(AllHipHop News) Rap mogul Suge Knight made an appearance in court today, where he attempted to plead his case to a judge.
Suge has been locked up since January of 2015, after being accused of murder and assault.
The former head of legendary hip-hop label Death Row Records is accused of running down associates of Dr. Dre.
Cle “Bone” Sloan escaped with serious injuries, while another man named Terry Carter was killed during the altercation at a fast food restaurant in Compton.
The incident occurred during a taping of for a promotional video for the movie “Straight Outta Compton.”
Over the past year, Suge has repeatedly claimed that the restrictions are severely hampering his defense, since he’s not even allowed to see his own lawyer.
Today (July 6), was no different, when Suge Knight appeared in court sporting an orange prison jumpsuit, where he begged a judge to let him see his lawyers.
“The only person I’m allowed to call is him [his counsel], and sometimes his office doesn’t even take my call,” Suge complained about his counsel.
Suge said he wanted to be able to contact several lawyers and nodded to longtime associate and former Death Row lawyer, David Kenner, who was in the court, but not allowed to speak on Suge’s behalf.
“I don’t want to miss my trial date, I don’t want to slow my trial date down, I just want to be able to talk to counsel so I can be prepared,” Suge pleaded with an unsympathetic judge.
Suge seemed extremely frustrated in court today, claiming the superseding judge for the trial has continuously blocked his lawyer’s attempts to see him.
In addition to the restrictions, Suge has also suffered from health setbacks since he’s been locked down.
The mogul claims he’s legally blind in one eye, and he has been hospitalized several times due to complications from diabetes.

(AllHipHop News) Atlanta rapper Rick Ross is facing a lawsuit, for allegedly backing out of a concert and refusing to return the money he was advanced.
According to a lawsuit filed by Washington County Family Entertainment, Rick Ross was hired for a concert at the Wild Things Park in Washington, Pennsylvania earlier this year.
The rapper, who was paid $150,000 upfront, had to back out of the concert over family and health issues.
(AllHipHop News) Atlanta rappers like 2 Chainz, Migos, and Young Jeezy may dominate the charts, but that means nothing to the Atlanta Hawks, and Philips Arena, according to a new discrimination lawsuit.
According to the manager, rappers like Drake, Kanye West, 2 Chainz, Jeezy, and celebrities like Tyler Perry and Katt Williams, were all required to pass through metal detectors in order to enter the Philips Arena to perform.
However, when white artists like Adele, Ariana Grande, Bon Jovi and AC/DC made the same requests, each one of theirs was granted.
TMZ.com reports that the issue turned into a full-blown lawsuit after a black security officer told Radiohead’s crew they were required to walk through metal detectors.
The request to be checked offended the group’s crewmembers, and became disrespectful to the black security guard, by pulling down his pants.
When another white security guard intervened, he allowed the members of Radiohead’s crew to pass through security, unchecked.
According to the lawsuit, management said that “hip-hop acts draw a different crowd and the white acts bring in more money.”
So far, the Atlanta Hawks or Philips Arena have not commented on the allegations.
(AllHipHop News) Actor Omari Hardwick spent a few days in jail to prepare for the new season of his hit show “Power.”
The star’s character James ‘Ghost’ St. Patrick finds himself behind bars in the fourth season of the show and Omari decided to get a real taste for jail life by locking himself up for three days.
“I never have necessarily done the full on method thing before, but I kind of went full method this year,” he said on Live! with Kelly and Ryan. “Hung out in jail, a lot of hours.
“The network… didn’t necessarily know… I was there, like, two or three nights. I had a producer and a warden who were taking care of me, so it was all good.”
He might have had an easier time of it than some of the other ‘inmates’, but the spell behind bars really left him with a sense of what prison’s like.
“It wasn’t necessarily all good in terms of hearing the sounds,” he added. “You know, you actually have prisoners there, so it’s a little blasphemous to sort of forego your respect of what they’ve gone through that you haven’t necessarily gone through.”
Omari also explained the raw experience helped him to feel more creative
“I would hear (the prisoners) screaming at night and I was writing, I was doing an album around that time, so this season I feel I was most open as an artist that I’ve ever been in my 14 years as an actor,” he added.
What kind of times are we living in. LOL. Rob Kardashian broke the ‘net yesterday when he put his baby mama Blac Chyna on full blast!!!
Rob went in so bad that Instagram ended up shutting down his page, and he moved the party over to Twitter! Rob ended up putting naked pictures of Chyna on his page, and blasting her for allegedly sleeping with multiple men in what he says is the bed they made their daughter, Dream Kardashian in.
A number of folks including Snoop Dogg, T.I., Lil Duval, and Rico Love weighed in on the situation letting Rob know that all-in-all he is a complete sucker, and everyone but Rob could see from the jump what Chyna was up to! Rob got licked!
I mean Blac Chyna seems unbothered, but why shouldn’t she be. I mean nothing that was said is stuff we didn’t know or expect.
The plot twist is that one of Blac Chyna’s alleged sidepieces may be bisexual. I don’t know what Blac Chyna’s type is exactly [other than rappers] but, the guy that Rob posted a photo of didn’t look like her type. In fact he didn’t even look like he would like girls, but that’s none of my business.
The photo of the guy in Rob’s alleged robe looked so suspect, that I really started to believe that this may be a publicity stunt!
Anyway folks are now going in on the guy and saying that he plays on both teams. You be the judge. What are your thoughts?
(AllHipHop Rumors) Let us pray that Jada gets it right and does Pac justice.
Although Tupac’s biopic, ‘All Eyez On Me’ came in third at the box office during the first week of it’s release. The reviews have certainly been mixed, with there being more negative reviews than positive.
One of Pac’s close friends, actress Jada Pinkett-Smith also gave some harsh criticism of the film, as she revealed that much of the film’s depiction of her relationship with Tupac was fictional.
Now Jada has revealed that she’s been inspired to write her own version of Pac’s life as what she hints at possibly being a Tupac biography.
“There’s so much off Pac’s story that wasn’t told; there’s still so much left. It probably has encouraged me. I see how hungry people are to know about Pac, and how people will just consume anything about him. I think it might be time for me to write a book, and time for me to gather those that I know that had a very special relationship to Pac and encourage them to do the same,” said Jada.
Well for some reason, I truly believe Jada may get it right, or at least gather a solid team of individuals that can bring his true story to light, even if she partners with a co-author. I still kind of feel like we need another Pac biopic. what are your thoughts?

(AllHipHop News) Roc Nation’s Ahmad “Belly” Balshe is unapologetic about his performance at the Canada 150 festival.
The Palestine-born, Ottawa-raised recording artist was hit with some criticism for using profanity during his set.
Even the City of Toronto offered an official apology via social media.
“The #CityofTO apologizes for the inappropriate content during tonight’s closing performance at Nathan Phillips Square,” tweeted Toronto’s Special Events Twitter account on July 4.
Belly took to his own Twitter page to respond.
“That’s the beauty of living somewhere with REAL freedoms,” wrote the “Consuela” spitter. “F-ck censorship forever.”
He ended the second tweet with the middle finger emoji.
Belly also joked, “[Family Guy character] Consuela loved the show, that’s all that matters.”
“I don’t got that bad of a mouth, do I? F-ck.. Sh-t.. Ass.. B-tch.. C###.. Shooby-de-doo-wop! Skibbedy-be-bop” – Marshall Mathers,” posted Belly.
In addition, Toronto officials provided a statement that read, “As per contracts, the city expects all artists to deliver G-rated, family-friendly shows suitable for all ages.”
Belly issued a reaction to the city’s claim that he was expected not to use obscenities at the Canada Day event.
“Organizers were made aware that I would be swearing during my show before I even flew into Toronto,” said the 33-year-old songwriter in a statement.
He added, “They will never censor my art.”

(AllHipHop Rumors) Things may never go back to normal for Jay-Z and Kanye West!
While Jay and Ye have allegedly been at odds over financial reasons, sources close to the rappers maintain that their “brotherly beef” has always been more personal.
It looked like Jay & Kanye were going to make amends once Kanye was spotted pulling up to The Carter’s home for Blue Ivy’s birthday, but the lyrics on Jay-Z’s ‘4:44’ album seem to suggest otherwise.
According to Page Six, the beef stems from West forcing his wife Kim Kardashian on the Carters.
“Kanye’s rant was really about Kim and Beyoncé not being BFFs. Kanye is frustrated that his wife does not have a better relationship with Beyoncé. He wanted to put that pressure on Jay. It’s like, ‘We’re cool and we do business together, and now our wives should be friends?’” claims an insider!
The source even added,
“It’s not organic. It’s not real. Beyoncé is a Southern, God-fearing woman, despite what you may see when she’s entertaining. She may not have much in common with Kim. It’s like, Jay believed in you and now you’ve alienated him to where he’s like f - - k you.”
Another insider says,
“Their relationship is familial . . . I’d be very surprised if they didn’t work together or have some kind of relationship in the future.”
Do you think Hov and Yeezy will be able to move past this?!

(AllHipHop Rumors) It looks like 50 Cent doesn’t want to let Jay-Z be great!
As you know Jay’s ‘4:44’ album went platinum in under a week, but 50 Cent hasn’t been won over by the project. Not only did Fif post a photo letting you know where the original “money to the ear” thing came from (in a response to Jay clowning folks for holding up money to their ear), he also seemingly went in on Jay’s album in another post.
“Just so you know where the Money to the ear thing came from. The Original TMT,” said 50 Cent.
“I just got back from the gym I listened to Jay sh-t. That 4:44. I thought the sh-t was aight. I liked the sh-t. But I’ma keep it 100 the sh-t was a little too smart. I felt like I was supposed to be wearing like glasses and sh-t, and tie a f-cking sweater around my waist. It was like Ivy League sh-t…. N-ggas is high out here, so they don’t want to hear that. They just want to have a good time. F-ck that, you can’t be the best rapper at 47 cause the new n-ggas is here. They coming with new sh-t going on. That’s why I was laughing with the Joe Budden n-gga and the Migos n-ggas because they up, they up next. N-ggas coming with Future and all this other sh-t. Leave them n-ggas alone. What’s the f-ck is a matter with you B. That sh-t look like golf course music,” said 50 Cent.
There are clearly a lot of folks who liked the album, but does 50 Cent have a point? What are your thoughts on the album?
(AllHipHop News) When an artist gets name dropped by arguably the greatest musical mind that ever lived, he or she should rightly revere the moment.
That is now the case for a few Hip Hop stars because Quincy Jones listed them among the entertainers that give him hope for the future of music.
The icon was asked about the topic during a conversation with JBL’s Yuna.
“I’ll start off with Kendrick Lamar and Bruno Mars. I like Common. I like Ludacris. I like Esperanza Spalding,” said Jones. “Little Joey Alexander, he’s frightening. He’s 13 years old. He plays like Herbie Hancock. It’s beautiful to see these young ones taking music back where it belongs. They are all incredible.”
This was not the first time Kendrick Lamar and Bruno Mars were mentioned by the 79-time Grammy Award winner.
The 84-year-old producer/performer obviously still pays attention to what’s happening in modern music, but his own career is highlighted by collaborations with some of the world’s most accomplished musicians.
Quincy Jones notably helped provide the sound to Michael Jackson’s 1982 masterpiece Thriller, which is the best-selling album in history.
Coming off the release of their most successful single to date, “Jetta Whippin,” which garnered more than 100,000 plays on Spotify since it’s release, Northern Virginia hip-hop duo RoeShamBeaux returns with a new record titled “Tequila Toes.”

(AllHipHop News) Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover has another RIAA plaque to hang on his wall.
Gambino’s “Awaken, My Love!” joins 2013’s Because the Internet as the second Gold-certified album in his discography.
Because the Internet took over two years to reach that status, but “Awaken, My Love!” achieved the feat in six months.
The Atlanta native’s latest LP hosts the platinum song “Redbone” which has over 85 million plays on YouTube.
“Awaken, My Love!” could be the final Childish Gambino album.
“Being punk just always felt really good to me and we always looked at Atlanta as a punk show and I feel like the direction I would go with Childish Gambino wouldn’t be punk anymore,” he said in June. “As much as ‘Redbone’ is a punk song because it’s a gospel song that’s on the radio, I’m like there’s only so far you can go before you just are the radio.”
With his popular Swae Lee-assisted single “Unforgettable” climbing the charts and having recently performed the hit-smash on the BET Awards, FrenchMontana now plans to follow up with his whole new album entitled “Jungle Rules.”
The LP is set to arrive next week, July 14th, and yesterday the Coke Boy rapper revealed the official tracklist via Twitter. Guest features will include the late, great Chinx, Quavo, T.I., Pharrell, Young Thug and more.
