brother nick blixk. watch over me brody.”

Blixky had been due to release his debut mixtape, “Different Timin” on June 3rd.

Rich The Kid Hit With Lawsuit Over Unpaid Jewelry Bills

(AllHipHop News) Rich The Kid took time this weekend to question how 6ix9ine could declare himself the King Of New York when he cooperated with law enforcement in the racketeering case against fellow Nine Trey Bloods. Days later, Rich is back in the headlines for his own supposed troubles.

TMZ reports the rapper born Dimitri Roger is facing a $234,800 lawsuit from Peter Marco Extraordinary Jewels of Beverly Hills. The celebrity jeweler accuses Rich The Kid of not fully compensating him for specific items.

Legal documents apparently suggest Rich and Extraordinary Jewels have been doing business together since 2017. However, Marco claims the New York-born, Atlanta-raised rapper continuously ordered jewelry but stopped paying for the pieces.

The diamond necklaces, crosses, and Patek Philippe watches in question are said to be worth several hundred thousand dollars. Apparently, the 27-year-old Boss Man album creator wired some money to Marco before the payments ended.

Extraordinary Jewels also reportedly sued Offset in 2019 for $47,000. That suit asserted that the Migos member had unpaid fees for jewelry from an October 2018 transaction. Supposedly, Set paid $63,000 on a $110,000 bill and still had a $47k balance with the store.

Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Suga’ & Doja Cat’s ‘Hot Pink’ Reach New Peaks On The Album Chart

(AllHipHop News) As the scramble for the #1 song on the Hot 100 between Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat comes down to the wire, both women reached new milestones on the Billboard 200. The two burgeoning entertainers have seen their latest projects rise up the rankings.

https://twitter.com/DojaCat/status/1257896926252433408

Megan’s Suga EP climbed three spots to #7 on this week’s Billboard 200 chart (39,000 units). Her previous peak was #10 which was achieved with Suga in 2020 and the Fever mixtape in 2019.

Doja has a new career Billboard 200 zenith too. Her Hot Pink album broke into the Top 10 for the first time this week by jumping 10 spots to #9 (37,000 units). The rapper/singer’s previous high was #17 back in March.

Both Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion’s respective ascents on the Billboard 200 benefited from high-profile features on new versions of hit records. Doja’s “Say So (Remix)” featuring Nicki Minaj and Megan’s “Savage (Remix)” featuring Beyoncé dropped days apart and are projected to take the top two spots on the next Hot 100.

Drake’s ‘Dark Lane Demo Tapes’ Debuts At No. 2 On The Billboard 200 Chart

(AllHipHop News) Drake found himself in a very unfamiliar position. Billboard revealed the Top 10 placements for its latest album chart, and Drizzy’s Dark Lane Demo Tape is the runner-up this week.

Country singer Kenny Chesney’s Here and Now landed at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 233,000 equivalent album units. Drake is one spot behind with 223,000 equivalent album units.

Dark Lane Demo Tape is Drake’s 12th Top 10 release of his career. However, this is the first original, full-length project from the Toronto rapper/singer to not debut at #1 on the Billboard 200.

https://twitter.com/OVOSound/status/1258431091662258177

The 2009 mixtape, So Far Gone, was added to streaming services in 2019 and opened at #5 with 45,000 units. Last year also saw Care Package bring in 109,000 first-week units which were enough for the compilation of previously released loosies to take #1.

Drake did not classify Dark Lane Demo Tape as an official album. The commerical mixtape is a collection of tracks that were already released or leaked on the internet mixed with a few new songs.

All five of Drake’s studio LPs launched at the top of the Billboard 200. He also earned Number Ones with the If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late mixtape and More Life “playlist” as well as the What A Time To Be Alive collaborative mixtape with Future.
