Footage Of Kanye West’s 2016 Breakdown May Leak

(AllHipHop Rumors) Apparently Kanye West’s nasty legal battle with his insurance company is going to cause a bit of details to leak out publicly.

According to In Touch, Kim Kardashian has also secretly testified under oath on behalf of her husband’s November 2016 breakdown and hospitalization.

The insurance company is refusing to pay up because they believe his breakdown was brought on by drugs!

Ye filed a lawsuit against insurer Lloyd’s of London on Aug. 1, claiming breach of contract and asking for a jury trial.

According to an inside source,

“Kanye wanted the insurance to pay $10,812,997.09 plus fees for the cancellations.”

The insurance company is denying the payout, and Kanye is prepared to fight.

That’s not all though!

Apparently the battle with the insurance company also involves some video footage that Ye’s team is afraid could ruin Ye’s marriage to Kim.

“More than 20 hours of video was taken of Kanye during the four days leading up to his hospitalization, and you see the deterioration of his condition and his mental breakdown,” said the source.

When Kim testified under oath, she was allegedly questioned about Kanye taking percocet with a valid prescription.

Yeezy’s lawyers are arguing that he should get the payout because his doctors determined that he was unable to perform. Well, it sounds like this insurance company is doing what insurance companies do best, trying not to pay people.

But with an insurance claim that big, I mean you would have to expect there to be some due diligence and opposition.

I’m nervous to see this alleged footage that may leak. Wishing you well Kanye!

LL Cool J Responds To Being First Rap Artist Named As A Kennedy Center Honors Recipient

(AllHipHop News) Did you ever think that Hip Hop would take it this far?

That Biggie-inspired question relates to news that LL Cool J will be the first rap artist to be a recipient of The Kennedy Center Honors.

The iconic musician/actor will be joined in the 2017 class by dancer Carmen de Lavallade, singer-songwriter Gloria Estefan, television writer/producer Norman Lear, and singer-songwriter Lionel Richie.

“Each of this year’s Honorees became known to and loved by the world because of their complete originality and bold genius,” said Kennedy Center President Deborah F. Rutter. “They are creators of the highest order, and as President Kennedy’s living memorial, the Kennedy Center is proud to shine a light on their boundless ‘contributions to the human spirit.'”

LL wrote about receiving the prestigious recognition on Instagram:

My late grandmother passed some wise advice to me: ‘If a task is once begun, never leave it ‘til it’s done. Be thy labor great or small, do it well or not at all.’ That adage has guided everything I have ever done in my life and I couldn’t be more grateful because it has led me here. To be the first rap artist honored by the [Kennedy Center] is beyond anything I could have imagined. I dedicate this honor to the hiphop artists who came before me and those who came after me. This simply proves that dreams don’t have deadlines. God is great.

The 2017 Kennedy Center Honors celebration is scheduled for December 3 and will air December 26 on CBS.

Usher’s Wife Reportedly Standing By The Singer During $20 Million STD Lawsuit

(AllHipHop News) It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Usher Raymond.

An unnamed woman filed a reported $20 million lawsuit claiming the “U Got It Bad” singer gave her herpes after having sex with him at least twice this year.

Usher has been married to Grace Miguel since September 2015.

According to TMZ, Miguel is not concerned about these STD allegations.

The website’s sources suggested “Jane Doe” was a friend of Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Harris and he believes the suit is just part of a long-standing grudge.

That alleged bad blood playing a part in the situation is supposedly the reason Grace is standing by her husband.

Meanwhile, Usher was added to the August 3 date for Dave Chappelle’s stand-up comedy residency at Radio City Music Hall.

Suge Knight Pleads Not Guilty To Threatening ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Director F. Gary Gray

(AllHipHop News) Marion “Suge” Knight was accused of making a criminal threat via text message to Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray.

According to multiple reports, the co-founder of Death Row Records pleaded not guilty to the charges on Thursday.

In the indictment, Gray claimed he “was reasonably in sustained fear for his safety and the safety of his immediate family.”

Knight, who was depicted in Compton, is scheduled to return to court on August 10.

He is also currently incarcerated for a 2015 murder charge connected to the hit-and-run death of Terry Carter.

That case is expected to begin in January 2018.

Can Hip-Hop Win If The Family Continues To Feud?

Since the beginning of Hip-Hop, competition has always been a part of the culture. From Kool Moe Dee and Busy Bee Starski to Nas and Jay-Z, Hip-Hop clashes have always inspired great music. Even after losing some of the greatest rappers to ever bless the mic, fans still crave fierce competition in Hip-Hop.

With much of mainstream rap switching its focus from lyrics to music, the potential for great rap feuds is all but gone. And the world is different than it was when Hip-Hop began; today’s world is built on progress, change and acceptance. Yet Hip-Hop is still the only genre with competition ingrained so deeply in its foundation.

So the question remains: Is competition really more important than unity in Hip-Hop?

Battle rappers are known to be habitual line-steppers. Unlike records where offensive bars are often scrutinized, anything goes in battle rap. A couple weeks back, King of the Dot held MASS3, a battle rap event featuring the likes of Hollow Da Don, Mickey Factz, Dizaster, Daylyt and more. Everybody showed up, sparred, shook hands and went home. That’s how battle rap works—as much as rappers lyrically dismantle each other, there’s an understanding that it doesn’t go beyond that. It’s entertainment. Why can’t rap beef follow suit?

Competition is great for Hip-Hop in terms of the music it inspires, but music is too often the smallest focus of today’s beefs. Remember The Game and Young Thug’s beef? All that gave us was a weird daughter-complimenting battle and some videos of the two rappers posturing and making death threats. Thankfully nothing happened, but this is a prime example of how quickly a conflict between grown men can escalate, especially with the influence of the machismo attitude perpetuated in Hip-Hop culture.

In a world where Nas’s “One on One” was a reality, disunity in Hip-Hop would be fine. The reality is that gun violence is a very serious issue in America.

That’s not the only problem with disunity in Hip-Hop. Have you ever heard a rapper say “I don’t listen to rap.”? The thinking behind this is that if you don’t listen to rap, you can’t bite anyone’s style. It actually makes rappers unsupportive and ignorant of the culture they strive to preserve and further. One rapper’s success doesn’t close any doors—there is room for everyone to coexist.

Us fans are partially responsible, too. We condone the behavior that brings us the music we condemn. When the internet gave us a look into the lives of rappers we could previously only read about in magazines, it changed the way we consumed music. Hip-Hop has become a social media-driven high school because fans support drama over quality music.

So what can we do to unify Hip-Hop? Fans can support good music instead of the latest viral moment. Writers can be more creative in finding stories to write that aren’t gossip. But rappers have the biggest job—they need to put aside their egos and differences and find a way to push Hip-Hop as a whole, no matter who they have to support. Even if it means OGs giving the likes of Young Thug and XXXTentacion a shot.

Understand that rap is a form of entertainment. A sport. A career. Disunity on wax should not spill out into the streets. The Warriors and Cavs may have split the previous two NBA Finals, but Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving looked like old friends at Harrison Barnes’ wedding.

As Jay-Z said, “Nobody wins when the family feuds.”

Pakman Jitt and DJ Holiday Drop “Freebandz”

Growing up in Central Florida, Pakman Jitt was inspired by the sounds of Plies, Lil Boosie, and Young Jeezy. Dodging the street life became a load and ultimately Pak decided to take his career to the next level. He debuted his first official mixtape in 2012, Brick Boyz Vol. 1, hosted by DJ Rell. DJ Holiday assisted Pakman Jitt on this single “Freebandz.” The track was produced by MB13. The video has now been released and is circulating the web. Well on its way with 70,000 views and counting, Pakman is just getting started. His first single, “All My Life” had over 300K plays on Spotify. Make sure to get familiar.

Myke Bogan – Gravy ft. Michael Christmas

Portland, OR seems to be more known for gentrification than Hip Hop but the Eyrst label is here to change that! The label’s next release is LA-by-way-of-Portland MC, Myke Bogan, who just teamed up with Michael Christmas for a new track. “Gravy” is one of the more menacing tracks on Bogan’s upcoming “Pool Party” LP that is coming out on August 18th.

“Pool Party is what I want people to be able to smoke, party, BBQ, or even just be hanging out to all summer” says Bogan. With breezy production from Tim Fontane, “Gravy” demonstrates these summer vibes with confidence. In addition to Michael Christmas, “Pool Party” also features contributions from the likes of Blossom, Neill Von Tally, and The Last Artful, Dodgr. Bogan has been hitting the festival circuit hard in the last year and he’ll be hitting the road in support of “Pool Party” in the fall, so be on the lookout for him rolling through town!

Flawless Real Talk Releases Visual For His Hot Record “Let Your Hair Down”

The Rapper From Rhode Island Continues to Release Visuals off Debut Album “It’s Different”

Track after track. Hit after hit, Flawless Real Talk isn’t taking it easy on us as he consistently releases fire content. Just a few weeks ago we received an amazing video for “Won’t Back Out”; which highlights flashbacks from Flawless’ past performances and tour life. “Let Your Hair Down” shows Flawless in a completely different light. It’s interesting to see a rapper have fun and let his guard down.

Andre 3000 Hopes To God He Won’t Be Rapping In 10 Years

(AllHipHop News) Andre 3000 has hinted he may disappear from the music business as he no longer enjoys making rap music anymore.

The hip-hop star was one half of duo Outkast alongside Big Boi from 1991 to 2006, when the pair went their separate ways, though they have reunited for several shows since then.

Both men also launched successful solo careers, with Andre releasing hits including “Hey Ya!” and “Roses,” but in a new interview the 42-year-old appeared to suggest he’s ready to leave his music career behind.

“There’s always a new wave of artists, and sometimes I’m just like, ‘I’m good. I’ll let the young guys do it.’ And whenever they reach out and say, ‘Hey, let’s try something,’ I’m with helping them,” he told Complex. “I’m doing it more for them than for my own self. I don’t get much happiness from doing music like that – I get happiness from pleasing who I’m working with, and helping them, and seeing them be excited.”

He even suggested Outkast’s 2006 record “Idlewild” is their last, insisting he’d be “totally fine” if the pair didn’t release another album.

Explaining he enjoys no longer being a part of the rap scene after living in it for so long, Andre – whose full name is Andre Lauren Benjamin – would rather make music as a hobby from now on rather than feeling pressure to deliver new material.

“When I was 25, I said I don’t want to be a 30-year-old rapper. I’m 42 now, and I feel more and more that way. Do I really want to be 50 years old up there doing that?” he mused. “When I watch other rappers that are my age I commend them, but I just wonder where the inspiration is coming from. At this stage I’m really more focused on what I am going to be doing 10 years from now. And I hope to God it won’t be rapping.”

Luckily Andre has other ventures to keep him busy, including being the creative director of Swedish brand Tretorn.

The Game Looks To Fans To Find His New Assistant

(AllHipHop News) Rapper The Game is using his Instagram account to hunt for a new assistant among his fans.

The 37-year-old musician posted the unusual job advert on social media on Wednesday, in which he asked his followers to message him if they were interested in an unpaid internship with him.

“Good morning young world…,” the advert reads. “I am looking for a new assistant….. (male or female) someone who wants to intern for a few months with the possibility of working your way into a paid position pending you can get the job done, learn the ins & outs of the industry & help me with my day to day…”

The hip-hop star, real name Jayceon Terrell Taylor, specified that applicants must live in the Los Angeles area and have a car and added, “I would also prefer college graduates but I am willing to take a chance on someone who doesn’t have a degree & is strong minded, focused, determined & ready to assist immediately….”

He has asked fans interested in becoming his assistant to privately message him on social media.

His job search comes months after The Game lost a $7.1 million sexual assault lawsuit brought by Priscilla Rainey, a contestant who competed for his affections in the reality show “She’s Got Game.”

Jayceon denies the accusations and is seeking to overturn the default judgment entered when he failed to appear in court last November.

In May the rapper launched a suit against bosses at Viacom, the media company behind the TV show, demanding they settle the $7.1 million lawsuit and pay him $13 million in damages.

He claims the show’s producers should not have allowed Rainey to appear on the show due to her alleged criminal past.
