(AllHipHop News) It was only a matter of time before Donald Trump took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Snoop Dogg’s controversial new visuals.
This morning the president posted a tweet directly mentioning Snoop.
“Can you imagine what the outcry would be if [Snoop Dogg], failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!” wrote Trump.
Snoop has faced some backlash for his “Lavender” music video by BADBADNOTGOOD which includes the Hip Hop artist firing a prop gun at a man dressed like Trump wearing clown makeup.
“It’s basically him saying everybody’s a clown, including Trump, which I think we all agree. The part where he points the gun at the president is against the law. You gotta know that,” Ice-T says into a camera. “You can’t kill the president. But I think he pushed the line.”
Treach added, “It was a confetti gun. When he shoots everything out, nobody got shot. Confetti came out. It’s artistic.”
Snoop Dogg joins the Hamilton cast, the Saturday Night Live cast, Meryl Streep, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and other “so-called ‘A’ list celebrities” on the list of famous critics to get a Twitter reaction from the POTUS.
Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!
(AllHipHop News) Kehlani’s upcoming shows in Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Austria, France, Belgium and Netherlands will have to be rescheduled.
The R&B singer announced on social media that an “unexpected surgery” is causing her to postpone those European dates for the “Sweet Sexy Savage Tour.”
She wrote on Instagram:
Hey guys… I’ve enjoyed being on the road in Europe so so much these past weeks. I’m deeply saddened to announce that I have to fly home for sudden unexpected surgery on my stomach, as some of you know I have a hernia (that squishy ball thingy above my belly button) and it’s gotten to a point if necessary surgery. I’m going to have to reschedule the rest of my European tour in order to get it done and heal up. thank you for all of your support. I love you guys…
Kehlani also revealed to her 300,000 Twitter followers that she will provide refunds for the shows.
(AllHipHop Features) Leaders and bosses come in many different forms. Holly “Lil Bear” Lawson has experienced greatness first hand as a Top 5 Welterweight contender, but now she uses her experiences to help a star-studded clientele take their talents to new heights as a celebrity trainer. Holly’s uncanny motivational techniques have helped actors such as Rosamund Pike (“Die Another Day”, “Girl Gone, A Untied Kingdom”), Alexandra Shipp (“X-Men: Apocalypse” “Straight Outta Compton”), Sophie Turner (“Game of Thrones, X-Men Apocalypse”), Eddie Cahill (“Under The Dome”, “CSI:NY”), and Aimee Carrero (“Elena if Avalor”, “Young and Hungry”, “The Last Witch Hunter”). She has also trained artistic eccentrics like Grammy-winning superstar Lorde, producer Brook D’Leau and Hip-Hop artist Murs. Even AllHipHop’s own Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur has sought out Lil’ Bear’s expertise. “I’ve fought my whole life, both in the ring and outside. My training philosophy is helping people become the best versions of themselves, physically, emotionally and spiritually,” says Lawson.
She has been featured on mainstream outlets like E! Online, Elle UK, Yahoo.com, Variety, W Magazine, Healthista.com, Self.com, Daily Mail (The UK’s largest paper) and more. Continually challenging herself, Holly is a Bellator MMA fighter and a California Golden Gloves Champion. “Holly works harder than most of the male world champions I see. She has always brought a welcome light, along with her talent to Wildcard. We are all big fans of her both professionally and personally,” says Freddie Roach, Hall of Fame Boxing Trainer. Holly “Lil Bear” Lawson is an entrepreneur of another sort. She moves between Hip-Hop, Hollywood, combat sports and celebrity, all seeking remarkable metamorphosis in their physiques.
AllHipHop: Explain what you’re job entails:
Holly Lawson: A lot of telling people they can’t eat donuts for breakfast and make their fitness goals! I am side eying Aimee Carrero and Alexandra Shipp right now. In all seriousness, technically I am a trainer, although my role in a lot of peoples lives tends to fall more into a life coach capacity, so my job changes daily.
I am in the final stages of a training platform that’ll be available via an app as well as online, so there’s a lot of energy going into that. I’ve also got a boxing and Hip-Hop podcast I am launching with Glasses Malone next month and I’ve been working on commentating in boxing (which is my first love and a huge part of everything I do).
AllHipHop: What’s the most enjoyable part of the job and your duties:
Holly Lawson: My jobs – plural – keep me bouncing between worlds, so I get to experience and work in different environments, with different people. I’m not sure I have finished finding my calling, but I do know I am super grateful for the space and opportunity to work with the people I work with. I would definitely say that getting to work with my clients daily is one of my biggest blessings.
AllHipHop: What is the hardest part:
Holly Lawson: I am a professional boxer and there was a point I reached with it, that I realized that boxing wasn’t taking me where I needed to go in order to keep growing as a human being. So I had to put boxing to the side for a bit, while I fully embraced all the other opportunities that were being offered to me. What is interesting about that, is that when I chose to stop chasing it, boxing came back into my life on its own accord. You know that saying “if you love something let it go, if it comes back to you, it was meant for you”? It’s usually applied to relationships between people but I believe it fully applies to a person and their purpose too.
Alexandra Shipp and Holly Lil Bear Lawson
AllHipHop: What advice can you offer people that want to be where you are or aspire to make it in the business?
Holly Lawson: ALWAYS be authentically yourself. So much of what people do today is based on them trying to gain social media followers or achieve some false sense of accomplishment with likes and attention. What I have learned being within “Hollywood”, is that those people are going to come and go, without so much as a blink from the people who really make decisions about the business that matters. Everyone is out here lying about who they are and what they do, all of a sudden everyone is an “actor” or a “trainer” or a “fighter”, and they think because they dress the part and post pics of themselves posing, that they are convincing people that they’re legitimate. That can only fool people so long, eventually you’re going to have to put up or shut up. The way to avoid any of that is to just always be honest about who you are, what you are good at and what type of person you are.
I’ve found that by establishing a reputation, first within boxing then within training and entertainment, for being authentic, has served me really well. People always know what they’re getting with me and that has been passed via personal referrals, so my circle has expanded for sure, but when I meet someone they already know who I am, what I am about and when they get to know me better, they will discover more depth to my abilities and interests, but they’ll always know who I am at my core and the things that I stand for.
AllHipHop: Can you describe a moment of adversity personal or in your career?
Holly Lawson: Geez…When isn’t there going to be adversity in life? That’s always there, it changes from day to day but there’s always something. Whenever you’re an entrepreneur and work for yourself, there’s the freelance struggle: do I have enough work this month to do A/B/C/D? Am I so busy I don’t have time to breathe by myself for an hour? How do I trademark something? Am I working fast enough on that other project?
Training is interesting because while most of my clients train with me year round, I have a few who live abroad so I see them when they are in LA or they come to work with me to get ready for a certain project etc. So my work days change from week to week, juggling different people/projects/personalities is certainly something I have had to learn to adjust to quickly.
I had a moment last year, in which I looked around and realized that I was investing time/energy into some people (both clients professionally and people in my personal life), who weren’t offering me any growth/energy/learning experiences in return, I made a decision from then on, that I would only work with people I like as human beings, who I feel good about spending so much time and energy on. I definitely let go of some clients (and some money) and some friends, which was a little tough for a bit, but I have found myself being happier than I have ever been. I honestly love everyone I work with and I have been meeting people in my personal life that are nothing short of amazing. Cutting the dead weight hurt a bit, but it was worth it.
AllHipHop: What keeps you from giving up working within a male dominated industry
Holly Lawson: I’ve almost always worked in male dominated fields. Boxing is basically all men running everything, I’ve managed rappers many years ago, it’s all the same. Personally, I am comfortable working with men. They are up front about who they see as competition and you can tell right away if they see you as a threat.
I never saw it as something that would make me want to quit, I just always saw it as a reason to prove them wrong.
AllHipHop: Who inspired you to become a leader or boss
Holly Lawson: I’ve always wanted to make changes in the world, everything I do is coming from that place. Any act of leadership has always been because I knew someone needed to stand up for whatever was right and create an avenue that wasn’t there.
How do you balance work and personal life?
Holly Lawson: That’s a really tough equation when you are an entrepreneur. I’m still learning how to create boundaries and define time that belongs only to me. I try to carve out time in my schedule to dedicate solely to my personal growth. I have always been a voracious reader, so making time to read is one of my biggest rewards I can give myself.
AllHipHop: What do you do for fun?
Holly Lawson: I love going to boxing matches, art galleries and museums, book stores, lectures, anything that feeds my brain and helps me grow is good. Alternately, I love going to the movies. It’s the whole experience of the theatre that I love, I think it’s because I grew up really poor with a single mom, in a small town in Canada. We had one theatre in the town, it would play one movie, sometimes for a week or two at a time. Because we didn’t have much money, going to the movie theatre was a big deal and we didn’t get to do it very often. It’s now something I love to do to relax. It’s also often work, checking out how people look, how prepared they are for roles etc. I love seeing my team up there, nothing more rewarding than seeing months of hard work pay off on the big screen.
AllHipHop: Final words?
Holly Lawson: Success is all relative and happiness is purely personal but the second you stop chasing either and start living to make change for others who aren’t as fortunate as you, will be the exact moment both of former will come to you. I promise……#notallheroeswearcapes.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Although everyone has written off troubled rapper Azealia Banks, more and more details about her troubled behavior continue to emerge.
Banks’ recent run-ins with the law and arrests are nothing new of the sort. However, details of a previous assault by Banks on a family member have now emerged.
Fix it Jesus! Azealia was previously taken into custody for slicing and dicing her own sister wit a box cutter. Sometimes family can be worst than your friends or enemies people.
According to NYDaily, Azealia slashed her sister in the hand, neck, and arm back in April 2009.
Although it’s fairly unknown what lead up to the incident, no one is really on Banks’ side thinking that it could’ve been self defense. In fact, most are believing that it was probably the exact opposite. Banks is always involved in some type of altercation, so it probably didn’t take much to tick her off.
The box cutter incident surfaced as prosecutors have been trying to prove that Banks is a violent and confrontational person while she’s on trial for last year’s fight in NY. This shouldn’t be hard to prove with the girl’s history of violence and altercations.
In interesting news, Banks plans to represent herself in court, but, we don’t even know if she will show up.
Why can’t anyone intervene and make the girl get some help?!

(AllHipHop News) Snoop Dogg is receiving some backlash for his controversial video, in which he shoots a Donald Trump look-alike.
Snoop Dogg’s video for “Lavender” featuring Kaytranadaha, been drawing the wrath of a variety Republicans, since it was released on March 12.
Snoop’s “Lavender” video features the rapper caught in a world of evil clowns, which features President Trump as the main protagonist.
Towards the end, Snoop grabs a fake gun and shoots the POTUS, who also smokes some bud in the video.
Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen took aim at Snoop Dogg over the clip, while expressing disappointment in the rap star.
“It’s totally disgraceful, Snoop owes the president and apology. There’s absolutely nothing funny about an assassination attempt on the President,” President Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen said.
Snoop and Trump were somewhat friendly in past years, before Trump launched his campaign and captured the White House last year.
Snoop infamously roasted the billionaire real estate mogul/reality show star for Comedy Central March of 2011, however, it looks like their friendship has certainly cooled off.
“This motherf##ker (Trump) tried to put up; him winning the presidency; police being able to kill motherf##kers and get away with it; people being in jail for weed for 20, 30 years and motherf**kers that’s not black on the streets making money off of it – but if you got color or ethnicity connected to your name, you’ve been wrongfully accused or locked up for it, and then you watching people not of color position themselves to get millions and billions off of it,” Snoop Dogg told Billboard.
Michael Cohen said there was a double standard, had anybody and had any popular musician put out such a video about President Obama, the condemnation would have come much faster.
“I would not have accepted it if it were President Obama I certainly do not accept it as President Trump,” Cohen said.
Cohen told Snoop he needed to take some notes from NFL legend Jim Brown, who decided to work closely with Trump instead of opposing the administration.
Michael Cohen joins a growing number of Trump supporters, like Senator Marco Rubio, an admitted hip-hop fan who condemned Snoop’s “Lavender” video.
Some hip-hop artists came out and supported Snoop’s video, like veterans Treach and Ice T, who had his own problems with the government over his “Cop Killer” track with Body Count in 1991.
However, Trump’s lawyer did not see the point of the video.
“I’m not really sure I understand the artistic value having someone dressed up as Trump and firing a weapon at him,” Michael Cohen stated.
According to reports, the Secret Service is looking into the “Lavender” video.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Nicki Minaj fails to realize that no matter how well your “diss” record is charting, it’s still wack to the majority of Hip Hop fans.
Like the rest of us, veteran DJ Ed Lover has been waiting for a true Nicki Minaj response to Remy Ma bodying the girl on “ShETHER”.
Ed Lover’s passion and fervor for a true response from Nicki was more heightened than the average fan because he’s been in the game so long, and he’s seen plenty of historic rap battles. A battle between a Queens and Bronx rapper is supposed to be epic all the way around.
Although in Nicki’s mind, she truly believes that she came at Remy’s head on “No Frauds,” Lover feels that she basically took an L.
“Mama, you gotta beast out now. We from the thorough borough of Queens, New York. Legendary rap beefs. You gotta beast out Ma. You can’t do one verse, you gotta do a whole song,” said Ed Lover.
Lover even reminded Nicki about the historic rap battles that came before her such as that between LL Cool J and Kool Moe Dee, Nas and Jay-Z, and KRS-1 and MC Shan.
Many believe that Nicki was wack for giving Remy a verse as well as having Lil Wayne and Drake on the “diss” record. While Nicki seems to be stressing that she’s about hit records and not diss records, she was still supposed to deliver just off of how Hip Hop and it’s battles work in general.
Barbie Nicki took too long to respond, and Remy is indifferent now, so I feel that this beef has truly ran its course.
(AllHipHop News) Draymond Green has added his opinion to the ongoing discussion surrounding Remy Ma versus Nicki Minaj.
The Golden State Warriors player covered Hip Hop’s most recent feud on his Uninterrupted podcast with Marcus Thompson II.
Green focused on the fact that Nicki responded to Remy’s “ShETHER” and “Another One” with “No Frauds” which featured her Young Money partners Drake and Lil Wayne.
“I can’t really view it as a diss song. I can only view it as Nicki threw some shots in a song because you got Wayne on there, who I don’t even know what Wayne was talking about on there,” said Green. “Then you got Drake on there. They’re really just rapping. They ain’t dissing nobody. So to say this is a diss song… ‘ShETHER’ was a diss song.”
He added, “I feel like [Nicki] tried to use the level of her fans, Wayne’s fans, and Drake’s fans to boost the song up the chart. I feel like she was trying to use that as her diss.”
Green went on to say even if that was Nicki’s strategy she should not have put Drake and Wayne on the record because the Queens rapstress was just trying to take advantage of their followers.
“I ain’t really buying that,” said the NBA forward.
The Uninterrupted conversation included Green taking issue with Nicki constantly name dropping Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James.
“By the way, is Nicki Minaj gonna mention Bron in every song?” Green pondered. “Like, every song she has released since June 2016, there’s something about LeBron in it. I mean dang. LeBron is great but Jesus Christ. At some point, it just becomes too repetitive.”
(AllHipHop News) Snoop Dogg found himself facing some backlash for imagery in his new “Lavender” video.
The clip features the Hip Hop legend pointing a toy gun at a clown dressed like Donald Trump.
Two fellow rap veterans are backing Snoop up on his right to artistic expression.
“It’s basically him saying everybody’s a clown, including Trump, which I think we all agree. The part where he points the gun at the president is against the law. You gotta know that,” Ice-T says into a camera. “You can’t kill the president. But I think he pushed the line.”
Treach of Naughty By Natures said, “It was a confetti gun. When he shoots everything out, nobody got shot. Confetti came out. It’s artistic.”
“It was artistic,” Ice-T added.
The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star also suggested Trump is open to being ridiculed because he gives his critics so much material to make fun of.
In addition, Treach questioned why the Trump “shooting” is a problem but there is no widespread objection to black-on-black violence in music videos.
“That’s not threatening to nobody?” asked the “Hip Hop Hooray” rapper.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Chicago rapper Chance The Rapper has certainly become a fan favorite. He’s also had a great 2017 already as the rapper won 3 Grammy awards at the 2017 Grammys.
Chance recently sat down with Complex to talk about his journey as an artist and as a father. As Chance reflected on his trailblazing career path [as an independent artist] through the music industry and his ambitious plans for his next album, he also revealed that his next project is going to be his first album, and that everything that preceded it was actually a mixtape. He also revealed that he may actually sell his first album!
“I might actually sell this album. That’s like a big step in itself. Kinda hate the fact that I can’t chart really, but the way they have the stream sh-t set up is weak AF. It’s unfair. I don’t know if it’s 1,500 or 1,700 streams is the equivalent to one unit. That’s unfair, no one listens to their song 1,700 times when they buy it. F-ck out of here. It makes it hard; I can’t really compete with other people. Not that the charts matter at all, but like come on. Anyways I think having it for purchase would be dope. This is all like hypothetical. There is no album. This is an idea. I have songs recorded, but I’m not working on a ‘Coloring Book’. I’m chilling right now. But I think in part it being for retail, I want to make something that has a wider scope. I think whatever this album is wouldn’t be so centered,” said Chance.
What are you thoughts? Are you ready for new music from Chance?
Last year, the Flatbush Zombies released their debut studio album “3001: A Laced Odyssey” which was well received by fans and critics. In honor of the LP’s one-year anniversary, the Brooklyn-bred crew decided to bless fans with a new record titled “Babel.”
The single’s artwork was designed by comic book artist David Nakayama.
(AllHipHop Features) We discussed the political climate with actor and superstar rapper Ice T right as the election season was about to heat up in 2016. We all know how crazy the entire election cycle turned out to be and how wild it remains post-election as controversial executive orders, lawsuits, weird press conferences, and Twitter wars ensue. Ice T has never been one to hold his tongue when it comes to sharing an opinion whether it be politics or music so it was only right that we have another conversation with the OG about the state of affairs in our country. Ice just doesn’t hold back in this interview as the new album Bloodlust (release date March 31, 2017) from his metal band Body Count is politically charged and filled with social themes over insanely fast tempo metal tracks. It was, after all, Body Count who lit up the music and political spectrum with the highly controversial 1992 “Cop Killer” song that stirred up debates and protests from lawmakers and executives. So put on your reading glasses as we chop it up again with the OG to get his thoughts on everything from politics to his new album in this new AllHipHop.com exclusive interview.
AllHipHop: The last time we spoke you mentioned to me that 2016 was going to be “interesting” year as far as the election was concerned. Was it as wild as you thought it would be?
Ice-T: I don’t think anybody could have predicted it being as wild as it was. These past few years including the one we’re living in right now have put reality shows out of business. Right now I could tell you that Trump punched a lady in the face and you would actually go check it instead of dismissing it. Anything can f***ing happen at this moment. I’ve lived through quite a few presidents but this has to be the wildest presidency I’ve ever witnessed. Wouldn’t you agree?
AllHipHop: Yes! I can log on to Twitter everyday and see some outrageous post from Trump.
Ice-T: Coming from the rap community we’re used to seeing beef but these motherf**ers have outdone us! Soulja Boy can’t even keep up with this bullsht. It’s out of control! I just read the other day that Trump had TMZ up on his office. What’s the angle in having TMZ come to the White House? All of this has gone past my wildest imagination.
AllHipHop: You made a joke about the inauguration and I found it hilarious that some people actually thought you were considering a performance.
Ice-T: That’s because we’re in the world of lunacy now. This is Looney Tunes world. One thing about the new album is that I never mentioned his name on the record. The reason I didn’t was because anybody with a brain didn’t think he was going to become president. My attitude was if I mention him and I have a record coming out in March of 2017 and he’s not president, then I’ll sound stupid – or at least that’s what I thought. Now who would have thought this could happen?
I have reasons for why he won. Hillary didn’t really give us the best option. Bernie Sanders had the young vote but he couldn’t win the nomination and his supporters refused to vote for Hillary. Black Lives Matter came out and scared the hell out of people and then black people – we didn’t vote. It was like Black Lives Matter scared people and drove them to the ballot boxes. I guess we kind of played ourselves in this position because you can never underestimate your opponent and that’s what I think we did.
AllHipHop: This was like the perfect storm.
Ice-T: It was the perfect storm but we’re at a point in our history where nobody in their right mind who has the qualifications wants to be the president. You can’t win with that job. You have half of the country that hates you, people who want to kill you, and you’re not really being financially rewarded for it. The only reason to be president is because it’s something that you really want. I can’t even control my own household – like paying my cable bill and sht (laughs). Why would I want the problems of the world? Although I’m aware that people might listen to me, I’m just on my soapbox running my sht. I’m not willing in any way to take over that job. F*** that!
AllHipHop: Now that you bring that up, I recall someone on Twitter recently asking you if you had any political aspirations.
Ice-T: I’m a soapbox politician. I stand on the sidelines making my political surveys for what it’s worth. One of my comments about being in politics was that I got out of crime. I don’t have people in my life lobbying me and getting me to say what they want me to say. I say what I want and I like that. Once you take that job, you are under severe pressure and I think Obama found that out. I think Obama went in with all good intentions but the second you become the president, you get your hands dirty and you’re responsible for death. They are responsible for it and they have to write all of those letters to the families of soldiers that died. It’s not a simple walk in the park.
AllHipHop: So let me ask you this, will Trump eventually be impeached?
Ice-T: I think Trump is going to be turned on by his own people. I don’t know if it will be impeachment but most of his pain is not going to come from the Democrats or liberals – by the way this year was the first time I’ve ever been called a liberal. The people who voted for him will turn on him because I don’t think he’s going to be able to bring them the jobs and we’ve already seen the healthcare replacement plan. In the gang world if you want to run things, the other gangsters will only give you like six months and if it doesn’t pay out, they’re turning on you. I don’t think his promises will be met in orderly fashion like the wall and jobs. I just don’t think he’s going to pull it off. More and more people will become upset and he’ll have to deal with the fall out – and he can’t even deal with a tweet! Just recently he had a million women out in the streets marching against him. I have some women that don’t like me but not a million, god-damn! My dad used to tell me sometimes you just step in some sh*t that you can’t get off your shoe.
I watch CNN every night and they are on him for that Russian sh*t and then to top it off, he wakes up one morning and tweets at 6 a.m. accusing Obama of wiretapping him. I was like, “Are you on acid or something? Obama can’t just do that. There would have to be a governmental move to do that.
AllHipHop: Yeah, you would need a Federal judge to sign off on that and only with probable cause.
Ice-T: That can be easily checked and it’s not like he said, “I think he did it.” He said, “I know he did it.” Dude is going to self destruct.
AllHipHop: You and I can use Twitter and say whatever we want but it’s crazy that our top government official is using it without responsibility. He could get us all killed with some reckless tweets (laughs).
Ice-T: Wait a minute, stop it Tim – the most powerful person in the world! You can’t just talk sh*t. I was watching the news about China saying that we’re about to have a head on collision. You and I know that someone with power can’t just talk reckless – and we’re not the president. Certain people are supposed to be held to a higher standard We can talk about this dude forever. I mean, security briefings out in the open at his Mar-a-Lago club? It’s all out of control. He might be one of the coldest con-man players to have ever walked the earth.
AllHipHop: Legit news outlets are labeled “fake news” and he’s using known shady ones as his resources.
Ice-T: Fake news is just something to label as when he doesn’t agree with them. When it’s positive, then he’s good with it. Then there are people with blogs who can just say whatever they want with no standards. I’ve read some blogs about myself there were outrageous. I had to sue Mediatakeout for running a full f**ing story about me saying that I only like white women and not black ones. It was originally said by a guy named Official Ice – one of Joe Budden’s friends but it was attributed to me and it went viral. I had women dissing me and leaving me mad messages so I had to sue like five different websites. Slander is when it causes you harm. My thing is, I’ve said enough wild sht, so I don’t need lies to be made up. And while I’ve said crazy sht, I’ve never said stupid sht. .
AllHipHop: Let’s talk about the Bloodlust album now. On “Raining Blood” you explain that you started this band so your high school friend, Ernie C, can have a chance to play his guitar.
Ice-T: Ernie and I went to Crenshaw high school together and he’d always walk around with his guitar and play Peter Frampton in front of hundreds of Crips. They were like, “What the f*** is this dude doing?” but they knew he had skills. He leaned towards rock because that’s where all of the guitar solos are. He thought he was Ernie Isley, who is also another great guitar player, and had role models like Jimi Hendrix. When I left the streets and became Ice T, these cats would be in the studio like, “Where do I play?” I had to explain that I was making hip-hop records over samples. On my Rhyme Pays album, I used live drums and sample from Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” song just to show my connection to rock. That was cool but it wasn’t really possible to connect hip-hop and rock at that point still as it was mostly sample-driven. It took a minute for hip-hop to accept live instruments – you know, the replaying of tracks which Dr. Dre made popular.
I’d go to Europe with Public Enemy and these kids would mosh when Chuck would play “Bring Tha Noize.” Once you see a mosh pit, there is nothing like performing in front of one. I came home with the idea of making a band. Beatmaster V, who passed away from leukemia, he was selling weed and playing drums. Mooseman was selling weed and playing bass and D-Roc was Ernie’s student. I told them that I had an idea to get them away from dope dealing and play some music. They went with it and we started writing songs and performing around L.A. in pizza joints. We got the chance to play at Lollapalooza and I split the set with half Ice T songs and half Body Count ones. This was before the album.
AllHipHop: It’s interesting how Rock and Hip-Hop sometimes have a hard time accepting one another considering that Rock N Roll was originally black music and they are both children of the blues.
Ice-T: Quincy Jones once told me that pop music is easy because it’s just singing what everybody wants to hear. Rock is rebellious and has a “f*** you” attitude. Now rappers, we don’t R&B the mic – we “rock” the mic. We know we are rock without the guitars. But when you think about it, rock started with the pianos. It’s all attitude and if you ask any rock star from Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, or The Beatles, they’d tell you that they were just doing their version of black music. Led Zeppelin is like a soul band if you listen to the way they sing. There is no validity in the divide of genres.
The reason why some blacks can’t get into metal is because of the topic. In heavy metal they use what’s called raw or dirty lyrics where you can’t even hear what they are saying. What I’ve done is taken the music and given you lyrics that you can understand. All of my hip-hop people that have listened to this album are like, “Yo! This sh*t is dope!” Treach from Naughty By Nature called it “Gangster Metal.” I like doing what people say can’t be done.
AllHipHop: You talk about the meaning of bloodlust on the title track and state that we are the only things on earth that kill for sport.
Ice-T: The album is all different angles of blood lust whether it’s the robbers in “The Ski Mask Way” or the serial killer in “Here I Go Again.” In the record what I’m saying is that us human beings are our own virus. We have a bloodlust – all of us do. Even if you’re only into drama, rumors and gossip – that’s a blood lust. We all love to point fingers but you first have to address the issues inside of yourself and how f***ed up you are before you can start worrying about other people. The message of the album is that we humans are our own problem.

(AllHipHop News) During an interview with Hot 97, Samuel L. Jackson was critical of Hollywood for turning to Black British actors for roles in American movies.
The Kong: Skull Island star specifically spoke about Daniel Kaluuya playing the main part in the hit movie Get Out.
Director Jordan Peele’s satirical horror flick addressed interracial dating and racism in the United States.
“I tend to wonder what that movie had been with an American brother who really understands that in a way. Daniel grew up in a country where they’ve been interracial dating for a hundred years,” said Jackson.
He continued, “What would a brother from America had made of that role?”
Kaluuya addressed Jackson’s comments in an interview with GQ.
“Here’s the thing about that critique, though. I’m dark-skinned, bro. When I’m around black people I’m made to feel ‘other’ because I’m dark-skinned. I’ve had to wrestle with that, with people going ‘You’re too black,'” said the London native. “Then I come to America and they say, ‘You’re not black enough.’ I go to Uganda, I can’t speak the language. In India, I’m black. In the black community, I’m dark-skinned. In America, I’m British. Bro!”
Kaluuya added, “Let me say, I’m not trying to culture-vulture the thing. I empathize. That script spoke to me. I’ve been to Ugandan weddings, and funerals, and seen that cousin bring a white girl. That’s a thing in all communities. I really respect African American people. I just want to tell black stories.”
The 27-year-old son of Ugandan immigrants also praised Jackson for breaking down doors.
In his talk with Ebro In The Morning, Jackson expressed, despite the use of a British actor, the success of Get Out was great.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Producer beat battles are nothing new of the sort, but each one proves itself to be more and more epic than the last at times.
After all, there is nothing like a great showcasing of talent, and a chance for producers to run down their hits in the battle.
A few weeks ago Swizz Beatz and Just Blaze had an epic battle, and it looks like some prominent Atlanta producers are looking to bring that energy down south!
Lex Luger has now challenged fellow producer Southside to a beat battle where the winner will win $50,000.
Southside acknowledged the proposal, but decided to up the reward to $100k.
“So, I wake up. I got a DM from Lex Luger talking about a beat battle with me, Metro, and Sonny. Lex, this is $50,000… until you got a whole 100 on you you can gamble with, bro, don’t hit me talking about no beat battle … put a whole hundred on the table and we can beat battle,” said Southside.
Soon after, Lex Luger responded saying that he’d battle any producer. Southside couldn’t just accept the challenge. LOL. He instead had to go on Twitter to suggest that Luger wasn’t truly getting a large amount of money for his beats.
“I tell u what tell a n-gga get the hunnid grand and show it to me @SmokedOutLuger and not 6k and a 2003 bens and I’m on,” said Southside.
There isn’t a set date for the beat battle yet but producers like Drumma Boy, and Zaytoven’s names have been suggested too. Metro Boomin’ has even joked that he’s a little over $99k short to participate. Shawty Redd has even said don’t call him until producers are actually ready to make songs on the spot, and not play songs.
Who would you like to see added to the battle if this really goes down?
(AllHipHop News) Rapper Soulja Boy has slammed his mother as a “crackhead” after falling out over a diss track recorded by his own brother.
The “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” hitmaker, real name DeAndre Way, found himself under attack by his sibling John Way, who blasted the 26-year-old in a lyrical attack last week.
On the song, titled “Overdue,” John branded his brother a fraud and accused him of flashing his cash while their mom Lisa struggles to make ends meet.
He raps:
“All on the ‘gram flexin’ like you the f**kin’ man/My momma still on welfare, s**t I can’t understand it/You a compulsive liar, you the devil at his best.”
John took the sibling fight one step further by posting a video clip of himself and his mom on social media, in which he asks Lisa where they are, to which she responds, “In the middle of the God d**n hood.”
Now Soulja Boy has fired back at his relatives in a series of angry Twitter posts, claiming they are the liars who have been taking advantage of his generosity for years.
“Umma expose my mom and my brother,” he began in the first now-deleted tweet. “She a crackhead and he live with his dad he not in the hood they looking for a come up F##k them (sic)”.
He went on to accuse Lisa of spending $100,000 in a week, continuing, “You would be mad too. It’s a long story. F##k people that don’t appreciate u.
“The only time my mother call me is for money and my Lil brother a broke b##ch umma slap him when I see him f##k them. If you didn’t appreciate me when I was helping u don’t get mad when I stop and don’t make up Lies like u not the one that spent all ur cash (sic).”
He added, “I got a new mansion and millions in bank I don’t gotta give money that I don’t want to. Especially if u blow $100,000 every week for years (sic).”
Soulja Boy has since removed all messages about the family feud from his Twitter page.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Most days Lil Bow Wow should just choose to remain quiet.
At this point, I don’t know who takes the most L’s these days between Bow Wow, Soulja Boy, and Meek Mill!
Bow Wow is certainly one of the “can’t get rights” of our era! While it’s clear that the vast majority of our nation [and even beyond] is fed up with Donald Trump, sometimes you still have to restrain yourself or be reasonable to a certain extent when going off on the President.
It’s easy to call Donald Trump everything but a child of God, and most will applaud and agree, but of course Bow had to take the L of the week when he threatened to pimp out Donald’s wife, Melania Trump.
“Ayo @realDonaldTrump shut your punk ass up talking sh-t about my uncle @SnoopDogg before we pimp your wife and make her work for us,” said Bow Wow
Of course the roasting and the slander ensued. Poor little Bow, when will he learn man?
When Secret Service pulls up on Lil' Bow Wow, I'm turning my head the other way. Yall aren't going to BLM that. Sorry. *shrugs*

(AllHipHop News) Travis Scott is back in promotion mode.
The Texas-bred rapper is getting ready to head out on the “Birds Eye View” tour next month, and he is preparing to drop his next album titled AstroWorld.
“It might be the best music that I made,” stated Scott. “I have two records on the album that are like, man, they are the best. They tore down AstroWorld to build more apartment space. That’s what it’s going to sound like, like taking an amusement park away from kids. We want it back. We want the building back. That’s why I’m doing it. It took the fun out of the city.”
“I didn’t fall, dude, I flew,” responded the “Goosebumps” performer. “I was floating. I don’t fall. Sh-t, nothing happened. Floating is amazing. It’s like getting in a plane. I just flew, man. I’m a magician, like David Blaine. I could never fall.”
Scott recently continued the theme of his #1 album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight with the short film Birds in the Trap.
Parisian filmmaker Fleur Fortune directed the movie which is streaming exclusively on Apple Music.
