Birdman Loses Bid To Have $300,000 Unpaid Wages Lawsuit Tossed

(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop mogul Bryan “Birdman” Williams has lost his bid to have a lawsuit regarding unpaid wages thrown out of court.

Javier Nuno is suing the Cash Money Records label boss amid allegations he is owed more than $300,000 in outstanding wages, after reportedly working for Williams from September, 2012, to February, 2015.

The rapper’s attorney Alan Soven challenged the lawsuit, insisting Nuno was never on Williams’ payroll and claiming his client wasn’t properly served with legal papers.

“You can’t serve a security guard,” Alan Soven, Birdman’s attorney told The Miami Herald. “You can’t serve the maid or the gardener. You have to serve someone who lives at the house, and I can promise you the security guard doesn’t live in Bryan’s mansion.”

In paperwork filed with the court, Soven has argued Nuno was never an employee of Williams’ and was merely a hanger-on who lived on the property for years and wouldn’t leave when Williams bought the place in 2012.

He moved to have the Florida case dismissed, but Miami-Dade County Circuit Court Judge Rodney Smith has denied Williams’ motion, allowing Nuno to proceed with his efforts to fight for the money he alleges he is owed, reports The Miami Herald.

He is also seeking payment for overtime and damages.

It’s the second suit Nuno has filed against Williams.

He initially launched legal action in 2015, but voluntarily withdrew the papers in February, 2016, before lodging new documents in court last summer, in August of 2016.

(AllHipHop News) 2 Chainz is returning next week with his Pretty Girls Like Trap Music album.

According to the Atlanta rapper, he has a new track featuring Nicki Minaj that will be making some serious noise.

“I don’t talk much but my song with her is goin [sic] to be a problem,” posted 2 Chainz on Instagram.

The artist formerly known as Tity Boi and the New York rapstress have teamed together on music in the past.

Nicki’s 2012 song “Beez In The Trap” featured Chainz, and she returned the favor later that year on his “I Luv Dem Strippers.”

2 Chainz’s Pretty Girls Like Trap is scheduled for release on April 7.

Hip-Hop Label Boss Accused Of Being A Drug Kingpin Who Beat Up Rapper Charli Baltimore

(AllHipHop News) The feds in Detroit have cracked down on a hip-hop record label, which they allege is really a front for a massive heroin dealing operation.

Bryan “Peanut” Brown is the owner of BMB Records, but he is also accused of being a drug kingpin

According to a 50-page indictment that was obtained by The Detroit News, Brown has generated millions of dollars by selling his heroin and washing the proceeds through BMB, which counted artists like Ray J, Charlie Baltimore, Bre-Z and others as performers on the roster.

The DEA started investigating BMB Records in 2013, after cops seized $550,000 in cash, along with 8 kilos of heroin.

A confidential informant told the FBI that Brown was really one of the biggest heroin dealers in the Midwest.

The source claimed Brown bought his heroin from a group in California, which is connected to the Mexican cartels.

The proceeds from the sales are then allegedly funneled through BMB Records, which earned millions of dollars between 2013 and 2015.

Police conducting undercover surveillance found that Brown had a fleet of luxury cars – 20 in total – which includes a Maserati, a Porsche Panamera and two Corvettes.

The cops noted that the cars alone were valued at almost 14 times the amount Brown reported on his income taxes for 2011, which was the year before he started BMB Records.

In December 2016, the authorities closed in on Brown and raided a loft he was staying in with an unnamed girlfriend.

Police found a number of weapons and indicted Brown on gun charges. Two months later, he popped back up on police’s radar while he was on probation.

Brown was accused of beating down his other girlfriend, legendary rapper Charli Baltimore, in a violent rage.

“I was brutally beaten by Brown when I walked in on him with another woman,” Charli Baltimore wrote the court affidavit obtained by The Detroit News. “He choked me, blacked (sic) my eye, bruised my arm while I was still in a cast.”

Bryan “Peanut” Brown is still free on bond, and he is even reportedly filming a new reality series for lifetime called “Detroit Empire.”

Drake’s ‘More Life’ Predicted To Spend A Second Week At #1 On The Album Chart

(AllHipHop News) More Life, the new “playlist” from Drake, opened at #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart with 505,000 equivalent album units.

HitsDailyDouble predicts the project will spend a second week in the top spot.

Drake is expected to collect another 240,000 – 250,000 sales plus streaming units.

That range is likely enough to keep More Life in the pole position on the SPS charts.

On the traditional album sales side, Drizzy’s latest body of work is looking to sell between 45,000 – 50,000 units in week two.

The Toronto native is in a close race with Metallica, Ed Sheeran, Trey Songz, and the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack for #1 on the Top Album Sales chart.

Other Hip Hop albums looking to remain in the Top 20 on the Billboard 200 this week include Rick Ross’ Rather You Than Me (39 – 43K), Future’s FUTURE (36 – 40K), Migos’ Culture (34 – 38K), Post Malone’s Stoney (24 -27K), and Future’s HNDRXX (23 – 26K).

Fetty Wap Suspect Says He Would “Love to Take Credit” For Robbery But He Didn’t Do It

(AllHipHop News) A suspect reportedly connected to a dispute involving rapper FETTY WAP has been arrested, but he is denying involvement in the crime.

The “Trap Queen” star and several of his friends were involved in the altercation at an all-night delicatessen in his native Paterson, New Jersey early on Sunday (March 26), and sources said Fetty, real name Willie Maxwell II, had a chain and cash stolen, sparking a shootout, which left three people with non life-threatening wounds.

Fetty was not among those injured and is not considered a suspect, however he has refused to cooperate with police in regards to an investigation into the altercation, part of which was recorded on a bystander’s phone.

Raheem “Fuzz” Thomas, has been arrested in connection to the incident. He has been booked on aggravated assault and three weapons possession offenses.

Fuzz took to Instagram to deny he had anything to do with the robbery and stated that everyone in his neighborhood was taking pictures with Fetty’s massive, custom “1738” pendant.

“Just to set the record straight. I personally didn’t take @fettywap1738 chain. I’m not responsible for no one else action but my own,” Fuzz said. “I don’t have a personal problem Fetty Wap. He just a good kid in the way. How he got his chain taken I don’t know and I don’t care. That’s none of my business. Did I take a picture with it? Yes. The whole down the hill got a picture with it on…I will love to take the credit for it but unfortunately, my Instagram is no liar.”

Fuzz is CEO of The Muscle Team. He was featured with a number of local rappers who recorded a song called “Got Em,” which is a diss record towards Fetty Wap.

The song also featured rapper P. Dice, a former member of Fetty’s crew, who claims he is owed $7 million for writing the song “679.”

In April of 2016, P Dice was hit with attempted murder charges in April of 2016, for a shootout that left a 7-year-old boy injured.

He was sprung from prison on a $250,000 bail, which was posted by Nascar team owner Ralo Wonder and his Wonder Boy imprint, which then released the Fetty Wap diss track “No Vaseline 2.”

Vigil Held For Victims In Cincinnati Mass Shooting: Hip-Hop Club Closed Down

(AllHipHop News) A vigil was held tonight (March 28) outside of a Cincinnati nightclub, in honor of the victims of a mass shooting.

One man was struck in the chest and sixteen others were wounded inside of nightclub, Cameo, in Cincinnati, Ohio last weekend.

There were several gunmen who were shooting over what is believed to be some type of dispute.

No arrests have been made.

The news upset those involved in the
local hip-hop scene.

Cameo was one of the few hip-hop night clubs in the city and locals have worried that this will prohibit other hip hop clubs from opening because people are afraid that things like this will happen.

Cameo was opened in 2013 and attracted huge rappers such as Drake and Lil Wayne who appeared there in 2014.

The owner of Cameo, Julian Rodgers, also owns several nightclubs such as OTR Live In Over-the-Rhine which regularly attracts big list rappers.

Rodgers also organized the Cincinnati Summer Jam last year which featured huge rappers such as T.I., Young Jeezy, and 2 Chainz at Northern Kentucky University.

“We need more venues for hip hop because there’s that fear about what the hip hop realm attracts,” Kick Lee, a local music producer said. “This is not the end.”

Unfortunately, it is the end for cameo, as the owners have stated they will close the nightclub permanently after the shooting.

In related news, Cincinnati restaurateur Jeff Ruby has offered up a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects.

“Bad Boys 3” Director Denies He Left The Film Because Of A Beef With Will Smith

(AllHipHop News) Filmmaker Joe Carnahan is denying reports he exited “Bad Boys 3” because he was feuding with franchise star Will Smith, insisting he is a huge fan of the actor.

The “Smoking Aces” director signed on to direct the third film in the franchise in 2015, but he quit the project earlier this month, and sources told The Hollywood Reporter the filmmaker was forced to leave because of scheduling conflicts, while insiders claimed creative differences and “bad blood” between him and Smith were the real reason for his departure.

Carnahan has now revealed he dropped out of directing the sequel to focus on his new company with actor and producer Frank Grillo.

“I am and remain a huge fan of Will,” he told the New York Post’s Page Six. “There was zero bad blood. However, I started a new company with Frank Grillo, and the demands of that pulled me away from BB3 after the long development process. That’s it. No other drama.”

“Bad Boys,” the popular Will Smith and Martin Lawrence franchise, last hit the big screen in 2003. In August “Bad Boys For Life’s” release date was pushed back from June to January, before Sony pushed it back once more to November next year.

It’s not clear when the film will hit theaters following Carnahan’s departure. Before the director’s exit, Smith told U.S. late night host Jimmy Kimmel, “It is very, very, very close.”

The first “Bad Boys” was released in 1995, with Michael Bay directing parts one and two.

A third installment has been planned for nearly 10 years, and numerous writers, including Peter Craig and David Guggenheim, have been attached to the project.

“Bad Boys 4” has also already been announced.

Kim Kardashian Almost Snapped When She Read The Reports About Paris Robbery

(AllHipHop News) Kim Kardashian feared she might “snap” because of the negative press surrounding her robbery ordeal in October.

The reality TV star was bound, gagged and held at gunpoint as armed men gained access to her private hotel suite in the French capital and stole millions of dollars’ worth of jewelry and electronics.

She has been opening about the traumatic incident recently on TV show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and in the latest episode, she was caught sobbing while reading allegations the robbery was fake or an inside job.

She also discovered someone had recorded her inside the hotel hours after the robbery, that online users were making fun of her and saying they wished she had died, and the reality star admitted she was desperately trying not to let it all get her down.

“It really is hard when people sometimes don’t treat you like you’re human and you’re going through such a real, raw experience,” she said. “It’s really traumatizing. I even saw a comment where someone wished I died that night. What evil of a person are you that you would really wish death upon someone? It just really sucks when you’re getting judged by the whole world.”

She also found a Hollywood costume based on her ordeal which depicted her being gagged while wearing a big diamond ring.

“I’m trying to not let it get to me,” the 36-year-old later told the cameras. “I hope I don’t snap.”

During the episode, Kim suffers from flashbacks, including one time when her husband Kanye West arrives home in the early hours of the morning after a concert and another where her sister Khloe finds her crying in her bedroom.

Khloe calls for the cameras to be turned off and later explains to the cameras, “Kim is such a strong, strong woman, but to have a gun held to your head, not knowing what’s going to happen to you, that st fks you up. I know she’s going back to those feelings and the terrifying thoughts. This is going to be an incredibly long journey for her.”

Kendrick Lamar’s recent song, “The Heart Part 4,” left the impression the TDE emcee is ready to return with his next studio album on that date.

April 7 is also the date Joey Bada$$ is dropping his sophomore studio album All-Amerikkkan Bada$$.

On Instagram, the Brooklyn spitter declared 4/7 as “the new global Hip Hop appreciation day.”

Other rap stars scheduled to release projects on the same day include Tech N9ne (Dominion) and 2 Chainz (Pretty Girls Like Trap Music).

So far this year, Hip Hop acts have accounted for 56% of the albums to hit the#1 spot on the Billboard 200.

Migos’ Culture, Big Sean’s I Decided, Future’s FUTURE and HNDRXX, and Drake’s More Life have each topped the chart in 2017.

Forget Rappers, Drake Is Taking On Elvis Presley As The New “King”

(AllHipHop News) Drake has broken his own chart record in America by landing 24 titles on the Billboard Hot 100 in the same week.

The rapper has also passed Lil Wayne for the most hits among soloists in the countdown’s 58-year history – with 154.

All 22 tracks from his chart-topping album More Life have hit the new chart, as well as two other hits, passing his own one week mark by four.

The haul of hits helps Drake roll past Lil Wayne’s 135 mentions on the chart. He’s now 53 Hot 100 hits behind the Glee Cast, who charted 207 times during the TV show’s run.

Elvis Presley is the only other artist who has hit the Hot 100 over 100 times.

Drake’s new records come a week after his pal Nicki Minaj passed Aretha Franklin for the highest total among female soloists.

Minaj has now chalked up 77 Hot 100 entries thanks to her appearance on Jason Derulo’s “Swalla,” which debuts at 98.

Drake’s Hot 100 haul runs from his Minaj collaboration “No Frauds” at 84 to “Passionfruit” and Portland debuting at number eight and nine, respectively.

He and Ed Sheeran are now the only two artists to have debuted two songs in the top 10 in the same week.

Meanwhile, Sheeran chalks up another week at number one with “Shape of You.” The Brit has now spent nine weeks on top.

Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like” holds at two, while Zayn and Taylor Swift’s “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever (Fifty Shades Darker)” returns to the top three.

Migos’ “Bad and Boujee,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert, drops to four and The Weeknd’s “I Feel It Coming” rounds out the top five.

Cam’ron Says That Ma$e Took It “Too Far” With Becoming A Pastor

Cam’ron got off on a tangent while on Instagram live, and he got on the subject of Ma$e once becoming a pastor. According to Cam’ron Ma$e had lost his mind and had gone too far at the time.

Many people from the outside actually thought Ma$e had found his faith or become more connected to it, and that he also wanted to get away from the music industry. Cam’ron says when a person approaches him, before they can even comment on him “maintaining” he will just tell them “God Bless” them, so they won’t be too concerned with how he’s living. Cam said but Ma$e took the same approach too far.

“That’s what Ma$e did. Ma$e went worldwide. Ma$e said you know what, I’m just gonna say I’m in church. Ma$e took it too far though. Starting preaching and all that sh-t. I see what he was doing with that sh-t. He was like you know what n-ggas aint gonna MF harass me if I’m in church. They can’t beef with me, they can’t ask me for nothing. I’ma throw on the Rev. Run collar, and get the f-ck out of here,” said Cam.

Cam said he used to be mad at Ma$e because he was younger than him, and was like “really come on”, but his mentality grew up.

He said Ma$e was 22 with $10 million dollars as he went triple platinum at 22, so he completely understands how and why Ma$e went crazy.

Cam says Ma$e saw a lot of violence around him, so he decided to take the chips he had and go to church.

Cam says he knows people in their 30s and 40s that can’t even handle $10 million dollars and would even lose their mind with $1 million. Cam is suggesting that Mase didn’t “find his faith”, but instead it was a play to avoid some stuff.

According to Cam, he learned from Mase what not to do, but he’s not even mad at Mase for going crazy and losing his mind because he was one of the first to have that much money at a young age. Cam even said that Ma$e doesn’t have his “divine goodness” anymore as he returned to rapping, cussing, and touring.

An Alleged Leaked Kendrick Lamar Track List Promises Big Collaborations

(AllHipHop Rumors) An alleged track list for Kendrick Lamar’s forthcoming album has been floating around the net, and we haven’t completely decided whether or not we will call BS on it.

K. Dot surprised us with “The Heart Part 4”, and even warned us to prepare for April 7th. It seems like we are definitely getting an album from him next month.

Now an alleged track list has leaked, and it’s looking like K. Dot will have another classic album. According to the said list, he will collaborate with Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Sounwave, Anna Wise and Terrace Martin, and the album will also allegedly feature D’Angelo, Q-Tip, Kanye West, Andre 3000, and Anderson .Paak.

Yo this actually sounds a bit believable, and I know for a fact that Kendrick is a fan of D’Angelo because he told us.

I don’t want to get all excited for something that may be fabricated though. As you know, no one has more time on their hands than stans, and trolls. Someone could have taken the time to make this just to mess with all of our hearts and minds.

Although it was just as tired as her verse on “No Frauds”, we all know that she’s talking about Remy!

After telling Trey Songz that she got him 6 plagues and hearing his response saying that she ain’t have sh-t before their “Bottoms Up” collaboration still has Nicki hot with Trey also. She subliminally dissed Trey when she asked her fan base, the Barbz, to send her a list of everyone who had ever opened up for her, and she knows Trey Songz is on that list! LOL. PETTY!

“Barbz, could 1 of you send me a list of all my opening acts I’ve ever had on American & World Tours??? thx – onika tanya maraj,” tweeted Nicki.

Kanye West Confirms Whether Or Not He Will Host An American Idol Reboot

Word on the street has been that Kanye West was set to host a reboot of American Idol!

It’s clear that Ye is a great producer, musician, and artist, but I don’t know if he’d be a good fit to judge a singing competition show.

He’d show his whole azz if someone won or got to go to Hollywood that he didn’t agree with. I trust Ye’s ear more than I trust Nicki Minaj’s for her time period that she was a host. Having Jennifer Lopez (who can barely sing), and Minaj who raps but thinks she can sing, as hosts always struck many as odd.

On the flip side, judging or hosting the show should be done by a person that has a great ear for music, so to have a great ear, doesn’t necessarily require being able to sing. So I guess….it could work.

According to TMZ, as of right now, Kanye will not be hosting a reboot of American Idol or any other show for that matter, according to one of his reps.

Mannnnn the auditions used to be the best part of American Idol. Idc Idc, Ye would make for some good TV at first, and then we would hate him.

John Singleton: Ice Cube Turned Down Tupac’s Role In ‘Poetic Justice’ (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Acclaimed director John Singleton stopped by The Breakfast Club to promote his new BET series Rebel.

During the conversation, Singleton revealed one of his most celebrated movies could have had a different lead actor.

“I was going to do Poetic Justice. I was putting it all together. Janet [Jackson] was already in. Originally, Ice Cube was supposed to be in it, and Ice Cube didn’t want to be in a romance,” said the 49-year-old filmmaker.

Cube – who worked with Singleton on Boyz n the Hood and Higher Learning – apparently was offered the role of Lucky which was eventually given to Tupac Shakur.

“Chicks like you,” Singleton apparently told Ice Cube about starring in the 1993 romantic drama. “[He said,] ‘I can’t do that right now in my career.’”

Singleton also dispelled the rumors that Pac was forced to take an HIV test before appearing in kissing scenes with Jackson.

“That was a joke between all of us on set because all guys like Janet,” Singleton recalled.

This is not the first time Singleton shared a Hollywood story about a rap star that turned down a part in one of his projects.

Back in 2015, he discussed how Ja Rule refused $500,000 for 2 Fast 2 Furious.

The production hired Ludacris instead, and the Atlanta rhymer went on to appear in several more blockbusters from the Fast & Furious franchise.

Rebel debuts on BET tonight (March 28) at 10 pm ET.

DJ Khaled Is Going To Be In “Pitch Perfect 3”

(AllHipHop News) DJ Khaled has joined the star-studded cast of the next “Pitch Perfect” movie.

The hip-hop star teased his new role on social media, as he shared a behind-the-scenes look at the film set.

Khaled didn’t give much away about the film’s plot or his role in the video clips, but confirmed, “DJ Khaled will be in ‘Pitch Perfect 3.’”

He also got co-star Elizabeth Banks in on the action, asking her to help him make the official announcement.

The actress, who also directed the last “Pitch Perfect” sequel, said, “Well, you’re here aren’t you?”

Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will return to lead the cast of “Pitch Perfect 3,” which will also feature Hailee Steinfeld, Anna Camp, Ruby Rose, Brittany Snow, John Lithgow, and Trinidad James.

The film will hit cinemas in December.

RZA Has Something Important To Say About Donald Trump In New Song “No Refuge”

(AllHipHop News) RZA is coming out against President Donald Trump’s immigration policy in his new song “No Refuge.”

In the lyrics, the rapper slams the U.S. leader for his attempted ban on refugees entering the country and commends the bravery of those who have fled war zones.

“Let’s make America great again/But not a place that’s filled with bigotry, racism and hate again,” the 47-year-old raps on the track. “I wanna fall at the feet of Lady Liberty/From the redwood forest to the Gulf Stream to the land of the brave and the free, where there’s freedom of speech, freedom to teach/But they won’t let me in, no, they won’t let me in.”

In the video for the song, which features Italian electronic duo Parisi, a group of refugees search for a place to settle as they drift through a murky and isolated landscape.

They then perform an expressive contemporary dance routine while surrounded by fog.

Directed by Ben Strebel, the harrowing clip captures the displacement faced by those forced to flee their homelands.

The former Wu-Tang Clan star and Parisi plan to donate proceeds from the track’s digital sales to the United Nations Refugee Agency.

Wiz Khalifa Says He Didn’t Mean To Offend Anyone With Pablo Escobar Picture

(AllHipHop News) Wiz Khalifa has kind of apologized for angering local citizens in Medellin, Colombia during his tour of the country.

The Pittsburgh rapper was in town for a series of appearances, when he decided to visit the grave of deceased drug lord Pablo Escobar.

This angered the mayor of Medellin, who labeled Wiz a “scoundrel” for supporting a drug lord who butchered thousands of people.

Wiz took to Instagram earlier this morning and addressed the issue.

“Didn’t mean to offend anyone with my personal activities in Colombia but I’m glad we came and got work done and everyone was safe. Peace and love,” the rapper said.

Other than his kerfuffle with the Mayor, it looks like Wiz’ trip to cities like Medellin and Bogota went well.
