Doja Cat Drops ‘Hot Pink’ Album Featuring Gucci Mane, Tyga & Smino

(AllHipHop News) Last year, Doja Cat went viral as a result of the meme-able music video for “Mooo!” off the Amala album. The 24-year-old RCA recording artist has now let loose her latest body of work.

Hot Pink arrives today (November 7) with contributions from Atlanta’s Gucci Mane, Los Angeles’ Tyga, and St. Louis’ Smino. “Juicy” featuring Tyga became Doja Cat’s first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in August.

Over the last month, Doja released visuals for “Bottom B*tch” and “Rules.” The videos collected 6 million and 8.9 million views on YouTube, respectively. An MV for “Cyber Sex” hit the platform yesterday.

“I’m not perfect, but I always land on my feet. The music speaks to that. It’s so many different things. It’s clunky. It’s poppy. It’s bubbly. It’s cutesy. It’s dark. It’s surprising. It’s trappy-go-lucky with a touch of punk. It’s exactly who I am,” explained Doja Cat about her sound.

8 Takeaways From Red Bull Music Festival Atlanta’s Trap Roundtable Discussion

(AllHipHop Features) Walking into the Red Bull Music Festival Atlanta’s venue in the NorthWest section of the city, the first thing attendees see is a giant photograph of Jordan “Playboi Carti” Carter. The 23-year-old “baby voice” presenter, in a lot of ways, is an appropriate example of the evolution of what has grown to be known as Trap.

A word that simply began as southerners’ way to describe their town’s drug trafficking district eventually became the name of a subgenre of Hip Hop that even encompasses vibe-focused, lyrically-sparse artists such as Playboi Carti. Trap music has transformed into a cultural landmark, and its still-active pioneers can now reflect on the metamorphosis of the gifted, influential, and profitable monster they created.

That’s exactly what happened on Tuesday night. The Red Bull Music Festival Atlanta assembled four of the most accomplished production minds for a panel discussion. Xavier “Zaytoven” Dotson, Demetrius “Shawty Redd” Stewart, Aldrin “DJ Toomp” Davis, and Michael “Mike Will Made-It” Williams II joined moderator Travis “Yoh” Phillips for the Trap Roundtable conversation. Check out some of the big takeaways from the evening below.

Shawty Redd Wasn’t Allowed To Produce On T.I.’s ‘I’m Serious’ Album

On Tip “T.I.” Harris’ 2018 album Dime Trap, Shawty Redd is credited as the producer for the track titled “Big Ol’ Drip” featuring Watch the Duck. Sixteen years before that, Redd was actually denied the opportunity to work on Tip’s debut LP I’m Serious.

I actually got called in to work on T.I.’s first album, and they said they didn’t like my sound. So when I heard “Dope Boyz,” I was like, “Hold on, what you mean? I’m supposed to be over there.” They were like, “Nah, he do the soldier music.” They actually turned me down.

DJ Toomp Wasn’t Allowed To Produce On OutKast’s ‘Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik’ Album

While Shawty Redd was purposely left off I’m Serious, the album contained several beats by DJ Toomp. However, the Atlanta-bred deejay did experience being omitted from another A-town classic. Even after running with local ATL legend Raheem the Dream and the groundbreaking Miami group 2 Live Crew, Toomp’s talents were bypassed when it came to OutKast’s first body of work.

I was trying to get on OutKast’s album, and they weren’t really accepting my sound. The Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik album. But the stuff I was playing just didn’t fit with what they were doing because it was based around live music.

Zaytoven Doubted Himself Before Embracing His “Unpolished’ Sound

Looking at Zaytoven’s career accomplishments, it seems kind of silly to even suggest that he could have been a failure at this music thing. Believe it or not, the self-taught piano player did question his own abilities before becoming a certified super-producer with placements on projects by acts like Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, and Migos.

I was doing music for myself and for the people around me. I didn’t even think my music was good enough. If you listen to my music now, it’s junkie, it’s unpolished, it’s all over the place. That’s the reason I have a sound because that’s what it is. Think about the artists I came in the game with. Gucci Mane’s the same thing. It’s unpolished, it’s off-beat. That’s not the industry standard.

DJ Toomp Had To Recreate Kanye West’s “Big Brother” Beat Because Of Prince

Kanye West and Jay-Z are currently in some sort of frenemy relationship. Before the two superstars parted ways professionally, Ye paid homage to Hov with the DJ Toomp-produced song “Big Brother” from the Graduation album. Apparently, Toomp had to go through an ordeal with a closefisted musical genius to complete that record.

I replayed every instrument on Prince’s “It’s Gonna Be Lonely.” At first, Prince was like, “I want 50% of the publishing.” Right when we were about to finish mixing that song, he called Kanye back and was like, “Better yet, we want 100%.” Ye was smiling. I said, “Nah, you’re an artist. This is how I eat.” The computer that I did that on, I left back at the crib. So Def Jam flew me back home, and I went up there and came up with a whole other melody.

Zaytoven Was Still Cutting Hair After Producing Usher’s Top 40 Hit “Papers”

Usher won the Best Contemporary R&B Album Grammy for his 2010 set Raymond v. Raymond. One of the singles from that effort was a song called “Papers” which was produced by Zaytoven. Thanks to street bangers like Gucci Mane’s “Icy,” Zay was making a name for himself on the underground scene, but the Bay Area native was still on his day job when crafting Usher’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart-topper. It wasn’t until Migos’ “Versace” took over the nation that Zaytoven finally stepped away from the clippers as a source of income.

I was still at the barbershop. I had the No. 1 song and I was still cutting hair in the barbershop. I’m going to be honest. The whole time I was in the music [industry] I was scared of not lasting that long. After I did “So Icy,” I was like, “I got a song that’s cool. That was luck. That ain’t gonna happen again.” Then I had [OJ da Juiceman’s] “Make Tha Trap Say Aye.” It was like, “Oh snap, I got another song.” After I did “Papers,” I felt like, “Okay, this is it. This is gonna be my last big song and that’s gonna be it.” So I said, “Let me stay cutting hair at the barbershop just in case money starts getting funny.”

A 27-Year-Old Shawty Redd Was Able To “Retire” Off “Sensual Seduction”

Drama’s “Left, Right, Left” was the real “mama, I made it” moment for Shawty Redd. According to the Georgian, it was Snoop Dogg’s “Sensual Seduction” in 2007 that loaded Redd’s bank account to the point where he was able to walk away from the business before hitting 30.

The thing people don’t understand is I wrote [“Sensual Seduction”] and produced it. I gave it to Snoop for free. I’ve been a Hip Hop producer. I’ve been a Crunk producer. They keep renaming sh*t. I’ve been doing this. I’m a producer, so when I hit people with the “Sensual Seduction” they were like, “Shawty Redd did that? And he wrote it?” I’m not just a Trap producer. I’m a producer, I do music. I can do whatever. When people don’t know, they just put you in a box. I’m tired of being in a box. When I did that Snoop record, I was like, “Oh sh*t, let’s go!” I retired after that. That’s why you ain’t heard from me. I was chilling.

Mike Will Made-It’s Student Loans Inspired Him To Leave College And Make Music Full Time

The “Eardrummers” tag has helped turn up college campus functions across the country and around the globe for years. Prior to Mike Will Made-It becoming the architect of EarDrummers, the Marietta-born label head was building tunes while studying business at Atlanta’s Georgia State University. School expenses eventually pushed him to leave the classroom behind.

When student loans started going too high, I was like, “Man, I ain’t getting paid for beats and my student loans went up.” I told my dad around 2010, “Pops, I gotta stop this school sh*t. I gotta start focusing on the music.” He was like, “You might as well graduate and get your degree because music ain’t going nowhere.” I said, “You’re right, but school ain’t either, so I might as well take my shot because there’s this dude named Future and there’s this dude named 2 Chainz that I believe in. I think Gucci’s gonna come home this year. I feel like if I go hard, we’re gonna go crazy.” The next thing you know Rick Ross and them called. [Meek Mill’s] “Tupac Back” dropped, [Future’s] Dirty Sprite dropped, and “Lala” dropped with 2 Chainz. Stuff started bubbling in the streets.

Mike Will Made-It Views Music, The Music Business & The Music Industry As Separate Entities

One of the topics that all four participants in the Red Bull Music Festival Atlanta Trap Roundtable kept addressing is the importance of understanding the rules of the music game. Producers, songwriters, and artists are often thrown into a brand new world without the necessary knowledge on how to move in a room full of vultures. Mike Will offered a brief curriculum for interested pupils in the audience.

I want everybody here to know and hear this first. It’s three different things. You can have a love and passion for music, but it’s three different things. It’s music, the music business, and the music industry. They’re not all the same. The love for music and creativity is the music. The music business is the numbers and how you split your money with whoever you’re gonna split your money with and whatever your deals are. How you get paid for your sh*t getting played, that’s the music business. The music industry is everybody mixed up – the producers, the songwriters, the artists. It’s like high school. Relationships go longer than money.

Kanye West’s Adidas Yeezy Brand Sees Sales Slowdown

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West was seemingly able to right the ship when it comes to the commercial success of his music. After 2018’s Ye album experienced a significant chart drop, 2019’s Jesus Is King is expected to remain in the Top 3 in its second week of release.

While West is still garnering attention from his Gospel-inspired tunes, it appears another area of his empire is in a slightly weaker state. According to Reuters, sales of the Adidas Yeezy are down from last year.

The German corporation’s third-quarter earnings report showed footwear sales increased by only 1% as a result of lower Yeezy sales. The downturn is being connected to the lack of a major launch from the brand.

However, the e-commerce sales for West’s signature apparel dropped from 37% to 14%. Adidas CEO Kasper Rørsted claimed the company limited supplies of Yeezy products to maintain the exclusivity of the merchandise. Last year, Rørsted stated that the Yeezy line was “not a major source of revenue for the company.”

As far as his personal finances, Kanye West appears to be doing better than ever. Forbes magazine placed the G.O.O.D. Music founder at #1 on its 2019 list of “Highest-Paid Hip Hop Acts” with a June 2018 to June 2019 haul of $150 million.

Is CupcakKe Ready To Return After Quitting The Music Industry?

(AllHipHop News) Seven weeks ago, CupcakKe got on Instagram Live to announce she was walking away from the limelight. She stated, “I decided to give up, or wouldn’t say give up, I would say let go of music because I feel as though I’m corrupting the youth.”

It appears CupcakKe is already set to make her return to the industry. On Wednesday night, the 22-year-old rapper tweeted, “Jesus fasted for 40 days & so did I…… nov 16th.”

https://twitter.com/CupcakKe_rapper/status/1192249721848393728

Previously, CupcakKe was hospitalized for suicidal thoughts and depression. She also acknowledged having a gambling addiction that caused her to lose $700,000 in a casino.

The woman born Elizabeth Eden Harris is not just known for her social media usage or personal issues. CupcakKe earned critical praise for music projects such as Ephorize and Eden. Both of those albums were released in 2018.

Iggy Azalea Takes Aim At T.I. Over His Comments About Daughter’s Hymen

(AllHipHop News) Tip “T.I.” Harris found his name as the top trending topic on Twitter yesterday. Social media users had a lot to say about his parenting revelation.

While on the Ladies Like Us podcast, T.I. revealed that he goes with his 18-year-old daughter, Deyjah Harris, to the gynecologist to “check her hymen.” The Rhythm + Flow judge admitted he questions the doctor in order to find out if Deyjah is still a virgin.

Those comments received widespread condemnation. Deyjah reportedly liked tweets that suggested her father was being possessive and controlling. Planned Parenthood even responded to the topic with a series of tweets.

Iggy Azalea was another critic to call out Tip. The onetime musical partners have been engaged in a back-and-forth over the last few weeks. Iggy used this moment to take another shot at her former mentor by shading T.I. on Twitter.

“I really wish the women who interviewed him would have said something to him,” posted Iggy. “He has serious control issues with women in all aspects of his life & needs therapy.”

Ray J Reportedly In Talks With The Trump Administration To Pardon Suge Knight

(AllHipHop News) Is Ray J following in the footsteps of his ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian West? According to reports, Ray is looking to work with the Trump Administration to help free someone from prison.

The person seeking clemency from the president is said to be Suge Knight. The former Death Row Records CEO is serving a 28-year prison sentence after pleading no contest to voluntary manslaughter for killing his friend Terry Carter in a hit-and-run case.

Kardashian has become one of the celebrity faces of criminal justice reform. She worked with Trump officials to get nonviolent inmates or people with questionable convictions released from federal prison.

“Ray J is very competitive and always has been. He saw what Kim was able to do with her work in the criminal justice system with the Trump administration and he is determined to show he can do the same,” a source told DailyMail. “He’s adamant that he can convince Trump to pardon Suge and that people will respect him for doing so.”

Ray J also reportedly stepped up to take over control of Death Row. There were rumors that Knight turned over his life rights to the Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood cast member, but Nick Cannon is supposedly the one writing a book about the West Coast legend.

Drake And Kylie Jenner Could Be The Next Celebrity Couple

(AllHipHop News) Drake has reportedly been spending time “romantically” with Kylie Jenner following her split from Travis Scott.

The 33-year-old rapper is a longtime friend of Kylie’s and her family.

A source claims that their friendship turned to romance recently – after Kylie called time on her relationship with Travis, the father of her daughter Stormi.

The swirling rumors come after Kylie was spotted at Drake’s 33rd birthday celebrations in Los Angeles last month, as well as at his Halloween party in West Hollywood on Thursday.

Following his split from Kylie, Travis took to Instagram to deny rumors he’d cheated on her with a woman named Rojean Kar.

“It’s really affecting when u see false things said about u once again these false stories about me cheating are just simply not true,” Travis wrote. “Focusing on life, music, and family at this moment is what’s real.”

Kanye West Wants All The Smoke With J. Cole And Drake!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Kanye West has been traversing the universe, talking about Jesus and Christianity. He is not a preacher, but he does have a flock. Oh, what I wouldn’t do to have this much influence! Anyway, the MAGA Man does have a bit of that Trump in him, even as he plays in churches.

On the Hip-Hop side of things, there is a side of Kanye West that exists as wekk and therein lies where we are. Kanye West is reportedly about to diss Drake and J. Cole in a song in a forthcoming album. I am all for it, but it seems to be contradictory to his current incarnation. Is it? I don’t know.

This is the latest: Kanye West wants all the smoke! Do you hear that Drake? Cole World?

Bars for J. Cole:

“Yeah, Ye’s cold, but that Trump hat forced me to feel like I like J Cole.”

Ye brought Drake’s son in the mix:

“My whole city turned they back on me, they thought I told Pusha about Drake’s son. . .G####### I don’t care about his son.”

WOW! As you know, these things don’t leak like the olden days. The labels play wack-a-mole with bootleg music. So, I am gonna look around for it, but it has been scrubbed from the internet quite a bit.

Drake & J Cole have not commented on the man yet, but I would expect that to happen around the time they drop new albums. J. Cole has one coming, but he’s such a nice dude, I can’t see him going at Kanye. Same with Drake.

Last year, Kanye actually apologized to Drake over something seemingly unrelated. The song “Lift Yourself” was supposedly for Drake (or Drake wanted it) and then Kanye used it for himself (he also produced it). I am not clear on the rest.

I am thinking some of this won’t see the light of day again because this is essentially a declaration of war! I know Pusha is ready for beef with anybody, but I hope a real situation does not break out.

R. Kelly Adds Top Plea Negotiator To His Legal Team

(AllHipHop News) R. Kelly has hired a veteran defense lawyer who specializes in plea negotiations as he faces a considerable prison term for alleged sexual offenses.

The singer, who is facing 13 counts of alleged sexual abuse with young girls in a multi-state federal case sparked by allegations in docu-series “Surviving R. Kelly,” has added Jeffrey Steinback to his team, according to the Chicago Tribune.

“I was brought in as another set of eyes,” Steinback told the publication, insisting his new client is not the “monster” he has been portrayed as in the media.

“I did not meet a monster,” Steinback says. “I met a man who is hurting… He’s done a great deal of good in his life.”

Kelly is also facing a racketeering indictment in New York

Drake Entering Legal Cannabis Business With New Company

(AllHipHop News) Drake teased his latest project by sending his team to hand out flowers across his hometown of Toronto, Canada on Tuesday.

Social media users posted pictures of the flowers mysteriously turning up across the city, while some bouquets were sent to the offices of radio and TV broadcasters.

One recipient was Dina Pugliese-Mirkovich, the co-host of Toronto based morning TV show “Breakfast Television,” who claimed the flowers are teasing a new business the “Hotline Bling” rapper will launch on Thursday.

Ok….so his team is out and about spreading all kinds of positive vibes with flowers to unsuspecting peeps today…but still. Lol! He’s launching a new business venture this Thursday!!”

Drake revealed the name of the new project on his own Instagram page.

He posted an image of a geodesic biome dome like the ones found at the Eden Project in Cornwall, England, alongside a logo for the ‘”More Life Growth Co.’

“More Life” was the name of the musician’s#### 2017 mixtape.

Rello Dreamer Trips Out With Lovely Ladies And Purple Trees

(AllHipHop Music) The multi-talented artist Rello Dreamer teams with fellow Chicagoan Supa Bwe for this stylish and trippy new video for “Cold Enough,” a blunted and catchy single off Rello’s much anticipated new project, So Far From Perfect.

The “Cold Enough” visuals were directed by Jackson W#####, who brings the track to life with heavily stylized and psychedelic edits and shots. It essentially flips what could be classified as an old school-looking rap video on its head, with a strong dose of LSD running through its system.

The wavy video is a fitting complement to the equally warped Sunny Woodz-produced song, which showcases the 27-year-old Rello’s ability to pen an earworm that’s addictive and fun for the listener. He also enlisted the help of Supa Bwe on the hook, and he delivers his own out-there approach to a sing-song chorus that you’ll be singing along with once the track’s over.

Check out the visuals and head over to your preferred digital retailer or streaming platform to support “Cold Enough” which is available now through Dreamer’s own label, CreativeMindsNGoals.

OutKast & The Neptunes Earn 2020 Songwriters Hall Of Fame Nominations

(AllHipHop News) Will a couple more Hip Hop acts enter the Songwriters Hall Of Fame next year? Atlanta rap duo OutKast and Virginia Beach production team The Neptunes are listed as nominees for the 2020 class.

OutKast is made up of André “André 3000” Benjamin and Antwan “Big Boi” Patton. The Dungeon Family members have won 6 Grammys, including Album Of The Year for the Diamond-certified Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. The group also created the No. 1 singles “Ms. Jackson,” “Hey Ya!,” and “The Way You Move.”

Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo of The Neptunes are among the board masters who helped shape the sound of modern music. Their production discography is bolstered by tunes recorded by Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Britney Spears, Usher, Busta Rhymes, Kelis, Clipse, Lil Kim, T.I., Gwen Stefani, Ludacris, TLC, and many more. They also released music as N.E.R.D. with Shay Haley.

If either OutKast or The Neptunes are voted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame, the respective artistic unit will join Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter (2017), Jermaine Dupri (2018), Missy Elliott (2019), and Dallas Austin (2019) as the only Hip Hop-associated inductees. Additionally, Pop/R&B icon Mariah Carey earned another SHOF nomination.

Gloria Estefan, David Gates, Vince Gill, The Isley Brothers, Journey, Annie Lennox & David Stewart, Mike Love, Steve Miller, R.E.M., and Patti Smith are also 2020 performing nominees. The non-performing hopefuls are Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty, Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart, L. Russell Brown & Irwin Levine, Sonny Curtis, Kye Fleming & Dennis Morgan, Jerry Fuller, Tony Macaulay, Bob McDill, Roger Nichols, Rick Nowels, and William “Mickey” Stevenson.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame’s 51st Annual Induction & Awards Gala is scheduled for June 11, 2020, in New York City. Eligible voting members have until midnight on December 16, 2019 to submit ballots.

‘Hip Hop: The Songs That Shook America’ Docuseries To Explore MC Shan’s “The Bridge”

(AllHipHop News) Before Remy Ma vs Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill vs Drake, Jay-Z vs Nas, or 2Pac vs The Notorious B.I.G., Hip Hop was consumed with the so-called Bridge Wars. The 1980s iconic inter-borough battle was over the true birthplace of the culture.

Shawn “MC Shan” Moltke’s “The Bridge” was the first shot in the lyrical rivalry between Marley Marl’s Juice Crew from Queens and KRS-One’s Boogie Down Productions from The Bronx. MC Shan’s ode to Queensbridge led to the KRS response “South Bronx.”

Juice Crew then came back with “Kill That Noise” off Shan’s Down by Law album KRS-One essentially knocked out Marley Marl and MC Shan with “The Bridge Is Over” in 1987.

AMC’s Hip Hop: The Songs That Shook America will provide an in-depth analysis of “The Bridge” on the fifth episode of the docuseries. Marley Marl, MC Shan, Red Alert, Funkmaster Flex, L.L. Cool J, Pharrell, Roxanne Shante, and more insiders will provide commentary.

Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter, and Alex Gibney serve as the executive producers for Songs That Shook America. Previous installments covered Kanye West’s “Jesus Walks,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright,” Run-DMC’s “Rock Box,” and OutKast’s “Elevators (Me & You).”

“The Bridge: 1986” premieres Sunday, November 10 at 12 am ET/CT. That episode of Hip Hop: The Songs That Shook America will begin streaming November 11 on the AMC website. It is already available for AMC Premiere subscribers.

Forest Whitaker Talks Hearing Migos’ “Forest Whitaker” Song For The First Time

(AllHipHop News) Back in 2015, Migos released the Back To The Bando mixtape which included a track titled “Forest Whitaker.” The song’s namesake had never publicly responded to the rap group’s record, until now.

Forest Whitaker appeared on MSNBC’s The Beat with Ari Melber to discuss his EPIX drama series Godfather Of Harlem. Melber, a bonafide Hip Hop head, also took the opportunity to ask the Oscar-winning actor about Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset.

“I like Migos,” said Whitaker. “The first time I think I heard [‘Forest Whitaker’], my daughter called me from school and told me they’re playing this song, and I listened to it. It’s really pretty brilliant how they took all of these films I’ve done and put them together in this amazing song. That’s quite surprising actually.”

Forest Whitaker plays New York City gangster Bumpy Johnson in the Godfather of Harlem. The show’s soundtrack is filled with Hip Hop acts such as Swizz Beatz, DMX, Rick Ross, Pusha T, 21 Savage, French Montana, A$AP Ferg, Wale, Buddy, and Dave East.

Jay-Z Gifts Meek Mill & Swizz Beatz Rolex Watches As VIP Passes For His SCF Gala

(AllHipHop News) On November 15 and 16, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter will host the inaugural Shawn Carter Foundation Gala Weekend. Meek Mill will take part in the High Roller Blackjack Tournament, and Alicia Keys is performing at the benefit concert.

Jay-Z officially invited Meek with a Rolex watch. The Dream Chasers Records founder posted a picture of the timepiece on Instagram. His caption read, “Hov sent these as VIP passes smh this rich sh*t getting out of control lol. I’m not joking lol.”

In addition, Alicia Keys’ husband, Swizz Beatz, also uploaded a photo of a gift from Carter. The “On To The Next One” producer wrote, “Levels Hov ‍♂️ ‍♂️ ‍♂️ ‍♂️ is on another level with the invite game ‍♂️ it came with Daytona Rolex and a bottle of Ace.”

Besides Meek Mill, Swizz Beatz, and Alicia Keys, other celebrities such as Beyoncé and Rihanna are expected to attend the Shawn Carter Foundation Gala Weekend. All proceeds from the SCFG will benefit the nonprofit organization’s scholarship fund, college prep workshops and bus tours, study abroad opportunities, and community goodwill programs for youth and families in need.

“Equipping our youth with the tools to succeed will always be a priority for me and my family. I’m looking forward to continuing that mission at this year’s Shawn Carter Foundation Gala Weekend, where we’ll celebrate our scholars and continue to support young people in a meaningful way,” stated Jay-Z.

The AJC reports that McCall was broadcasting on Instagram Live while trying to enter Atlanta’s Justice Center Tower. After being told he was not allowed to record, the 34-year-old entertainer allegedly swatted away a sergeant’s hands. McCall and the sergeant apparently fell down an escalator as he was trying to escape being detained.

The “Deuces” singer is facing charges of second-degree criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, simple assault, and misdemeanor terroristic threats. Earlier this year, he was detained in Los Angeles County for domestic violence against another woman.

YK Osiris Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting His Girlfriend

(AllHipHop News) Less than a month after releasing his debut studio album, YK Osiris is in the headlines for another reason. The Golden Child creator was taken into custody on Monday.

YK (born Osiris Williams) was arrested for aggravated assault by strangulation in Georgia. The 21-year-old is accused of choking and biting his girlfriend’s face at his birthday party on September 7.

TMZ reports:

The woman says she confronted Osiris after seeing an image on his phone of another woman wearing nothing but a towel. The girlfriend claims they started yelling and Osiris said, “I am going to slap the sh*t out of you.” Osiris’ GF told cops he chased her up a set of stairs into a bathroom and that’s when he choked her and bit her face. The woman claims she bit his lip to get him off her, and the fight was eventually broken up.

Williams is currently being held in the Fulton County Jail without bond. He was scheduled to perform in Augusta, Georgia today (November 6).
