(AllHipHop News) Today (December 18) is the day that Daniel “Tekashi 6ix9ine” Hernandez is expected to learn his legal fate.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for this morning after the Brooklyn rapper pled guilty to multiple federal charges and testified against his co-defendants.
Tekashi and several people connected to him submitted letters to the judge in the case asking for leniency. However, two other people issued impact statements laying out how they were traumatized by 6ix9ine’s violent acts.
Tekashi testified that the NYC incident was part of a revenge hit against Rap-A-Lot Records, but the two individuals that were actually attacked had nothing to do with the James Prince led label.
“I am [ex-military] and seen my share of violence but never have I been so scared as the cold, hard metallic gun was pressed against my abdomen,” wrote a 33-year-old African American man about the confrontation. He added, “Why should this person, who nearly ended my life, be free when I am not free?”
6ix9ine faces a maximum of life imprisonment.
There is a mandatory minimum sentence of 47 years for his racketeering and firearm charges, but federal prosecutors requested that the judge consider a reduced sentence because of Hernandez’s cooperation with the government in convicting other members of the Nine Trey Blood gang.
(AllHipHop News) Jarad “Juice WRLD” Higgins was recently laid to rest at a private funeral following the rap star’s tragic death on December 8. It appears his estate will have to deal with a $15 million copyright lawsuit despite Juice WRLD no longer being here.
According to reports, Yellowcard temporarily put its suit on hold following Juice WRLD’s passing. However, the pop-punk band is moving forward with the case by reportedly extending the defendants’ time to respond to the lawsuit from December 9, 2019 to February 4, 2020.
The legal complaint is over Juice’s breakout smash hit “Lucid Dreams” which the plaintiffs claim uses “melodic elements” of the song “Holly Wood Died” without permission. Besides Higgins, Yellowcard is also suing co-writer Taz Taylor, producer Nicholas Mira, publisher BMG Rights Management, and record label Grade A Productions.
“Lucid Dreams” re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 this week at #8 after peaking at #2 on the chart in 2018. The song has spent 47 weeks on the Hot 100 and has been certified 6x-Platinum by the RIAA.
Describing himself as “a person who made it out of Brazil, and is a multi-Platinum producer now.” the 22-year-old is having a standout year.
For one, his beat for Polo G’s “Pop Out” featuring Lil Tjay has gone 3x Platinum, while Lil Tjay’s breakout hit “Brothers” also goes Platinum.
Teaching himself both English and how to make beats, JD has a relentless work ethic.
He also has a crazy story, revealing that he’s almost died 6 times — but won’t explain why. JD plans to save that for his documentary and book down the line.
AllHipHop: How did that happen (Polo G and JD on the Track linkin’ up for “Pop Out”)?
JD On Tha Track: After I made the beat with my brother Iceberg (Beatz), I sent the beat to Maria who’s an A&R at Columbia. I sent it to Polo and Lil Tjay, one of ‘em. I don’t know who got it and who actually put it in (or put it out), but somebody got it and made it happen.
AllHipHop: I’m a huge fan of Polo, his entire album is fire.
JD On Tha Track: Exactly, Polo has some deep music.
AllHipHop: Did you have any placements before that?
JD On Tha Track: Yeah! Way more. I got a bunch. I got some with NBA Youngboy. I got some with Quando Rondo.
AllHipHop: How did you get in with YoungBoy?
JD On Tha Track: I sent a pair to Carl, who is his DJ. That’s how I got it. With Quando, he texted me his phone and I started sending him a bunch of beats for him. A bunch of packs and he was hopping on all of them. At first, I was sending them to his email, but after that, he’s like “yo, send them to my phone.” So I started sending them to his phone.
AllHipHop: Have you met him?
JD On Tha Track: Not yet, but it’s going to happen real soon I feel. Oh, I also got a Platinum plaque for “Brothers,” so that’s 4x’s. I got a Gold plaque for Die a Legend, that album by Polo G which is going to be Platinum soon.
AllHipHop: Damn, at 22! How do you feel?
JD On Tha Track: I feel great! It’s a wonderful feeling. I’m the first Brazilian ever to make this happen, first producer to make it out of Brazil. To hear a producer do what I do, get to all these placements I’ve been getting and get plaques, I’m the first-ever. So I feel like I can open doors to a lot of people in Brazil. I can be like a king in Brazil, and open doors to a bunch of people.
AllHipHop: What is Brazil’s hip-hop scene like?
JD On Tha Track: It’s getting bigger now because it wasn’t that big. But everyone sees out here as an inspiration and motivation. They look up to here, to the artists out here and everything. We’re getting bigger now but to be honest with you, I don’t even listen to Brazilian music. I just don’t feel it like the way I feel it here.
AllHipHop: Growing up, were you always listening to American music?
JD On Tha Track: Exactly. Since I was a kid, I was always listening to Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Eminem. Of course Eminem, that’s one of my favorites. If I had a Top 5, he’s definitely on my list. 50 Cent, The Game, I used to listen to him back in the day. That’s a legend for sure! Akon, Chris Brown, all of them who were poppin’ back in the day, I was listening to them. I used to ride around in the car with one of my cousins, he had a big speaker on his car and that’s one of the reasons how I got into it. I discovered Eminem and all them by myself, but my cousin used to listen to rap too so he got me into a couple of artists.
AllHipHop: How did you get into producing?
JD On Tha Track: I always wanted to be a part of this music thing, always. I’m like “man, I’ve got to do something,” then I found FL Studio (Fruity Loops). This was 7 years ago, I was 15 or 16. I didn’t even know nothing about the program at all, nothing. I started to go crazy, I started to learn everything about it. All-day, all night, on it.
Looking online for tutorials, everything. I used to look up to Lex Luger, Southside, Nard & B, DJ Spinz, who was really poppin’ back then. I mean, they still are. But I started looking up some videos and I got into it. I swear, I was all day and all night trying to learn and trying to get better at it. All I was doing was that. I was getting home from school, the first thing I did was get on it. The last thing I was doing before sleep was music. I was in it every day, all day, all night.
JD On Tha Track: There’s a lot to talk about, really. If I were to talk to you about everything, it would take days and days. One of them is that I almost died 6 times in my life. I’m not going to get into it, but it was 6 times. It’s too deep for me. The actual happenings, it’s crazy. I’m just going to say that I’m here for a reason and I feel like I got God by my side at all times. All the time. Instead of saying angels, I’ll say guidance. I feel like I have a whole bunch of guidance with me, guiding me all the time. I survived 6 times and I’m blessed to be here.
AllHipHop: What brings you out to LA?
JD On Tha Track: At first, it was work. I also wanted to know how the city is, the vibes out here and all that. Because I’ve been to Miami, New York, Atlanta, and now here. I love Miami, but I plan on moving here soon from Atlanta.
AllHipHop: What made you go to Atlanta?
JD On Tha Track: Just wanted to see how the vibes were. The music scene and everything.
JD On Tha Track: 46 is not just a random number. My full name is Joao Victor Alba Duarte. Joao has 4 letters, Victor has 6 letters, Alba has 4 letters, and Duarte has 6 letters, so everything together is 4,6,4,6. And everything together is 4. I was born on June 4th, so that means 4,6, 6,4. That’s really my number and also, I survived 6 times.
AllHipHop: What can we expect next?
JD On Tha Track: A bunch of new plaques. A bunch of new hit songs. A documentary, a movie, a book coming.
AllHipHop: What’s the book going to be about?
JD On Tha Track: My whole life, all the things I’ve experienced. I will put everything in the book: all the details, everything. I want to do everything because the story of my life when people are going to see it, they’re going to be like “that’s incredible. This dude is incredible.” Because it’s not just about the music, but about my life. What I have been through, what I go through, and also what I have learned. Because I have learned too many things that I can teach people. I want to teach a lot of people, a lot of Brazil people who want to come here how to move. Because it’s different.
AllHipHop: What’s the biggest culture barrier coming to America from Brazil?
JD On Tha Track: I think the way people are, it’s different. If a Brazilian person comes here in a Brazilian way, he’s going to be looked at different. I know how to move here already. I know how to deal with ya’ll already. So if a Brazilian person comes here with their style and all that, I have to tell them how to be and how to interact in a certain way. But I got too many other things to teach them like the game, how the industry is.
AllHipHop: How’s the music industry for you?
JD On Tha Track: I don’t want to handle the business part of the music, that’s the most annoying thing. I just want to make the beats and be happy. All the other stuff, I don’t want to be involved. All the business parts…
AllHipHop: Did you know “Brothers” was gonna be a hit?
JD On Tha Track: I had a feeling for “Brothers.” I ain’t going to lie, I had that feeling. In my opinion, Lil Tjay is one of my favorites. Because his flow, the pain… he’s so fire. He’s 18, he’s got so much more potential to keep going like that. We’re just getting started though. We have a bunch of songs together. But I did have that feeling for “Brothers,” I really did. That was special. The lyrics, the beat, and everything together, it’s a whole care package of good music right there.
AllHipHop: Is there anyone you want to work with that you haven’t yet?
JD On Tha Track: Drake, Travis Scott, and Post Malone. I got a bunch. Ty Dolla $ign, Juice WRLD, Meek Mill, Quavo.
(AllHipHop News) Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine may get his freedom when he is sentenced tomorrow (December 18th) for running with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods and raising hell throughout New York City.
But today (December 17th) on the eve of his sentencing, several of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s victims submitted impact statements, calling in hopes Paul A. Engelmayer will give the rapper some prison time for his crimes.
6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, is hoping to get off with time served, since being locked up in November of 2018 as part of a RICO case against 12 members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.
As AllHipHop has reported, Tekashi 6ix9ine has provided the Feds with an unprecedented level of cooperation against Nine Trey, in hopes of avoiding a 37-year sentence in Federal prison.
A publicist named Skyy L. Daniels said she was inadvertently caught up in Tekashi 6ix9ine’s beef with Rap-A-Lot Records in April of 2018 when she was robbed at gunpoint.
The cops later recovered her belongings in 6ix9ine’s house in Brooklyn, but the whole calamity has left Daniels mentally scarred.
Skyy Daniels said she fled New York, and Texas because she was scared 6ix9ine and his crew would find her and kill her.
“I went as far as to leave Texas, hiding in the home of a close friend to avoid the watchful eyes of Tekashi69’s network,” Skyy L. Daniels wrote.
Skyy’s unnamed assistant said he was robbed by Tekashi 6ix9ine and his associates outside of 50 Cent’s offices in mid-town Manhattan in April of 2018.
“Upon exiting THISIS50.com studios in Midtown, I along with Skyy was assaulted at gunpoint by a group of masked men. I am ex-military and seen my share of violence but never have I been so scared as the cold, hard metallic gun was pressed against my abdomen,” one victim’s statement read.
“As much as I want to say how fast it happened, I cannot because in that moment, my life flashed before my eyes. I was not going to be able to say goodbye to my mother… All I thought was, ‘What did I do to deserve this?’ What was moments seemed like an eternity burning in fiery pits as I was frozen and watched my compatriots by assaulted and robbed along with me,” the unidentified victim wrote to Judge Engelmayer.
According to the Feds, one victim who was struck in the foot during a July 16, 2018 shooting in Brooklyn intends to speak at the sentencing hearing.
Peep Skyy Daniels’ full letter:
Dear Your Honor,
I am contacting you today to discuss the impact of a traumatizing situation, I, long time international Publicist, , professionally known as Skyy L. Daniels, and my assistant publicist, survived after being attacked, robbed, and possibly almost kidnapped by high-profile rapper, Daniel Hernandez, aka Tekashi 6ix9ine and his associates.
Tekashi 6ix9ine and his Nine Trey Gangster Bloods were convicted for committing several brazen acts of violence around New York City including a robbery that took place on April 3, 2018.
I was targeted by Tekashi69 but the whole thing was a sad case of mistaken identity. In a nutshell, their intended target was a record label out of Houston, Texas, Rap-a-Lot Records and some of their representatives, who I later learned that there was some kind of industry/street beef between Tekashi 6ix9ine/Treyway and J. Prince Jr./Rap-a-Lot.
When the robbery occurred, they came in yelling in the building lobby, get on the ground, F*ck Rap-a-Lot. I feel I was a target perhaps because I am from Texas and Rap-a-Lot has contributed to my community charitable events in the past and the label, like many other labels, are listed on my curriculum vitae. However, my assistant, had no such affiliations at any capacity.
As a career entertainment publicist for nearly two decades, I have been connected to a great deal of famous record labels, artists, athletes, public and political figures.
During the robbery, my backpack was stolen. It was filled with expensive high-end personal items and several important business confidential hard drives that I have yet to see again. My backpack was later recovered in Tekashi 6ix9ine’s home along with the cell phone he filmed the actual incident with himself. This is documented and sworn information per Federal Agents, FBI investigation reports, and all of the court transcripts and testimonies.
As a result of this entire ordeal, I have suffered greatly from mental anguish and emotional distress. So traumatized by this aftermath, that over a year later, I have had a difficult time getting past the incident suffering from what we believe is post-traumatic stress disorder. To add insult to injury, he released the video of me escaping from the clutches of his thugs on social media and it went viral accumulating millions of views as the public laughed. I am a mother and grandmother first and it is so hard to describe what it feels like to survive that occurrence.
Ever since, I find myself unable to do the simple things an adult should do. It’s easy for me to block out my feelings and avoid things that make me uncomfortable. I have emotional, mental and financial problems as this uncomfortable situation has left me displaced without work. I went as far as to leave Texas, hiding in the home of a close friend to avoid the watchful eyes of Tekashi69’s network.
Over a year later, I find I am always scared of people… I cannot be in large crowds for long periods of time. I am constantly worried that when my friends are on the internet they are going to come across the video of me running for my life, escaping the foyer where the gunmen rushed us. This thought, along with me leaving behind my assistant and client, fills me with disgust, shame and embarrassment. I am humiliated and ashamed that this was turned into a viral joke by Tekashi69 for filming off his home, while his thugs did his dirty work to me, a grandmother and my gay assistant.
Everywhere I go I feel judged. I am living in fear each day as the news promotes his release I am more fearful. I had terrible nightmares for a long long time. I would wake up sweating and crying and go to children for comfort. I still get flashbacks sometimes. There are thoughts in my head that are memories of the things that I am about to die. My heart races and I will feel sweaty and then a stronger picture will pop up in my head and I become paralyzed with fear, unable to leave my home once again. With the videos still garnering views, its like I can’t escape, no matter where I am.
I also fear for my assistant who lives in Brooklyn.
Because I’ve had so many bad dreams, I find it hard to sleep when it’s dark. I like to keep the lights on thinking that will protect me from bad dreams. I hate scary movies and sometimes have nightmares for days.
Sometimes I have unreasonable fears that prevent me from doing the normal things.
I had to quit a job I was very successful at. I have had over 20 years working with all sorts of entertainers. Not once have I ever been put in a situation where myself or my team, my clients are in any kind of danger. I am appalled and disgusted by this evil person that is Tekashi69.
[I] had a [job] as a waitress because there was a guy who I thought was always staring at me. I couldn’t stop thinking, did he recognize me? Did he see my pictures somewhere? I was simply too uncomfortable to keep working there.
I am extremely frightened and can no longer successfully work in the music industry and I have since discontinued taking on new clients. I lost the client who was with her in New York; after the robbery he cancelled their contract immediately. My entire career and my assistant and lifelong dreams were destroyed as a result of this horrific event. I have been struggling to get back on my feet.
Financially, I was ruined, which has caused a great deal of stress. I need counseling but unable to afford it. Presently, I am on various anxiety medications and sleep aids. Sadly, I am unable to eat at times, unable to sleep, having nightmares, and has also been suffering from depression.
How much is my life worth? How much was my assistant’s life worth? Did I deserve to die, hundreds of thousands of miles away from my grandchildren? I feel that Daniel Hernandez, Tekashi, is liable and should be held legally and monetarily responsible for emotional distress, damages, losses and so much more. I pray that you can find it in your heart to help this innocent grandmother and recent widow and young man find peace from this entire ordeal and get my life back.
Sometimes the past does really come and bite you in the ass.
Last night, Love & Hip-Hop: New York returned with some of everyone’s past fan favorites, including Erica Mena and her husband, Safaree.
Erica and Safaree’s storyline seems like it will center around them preparing for their new baby, their wedding, Erica’s concern for their future, and her wanting a prenup.
Supposedly Safaree proposed to Erica and Love & Hip-Hop: Miami star and ex-girlfriend Gabrielle Davis with the same ring. Earlier this year, Davis posted screenshots of a conversation between the two stating he was not marrying Mena and still loved her (Davis). Ouch.
Erica and Gabrielle exchanged a few subs on Twitter, but of course Erica stayed with her man and continued with the wedding.
Monday night, Gabrielle shared an interesting sub on her Instagram story. She posted, “You Can’t Turn A Hoe Into A Husband.” Hmmm, I’m guessing she’s still feeling a type of way about the situation.
I’m assuming as closer as the wedding got, Erica got nervous and wanted to protect her brand. On Monday’s season premiere, Erica and Safaree met up with her lawyer to discuss a possible prenup, unbeknownst to Safaree.
The Jamaican rapper insisted he and his future wife further discuss this privately and expressed how he wants his legal team involved as well. I mean, I guess that’s reasonable, right?
But we have to keep in mind this episode was probably filmed around the same time the allegations were brewing so we can only assume for the time being.
What y’all think? Do you think Erica is smart for asking for a prenup?
Lawyers at Reed Smith are fighting back, saying 50 still owes them over $600,000 in delinquent legal fees.
Now they are objecting to 50 Cent bringing Rick Ross into case as several key hearings approach.
“Jackson has had years to take Ross’s deposition in the vain hope of finding any scintilla of fact that would support the allegations in his complaint, filed almost three years ago, about what Ross would have said if called as a witness during the 2015 trial in the Leviston matter,” snapped Thomas G. Rohback, whose firm Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP represents Reed Smith.
First off, the hunt for Rick Ross, born William Leonard Roberts II, should be called off because he lives in Georgia and Florida.
Therefore, 50 Cent’s lawyers’ motions to compel Rick Ross to testify should have been filed in the district where the deposition would be taken – Georgia or Florida.
“If Jackson were serious about actually obtaining this testimony, he could have—and should have—sought it in the appropriate courts months ago,” Rohback added.
Rohback is asking the judge to abandon the search for Rick Ross and order and allow the discovery phase to continue with Rick Ross on December 20th.
If Reed Smith’s lawyer has his way, the case should be wrapped up by January 31, 2020.
(AllHipHop News) Boosie was targeted by two thieves who broke into his Bentley to steal some pricey jewelry.
Boosie had his Bentley SUV parked outside a Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen near Atlanta yesterday (December 16th).
Two suspects working together targeted Boosie’s car.
One man smashed a passenger side window of the luxury SUV and made off with $70,000 worth of rings and necklaces.
One of Boosie’s associates named B-Will caught the tail end of the incident and gave chase on foot, but the bandit hopped into a waiting vehicle and fled the crime scene.
According to TMZ, the entire robbery was caught on tape and police are reviewing surveillance footage to try to find the suspects who have Boosie’s jewelry.
Half the internet is here for Lizzo’s expected twerk sessions for the gram while the other half are simply tired of it.
The “Truth Hurts” singer has been vocal about not giving a f*ck what anyone has to say about her, her size, or what she chooses to do.
Even when one of the top fitness trainers tried to come for her saying we don’t need to focus on the fact that her health is at stake, she came back with another video shaking everything she loves about her body.
Many think she has made her point and that she should slow down with the twerk sessions. She’s being called distasteful and disrespectful especially with the stunt she pulled at the Staples Center.
I get where Lizzo is coming from. I’m sure she was probably told awful things before about her size and given all types of health and nutrition tips.
Now she’s all about loving herself and embracing the skin she’s in. Sometimes we get blinded by loving who we’ve become that many can find it overbearing and obnoxious.
(AllHipHop News) The rumor mill has been full of talk that Tekashi 6ix9ine will be getting out of jail this week. After pleading guilty and testifying on behalf of the federal government against his former Nine Trey Blood gang affiliates, the 23-year-old born Daniel Hernandez is scheduled to find out his own sentence on Wednesday.
Some people are celebrating 6ix9ine supposedly coming home before Christmas while others are questioning how a convicted felon is walking away with just timed served for multiple crimes. Then there also social media users that are just as concerned about Charlamagne Tha God’s previous comments about the situation.
“If Tekashi 6ix9ine beats this case, I’ll suck his d*ck. He don’t even have to ask me,” declared Tha God on a 2018 episode of his Brilliant Idiots podcast. 6ix9ine stans, Charlamagne haters, and internet trolls have now brought that clip back up this week.
For example, Tank referenced Charlamagne’s previous comments about Tekashi’s case on Instagram. The R&B singer used the cringy quote as a delayed response to Charlamagne’s jokes about Tank saying he believes if a man performs f####### on another man twice that does not necessarily mean that man is gay.
Tank wrote in the caption, “You tried to clown me for having an opinion when the whole time you were committed to the act.. No [judgment] here.. Just wanna know how you feel after and if you’ll need a second time to really process his freedom.. ♂️ .”
Charlamagne jumped in Tank’s comment section to counteract the oral sex narrative that is going viral. The “Donkey of the Day” pundit stated, “Pleading guilty and cooperating is not beating your case furthermore why are you entering this chat??? .”
Tank replied, “@cthagod he’s coming home after facing over 10 years! That’s called beating the case. I’ll exit the chat because I really don’t wanna see you follow through with this.. .”
(AllHipHop News) Reality show veteran Tahiry Jose is back on Love & Hip Hop: New York for the latest season. However, she is already claiming the VH1 series is purposely portraying her in the wrong way.
One scene showed Tahiry meeting with her ex-boyfriend Joe Budden. During an on-screen interview with a producer, it appeared as if Jose expressed possibly being open to date Budden once again.
Tahiry quickly slammed the series on Instagram. She wrote:
YA’ll TRIED IT!!!! EDITING IS A B*TCH! #LHHNY THAT WAS NEVER MY ANSWER BUT I GUESS THATS WHAT THE WORLD WANTS TO SEE
Love & Hip Hop: New York season 10 premiered on December 16. Besides, Tahiry Jose, former cast members Jim Jones and Chrissy Lampkin also rejoined the show. Joe Budden, Cyn Santana, Remy Ma, Papoose, Safaree Samuels, Erica Mena, Yandy Smith-Harris, Kimbella Vanderhee, and Chrissy Lampkin star on the program as well.
Tory Lanez is ready to “risk it all” like his and Jacquees song says. The Canadian singer took to his Instagram to express his frustration with his label, Interscope Records.
Lanez posted that if they don’t stop playing with him, he was gonna “EXPOSE WHATS REALLY GOING ON IN THAT F*CKING BUILDING!” Uh-oh!
His latest project, Chixtape 5 is a massive success peaking at number 2 on Billboard 200.
However, according to the singer, he’s actually losing money from the album. In an interview with Hot 97, Lanez says, “We actually didn’t do this from a monetary standpoint. We did this from a standpoint of like, I’m losing money doing the album but what is gonna come out of it? Of course it’s gonna be incredible.”
“I feel like it’s damn near at a place where it’s gonna be critically acclaimed because no one ever did it before,” he goes on to say.
Well, he had much to say on Instagram about this entire situation and posted an interesting jab at his record label.
Rich The Kid also put his two cents in commenting, “I’m tellin ya” under Lanez’s post. He is also signed to Interscope records.
Fans on Twitter have all types of opinions about the situation. One in particular that keeps coming up is if the label handled the clearances for his songs on the album. Lanez sampled from Chris Brown, Jagged Edge, T-Pain, and more. I’m no expert, but I know that racked up quite a couple thousand. Unless this project had a big budget, I can see why Lanez was frustrated.
A fan in the comment section of Tory’s post expressed his concern saying, “Chill bro I ain’t tryna see you killed.” Lanez basically responded he doesn’t give a damn and what’s wrong is wrong. “That’s the difference…I don’t care. My integrity respect and the path of light that I can show the generation after me is more important that this life that n*ggas is so scared to lose.”
What y’all think? Do you think all those samples got cleared before being released?
(AllHipHop News) A$AP Rocky was one of the many rappers to perform at the 2019 Rolling Loud Los Angeles festival. While entertaining the audience in LA, Rocky had to stop his set to address a particular attendee.
At one point, someone inside the Banc of California Stadium threw a pair of boxer briefs at the Harlem native. Unlike when women throw their bras at him at other shows, A$AP Rocky apparently was not pleased by the male underwear arriving at his feet.
“I don’t know which one of y’all motherf*ckers threw this up here. Y’all n*ggas don’t be throwing no boxer briefs up here. I only want panties and bras, n*gga,” Rocky told the crowd.
TheLONG.LIVE.A$AP album creator added, “Nasty n*gga. Somebody in commando right now. Why the f*ck you threw your drawers on stage,yYou f*cking maniac?”
A$AP Rocky may not enjoy getting boxers from fans, but he is known to post photos of himself wearing Calvin Klein underwear. The 31-year-old rhymer was also the victim of meme treatment when trolls photoshopped his CK Spring 2019 spread to make it seem like he was wearing awkward-looking extended undergarments.
(AllHipHop News) Music superstars Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Pharrell Williams are in the running to earn Oscar nods. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released a shortlist for some of this year’s nominations.
Beyoncé’s “Spirit” from The Lion King is among the final 15 selections for Best Original Song. Pharrell’s Black Godfather song “Letter to My Godfather” is also in contention in the category.
In 2014, Pharrell earned a Best Original Song nomination for “Happy” from Despicable Me 2. He lost to Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez’s “Let It Go” from Frozen.
If Beyoncé is one of the official nominees for the 92nd annual Academy Awards, it will be the first time the songstress will compete for the honor. Lady Gaga picked up the Best Original Song trophy at the Oscar ceremony in February for “Shallow” from A Star Is Born.
(AllHipHop News) Many rap fans were surprised to see Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Kanye West together at Shawn “Diddy” Combs’ 50th birthday party over the weekend. The Watch The Throne collaborators had not been on the same page, publicly, for years.
According to TMZ, the Diddy-party reunion came after Jay and Ye had already reconciled privately. West’s $3.5 million legal dispute with Carter over the Tidal streaming service in 2017 was reportedly settled behind the scenes earlier this year.
Jay did address some of his issues with Kanye in several songs. On 2017’s “Kill Jay Z,” Hov said, “But you ain’t the same, this ain’t KumbaYe. But you got hurt because you did cool by Ye. You gave him 20 million without blinking. He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f-ck was he thinking?”
Jay-Z finally explained why he and his wife, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, did not attend Kanye and Kim Kardashian’s wedding in 2014, which was said to be another sore point for West. On The Carters’ 2018 track “Friends,” Jay rapped, “I ain’t going to nobody’s nothing if me and my wife beefing. I don’t care if the house on fire, I’m dying, n*gga, I ain’t leaving.”
There were also rumors that Jay took issue with Kanye’s support for Donald Trump and the MAGA movement. The Roc Nation boss’ “What’s Free” verse in 2018 included him saying, “No red hat, don’t Michael and Prince me and Ye. They separate you when you got Michael and Prince’s DNA.”
(AllHipHop News) British rapper Stormzy has slammed politicians for patronizing young entertainers after he was mocked by leading Conservative minister Michael Gove.
The grime star got involved the U.K.’s general election, endorsing the loser, Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn – an intervention that prompted Gove to quote his lyric “I set trends dem man copy” on Twitter.
“It’s the classic, ‘You’re just a rapper,'” Stormzy fumed. “Using ‘I set trends dem man copy’… No one was talking about that. I wasn’t talking about music, I wasn’t talking about ‘Shut Up’ – I was talking about politics.
“So him saying that is like he said: ‘Oh, no, forget politics. This is what he does. He’s a rapper.’ It’s a weaponized tactic. They do it to young people, they do it to black people, they do it to rappers, they do it to entertainers: ‘Just shut up and rap.’ Stay in your lane.”
The “Vossi Bop” hitmaker, who has started his own book publishing imprint and scholarships for black youngsters, went on to accuse Gove and fellow conservatives like Prime Minister Boris Johnson, of dismissing him because of his background.
“It’s very telling of who these people are,” he adds. “As much as I’m a rapper, I’ve also done X, Y, Z. But they’re dismissing everything else. They just look at me and say: ‘No.’ They reduce us to whatever they need us to be and dismiss it.”
Corbyn was trounced in the election – leading Labour to its worst result since 1935 – but the musician says he found much to admire in him.
“Choosing hope and righteousness and a person committed to helping the many, not the few, that is not a fairy-tale dream,” he explains. “They make it sound like one decision is stupid and uninformed, and the other one is smart and intelligent.
“That’s a lie. It’s funny, politics is so dark that when a shining knight comes along, we’re told it’s just a f##king dream. But ambition and a better future, a genuine kinder, better society, that is the smart choice.”

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West is reportedly taking his Sunday Service choir on tour alongside the famed pastor and televangelist Joel Osteen.
The pair recently performed together at Joel’s Lakewood Church in Texas and, according to TMZ, they’re plotting to take the show on the road across the U.S.
The publication reported the 42-year-old rapper and Joel, 56, are planning to host sermons in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Chicago, and Detroit.
(AllHipHop News) Lil Yachty’s crew unleashed their fury on a dude talking smack to the rapper in Los Angeles over the weekend.
TMZ captured footage of Lil Yachty exiting the L.A. Coliseum where he performed at Rolling Loud Festival in Los Angeles.
The rapper was caught in a verbal dispute with the unknown male, but things quickly turned violent when he lost his temper and erupted in anger.
Lil Yachty threw a punch at the guy, who attempted to run away from the confrontation, but he was chased down by the rapper’s crew, who tossed the man to the ground, where he was kicked and stomped on.
So far, there’s no word what caused Lil Yachty to explode or if the guy is going to press charges.
2 Chainz was rolling into the world-famous building with his broken leg propped up in a wheelchair when he came across the eager 64-year-old photographer.
The poor guy got too close to the Atlanta rapper, who was in no mood to be snapped by the paparazzi.
Instead of getting that perfect picture, Richard Capak got his ass handed to him.
Richard Capak is going after 2 Chainz anyway, claiming the rap star should pay for injuries he sustained during the one-sided fight, which sent him to the hospital to get treatment for minor injuries.
2 Chainz recently gave sworn testimony in the case, which he wants to be sealed and kept from the prying eyes of the public and press.
The rapper says Richard Capak’s attorneys initially had no problem agreeing to sign a Stipulated Protective Order to keep certain documents sealed.
Out of nowhere, Capak’s lawyers quit cooperating with 2 Chainz’s request for privacy according to the rapper’s lawyer Peter D. Raymond.
Raymond suspects Richard Capak and his lawyer Sanford Rubenstein want to create a “circus-like” atmosphere in the media to influence the case.
“They intend to share [2 Chainz’] deposition transcript with the press or otherwise use the transcript to generate media publicity about the case.” – Peter D. Raymond
2 Chainz’s lawyer said the rapper’s fear of a conspiracy is not unfounded since Sanford Rubenstein is no stranger to seeking publicity and media attention for his cases.
“We suspect that [Capak’s] counsel hopes that additional media attention to the case will embarrass Mr. Epps, a well-known music artist, in order to gain unfair advantage in this litigation and in settlement negotiations,” Peter D. Raymond explained.
Raymond said Rubenstein is frequently trying to gain publicity for himself as well as his clients, through appearances on T.V. shows like “Good Morning America,” “Good Day New York,” “Geraldo At Large,” “Inside Edition,” and “Montel.”
Additionally, Sanford Rubenstein has acted as a legal analyst on CNN, Fox and MSNBC and other networks.
2 Chainz is asking a judge to dismiss the entire lawsuit saying the injuries the photographer sustained were the result of his bodyguard’s actions and he’s already been convicted of the crime.
