EXCLUSIVE: Loaded Lux Speaks On Math Hoffa/Serius Jones Fight + Lupe Shout Out For 1st Time

(AllHipHop News) Last night, The nominees and honorees at the 2013 Global Spin Awards were announced by a panel which included Sway Calloway, Grandmaster Flash, Def Jam Executive Vice President Shawn “Pecas” Costner and DJ Drama.

Loaded Lux was in attendance and spoke EXCLUSIVELY to AllHipHop about his connection to the DJ culture, the recent fight at SMACK/URL’s Summer Madness 3 and Lupe Fiasco calling him one of the greatest rappers alive.

AllHipHop: The Global Spin Awards is the first award show for the DJ’s. What is your connection to the DJ culture?

Loaded Lux: Well you got to know at this point we started with the MC rocking the crowd. But between an MC and the DJ it was a one-two just in terms of moving and keeping the people involved. The MC is the master of ceremonies, but the DJ, being that vessel to the people right now, is everything, The DJ is still a very significant and essential piece to the game. Without the DJ, you won’t rock the crowd. Right now the DJ has the pulse of the people.

Recently you were very critical about Smack/URL’s Summer Madness 3. As you know there was a physical altercation between Math Hoffa and Serius Jones. What is your reaction to that and how do you feel about battle rap getting physical? It does get pretty aggressive.

Yeah it does, but it’s more mental than physical but at the same time we cant build and destroy. These things happen. There’s a lot of testosterone in battle rap and sometimes it boils over. But the main thing is that the consumer, the critic and all audiences need to keep in mind that this culture needs to keep building. We always trying to do things in a productive manner to keep the culture. So we cant always glorify elements that seep over into the culture.

Lupe recently released a song “Peace of Paper/Cup of Jayzus” and said ‘Me and Lux got the same points, the greatest rappers are tied’. Jay Z also tweet out ‘you gon get this work’ after your epic battle with Calicoe on Summer Madness 2. How do you feel to get recognized by MC’s of that caliber.

Overwhelming. Inexplicable. I cant even give you anything to equate to what that is. I’m just honoered and that was fuel to the fire. Also a breadcrumb to let me know to keep going and doing what matters.

WTF News: Man Charged With DUI While 'Driving' Lawn Mower

This is actually a WTF and a fail.

Thomas Marrone, 55, was charged with driving drunk while riding a lawn mower down the street. The Pennsylvania man was driving the mower along the road at approximately 1:30 a.m. before being stopped y police.

Cops say Marrone wreaked of alcohol and had an open can of Coors Light beer in the mower’s storage compartment, reports AP.  Marrone said he was driving to his home, 6.4 miles away. He faces a preliminary hearing Tuesday on charges including driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.

Hold up, his license was suspended too?

So, most likely he thought that riding a lawn mower was the way around his license situation instead of just calling a friend or a cab. Not only that but he’s getting charged for “driving” under the influence but the vehicle was a lawn mower! Shouldn’t there be some special charge for this? Luckily he was on the road during a time when there probably weren’t many cars out but still…imagine how slow that thing was going and what that could have done to traffic.

There’s way too much wrong with this case.

Breeding Ground Pick: League Of Extraordinary G'z [#BGA] "Intercourse"

Austin, Texas-based rap crew League Of Extraordinary Gz are a rap group rooted in the tradition of groups like Public Enemy and Dead Prez, unafraid to tackle hot-button topics both political and socially minded, while still having fun. The group’s latest single, “Intercourse,” is an example of the latter as LOEGz teams with Dallas rapper Slim Gravy, of the group A.Dd+, and lets loose over hazy track. League Of Extraordinary Gz will release their new album, #LeagueShit, on October 15th. The album features Dead Prez, Bavu Blakes, and more.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Kim Kardashian Will Take North West on Tour With Kanye?

Word is that Kim Kardashian plans to take her new daughter, North,  along when Kanye West embarks on The Yeezus Tour. Life on the road can get tough, so Kim will only travel to select cities and fans shouldn’t get their hopes up about actually getting a glimpse of the infant.

Via RadarOnline:

“Nori will be back at the hotel. The new parents don’t want her to be exposed to a lot of people, and random strangers. Kim thinks she and the baby will remain with Kanye throughout the North American leg, but life on the road is going to get very old, very fast,” an insider told Radar.

It’s going to be hard keeping the baby on a schedule so, good luck. I bet it was Kanye’s idea since he probably doesn’t want to be away from his new baby girl too much.

The tour kicks off on October 19, in Seattle.
