That’s James Kirkland beating up Glen Tapia last weekend. But James Kirkland is one of the fighters in 50 Cent’s promotional stable. You know 50 is a boxing promoter too. So, when Kirkland beat down Tapia 50 Cent had something to say and Glen didn’t like it.
He said he would beat 50 up.
Its cool, I’m 23 with a looong way to go and as for the @50cent s###, I’ll whoop his ass so we good… http://t.co/uMsx4iUj9m

We’ve not been able to determine what 50 said about him to set him off like that. What’s good is that the “Jersey Boy” Tapia didn’t suffer any permanent injury from the beating. He went to the hospital and they thought he was half brain dead or something.

In an interview with PosseTV.com, Kidd was asked about Roc Nation’s Jay Electronica and whether he every came across the “Exhibit C” emcee while in New Orleans. Kidd Kidd responded by saying:
Real n***a s**t. I keep it 100. I don’t know dude. I never seen him. When I heard about dude he was on a song with Talib Kweli. I was like damn n***a say he from New Orleans. He from New Orleans? Where in New Orleans? N***a was like he from uptown. I’m the type of n***a to do research on n***as. Especially if you talking about you from New Orleans. So I asked around. Don’t nobody know dude. Not saying he a fake n***a, I don’t know him to say that about him, but you asked me about him in New Orleans, I don’t know him from New Orleans.
Jay Electronica has stated that he is originally from New Orleans’ Magnolia Projects, and later moved to New York City, Philadelphia, and other cities. In a 2010 interview with MTV, Electronica spoke about his New Orleans heritage and his embarrassment about being a southern rapper at one point in his career.
“In my earlier years from when I first left home, I was embarrassed being from the South,” said Jay. “Now I’m at a place where I understand where I’m from. I understand my culture and I’m more proud to be from there than associate with somewhere else.”
He goes on to say, “I’m from New Orleans and there’s a certain type of music … It’s a part of me; I grew up with bounce music. It’s call-and-response, it’s trance, it’s tribal, it’s communal, it’s African.”

(AllHipHop News) Legendary football player Jim Brown stopped by The Arsenio Hall Show for an interview, and the former Cleveland Browns running back had some interesting things to say about NBA superstar Kobe Bryant.
“He threw Shaq under the bus,” said Brown referring to the well-documented riff between Bryant and former teammate Shaquille O’Neal. “And he is somewhat confused about culture, because he was brought up in another country so he doesn’t quite fit what’s happening in America.”
After acknowledging Kobe’s exceptional athleticism, the Football Hall of Famer and actor then goes on to suggest that if he had to recruit current Black athletes for a social activism campaign today, Bryant would not be one of the pro sports stars he would reach out to.
“In the days when we had a summit and called the top Black athletes together to talk to Muhammad Ali about his status with the armed forces, there were some athletes we didn’t call,” said Brown. “If I had to call that summit all over there’d be some athletes I wouldn’t call. Kobe would be one of them.”

DAMN. This is where we at now, huh? I’m hearing that Kevin Hart and Ne-Yo have some issues, but something that’s now becoming commonplace in America. EXES, BABY MOMMAS, AND EVEN JUMP OFFS are getting shows based on the people they dated! The latest is that there is a new show in the making that will follow the ATL exploits of Kevin Hart and Ne-Yo’s ex-loves. Kevin Hart was married previously and he’s done comedy skits about it so…he may be fair game. Ne-Yo’s ex girlfriend is still about the Atlanta area and she’s a banger! So, they are going to be on a new show that’s coming out soon.
Fireworks are certain to ensue.
I’m hoping and praying that Obama didn’t do this at the damn funeral of former South African president and revolutionary Nelson Mandela. I peeped over at http://smokingsection.uproxx.com and they are saying that the president of the United States was taking selfless at the services. He and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning Schmidt and Prime Minister David Cameron thought it was a good idea to do this on some power trio ish.

(AllHipHop News) In the latest installment of their conversation with DJ Vlad, Star and Lord Jamar discuss what they call the “gay agenda,” segments of Hip Hop no longer representing the “alpha male,” and how members of the Native Tongues collective paved the way for current rap trends.
[ALSO READ: Lord Jamar Says Chicago Needs More Voices To Counteract Chief Keef]
“Don’t promote the gay agenda as if it has more merit than the f**king Black Holocaust,” said Star. “I have no problems with gays. God bless you, but just remember the people that got you to this point were hosed, beaten, lynched, castrated, and set a blaze. Nothing, with the exception of the Jewish Holocaust, surpasses the Black struggle.”
“This Hip Hop s**t was made by masculine Black and Latino males. This is the alpha male s**t,” adds Jamar. “Not even the beta male, who they’re pushing at us now. Your Drakes, and your f**king Kendrick Lamars and all these softer type of dudes.”
According to Jamar, Drake would not have been as successful if he had started his career in the 1980’s and 1990’s. He acknowledges Drake can rap, but his tendency to sing would not have been appealing to Hip Hop fans of the era.
The conversation then turns to some of the Hip Hop acts from that time that did break out like De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest. Jamar contends that it was the music from those 80’s/90’s rap groups that paved the way for artists like Drake.
“That was an introduction to a more a nicer- that pulled a lot more white people in,” says Jamar. “They were the forefathers for a lot of these rappers now.”
When Vlad specifically asked if De La Soul were the forefathers to Drake, both Jamar and Star answered yes. “A Tribe Called Quest too,” said Jamar.

So, folks are still doing the blame a Black guy thing.
Ashley Depew, a 23-year-old St. Louis woman, told police she was hit in the face by “black thugs,” according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch. She said a group of young black men approached her while she was standing outside of a bar and began beating her. She claimed the men scattered leaving her eye swollen shut.
Upon further investigation police uncovered that no one in the bar could recall the incident and Depew’s story was generally not adding up. As it turned out, Depe’s boyfriend, Justin Simms, punched her in the face and she lied to keep him from getting arrested.
Depew and her boyfriend were arrested for making a false report to the police but there’s no word yet on whether charges will be filed.
They should get some kind of disciplinary action. Her selfish lie could have gotten innocent men, who are already racially profiled in excess, arrested or possibly even killed.
Way to go champ.
A man died after getting stuck inside a Salvation Army Clothing donation box in New Jersey, according to police. Authorities say they got a call about a man hanging from one of the collection boxes and were able to dismantle the door to free the man, who was identified as 50-year-old Joseph Hanshaw. However, emergency crews were unable to revive him.
Officials believe Hanshaw was either trying to find warm clothing or spend the night in the box and describe his death as an unfortunate, tragic accident.
No jokes here. This really is a sad way to go.
AW MAN!
I don’t know what happened exactly, but something has gone awry with the deal with Roc Nation and the big homey Nipsey Hussel!! It seems that when I posted the post last time, there was no signature on a dotted line. I was initially told that the ink was dry. For whatever reason, there was some break down in this deal and Nipsey ain’t headed over to the Roc – YET. At least, this is what I am being told. I don’t know anything else, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there will be a big event later down the line to formally announce it. Stay tuned.

(AllHipHop Features) Rapper and actor Armando Cadogan Jr. takes great pride in carrying the flag for his parent’s native country. The Brooklyn born performer embraces his heritage so much that he adopted the rap name Panama as the ultimate representation of the Central American nation. With the release of his latest mixtape The Panama Canal, Cadogan wants to shine a light on his people and provide them with an authentic voice in Hip Hop culture.
Panama is now focusing on his rap career, but the University of Maryland Baltimore County graduate’s first major break in the entertainment business came as an actor on HBO’s classic crime drama The Wire. Panama’s turn as the tormentor of fan favorite Reginald “Bubbles” Cousins made his character one of the most hated in the run of the series. That hate is now transforming into love as the bilingual, dual threat builds an international fan base for his musical progression.
AllHipHop spoke with Panama Cadogan to ask the WOPA Family leader about what led him to Hip Hop, how he got hired for The Wire, and his personal definition of success in “5 & Done.”
What lead you to first want to pursue a career in Hip Hop?
It was a combination of a few things. One of the main motivational tools that led me to pursue Hip Hop was the storyline of my country. Reggaeton originated in Panama. Puerto Ricans would come over to the country, linked up with Panamanian artists, take the sound back to Puerto Rico, and then have that market place from Puerto Rico to the United States. Them having a platform to come to America without a visa or passport and debut the sound to the masses and not really bring it back to the original source, that was the light to the fire. Because in my country it’s hard for us to get visas or passports to come to America to showcase the same talent, even on a more skillful level.
I’m an American born citizen but came up under a cultural household all Panamanian. Everything in my house is Spanish. Because I’m being showcased on MTV, the blogs, and social media I have a platform now to give my country a voice. Even though I don’t rap in Spanish, because I carry the name, pump the flag, put images out there, and I speak highly of my people, my country’s receptive and supportive of my music back home. That goes to show they’re looking for a voice in the urban market.
My best friend Shawn Smith is definitely one of the guys that introduced me to the mixtape game. His passion ran through me. He understood and respected where I come from, and wanted me to speak on that. He wanted me to hold that Spanish kid throne, that Panama throne. I have to reward the story of my country, my upbringing, and my best friend Shawn which steered me into getting into Hip Hop.
How did you land your role on The Wire?
It came from working hard and networking my a** off. Before The Wire, I did commercials, plays, and background work. Every time I did anything regarding acting, I made sure I connected with the right people.
Throughout my process I was hearing about a lady named Linda Townsend. I was hearing about Pat Moran. I was hearing about the certain companies that really controlled the DMV. I consider myself a special breed, a black man that you would never know I’m bilingual. That’s how I would pitch myself. That led me to my manager Linda Townsend. She literally controls the DMV. Pat Moran Casting casts all the big shows that come out of Baltimore/D.C. I’m now repped by the biggest agent Linda Towsend. The Wire came down at that same time. It was like perfect timing. I then auditioned for Pat Moran. She enjoyed my performance and told me to come back the following day. The next day I performed in front of Ed Burns and David Simon who are the producers and writers of the show. Two hours later they called my father and told me that they wanted me for season one.
Your character is one of the characters people really hated the most.
I love it though. I love when people meet me and they go, “he’s a cool guy.” Then when I tell them I was on The Wire, and I was that character you see the change in their personality like “Oh my God. I hated you.” It’s love though. It’s like basically saying I loved your performance, but I hated you on that show. I can only respect that.
The track “Come As You Are” on your mixtape samples Nirvana. We all know what happened to Kurt Cobain as far as what the fame did to him. As your buzz continues to grow how do you manage to keep yourself grounded?
Honestly, at the end of the day I’m not a fame w####. I want people to respect me for my craft. If I become popular from it, I’m cool with that. But fame, like I can’t walk into the store because cameras are out crazy, I’m not looking for that type of attention. I do it for a different purpose. I carry a name that’s bigger than me.
I’m doing it for close to 2 million people in my country who don’t even know I’m doing it for them right now. I’m not even performing the same language for them to even know I’m doing it for them. My job is stay loyal and humble, not only to them, but to myself. I’ve traveled so much around the world that my appreciation for life and people is at an all-time high. It’s probably going to be even higher once things continue to grow. I am who I am. We’re all equal.
That’s how I remain humble. I’m not in it for the fame. I’m here to progress on this personal journey and help others as I continue to move on my own merits. As long as I have that mentality that I want to help and unite through my story, I’m going to be fine.
How would you define success for yourself?
I’m already successful. The experiences I have encountered. The things that I’ve seen. The people that I’ve met. The conversations that I have had. I’m successful in my own right.
The mixtape The Panama Canal was an appetizer. The next project is very detailed. It has a little more thought, a little more detail. It’s more lyrical. There’s more storytelling. I get what the tastemakers and socializers want, but it has to come from a personal space. It has to come from the heart; what I think is right. It’s not me following no Waka Flocka lead or no T-Pain lead or no Kendrick Lamar. It’s just Panama. It’s just yes you like him or no you don’t. And it’s all love.
