(AllHipHop Rumors) 50 Cent and French Montana go way back! Remember when 50 “found” where DJ Khaled’s mom worked and they recorded her sleeping on the job? Well, it was reportedly the one and only French Montana that provided that video footage to 50 Cent. Well, many years later, the dudes have gone off and turned into enemies! I am not sure where this came from, but French Montana posted himself leaving the hospital in a “new” car. French said “new Buggatti,” but it seems like 50 Cent saw it differently than the rest of us. He went straight at French, saying that the”new” Buggati was actually about 10 years old.

This year’s “Rap Up 2019” sees Skillz condensing the highs and the lows of 2019 into a 4:58 second track.

On his 17th annual “Rap Up,” Skillz calls out The Patriots, R. Kelly, Gucci and even Jussie Smollet for calling himself the “gay Tupac.”

Eddie Murphy Says “Coming To America” Sequel Will Make His Daughter A Star

(AllHipHop News) Eddie Murphy can’t wait for fans to see his daughter in the “Coming To America” sequel, because he’s convinced she’s going to become a star.

Bella appears alongside her father in the film, which will be released next Christmas, and Murphy can’t stop gushing about her.

“She is playing one of my daughters in the movie; one of the African princesses,” he beams. “She’s got fight scenes and all this cool stuff to do. She’s a really good little actress and I’m really proud of her.”

Eddie reveals the idea for a sequel to the comedy classic came about after Tracy Morgan attempted to sell Murphy on an idea for a new film.

“There was talk about a play or a series but never a sequel,” he explains. “About seven years ago I got a Mark Twain award and Tracy was trying to do something about a guy who goes back to Africa to marry a girl just like I did in ‘Coming to America.’ Then I got a better idea and the guy who directed ‘Black Panther,’ Ryan Coogler, was interested and pitched a sequel. I thought, ‘Maybe I should try and get something together’.”

It took Murphy four years before he had something “that made sense and was funny… and not contrived” and he’s convinced he’s onto another winner: “It’s so f##king funny. We got most of the cast back and Wesley Snipes, Morgan Freeman and Tracy Morgan.”

Kanye West Celebrates “Sunday Service” On Skid Row

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West celebrated a year of his Sunday Service gospel events over the weekend on Los Angeles’ Skid Row.

The rapper held the first anniversary of the weekly music and praise concerts at the Union Rescue Mission shelter in one of the poorest areas of the city, and took the mic to talk about widespread homelessness, claiming he had a “vision” for a solution to the problem.

“I definitely saw a strong, compelling vision with the homeless problem and I know that we can find a solution, a worldwide solution,” he said, revealing he and tech entrepreneur Elon Musk had discussed the issue.

Announcing that Sunday marked “one year of Sunday Service,” the Stronger star added, “We had no idea that we were gonna be here on the 52nd week… Thank God. This thing saved my life. This thing was an alternative to opioids, this thing was an alternative to pornography.” 

Swae Lee’s Ex-Girlfriend Denies She Wants A Hitman To Kill Rapper

(AllHipHop News) Swae Lee’s ex-girlfriend has backtracked after placing a $20,000 bounty on the rapper in exchange for his life.

In a clip shared online on Saturday, the “Sunflower” star’s former lover Marliesia Ortiz appears to be recording close by Swae’s property.

Marliesia says she tried busting out his windows as she taunts him for being “broke,” while Swae, real name Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown, seemingly tells her to leave.

In the caption attached to the video, which appears to have been shared on Instagram, she wrote: “Someone kill him I got 20k cash for you.”

The video ends with Swae leaving the scene.

After the footage went viral, however, Marliesia shared another post on her Instagram Stories, insisting: “I was mad and meant nothing I said. We good now u guys can chill.”

It’s unclear if Swae was made aware of the threatening post, or if cops were called for the incident.

The former couple has had a rocky relationship in recent months, with the hitmaker’s girlfriend being arrested in September for allegedly head-butting the star. However, no charges were filed in that case. 

Rich Homie Quan Beats Drug Charges

(AllHipHop News) The felony drug possession charge against rapper Rich Homie Quan has been dismissed after more than two years.

Back in 2017, the hip-hop star and his entourage were stopped at a police checkpoint on their way to Club Liquids in Wadley, Georgia, and a subsequent search of their vehicle reportedly turned up a stash of marijuana and ecstasy, as well as a stolen firearm.

Rich Homie Quan, real name Dequantes Lamar, was one of the six men taken into custody on suspicion of possession of a stolen gun and drugs, and he was later hit with felony possession of drugs with intent to distribute charge.

However, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the case has been tossed, with the 30-year-old star’s lawyer Lucy Bell revealing it was dismissed due to a lack of evidence.

She added the “tiny amount of marijuana” was in somebody else’s pocket and the Flex star was wrongfully accused – leaving him facing a potential 30 years in prison.

(AllHipHop News) Jarad “Juice WRLD” Higgins lost his life on December 8 from an apparent Percocets overdose. In the wake of the 21-year-old’s death, many people in the Hip Hop community are focusing on how drugs are negatively affecting the current generation. 

Trippie Redd pledged on Instagram “we ain’t doing it no more,” and Vic Mensa recently placed blame on rap music for Higgins’ untimely passing. Plus, Memphis legend Juicy J offered a personal apology for any role he may have played in glorifying narcotics.

“If I inspired anybody to do drugs I apologize,” tweeted Juicy J on December 28. As a member of Three 6 Mafia, the rapper/producer helped popularized the promethazine/codeine drink known as lean with the 2000 single “Sippin’ on Some Syrup” featuring UGK and Project Pat.

Juice WRLD was not the only Hip Hop act to die from drug-related causes in recent years. Lil Peep, 21, succumbed to fentanyl and Xanax in 2017. Ten months later, Mac Miller, 26, reportedly overdosed on a mixture of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol.

Lil Durk Reportedly Denied Entry Into The Bahamas

(AllHipHop News) Chicago-raised rapper Lil Durk was set to perform in The Bahamas on December 28. Unfortunately, he was not able to enter the West Indian island nation.

Fresh Entertainment Bahamas was bringing the artist born Durk Derrick Banks to Nassau for the “Fresh Unwrapped” concert. However, the company announced the event was canceled with all tickets being refunded.

Several outlets are reporting that Lil Durk was turned around at the Lynden Pindling International Airport. Apparently, his open criminal case in America was the cause of the denial.

Durk was arrested in May in connection to a February shooting near Atlanta’s famed Varsity restaurant. He was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and unlawful association with a criminal street gang.

A Fulton County judge granted a $250,000 bond in the case. Durk was freed from jail and purportedly required to wear an ankle monitor at all times. The 27-year-old Love Songs 4 the Streets 2 creator has insisted he did not commit the crimes he is accused of in Atlanta.

(AllHipHop News) Sergio “Gunna” Kitchens’ 2019 began with him promoting his debut studio album Drip or Drown 2. The year is ending with Young Thug’s protégé/collaborator facing accusations of being an informant for law enforcement.

Baton Rouge-based rapper TEC took issue with Thugger’s Spider clothing brand because of its similarity to his Spider Nation label. He went on Instagram Live to call out the Atlanta-based YSL crew.

Gunna reportedly responded by commenting, “And u better do the history on this case a n*gga smoked.” In addition, TEC began trolling the “One Call” performer and his YSL boss by suggesting his followers take part in a “snatch ah rapper purse challenge” which seems to be a reference to Gunna and Young Thug’s affinity for wearing handbags.

Cardi B’s ‘Invasion Of Privacy’ Named Most-Streamed Female Rap Album In Spotify History

(AllHipHop News) When Invasion of Privacy was released in 2018, it instantly topped the Billboard 200 with 255,000 first-week units. Cardi B’s debut studio LP has spent 89 weeks on the chart and earn 3x-Platinum certification from the RIAA.

According to Chart Data, Invasion of Privacy recently surpassed 2.8 billion streams on Spotify. It is reportedly the most-streamed female rap album in the history of the service.

Invasion of Privacy has broken several records. It collected the most audio streams ever in a single week by a woman at the time of its release. All thirteen tracks on the project have been certified gold, platinum, or higher by the RIAA, making Cardi the first female artist to reach that milestone.

Cardi B is currently working on her sophomore album. Over the last year, the Bronx-raised rapstress let loose the singles “Please Me” with Bruno Mars and “Press.” She was also featured on songs by artists such as Offset, Lil Nas X, Blueface, Ed Sheeran, French Montana, and Fat Joe.

CupcakKe Reportedly Signs $8 Million Deal

(AllHipHop News) In September, CupcakKe announced she was quitting the music industry and social media. She made that declaration after reportedly being hospitalized for depression and suicidal thoughts at the top of the year.

CupcakKe returned to Twitter last month and hinted that she may be making more music in the future. In a new tweet, the 22-year-old rapper informed her followers about a supposed new contract.

(AllHipHop News) Rap star Kanye West is refusing to ante up any money to an adopted child whose parents claims he used her prayer without paying him.

In February, the parents of a child they adopted identified as Natalie sued Kanye West over his song “Ultralight Beam.”

“Ultralight Beam,” which is on Kanye’s#### album The Life Of Pablo, features an amazing prayer spoken by Natalie.

According to the lawsuit, Alice Johnson, the girl’s biological mother, gave Kanye permission to sample Natalie’s prayer, but she had no legal rights to do so.

But Johnson was not the child’s legal guardian. And she never signed a written licensing agreement, and no one has received a payment from Kanye West.

Now, Kanye West is arguing he shouldn’t have to pay anything at all in new court documents obtained by AllHipHop.

Kanye claims he used the prayer on his record before Natalie filed for the proper copyright registration.

The rap star’s lawyer said the prayer was first published on January 20th, 2016.

The parents claim Kanye’s infringement commenced on February 14th, 2016, when he released The Life of Pablo album with “Ultralight Beam.”

The effective date of registration for the copyright on the little girl’s prayer is April 21st, 2016, over two months after the release of Kanye’s album.

“The Copyright Act precludes a plaintiff from obtaining statutory damages and attorneys’ fees if the infringement of the work commenced after publication and before the date of registration,” argued Kanye’s lawyer Katie Mellen.

Kanye West has denied all allegations of wrongdoing and is asking a judge to dismiss the lawsuit.

The news comes on the heels of two brand new religious-themed albums from Kanye West, Jesus Is King and his most recent Jesus Is Born.

Internal Investigation Launched Over Arrest Of DaBaby

(AllHipHop News) A police department in Charlotte, North Carolina is investigating the actions of two officers who arrested rap star DaBaby.

DaBaby made a triumphant return to his hometown on December 23rd during a stop at the Bojangles arena.

Unfortunately, DaBaby ended up getting arrested after the show during a confrontation involving officers from the North Tryon Crime Reduction Unit and the Providence Division Crime Reduction Unit.

The cops claimed they said they saw marijuana in plain view inside of his white Dodge Charger when he went through security checkpoints to enter the venue before his performance.

The detectives claimed they allowed the rapper to perform and tried questioning him when he hopped off the stage.

The police claim DaBaby became confrontational and that’s when they claim they legally searched his vehicle.

DaBaby maintain the cops were unfairly targeting him, and he posted video footage of two officers peering into his car while he was performing.

According to a spokesperson for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police department, an investigation has officially been opened into the incident.

“The CMPD has launched an Internal Affairs investigation to determine if Officers followed department policies and directives during the incident,” said a CMPD press release.

DaBaby blasted the cops for targeting him, after his worldwide success over the past year with two standout albums, Baby on Baby and Kirk.

“Someone died last night while the police department wasting resources and officers to harass me in attempt to make a bad example out of me,” DaBaby said. “When in reality, i’m the most positive example the city of Charlotte got. Especially for anybody in the streets of Charlotte and the KIDS.”

Offset Hangs Out With LL Cool J On Set Of “NCIS: Los Angeles”

(AllHipHop News) Offset is more than just a rapper, more than just a fashion designer, more than just an entrepreneur… he’s now an actor.

The news was recently revealed that the Migos member will be guest-starring in the television series “NCIS: Los Angeles” on the show’s 11th season.

The “Clout” rapper was recently on set hanging out with various cast members and preparing to play the role of an undisclosed character.

The crime-fighting action-drama show is no stranger to celebrity appearances.

The show’s official Twitter account, which boasts 529K followers, recently tweeted pictures from the set with Offset alongside LL Cool J, who plays Sam Hanna in the show.

The tweet reads: “”Let’s go. Let’s ride.” @OffsetYRN joins @LLCoolJ on set for an upcoming guest star role on #NCISLA. Stay tuned…”

Offset is seen rocking a skeleton t-shirt and baseball cap, with LL also casually dressed for the photo opp.

We’re not sure if Offset was just hanging out to be familiar with the set, or if they actually filmed.

Two Teens Plead Guilty In Murder Of Rapper Young Greatness

(AllHipHop News) Rest in peace, Young Greatness.

The New Orleans rapper was shot back in October 2018, as a result of an armed robbery gone wrong.

Young Greatness, real name Theodore Jones, was on the rise in his rap career thanks to his hit song “Moolah,” when he died at the age of 34-years-old.

The news was recently revealed that two teenagers have plead guilty to the shooting of Jones, which leaves their alleged accomplice facing the possibility of standing trial alone.

On December 16th, 19-year-old Donny Maxwell admitted to charges of manslaughter, armed robbery, obstruction of justice, as well as conspiring to commit the latter two.

Two months prior, 17-year-old Lovance Wix also pleaded guilty to the majority of those charges.

He only acknowledged firing a gun in the Waffle House parking lot illegally.

After this plea, Orleans Parish Criminal District Court Judge Camille Buras slapped Wix, who was 16 at the time of the crime, with a 20-year sentence.

Maxwell is currently in jail awaiting his sentence, and he faces up to 40 years in prison on the manslaughter conviction and 99 years for the armed robbery.

A 39-year-old named Donald Reaux remains as the lone defendant.
