Bobby Shmurda's Bail Is Denied For The Seventh Time

(AllHipHop News) Judge Abraham Clott, who is currently presiding over Bobby Shmurda’s case, has again denied the request for a bail modification. Today (Jan. 19), the New York City judge declined to reduce the bail amount from $2 M. The “Hot Boys” rapper faces charges stemming from reckless endangerment, conspiracy to commit murder, and weapons possession.

Legal counsel for the Brooklyn rapper maintains that the current bond is based on an exaggerated amount. In the past, it was proposed that Bobby’s net financial worth was around $20 M. Alex Spiro, the lawyer acting on behalf of Shmurda asserts that his client’s actual assets come closer to that of $427,000, this according to TMZ.

With this figure in mind, Spiro believes that a reasonable bond amount would range from 50,000 – $100,000. Although Bobby’s bond has been denied seven previous times Spiro is reportedly still dedicated to getting it lowered. The 21 year-old Shmurda is set to go back to court on Feb. 22.

Future Denies Being A Drug Addict

Photo via Future’s Instagram

Rappers lie about a lot and oftentimes they fake lifestyles. Future now seems to open up about doing the same. Future had a pretty amazing year in 2015 with No. 1 albums, his ‘Dirty Sprite 2 Mixtape’, his collaborative effort with Drake, ‘What A Time To Be Alive,’ and more. One can’t help but to notice that in Future’s lyrics, he often talks about being drugged out. In a recent interview with Clique, Future wanted to clear up a few things.

“I’m not like super drugged out or a drug addict. My music may portray a certain kind of image and I know it’s some people that might be super drugged out and they listen to the music like, ‘Ay thank you, you speaking for me’ and then some people that’s no that feel like, Man I don’t have to do drugs, I can listen to Future and feel like I’m on something’ and don’t have to try. I don’t do it for you to really have to live that type of life.”

When asked why he would portray such a persona, Future replied saying,

“It’s a catch.”

A little bit irresponsible or nah? What are your thoughts?

“I like to take my own advice,” he said before suggesting the powerful notion of “dropping expectations.” The Brooklyn lyricist would then challenge people to foster an attitude of “acceptance” rather than expectations. Next the 1999 MC would speak on the importance of cultivating a positive perspective. “I’m just trying to be happy. I’m just trying to be positive at all times,” he said.

After divulging that his mother has been his greatest role model, Joey Bada$$ would then tackle the topic of religion. These sage words from his mother have resounded within the emerging entertainer’s life, “We don’t have a religion, but we believe in God.”

Man Threatens To Kill Beyonce Online

There are some very sick people in the world, and most of them are active on social media. An Instagram user, @Aviante4921, has been reported to authorities for threatening to murder Beyonce on Instagram. The user has since deleted their social media account, but we are sure authorities will be able to track them down. The person made the threat in the comment section of Beyonce’s mother Tina Lawson’s Instagram account. The comment read,

“I’m going to assassinate your daughter master plan I could only imagine what that blood smells like that movie Carmen she played in is coming back to hunt her. Yeah n*gga bottom lip in mouth face evil as f*ck.”

A fan commented on Lawson’s page saying they reported the individual to the authorities. Tina replied saying,

“Thank you, Jfintel. I just reported him to the authorities as well they are on it as he just threatened murder and sexual assault in a public forum and is obviously a sick cowardly uneducated racist pervert.”

It has been reported that the threat and individual are being investigated by the FBI.

Chris Rivers (Big Pun's Son) Joins Rite Hook On "The Motions"

“The Motions” is a standout track from Rite Hook featuring Hip-Hop incarnate Chris Rivers (Big Pun’s son) who helps as Rite Hook continues to prep his next full-length project Modify. The Boston emcee delivers an anthem for anyone tired of the bullsh*t and verbal garbage that can too often weigh us down. This track is fueled by a piano-laced slapper courtesy of The Arcitype, who also resides in Boston and has worked with the likes of Termanology, Slaine, Reks and more.
Chris River’s verse on this song would make his namesake proud as he drops blistering rhymes about rising above the snakes and staying true to ourself and your art.

Fetty Wap is still having women problems. Between having unprotected sex with everyone, 1-2 new babies on the way, and two girlfriends, Fetty has his hands full! Fetty Wap has been in a relationship with Alexis Sky for a little while now, but a few months ago his alleged “day one” girl popped up on social media. Fetty recently bought his “day 1” Yaya @brainz_b4_beauty a new car and it didn’t go well with Alexis Sky. Fetty took to Instagram to express his love for both women as he said,

“I no it ain’t right in y’all eyes, but I love two different personalities & I’m living my life and getting this money so f*ck how ya feel. #Zoovie #RichAnHappy.”

Fetty is not here for monogamy! Fetty Wap has also been having issues with his baby mama Love & Hip Hop’s Masika. Their issues have spilled onto social media. Masika referred to Fetty as “dirty d*ck,” and Fetty told her she never asked him to bring a condom or asked if he had one so he asked what does that make her? If Fetty doesn’t get it together, he is going to go broke and have a few diseases.

Photo via Kevin’s Instagram

A former manager of Kevin Gates, claims the rapper is “fake” when it comes to acknowledging who really put him on. His former manager @DJyaboyearl took to Instagram to blast Kevin and inform the masses that he supported Gates financially and promoted his music long before he made it big.

Earl posted,

“…..Then you can get interviews and say nobody put you on and how u made it by urself because u always had money from selling kilos…SMH…#TheFakeWontWin, you can make it too unsigned artists u just have to finesse alotta folks to help u for free so I can change on em and diss em when the money comes!!! RZA Talks Ol' Dirty Bastard Biopic: "Wheels Are In Motion"

(AllHipHop News) Today (Jan. 19), the Wu-Tang’s RZA delivered news on the anticipated Ol’ Dirty Bastard biopic. Given that Bobby Digital and ODB are actual cousins, RZA has great insight to lend to the project. In a candid interview, the artistic savant explained, “”I think it’s a great idea, and there has been talk about it. There are a few wheels in motion with one done by our first cousin Rayshawn; he was the young guy there watching everything that happened,” reported Rolling Stone magazine.

Recently,  the iconic beatsmith has experience criticism concerning his thoughts on the chosen attire of young black men, but he had nothing but good things to say about the pending ODB biopic’s script. “Him and  ODB’s wife have been talking and he has a pretty interesting script,” said RZA before he added, “I just saw a 12-minute teaser that he shot about a year ago and it felt pretty f###### cool. I watched it and was like, ‘Wow, you may have something here.’ He has the best thing that I’ve seen so far.”

As of yet, specific details pertaining to casting and to production have not been publicly shared. With the impact and acclaim of the N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton, The RZArector believes that the public would welcome a film about ODB’s life. ““Straight Outta Compton showed that hip-hop is a marketplace in cinema. I always believed that the art we was creating was audio-visual, and it was headed towards visual-audio.”

He then expressed, “And that’s why you see me in this world — my own heart drove me here — and I’m glad that a movie like that breaks out and does such numbers that it’s almost undeniable. It showed that with the proper team and marketing, many of us out here who grew up on this music would love to see the inside makings of those stories.”

How would the public respond to an ODB biopic?

Rick Ross Disses Lil Wayne & Baby: They Kiss And They Made Up?

Today (Jan. 19), a Snapchat video of Rick Ross has surface where he seemingly throws shots at a recently reconciled Lil Wayne and Baby. Last year, “The Boss” man told The Breakfast Club about his contempt towards Birdman.

“I’m a real player,” raps Rozay. He soon sends this not so subliminal shot and says, “Them n****s kiss and they made up.”

Would it be too much to ask of Hip-Hop’s MC to visit a booth and lay down an actual diss track? Guess that doesn’t always go too well for MMG artists…

Hit-Boy Gets Holy On "Divine Guidance"

It’s been a while since we heard from Hit-Boy, but it’s nice getting back to the music with him on this, new joint “Divine Guidance.” It’s a “Mama I made it” type song and we can’t get enough of how Hit-Boy arranged this song. This is a somber record, but theres solace in the sadness as Hit-Boy has found career success over the past few years.

Ice Cube Praises Kendrick Lamar & Discusses Not Playing The "Hollywood Game" (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Rapper, actor, and film producer Ice Cube recently sat down with radio personality Angie Martinez. During the interview, the star of Ride Along 2 spoke about another West Coast Hip Hop representative – Kendrick Lamar.

[ALSO READ: Kendrick Lamar To Receive The Key To The City Of Compton]

Martinez informed her guest that Kendrick referred to Cube’s iconic rap group N.W.A. as “the gatekeepers.” Cube replied by offering high praise to the Grammy winning emcee.

“That’s a cool name. I feel that,” said Cube about K. Dot’s description. “And Kendrick is a new gatekeeper. He’s keeping the tradition alive.”

The conversation then shifted to the lack of Oscar nominations for the blockbuster N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton. Many observers were critical of the Academy for snubbing the movie in the Best Picture category as well as all of the acting categories. Cube was asked if refusing to play the “Hollywood game” affected Straight Outta Compton not receiving more recognition from the film industry.

“I do what I’m supposed to do to promote the project. I ain’t gonna kiss no ass for nothing,” stated Cube. “Maybe that is the problem, or maybe we should have put a slave in Straight Outta Compton. I think that’s where we messed up.”

Cube was touching on another area of criticism often aimed at the Academy Awards. Many of the recent Oscar-winning films and acting performances were only awarded for African-Americans playing slaves, servants, or deeply flawed characters.

12 Years a Slave won Best Picture in 2013, and Lupita Nyong’o won the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for playing a slave in the Steve McQueen directed motion picture. Other recent winners in that category include Octavia Spencer as a maid in The Help (2011) and Mo’Nique as an abusive mother in Precious (2009). The respective writers of Precious (Geoffrey Fletcher) and 12 Years a Slave (John Ridley) are the only African-Americans to win an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.

“It’s both,” answered Cube when asked if he felt being ignored by the Oscars was about race or the lack of respect for Hip Hop. “The thing about it is that does not define us. That award is cool – it’s cool to be recognized – but people recognized this movie back in August when it did $200 million at the box office.”

The Game Comments On Current "Social Media" Rap Feuds Versus Classic Lyrical Rap Battles

(AllHipHop News) Los Angeles emcee The Game has had his fair share of conflicts with other rappers during his career. Perhaps his most famous beef was the verbal sparring with his former musical partner 50 Cent.

As 50 has turned to using his social media platforms as a weapon in his most recent feuds – including his back-and-forth with Meek Mill, Game decided to offer his thoughts on the current state of high-profile battles in today’s Hip Hop culture.
