Hip-Hop Rumors: BenZino Betrays Stevie J! Admits To Sleeping With Joseline!

DAMN! Everybody knows that Joseline is the permanent “spare tire” of Stevie J! (I just found out a spare tire is a mistress.) Anyway, Benzino said admitted to smashing Joseline Hernandez on his new song “Animal.” He’s rapping in a Southern style now, but here we go. Anyway, that’s about all there is to that. I don’t watch “Love and Hip-Hop: Atlanta” so I don’t know if Stevie and Zino are beefing or whatever. i know they used to be very cool and have done significant music together.

You can listen to the song if you want. This song apparently disses Stevie J, Joseline and Karli Redd, his ex.

Oh…I just watch some and he said he’s got a sex tape with Karli Redd! God help us…please don’t let to get released.

Zino got the last laugh!

Hip-Hop Rumors: J. Cole Dares Challenge Kanye West?

OHHHH…J. Cole is feeling himself these days! Back in the day, it was a big deal to release your album on the same day as a major star. These days, not so much. But, J. Cole took a page out of the book of some other artists and has moved his album UP to the same day as Kanye West’s Yeezus.

People RT’d the S**T out of this!

Peep this:

Here is the album art. Very Kanye-esque.

Hip-Hop Rumors: When The Heck Is Boosie Coming Home?

Well, Boosie is NOT coming home this month (MAY) as my previous source told me. I am told from somebody that says they are related to him that Boo will be coming him sometime this summer, June or July. There have been conflicting rumors and reports as to when Boosie is coming home. Some of them are as far as 2014, even though he’s been found not guilty of murder.

On the music side, it will be interesting to see who Boosie aligns himself with. I haven’t heard a lot on that front. What is known is that Boosie has written about 500 new songs. He’s on par with Pac with all these songs!

But, will people support? I’m not a fan but I am interested in what he has to say at this point.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Jay-Z Destroys Pregnancy Rumors!

Beyonce slightly did it, but Jay-Z has confirmed that Beyonce is not pregnant at all. Well, it seems like Ebro of Hot 97 is getting his way all the way in as a media man, because he’s the one that shot down the rumor. Ebro hit up Jay and Jay replied, “It’s not true. The news is worse than blogs.”

Well, he has a point. I write crap called rumors, but a lot of new sites “confirmed” that Beyonce and Jay were pregnant, namely E!. They are a credible place where you should feel conformable running a credible story. WELL, they got it wrong. Hopefully, Jay-Z and them will shoot me and email the next time. I could have knocked this out over the weekend!

“I don’t surf the ‘net, I never been on Myspace.”-Jay-Z

Shawn Carter has no time for two things: rumors and interviews. On Hot 97’s The Realness, Ebro Darden stated Jay-Z denied that Beyonce was pregnant with the couple’s second child after Ebro attempted to get his Godfather on and congratulate the upcoming bundle of joy via email.

Keeping it concise and direct, Hov quipped “The news is worst than blogs”.

Exclusive: Chris Webby Talks New Music, Prescription Drug Use and Eminem

(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop artist Chris Webby took a minute to speak with AllHipHop in between recording his upcoming EP and debut album. He touched on a variety of subjects including his upcoming projects, use of prescription drugs, Eminem and him representing Connecticut.

“Coming from Connecticut, the upper East Coast its very lyrical. Everybody has to have punchlines. You’ve got to have bars. There’s a lot of people rapping out there but as a whole Connecticut has never been on the map or the Hip-Hop radar.”

Webby continued about his upcoming projects.  “Right now I’m working on a EP that’s going to lead into a album. I expect the EP to be 6 or 7 tracks kind of give a launch pad for the album that’s coming afterwards.”

Prescription Drug use has been at a all time high, Chris Webby broke down his use of both illegal and prescription drugs in the studio.

“I’m high pretty frequently, sometimes you just have to get in your little zone. When you’re taking Adderall in the studio you get all geeked up. I’m prescribed by the way.  I have very bad attention deficit disorder but its cool I was diagnosed at a early age, I been on attention medication for a long time. I don’t like to rely on it but sometimes it helps me because my ADD is kind of crazy.”

When we asked Chris Webby about his Top 5 Number 1 was a no-brainer.

“To Every rapper that is in my age range, it doesn’t matter whether they’re white, black, Hispanic, Asian Eminem when he first came out he changed the way Hip Hop was and how it still is to this day.”

Slum Village Set To Release New Album 'Evolution'

(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop group Slum Village is set to return with their first LP in three years. After several shake-ups, original member T3 joined with Grammy-nominated producer Young RJ and J Dilla’s younger brother Illa J to record Evolution.

The latest project features guest appearances by Havoc of Mobb Deep, Blu, Raheem Devaughn, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Big Pooh. Production credits include T3, Young RJ, and Focus.

The founding members of Slum Village (T3, J Dilla, Baatin) started the group in the early 90’s in Detroit’s Conant Gardens neighborhood. Dilla later left the group in 2002 and was replaced by fellow Detroit emcee Elzhi.

Soon after Baatin also departed due to health complications, and T3 and Elzhi performed as a duo. Baatin would later return to the group.

Unfortunately, both founding members J Dilla and Baatin have since passed away. Dilla died in 2006 at 32. Baatin died in 2009 at 35.

Now T3, RJ, and Illa continue the Slum Village legacy with Evolution. The present-day crew has released the lead single “Forever,” and they are currently on a world tour to support their new album.

Evolution will be released on June 25th.

10 Life Lessons Learned From the Knicks Losing

So, if you are surprised in any way that the Knicks did not advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, then you are either delusional or do not live in reality (which is the same thing, but I’ll give you the benefit or your doubt!). To be clear, I am a New Yorker, born and raised, and while I do not have an official team I root for, I will say that I secretly hoped the Knicks would at least advance to the Eastern Conference Finals… I mean this was their season. They finally had some good chemistry, they won 54 games and a division title and the first postseason series win in 13 years, ended #2 in the East, and even gave the defending champions a run for their money during the regular season. So what happened? There were some classic mistakes made during this playoff series that, if we can learn from, we can use as lessons that will guide us in our every day life.Lesson 1 – Good is Not Enough

If you know basketball, then you know that defense wins games. You can score all the points in the world, but if you can’t stop your opponent from scoring, then you will always lose. The truth is that the Knicks played well defensively in this series, but THIS IS THE PLAYOFFS and they didn’t make stops! It’s as simple as that. To put it more plainly.. They played good defense but, unfortunately, good was not enough. Jim Collins once said in his best selling book, “From Good to Great”, that good is the enemy of great! If you continue to be comfortable with good, you will never get to the place in life that you deserve to be in! Stop striving or being comfortable with good. Aim for greatness in everything you do

Lesson 2 – Hustle Harder Than Your Opponent

While the Knicks All-Star center, Tyson Chandler, was being quoted in the media, Indiana’s All-Star center was getting buckets. Yes, folks that meloblockwill be the last time Roy Hibbert and “buckets” will be referred to in the same sentence…ever. There were many plays where Tyson Chandler was getting outplayed and simply out-hustled in the paint. I can sit here and tell you that in life, this is different but that would not be the case! No matter what you are doing and what you are striving for, there will always be someone who wants the same thing. The victor will ALWAYS be the person who wants it more… As the saying goes, “Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard!”

Lesson 3 –  Feed Your Strengths but Improve on Your Weaknesses

Mike Woodson has been out-coached throughout this entire series. Point. Blank. This is pretty controversial to say, but Woodson works for Carmelo Anthony, and Frank Vogel works for the Indiana Pacers franchise. Vogel has been drawing up play after critical play, making Woodson’s squad look like a bunch of amateurs. Meanwhile, Woodson’s “just let ’em play” attitude may have worked to keep him his job, but does not translate to the playoffs especially now that expectations are set. Make sure that as you are striving to be successful in life, you are not only feeding your strengths but improving on your weaknesses. Being too dependent on one aspect of your ability can be crippling to your success!

Lesson 4 –  Make Better Choices

The Knicks shot selection was putrid at best. This can be attributed to good defense by the Pacers, but the Knicks have been suffering from this bad-shot-taking syndrome all season. In life, if you keep doing what you’ve always done, you will keep getting what you’ve always gotten. Make sure that you are not allowing your bad habits to continue by not addressing them head on. The choices you make in life will decide which direction your life will go. Make better choices, and you will have better outcomes.. It is not rocket science!

Lesson 5 – Know When a Strategy Is Not Working Then Switch It Up

Now that shot selection was talked about, it’s only right to discuss J.R. Smith, as he is the king of kings when it comes to taking (and missing) bad shots. Smith has a load of talent and is one of the best shooters in the league, bar none, but when he shoots 7 for 23, the Knicks won’t ever win. Sometimes in life, when we know that something has worked in the past, we hold on to that memory and are reluctant to let it go. Know and understand that change is an inevitable part of life. Yes, we need to be persistent, but at the same time, our persistence shouldn’t cloud our judgment. When it’s obvious that a strategy is no longer working, don’t be afraid to let it go and try something different.

Lesson 6 – Use Your Common Sense

This goes back to Mike Woodson’s risky decisions in this series. In game 4, he started Kenyon Martin to match the Pacers bigs – which was the first mistake – but then only played Prigioni a grand total of 3 minutes. A player that was starting throughout the series and is a top defensive option in the rotation is only given 3 minutes in a playoff game? That doesn’t make any sense. Neither does Jason Kidd still averaging over 20 minutes a game… And while we’re on Jason Kidd, didn’t he play like Jerry West would have in this series currently? LOL! (Just kidding, pun intended) But Mike Woodson chose to stick with the Future Hall of Famer, loading him up on minutes as he went 0 for 700,000,000. In life, you have to make sure you are not over-complicating things. Don’t make life more difficult than it needs to be. Use your common sense. Some things are just obvious.

Lesson 7 – Ask and Accept Help

The number one question I asked myself during this series was, “Why are the Knicks playing Isolation offense?!” It’s basic basketball. Move the ball, spread the defense, take the open shot. Yes, Melo is the best player on the court, but this is the playoffs… As soon as he stops dribbling, he has four players converging on him. If you treat life as if you are the only one in it, then you will surely go through some unnecessary hardships. Yes, this is your journey and yes, this is your life to live, but rest assured, there are people in this world who are going or have gone through what you’re going through or striving for. They say experience is the best teacher, but don’t think that you can’t learn from others. Ask and Accept Help! Sometimes that right guidance can help you avoid some painful mistakes.

Lesson 8 – Build Off of Your Momentum (Please Don’t Kill Your Vibe)

The Amare’ Stoudemire experiment has officially failed. He is out for the last month of the season and the first round of the playoffs but he plays now – why?? Because he makes $21 million a year – simply that. He isn’t playing bad in any sense, but the starters and the bench have a rhythm so when you add another piece to the puzzle, it’s going to take some time to get used to. Again, this is the playoffs and as Sweet Brown would say… “Ain’t Nobody Got No Time for That!” Sometimes, if something is working right for us, we have the tendency to try to change it just because. Make sure you are not self-sabotaging your own success. If you have momentum, keep feeding it and keep doing what has gotten you this far. You can’t decide to change your working strategy at the last minute, especially if it’s crunch time. To paraphrase the words of Mr. Kendrick Lamar…’Please don’t kill your vibe!’

Lesson 9 – Have Some Heart

Does this even need an explanation? Anyone watching this series can tell which team wanted it more, and I’ll leave it at that. But when it comes to your dreams and aspirations, you must be willing to have the courage to take what you deserve! You have to want your success as bad as you want to breathe! You have to make the commitment to achieving your dreams by any means necessary! You can’t say you want something and not be willing to put in the work to attain it! Have Some Heart! NOTHING CAN STOP YOU BUT YOU!!

Lesson 10 – Stop Making Excuses

Lastly, already some Knicks fans have begun to make excuses for why their team lost. Some say that it’s the refs from the previous series that caused the Knicks their inability to close out the Celtics when they should have, resulting in them losing Game 1 of this series after a day and a half of rest, and subsequently starting the process of them chasing the series. Yadda, Yadda, Yadda!! It is what it is!! When you get into the habit of making excuses, you are stopping the process of being able to learn from your mistakes! Make sure you are owning up to your missteps and using them as the steppingstone to your success! Excuses are like belly buttons: everyone has one and they ain’t worth nothin’.

Kendrick Lamar Says He's Inspired By Kanye West, Calls 'Yeezus' Title Genius

(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar is one of the hottest young emcees in Hip-Hop today, but the Black Hippy member still looks to some of the old heads in the game for inspiration.

K-Dot sat down with MTV’s Sway Calloway recently and revealed he appreciates the way Kanye West rolled out his new single “New Slaves.”

Rather than releasing a traditional music video or even premiering the track on radio or online, West projected a video of the song onto 66 buildings around the world.

[ALSO READ: Kanye West Creatively Releases New Song Called “New Slaves”]

“That whole marketing scheme is crazy,” said Kendrick. “It’s very inspiring. After a while you get to a point in Hip-Hop where certain tactics get watered down. How much music can you release on the Internet to get it hot? How many singles can you put out? How many videos can you possibly do?”

Over the weekend rumors began to swirl that Kanye’s upcoming 6th solo album will be titled Yeezus. While some may see this as a controversial name for the performer’s LP, Kendrick co-signs Kanye’s creative license as an artist.

“That’s that creative Kanye genius stuff out the box,” says Kendrick. “It’s art. It’s Hip-Hop. Whatever way is his way of being creative and getting his message across through that album, that’s the culture. Period. So, I can’t wait to hear it.”

More Drama For Mary J. Blige, Singer Hit With $3.4 Million Tax Lien

(AllHipHop News) Even with a national scandal consuming the I.R.S. over the last week, the government agency still continued its pursuit of missing taxes from high-profile citizens. The latest celebrity to have to face the tax man is the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige.

According to TMZ, Blige is being accused of not paying all of her federal taxes in 2009, 2010, and 2011. The I.R.S. says that the “I’m Goin’ Down” singer owes a total of $3,426,255.43.

Blige’s financial troubles also include over $900,000 in back taxes owed to the state of New Jersey, and in February the Grammy winner was sued for allegedly defaulting on a $500,000 loan from Bank of America.

Prior to that lawsuit, she and her husband were accused of defaulting on a $2.2. million Signature Bank loan in November of 2012.

Blige’s federal tax issues became public two weeks after Lauryn Hill, her duet partner on “I Used To Love Him,” was sentenced to three months in prison for unpaid taxes.

Snoop Lion, Fat Joe, and Swizz Beatz have all had to address alleged unpaid taxes in recent months as well.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Will Nas And Kendrick Lamar Get In the Studio?

Just went there was enough danger going around with Jay-Z and Drake working on music together, THIS HAPPENS. Yeah, its seems that Nas and Kendrick Lamar are working something out. How cool is it that two completely different eras of dopness are working on something epic? In this particular case, it seems that Nas and Kendrick are working on a remix of “Sing About Me.” Kendick Lamar already told VIBE that he wanted Nas on the original version. So, rumors have already started that these dudes are going to get a remix. But, I think its more like fans want it to happen. I hear both Nas and Kendrick are working on new albums so I am going just hope that they create something new and ill for their respective projects.

I wonder what Jungle is doing these days?
