Rapper Kelyvn Colt comes out representing London, by way of Germany and Nigeria.
The 22-year-old, who takes inspiration from 2Pac, Kid Cudi and Eminem, dropped out of college to start his own label and prepare for his career as a rapper.
“I wrote the song in my dorm room, after my first year in England,” Kelyvn Colt said. “At the time I couldn’t cover my fees anymore, was alone most of the time or working, hardly having time for music, even though that was
what I came for. So I started pondering about what I had left behind. I missed my home, Germany, my crew and my (now ex) girlfriend especially. I realized that things won’t be the same, even if I gave up now and came back. You may never know if you are trading diamonds for gold.”
Drag-On is back on a new label, Hood Environment. He just dropped two new tracks : a remix to “Panda.”
Drag is apparently in the studio getting a new release ready that is scheduled to drop something this year or next.
Termanology comes correct with Saigon on the new song “We’re Both Wrong.”
The two rappers concoct verses that take issue with the growing tide of police brutality in the United States.
Fortunately, that is just the title of the song, because they made the right decision in selecting Q-Tip to produce the track.
Yo Gotti just dropped a new banger titled “Wait For It.” The song features fellow CMG artist Blac Youngsta.
This could easily be the next anthem Yo Gotti delivers with a catchy hook and a memorable beat that will have the clubs bumpin…
Z-Ro, the Houston rap legend, has an album dropping next week, but the recent acts of police brutality have weighed on him heavily.
Alton Sterling, a 37-year old from Baton Rouge, and Philando Castile, a 32-year old Minneapolis man, were both killed by police this week. Bystanders taped the death of Sterling, which closely resembled an execution by police. Castile was pulled over for a “routine traffic stop” and was shot after he reached for his identification. His girlfriend Diamond Reynolds said in a Facebook live video, “He let the officer know that he had a firearm and he was reaching for his wallet and the officer just shot him in his arm.”
Z-Ro has a lot of opinions on the topic coming out of the Missouri City area of Houston, Texas. He said police are intent on breaking down Black men.
“Every time you turn around, they want you soft. They want you to not put up a fight about nothing. ‘Hey go over there and sit down.’ You put your chest out, they shoot you. Stand up for your rights, they shoot you. Walk by ’em too fast, they shoot you,” Z-Ro told AllHipHop.com. “That’s what it is.”
However, he offered concrete solutions that, if implemented, could change the paradigm between Black American and the police.
“When you are looking to steer clear of the subject, you will just [say], don’t do nothing to get apprehended but the crazy part is, you don’t have to do nothing. But, when you look at it like a survivalist, you come up with stuff like, ‘Lets police our own streets. Lets stop calling 911.’ Unless its a medical emergency or a fire. If you see somebody fighting, man, put your camera phone down. Don’t record that. Go an break it up. If somebody’s arguing, don’t call the police. They gonna definitely shoot the male. You turn around [to the police and say] ‘What? [aggressively].’ You definitely getting tazed. You dead in your coffin, you still getting tazed. Its retarded and you really gotta come up with ‘Police Your Own Area.’ You own neighborhood watch. Say:’We don’t need [police] to roll through here. We’re rolling through here.’”
Z-Ro also stated that violence against the police wasn’t the way to go, as so have suggested.
“If we revolutionize and start the killing [of enemies], then that is gonna promote more killing and that’s going to be less of us. Because, we gotta sneak our weapons” he continued. “But, if we get out there and say, ‘In Mo City (Missouri City), we got this. In Fifth Ward in Houston, us 100 people, we got this. South Park, we got this. If you do that, you come up with your own force, man.”
Brown V. Board of Education formally declared separate public schools were unconstitutional, however Z-Ro suggested African Americans may have to create their own communities to survive the onslaught of police brutality.
“[Remember] how they used to say ‘going back to Africa?,’ you can go back to Africa in a sense by just making a village in your community. Cutting down on a whole lot of that riff raff by actually policing yourself. Not being police. We don’t want to be those. But, for your neighborhood, get out there and go check on Mrs. Williams,” he explained. “You hear something? Go over there and check it out. Get you one dude that can carry and some dudes that can beat some faces in and you over over there and see what it is. That way you can stop a whole lot of BS, but you can also stop a whole lot of senseless killing. You know how they [the police] treat us, man. That’s my solution that I see. I’ve thought of a lot of solutions.”
Lastly, he stated that a community watch could help those that have been systemically locked out of the workforce.
“A lot of people that don’t have nothing to do, now they got something to do. Now they got something to do. That’ll probably give jobs. You aint gotta sit around here We hate the badge,” he concluded.
Z-Ro’s latest offering Drankin’ & Drivin’ drops on July 15 and is available for pre-order now. He also released the Solid EP in January, also available on iTunes. Click here to buy.

It seems like every time an artist gets ready to release new music a website screws up in regards to the announcement and the schedule for releasing information on it. It looks like Amazon has leaked Gucci Mane’s ‘Everybody Looking’ tracklist since Gucci hasn’t made any formal announcement about it. The album will contain 14 songs with features from Young Thug, and Kanye West. If this tracklist is correct, noticeably missing is Drake’s feature on “Back On Road.” The album is set to hit stores on July 22, 2016, and it also features production from Zaytoven, Drumma Boy, and Mike Will Made It. Guwop recorded the entire album in just six days following his release from prison!
Check out the said tracklist below.
(AllHipHop Features) Xavier “Zaytoven” Dotson has stamped his name as one of the most sought after production minds in the industry. His decade-long musical union with Gucci Mane played a significant part in both Atlanta legends’ respective careers exploding.
In May, Gucci returned home after nearly three years behind bars, and the Trap music forbearer immediately reconnected with Zaytoven. The pair banded together with fellow ATL representative Mike Will Made It for Gucci’s forthcoming Everybody Looking album.
Zaytoven’s discography is also set to include a sequel to his 2015 collaborative effort Beast Mode with Future. In addition, Drake, Young Thug, Too $hort, Migos, Juicy J, Ty Dolla $ign, and others have been recording over the signature Zay sound in recent months.
Besides music, Zaytoven has the Birds Of Feather 2 movie coming. The San Francisco raised instrumentalist is continuing to share his knowledge of crafting tracks and maneuvering through the music business with his Producer Camp as well. Attendees have even traveled from around the world in order to take part in the event held at Patchwerk Studios.
I spoke with Zaytoven to get his thoughts on his most recent production work. Read what the gifted guitar, drums, organ, and piano player has to say about teaming with Gucci Mane, Future, and more.
Me and Gucci have been working on his album. He didn’t want to come out and do a mixtape. He wanted to go for the album. I think it’s a good idea. Especially while all the attention is on him right now.
Before he got home, we were making beats for him. I was making beats for his album. I was collaborating with Mike Will on a lot of the beats. That’s what [Gucci] wanted just to give him something new, a different style. I’m glad he’s home. I know we got something special coming on July 22.
He had songs like, “I wrote these just for my album.” At the same time, when you get in the studio and hear the beat, you just want to do something fresh. Half of the songs are songs he came up with right there in the studio.
What is he talking about on this project? Pretty much the same thing. He’s just got a clearer vision. A lot of his songs are well thought out, because he had so much time to write them. But it’s pretty much still the same Gucci Mane.

It’s been something new. It’s been exciting. It’s a new thing for me to collaborate with producers. I’m usually doing my own thing. Most of the time, they’re doing their own thing. But lately you’ll see me collaborating with guys like Mike Will, Metro Boomin, Sonny Digital, or different producers. It’s something refreshing, so I had a real good time [working with Mike Will].
We worked on Rae Sremmurd’s project. I guarantee after the Gucci album comes out a lot of people are going to want to use this collaboration a lot more. The first one we did was 2 Chainz’s “MFN Right” off the ColleGrove project. Now I think it’s the sound that a lot of people are going to want.
This Gucci project is like [Mike Will and I] working on a whole project together. We haven’t sat down and talked about doing a whole project together, but this Gucci project is that to me.
PLOTTING. @mikewillmadeit #tiggy#gucci ???

Beast Mode 16 is what me and Future have been working on. I think that’s something very special. When you listen to Beast Mode 1, to me it’s almost like a work of art. All the tracks we did were real piano driven, real melody driven. So we’re back at that again, but it’s almost times 10 on this one.
We really haven’t put a [release] date on it, but we’re like 95% sure of the songs we want to use already. We got so much material, but we don’t exactly know when we’re going to drop it.
We’re bouncing off of each other. We got so many fresh ideas and new music. He still makes me get chills when he starts recording. He’s definitely got something special going on.

We were at the video shoot. We were working on Gucci’s album, and Drake just came through. We were talking a little bit about working on a project. We were thinking about working on a project with Gucci and Drake.
He said, “I was rapping on one of your beats a couple of days ago.” That kind of sparked our conversation, and we started talking about what we’re going to do in the future.
We got one, maybe two, [Drake features] for Beast Mode 16. One for sure.
Get use to it. Zaytoven X @champagnepapi #justwaitonit #ziggy #drizzy

This was all during the Gucci Mane video shoot. We were shooting the video that actually features Young Thug.
Thug came through, and we actually recorded music during the break of the video shoot. We had a little 30 minute break. We went up to the studio, put a beat on, and Thug started recording.
I was there watching Thug work with Gucci before Thug was big. This was at Gucci’s old studio. The chemistry is definitely still there.

Me and Too $hort are from the same place. We’re from the Bay Area. He was down here in Atlanta, and he said, “Zay, we need to hook up. I’m working on my 30 year anniversary album.” So he came over, and we put some songs together.

Hip-Hop is mounting and offensive against police brutality. T-Dubb drops a lyrical bomb in response to the murder of two Black men, on camera right after a weekend celebrating the nation’s independence. It’s been a busy few weeks for rapper Wiz Khalifa, who recently became locked in a battle with his former record label, Rostrum Records.
Wiz filed a $2 million lawsuit against the label, claiming they mismanaged his career, and Rostrum responded in kind with a $2 million dollar complaint of its own, labeling the rapper an ungrateful artist.
Last night, (July 7), Wiz jetted from Los Angeles to Malaga Spain, for a show tonight at the Weekendbeach Festival.
The rapper has a series of dates throughout Europe from now until July 14.

Remember when Pac and The Outlawz went absolutely crazy on everybody. “Hit ‘Em Up” was the song and it caused all sorts of chaos in Hip-Hop. Some 20 years later, there is a behind the scenes video that takes a look on how it all happened. It clocks in at over an hour, but it is fairly fascinating. Check it out.

(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent is preparing to return to Starz when season 3 of his popular series Power debuts on July 17. As he continues his run on TV, the multi-platinum selling rap artist is still keeping his ear to what’s happening in the music realm as well.
In an interview with The Daily Beast, 50 spoke about the quick success of fellow New York rappers Bobby Shmurda and Desiigner.
Both Brooklyn representatives broke out with high charting singles [Shmurda’s “Hot N-gga” and Desiigner’s “Panda”], but they were unable to follow up that success with another hit so far.
“Bobby had a great record. That song is a great record,” stated 50. “A lot of times when an artist receives an opportunity too fast, like Desiigner and ‘I got broads in Atlanta,’ you haven’t heard another song yet. You see what I’m sayin’? So you get a No. 1 record and you think, well, how do I do this again?”
“[2Pac] almost never stopped playing Bishop after Juice, you know what I’m saying?” said 50. “It’s when that ‘thug life’ energy came out and started to evolve into a persona. He’s way better than people saw him as. He’s way better. That’s an art student right there and thuggin’ is his theme. He was so much more advanced than anyone will ever know.”
Activist David Banner is angry over the murder of Alton Sterling, who was shot five times and killed by the Baton Rouge police on July 6.
“As we all knew that it would, it has happened again,” stated Banner as he opens his treatise “Police & the Black Community: History, Reality & the Rudiments for Change.”
Banner delves into many topics as it relates to the deteriorating relationship between police and the black communities they serve.
Police as Tools of the Wealthy
“In these actions, we clearly see that today’s police, much like their 19th and 20th-century counterparts, still serve as protectors of the wealthy and oppressors of the people.”
The “War on Cops” That Wasn’t
“Let’s just say it outright…statistically speaking, being a cop IS NOT a dangerous occupation. In fact, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, being a cop doesn’t even make the Top 10 of most dangerous jobs in America. Surprisingly, it’s more dangerous being a farmer, a garbage collector or a fisherman than it is being a cop! But let’s look deeper into police fatalities that do actually occur. Those numbers may also be surprising.”
Law Enforcement’s “War on Blacks”
“…even if Black criminality had risen (instead of drastically dropping), and even if the “War on Cops” myth were true, that STILL doesn’t justify the disproportionate number of Blacks being killed by cops. Why? Because as we’ve come to find out, the group most responsible for murdering cops is white males.”
Law Enforcement: Return to Its Foundation
In 1829, Sir Robert Peel created the London Metropolitan Police, widely viewed as the world’s first modern police department. As the “father” of modern policing, Peel was adamant that a properly functioning police force must be deemed credible and legitimate in the eyes of the public it served. To this end, he developed nine principles that, if followed, would foster the respect and dignity sought by the community and the police alike.
“Simply returning to these foundational principles would go a long way in addressing and correcting many of the missteps that police make when dealing with Black people. And, by adhering to these principles, principles that mandate recognition and respect, police may very well engender a public trust in them that the Black community has never had.”
Black Community: Police Our Own Communities
“Policing our own communities can take various forms. One approach is for citizens to simply take their communities back…and by ‘policing’ I’m referring to a comprehensive approach to better the conditions of our environments.”
(AllHipHop News) Queens-bred rapper Grafh drops a gritty new visual for his summer single “Trap Phone Ringin,” produced by Freeze On Da Beat, off of his current project Painkillers Reloaded.
The new video, directed by MaxxWayne and Nyjee Evans, shows a glimpse of the dark side of the “trap” lifestyle as portrayed by the East Coast artist.
“The world is numb. You are distracted and detached from everything all day. You’re programmed not to feel, to never truly experience anything. Painkillers normally numb the pain, but you’re already numb. I just want you to take this and feel again,” Grafh explained to AllHipHop.com.
His business partner Maxx Wayne turned that idea into the concept for his new video “Trap Phone Ringin.”
We suggest you read the plot before looking at the video:
In order to restore the feeling in his city, the scientist in the video creates a pill out of a chemical potion and Grafh’s blood. Grafh and MaxxWayne then distribute the gold pills to their squad to hit the streets with. The gold pills are a reflection of the music and the feeling that’s missing from the game.
“We’re just here to restore the feeling again,” Grafh says. Pain Killers: Reloaded is out now.
Grafh just came off of The Layers tour with Royce Da 5’9 and is now focused on a new tape with his Team Bang Dope Gang squad.

(AllHipHop News) Atlanta emcee Killer Mike is one of the most outspoken rap stars on the subject of police brutality and racial injustice. In recent years, the Run The Jewels member has appeared on CNN, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and The Tavis Smiley Show to discuss issues such as systemic racism.
In the wake of the police shooting that left 37-year-old Alton Sterling dead, Mike has turned his attention to the Democratic Party’s lack of response to the continuously growing number of African-Americans killed by law enforcement.
Mike attended a town hall meeting that was scheduled to discuss the Democrats’ national platform. The Bernie Sanders supporter used the opportunity to chastise the party for not doing more to help African-American voters, including providing better educational/vocational opportunities and confronting police violence.
“African-Americans have given a lot to the Democratic Party,” said Mike. “Blood, sweat and tears, and all too often nothing is given back but a pat on the back. The Democratic Party has abandoned African-American men.”
Mike’s comments also included a complaint often heard from many activists and concerned citizens – Why aren’t more “good” police officers speaking out against the “bad” police officers?
“You execute a human being who is a citizen of this country you should be prosecuted. Why isn’t the hell a police officer saying this cop is wrong?” Mike asked.
Video of Hot 97 radio personality Peter Rosenberg yelling at a cop that called into the station went viral this week. Rosenberg also took issue with police refusing to admit that some of their fellow officers do not do their jobs well.

(AllHipHop News) Reports of police brutality and racial injustice have become far too commonplace in the America. Just this week, a Baton Rouge cop killed Alton Sterling as the 37-year-old father of five was pinned to the ground.
The case has drawn widespread criticism of the officers’ conduct, and Louisiana Governor John Bel Edward has called on the U.S. Justice Department to open a civil rights investigation into the shooting.
Just days before Sterling’s tragic death by a police officer, New York rapper Kemba released the video for “The New Black Theory.”
The nearly 4 minute clip addresses the influence of the news media, the idea of respectability politics, and the numerous examples of African-Americans losing their lives at the hands of cops.
“The video is about how the news affects how people see us and how we see ourselves, in juxtaposition with how we’re actually being treated,” Kemba (formerly known as YC the Cynic) tells AllHipHop.com. “We get messages everyday from the news criticizing how we dress, speak and behave, but being more respectable often means being more European, and even that doesn’t stop us from being killed by police.”
The Frank Drake-produced track off the forthcoming Negus album incorporates a sample from the 2Pac classic “Dear Mama.” The song’s visuals features Geraldo Rivera’s controversial comments about how the hoodie worn by Trayvon Martin was partly to blame for him being killed by George Zimmerman in 2012.
Since Martin’s death, the names of numerous other African-Americans citizens have unfortunately become hashtags on social media after they each lost their lives because of encounters with law enforcement.
As a result, the Black Lives Matter movement has fought to achieve justice for Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, Walter Scott, Sandra Bland, Freddie Gray, Philando Castile, and other victims of police violence.
Alton Sterling has now been added to that list of individuals. Kemba’s “The New Black Theory” was created prior to the Sterling shooting, but the message of the record still resonates with the latest tragic story.
“The video relates to Alton Sterling at the very core, because he was wrongly and fatally brutalized by the police,” says the 25-year-old Bronx emcee.
Kemba’s Negus is scheduled for release via all digital platforms on July 22.
Watch the video for “The New Black Theory” below.

After the recent killing of Alton Sterling by a Baton Rouge officer, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl creator Issa Rae started a GoFundMe page to seek donations for the victim’s family.
Over $275,000 has been raised in just 17 hours. All the funds go to Sterling’s five surviving children.

It looks like T.I. has a serious case on his hands as he is facing a lawsuit from former employees of his Scales 925 restaurant in Atlanta, GA.
According to the AJC, The plaintiffs have quit due to the restaurant management refusing to give them their final paychecks! The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court in Atlanta against T.I. and his business partner Charles Hughes, as well as the restaurant management group.
The former employees claim that Hughes used Scales LLC to create bank accounts for payroll. However, he would allegedly deposit money from Scales into his personal account causing payroll checks to bounce.
The plaintiffs are also claiming that they would work overtime but were never paid for it. Uh oh Tip! We hope he is able to get this sorted out!
(AllHipHop News) Another day, another death at the hands of a police officer. As a large part of the nation is still in pain over the shooting of Alton Sterling, reports are now circulating of yet another African-American man being killed by a cop.
According to the Washington Post, Philando Castile died at a Minneapolis hospital on Wednesday. The 32-year-old victim was reportedly reaching for his wallet during a traffic stop in Falcon Heights when the officer fired into the vehicle.
Sterling’s girlfriend, Lavish Reynolds, began filming the situation moments after the driver was shot. She broadcast the aftermath live on Facebook.
“F-ck!” yelled the officer. “I told him not to reach for it.”
Reynolds responded, “You told him to get his i.d. sir, and his driver’s license. Oh my god, please don’t tell me he’s dead.”
Another video captured by a bystander after the shooting has made its way online as well.
The St. Anthony Police Department has confirmed Castile’s death, but officials did not identify the officer involved in the shooting. However, Reynolds suggested the cop was Asian.
It appears Reynolds’ daughter was present at the scene at the time of the shooting. The little girl can be heard saying, “It’s okay, Mommy. It’s okay. I’m right here with you.”
Members of the Hip Hop community have addressed the Philando Castile shooting on social media.
