Rapper AR-AB Convicted Of Running A Drug Empire In Philadelphia; Facing Life

(AllHipHop News) Philadelphia rapper AR-AB and three of his associates were convicted today (November 19) for running a large-scale drug operation in the city.

In October of 2018, the Feds accused AR-AB of using his “Original Block Hustlaz” record label as a front to import at least 10 kilos of cocaine from California, which were distributed around Philly.

AR-AB and Jamaal “Bionickhaz” Blanding, Jameel “Meliano” Hickson and Hans “NoBrakes Bras” Gadson made money from distributing cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin.

The rapper, aka “Philly’s Top Goon” and his O.B.H. associates became the subject of a federal investigation beginning in March of 2017.

The Fed’s say AR-AB born Abdul West, fronted the money for the drugs and ordered other O.B.H. members to commit acts of murder and violence.

Undercover agents say they purchased drugs from various O.B.H. affiliates during multiple covert sting operations.

Investigators eventually seized drugs in bulk and over $28,000 in cash during raids on four properties the gang controlled.

“West [AR-AB] and his co-defendants, members of the O.B.H. drug organization, pumped huge quantities of deadly drugs into our community while pretending to be legitimate artists and businessmen,” said United States Attorney William M. McSwain. “Drug trafficking is an inherently dangerous business, and drug traffickers ultimately deliver violence and destruction to our communities without any regard for the people living there. Our Office is determined to do exactly what we did in this case: investigate and convict these dangerous criminals and put them in prison.”

Now, each one of the defendants is facing a possible life sentence and being convicted of conspiracy to distribute drugs and other drug trafficking crimes.

(AllHipHop News) Jay-Z’s lawyers have been working overtime to defend the rap mogul’s lucrative empire.

Just last week, it was revealed his Roc Nation business settled a longstanding feud with the company that bought his Rocawear brand in 2007 for $204 million.

This week, Jay-Z’s lawyers are trying to settle a dispute with a food vendor management and beverage concession business he claims cheated him out of royalties derived by the Made In America Festival

Roc Nation partnered with a Texas-based company called Spectrum Catering, Concessions And Events, which was granted the exclusive rights to manage the food and beverage operations for the M.I.A Festival in 2017 and 2018.

Jay’s lawyers claim they caught Spectrum fudging the books by adding numerous unauthorized deductions of expenses, credit card fees, and taxes from Roc Nation’s share of the commissions on the food and drinks sold at the M.I.A Festival.

Roc Nation isn’t talking peanuts either.

Spectrum was supposed to give Jay’s company 60% of the gross sales from liquor, 42% of the money earned on non-alcoholic beverages, and all of the money made from the food trucks at M.I.A.

Earlier this week, Jay-Z’s lawyers moved one step close to ending the “beef” with Spectrum.

“The parties’ settlement discussions in this matter have become productive enough to warrant mediation,” lawyers for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation confirmed. “The parties are currently seeking to schedule a private mediation in a good-faith effort to resolve the parties’ dispute.”

In total, Roc Nation’s accountants say Spectrum owes no less than $367,844.09 plus applicable interest, costs, and fees.

(AllHipHop News) Married stars Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz headed back to Harvard Business School on Friday to stage a presentation all about the success of their personal and professional partnership.

Hip-hop superproducer Swizz graduated from the prestigious Massachusetts institution’s Owner/President Management Program in 2017, but he returned to the school last week – this time as a special guest speaker alongside his wife, Alicia.

The “Girl On Fire” hitmaker shared the news on social media on Monday, when she uploaded photos of the pair in class, as well as images of course case studies, in which they were hailed as “a power couple.”

“Friday was a powerful day,” she wrote alongside the Instagram images. “My baby @therealswizzz and I presented our case study on our lives and business at @HarvardHBS.⁣

⁣ “Professor Boris Groysberg created three case studies: one of me, one of Swizz and one of us together.⁣ That’s actually never been done before! It broke down business, leadership and how to have a successful business/life balance. ⁣

⁣ “It was fascinating seeing our lives on a chalk board. At Harvard. Being used as a case study for success. It was sooo (sic) deep, seriously, it even uncovered things for me while I was sitting there.”

Alicia Keys went on to thank Professor Groysberg for granting them the “powerful moment” and expressed her delight at getting the opportunity to address students at the elite school.

⁣ She added, “As a kid, I would’ve never imagined this!!⁣ Everything is possible!! ⁣If we can do it, you can do it better⁣. ⁣Love, gratitude and blessings.”

The musicians have been married since 2010 and share sons Egypt, nine, and Genesis, four.

T.I. Uses Jada Pinkett Smith To Explain Virginity Test On His Daughter

(AllHipHop News) Jada Pinkett Smith has confirmed T.I. will appear on her Red Table Talk show to address his controversial comments regarding his daughter’s virginity.

The musician, real name Clifford Harris, made the controversial comments on the “Ladies Like Us” podcast, co-hosted by singer Miguel’s wife Nazanin Mandi.

He explained how important it is to him that his daughter Deyjah Harris waits for the right time before having sex.

“Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now, and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation (about sex), we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen.”

He added: “I will say as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact.”

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the American Film Institute (AFI) Fest in Hollywood on Monday, the star announced the “Whatever You Like” hitmaker was set to discuss the remarks on her Facebook Watch series.

“My next big guest is Tip. T.I. is coming to the table. Yes indeed,” she said. “And of course, he’s going to address the controversy that has been swirling.”

Confirming the episode had already been recorded, Jada continued: “We just shot that today… And then he and (his wife) Tiny sit down and talk about how they survived, in regards to their marriage.”

While T.I. has yet to address the controversy, Tiny shared a string of eye-roll emojis when a fan asked about the musician’s daughter’s wellbeing.

Deyjah also doesn’t appear to have taken her dad’s comments well, with the teenager – whose mother is singer Ms. Niko – unfollowing him on Instagram and Twitter.

The snub came after she liked several tweets calling the Live Your Life star “possessive”, “controlling” and “disgusting”.

The Game Recruits Pregnant Women For ‘Born 2 Rap’ Cover Art

(AllHipHop News) In 2008, The Game dropped LAX which featured his two sons on the cover. For his latest album, which is due out on November 29, the West Coaster wanted unborn children for the artwork.

On Monday, Game debuted the Born 2 Rap cover art on his Instagram page. The image shows nine pregnant women in a studio as the emcee writes lyrics on a notepad.

“The concept behind this photo goes way beyond what you see upon 1st glance & I absolutely cannot wait for all of you to hear the music that goes along with the album,” wrote Game in the IG caption.

I took the liberty in attaching the [tracklisting] as I know you guys have been wondering who’s on it… 24 tracks because @kobebryant is my [all-time] favorite player & has been a friend & inspiration to my career, so I saw it just to pay homage to the .”

(AllHipHop News) Lakeith Stanfield and Charlamagne Tha God are officially in a rap beef. The Atlanta actor dropped a diss track directed at the Power 105.1 radio show host.

Stanfield fired the first shot when he posted on Instagram that The Breakfast Club and several other media outlets were “anti-black.” Charlamagne responded by blasting Lakeith during his “Donkey of the Day” segment.

“Lakeith Stanfield, don’t you ever fix your raggedy-ass mouth to call the author of Black Privilege – because I truly believe it is a privilege to be Black – anti-Black,” stated the South Carolina native on November 14.

Two days later, Stanfield released a tune titled “Automatic” which calls out Charlamagne. The song’s cover art depicts CTG as a “Black S####” character à la “Mantan” in Spike Lee’s 2000 satirical film Bamboozled.

The Notorious B.I.G. protégé reflected on her career while appearing on Talib Kweli’s People’s Party show. The two Brooklynites discussed the Queen Bee infiltrating the “boys club” and becoming a feminist icon in the eyes of some.

“It’s always been a grey area for me, because my thing is I definitely, in some way, am a feminist because I support my women,” said Lil Kim. “That’s the one thing that was always my main focus is that my girls had somebody to speak for them all the time.”

(AllHipHop News) Cardi B had been lying low on social media for the last several days. However, the Bronx native showed back up online Monday night to offer her followers some new rhymes.

A video of Cardi rapping a “freestyle” in a kitchen went viral. The clip picked up more than 1 million views on Twitter and 7 million views on Instagram in under 8 hours.

Kanye West Buys Another $14 Million Mansion In Wyoming

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West has been spending his $850 million fortune lavishly as of late, and his spending spree continues.

According to reports, Ye just plunked down another $14 million to buy a second ranch in his new hometown of Wyoming.

TMZ reports that Kanye is the new owner of a huge property called Bighorn Mountain Ranch.

The rap star’s new piece of real estate sits on 6,713-acres is comparable to Monster Lake Ranch, the 9,000-acre property Kanye bought for $14 million in September.

Bighorn Mountain Ranch comes complete with lodges, cabins, two heated helicopter pads and sweeping views of the surrounding mountains.

Earlier this week, Kanye revealed he is building a 70,684-square-foot amphitheater called the “West Meditation Space Large Impact Structure” which will be an open-air facility.

(AllHipHop News) Rap star Kodak Black needs help kicking a drug habit while he is locked up.

Kodak Black, real name Bill K. Kapri, is asking a judge to allow him to serve part of his four-year prison sentence in a facility that provides treatment for drug addicts.

AllHipHop.com confirmed Kodak Black is attempting to serve a portion of his sentence in a facility that offers The Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) for inmates.

If Kodak is granted entry into the RDAP, he would be housed in a unit specifically for inmates undergoing treatment for their addictions.

The rap star would be in the program for nine months and he would have to complete a 500-hour course.

Upon successful completion of the RDAP, Kodak would be eligible to have some extra privileges during his incarceration, as well as the possibility to have one year shaved off of his prison sentence.

Last month, Kodak Black was accused of attacking a guard in the Federal Detention Center in Miami as he was awaiting sentencing for lying on a federal application to buy three guns.

On October 29th, the “Codeine Dreaming” rapper was engaged in a fight with another inmate, when he injured a guard trying to break up the confrontation.

The FBI accused Kodak of clutching the guard’s testicles and squeezing them so hard that the man was hospitalized with a breached abdomen and intestinal wall.

Although a pending charge for that assault could ruin Kodak Black’s shot at rehab, the rap star may have a chance at getting the treatment he needs.

During his sentencing last week, Assistant United States Attorney Bruce Brown advised that the rapper would benefit from the “RDAP” program.

Now it’s up to a judge to sign off on the request to see if Kodak Black can get the help he needs.

The pair offered no information on the follow-up to the rapper’s faith-based album, which topped the Christian Albums and Top Gospel Albums charts.

The album also made Kanye West the first artist to take over the entire Top 10 on both Hot Christian Songs and Hot Gospel Songs, which launched in 2003 and 2005.

Jesus Is King also took to the top slot on Billboard’s Top 200, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums charts.

Kanye West Declares Himself “The Greatest Artist God Ever Created”

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West has vowed to use his “arrogance” as the “greatest artist God ever created” to help spread the teachings of Christianity to a wider audience.

The “Stronger” rapper was a special guest speaker at U.S. televangelist Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas on Sunday morning.

He shared all about how he rediscovered his Christian roots and decided to dedicate himself to God.

During the live chat, Kanye explained his beliefs began to shift following his hospitalization in Los Angeles in late 2016, in the middle of his Saint Pablo Tour, when he began to experience “visions” from a higher power.

“I know that God’s been calling me for a long time and the devil’s been distracting me for a long time,” Kanye West revealed.

“When I was in my lowest points, God was there with me and sending me visions and inspiring me, and I remember sitting in the hospital at UCLA after having a mental breakdown and there’s documentation of me drawing a church and (wanting to) start a church in the middle of Calabasas.”

The incident inspired Kanye to adopt more of a gospel sound for his music, and eventually led to his first Christian rap album, his recently-released Jesus Is King, through which he wants to spread the word of God in his typically outspoken manner.

“All of that arrogance, and confidence and cockiness that y’all seen me use before, God is now using for Him,” Kanye declared. “Because every time I stand up, I feel that I’m standing up and drawing a line in the sand and saying, ‘I’m here in service to God and no weapons armed against me shall prosper.'”

Kanye continued, “Jesus has won the victory… Now the greatest artist that God has ever created is now working for Him.”

The interview took place ahead of a planned performance by Kanye and members of his Sunday Service choir, who will return for Lakewood’s Sunday night service.

Kanye was cheered on during the discussion by his wife Kim Kardashian and their daughter North, who were seated in the front row.

Qantas Airways Threatens Rapper will.I.am As War Over “Racist” Flight Attendant Explodes

(AllHipHop News) will.i.am took to Twitter to accuse a Qantas flight attendant of racism while onboard an internal flight from Brisbane to Sydney in Australia on Saturday (November 16th).

The Black Eyed Peas star, real name William Adams, whose group is part of the RNB Fridays Live festival tour, hit out at the service he and his entourage received at the hands of the “aggressive” staff member.

“I’m sorry to say me and my group have experienced the worst service due to an overly aggressive flight attendant,” the Where Is the Love? star penned. “I don’t want to believe she racist. But she has clearly aimed all her frustrations only at the people of color.”

The musician went on to complain about having police greet him at the terminal despite being “polite” and respectful to crew members during his ordeal, and shared a shaky photo of a federal police officer, who greeted the group on disembarking the plane.

“This is how you’re greeted when you land from Brisbane to Sydney flying @qantas with a #RacistFlightattendant,” he added. “She sent the police after me because I couldn’t hear the P.A while making beats on the plane wearing noise-canceling headphones.”

While the star was confronted by angry fans on the social networking site over his decision to name the flight attendant in his tweet, he defended the decision, insisting, “This type of disrespect and name-calling is uncalled for… I think I was targeted.”

However, a representative from Qantas rejected the singer’s claims, replying in a statement: “There was a misunderstanding on board, which seems to have been exacerbated by will.i.am wearing noise-canceling headphones and not being able to hear instructions from the crew.

In another statement, the company said they were siding with the flight attendant.

They also said will.I.am better issue a retraction or they are going to sue the rap star.

“Absent a retraction, and if the crew member wanted to take the matter further, we’d certainly be willing to provide legal support for them to do this,” a spokesperson for Qantas told CNN.

The “Sicko Mode” star took to Instagram on Sunday to share a series of pictures of Stormi showing off her new ‘do, writing: “Daddy’s hair.”

In the images, Stormi, Travis’ daughter with reality star ex Kylie Jenner, could be seen wandering around the house displaying her makeover, which saw her black hair parted into sections and braided, with clear beads adorning the end of each plait.

Travis and Kylie have been doing their best to co-parent following their split in October, after which the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star stated that Stormi is their “main priority”.

Roc Nation: Jay-Z Hasn’t Commented On Colin Kaepernick!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Over the weekend, Colin Kaepernick and the NFL had an old fashioned Mexican Stand-Off – with two entities! You know what that is, right?

Basically, nobody is giving an inch. Kap didn’t give them what they demanded and he forced his demands to be met. At the end of the day, about six teams came to see the former football player practice. 

But there was a side conversation…reports immediately came out to say that Jay-Z was “disappointed,” “mad” or “p#####” at the man he once supported. But, was Jay-Z really upset? It does seem logical if the early rumors were right: that Jay-Z helped Kap get a tryout from the NFL. However, Roc Nation has shot down the reports that suggest Jay has say anything.

Just five days ago, the Chicago rapper was involved in a shooting that left him in critical condition.

The incident took place in the Chicago suburb between Pulaski Road and 167th Street.

When police arrived on the scene, Lil Reese, real name Tavares Taylor, was already taken to the hospital.

They found the rapper’s bullet-ridden SUV, along with blood on the ground and near the driver’s seat of the car Reese was shot in.

Witnesses told authorities the gunman was chasing Reese and shot at him 12 times before a gunman got out of his car and shot the rapper with a small rifle.

From there, police found Reese in the emergency room of South Suburban Hospital before he was transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center.

On Friday, November 15th, Reese was released from the hospital after five days of recovering.

Now, the “Traffic” rapper updates his fans via Twitter, joking about how he wants $1 million for an interview.

He also shared a selfie of his stitched-up neck to his 1.4 million followers on Instagram with the caption: “Made 4 it Lifes a gamble I got hella luck .”

Some people have questioned the validity of the video, staying it was staged to promote Da Baby. I will say it sure looks like they are acting, or that this would be unlikely to happen in real life. I think the dude would be angrier. Thoughts??
