DJ Megaton’s Killer Gets 21 Years In Jail

(AllHipHop News) DJ Megaton, Corey McGriff, gets s bit more justice as his murderer is sentenced to 21 years in jail.

William “Billy” Williams had already pled guilty in the case and copped to  first-degree manslaughter in January. But he’s finally been sentenced to killing the “106 & Park” DJ, who was hugely popular.

Williams will have five years of supervision to serve as well.

Williams admitting to shooting Megatron after the DJ refused to be robbed about 2 am on March 27, 2011. After being shot, and dying, Megatron was robbed of his material possessions including sentimental items.

The man that did the robbing, Richard Cromwell, will be sentenced in the upcoming week.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Birdman Got A Winner!

Sorry, Slim! I knew it was too good to be true that Slim Williams would pop up in the rumors. That dude is way too low key. So, the word now is that Baby is the Williams brother than is dating Pilar Sanders, the ex of Deion Sanders. You know Deion…aka Neon.

Prime Time!

Anyway, the word now is that Birdman is rocking hard with Pilar, paying her bills that help her battle with Deion legally. You know she didn’t manage to get custody of the kids, because of this crazy rumor about 50 Cent. They have also been rumored to be dating about a year now.

What Ray J’s “I Put Her On” Album Will Sound Like

(AllHipHop News) William Ray Norwood Jr. has been in the news almost ever year even whe he is not releasing music. Past events suggest he possesses no filter. He’s had physical altercations with Fabolous, radio tirades and of course, the sex tape scandal which elevated the stardom of the relatively unknown Kim Kardashian. Better known as Ray J, the singer/songwriter recently announced he’s releasing an album entitled I Put Her On with the single “I Hit It First” to be released on iTunes on April 9th.

A blind man in a dark room with soap in his eyes can see where this album is probably going so let’s venture into what Ray J’s new album will be…hypothetically.

Intro

Regular Bush

With a chorus consisting of “you only got that reggie bush” being screamed repeatedly from an autotuned Ray J, the crooner flips the name of one of Kim Kardashian’s former flames’ , Reggie Bush, to be a double entendre (Not #TripleAuntAndre) for marijuana and Kim K’s “regular” sex game.

I Hit It First

What’s G.O.O.D.? (featuring Consequence)

After hearing Consequence actually write the lyric “light skin is the right skin” from a Love & Hip Hop episode he officially became a “He’ll Say Anything” all star. With Cudi and Common leaving G.O.O.D. Music in less than a year of each other and Pusha T revealing who gave Cons his front teeth, there’s enough ammunition for Consequence to make his own scorned revenge album.

In Or Out? (Featuring Future)

” I got an indoor pool, an outdoor pool”-Ray J

Ray J uttered these lines in an altercation with Fabolous and etched himself in social media infamy. Ray J has no shame in flipping past failures into future “successes”. Imagine Future’s “I woke up in a new Bugatti” chorus from Ace Hood’s song “Bugatti”. Now, imagine that same chorus but with the words “I got an indoor pool/I got an outdoor pool/So girl…you in or out?” Now repeat. Add some Young Chop/Mike Will Made It/Lex Luger “trap rap” hi hats and snares and you have “In Or Out”.

Mr. TMZ (Skit)

SCENE: Ray J gets a phone call from Game.

Game: “Yo Ray, another chick in the tabloids saying I’m her baby daddy. It’s so tough being us.”

Ray J: “I know. Paparazzi around me so much I adopted one of them. [Laughs] *Phone beeps* hold up Benzino calling me.

Game: “That’s the homie, put him on conference call.”

*Conference call begins*

Ray J: “Yo ‘Zino, Game on the line with us.”

Benzino: “What’s up Chuck? You getting massacred by these tabloids like me, cuz?”

Game: “Yeah man it’s.. *phone beeps* hold up it’s Budden. I’m going to patch him through.”

*Joe enters*

Game: “Joe, you on the line with Ray J and Benzino too.”

Joe: [in best Barry White impersonation voice]: *Long sigh* “Hi guys. How are..”

Ray J: “Yo, not to cut you off Joey B, but I just thought of something. If you think about it. The internet is world wide, right? We the most talked about dudes on these internet streets, right? That means we the most talked about men in the world, right? Sh*t all the traffic we bring to TMZ, we probably should own that motherfu*ker”

*Group laughter* *Group Silence* *Sound of a light bulb clicking on*

Ray J:  I HAVE A BRILLIANT IDEA!

*Fade into next song*

Mr. TMZ (Feat./ Game, Benzino & Joe Budden)

POSSE CUT ALERT! POSSE CUT ALERT!  Imagine A$AP Rocky “1 Train” but full of reality TV show references. A few “I’m loving Hip Hip (Love N Hip Hop)”, a few “Globetrotter, I’m a WorldStar” and a whole lot of dirty laundry being aired out by Hip Hop reality TV’s leading men…and Ray J.

I Been On (Feat./ Moesha)

No typo. Over Beyonce’s “I Been On”, Ray J’s older sister Brandy reprises her role as his cousin-turned-paternal-half-sister Moesha from the 90’s comedy show to remind him they were TV stars years before we kept up with any Kardashian. Also, while she’s here (and in an alter-ego she can defer blame to) Moesha will probably send a light shot at  Beyonce who essentially said “I run R&B, y’all just peasants” on “Bow Down/I Been On”.

Mistake

This is the ballad. Better description: This is the ballad where Ray J hints that he should have been the first to impregnate Kim and even alludes to her unborn child being a mistake. Before you scoff at the notion that Ray J would stoop so low as to call another man’s unborn child a mistake peep the evidence:

Evidence A: “I Hit It First”

Evidence B: Ray J once harmonized these lyrics on his song “Snakes In The Grass”:

“Make sure you don’t bleed and stuff/Make sure this aint your bloody week, you sl*t.

Blame Game(Remix)  (featuring Amber Rose and Kris Humphries)

There is no better way to end an album implicitly dedicated to Kim Kardashian than remixing the most scathingly detailed breakup letter from a rapper to a model ever. Simple. This could be the song that reveals it all. Ray J could sing rap narrate a story where he confirms the lingering rumor that Kim and her mother, Kris Jenner were behind the sextape release. Amber Rose, the unfortunate topic of the original “Blame Game” could finally go into detail about Kim’s home-wrecking ways like she hinted in numerous interviews earlier last year.

“They were both cheating on me and Reggie with each other. She was sending pictures, and I was like, ‘Kim, just stop. Don’t be that person,” Rose told Star Magazine in Janruray of 2012.

Then to end the song and the album, Kris Humphries comes in and simply says: “I know who/ did you know what/with you know who/ Let’s just keep that between me and you. For now.”

NEW MUSIC: Big Sean – “Switch Up” (Feat./ Common)

“Trying to get that white money, you know counting K K K’s.”-Big Sean

(AllHipHop News)  Big Sean is gearing up for his June release of his sophomore album Hall of Fame with the release of his new song, “Switch Up”. Sean recruits the G.O.O.D. Music affiliate Common for this synth heavy bounce track.

Check out the track below:

Hip-Hop Rumors: Kanye West May Have To Fight After This One!

Man, Kanye is a bad man. He’s sticking with Kim Kardashian and has somehow managed to stay above the fray even with a baby on the way. But, Ray-J seems to want to drag him into some mess. I doubt that Kanye will go for it, but then again, a man can only take so much. Ray-J’s new song is called “I Hit It First.” I wonder what he’s trying to say? The crazy thing is, the other song is reportedly called “I Put Her On.” Really?

Not sure what Ray-J is thinking on this one. I guess publicity stunt.

(AllHipHop News) Harry Fraud took a moment to speak with AllHipHop about his recently released mixtape “Adrift” as well as releasing some records he’s had in the vault with Mac Miller, establishing a relationship with Smoke DZA and linking with the biggest boss Rick Ross and MMG.

When it came to working with Mac Miller, Fraud says the two connected years ago. “We probably did a couple songs a year and a half to two years ago. His people around him reached out. They’re obviously fans of French’s music and we’re fans of their music,” Fraud continued “we never actually met in person, we just communicated through, email and phones.”

Smoke DZA and Harry Fraud released the “Rugby Thompson’ Album in 2012 to both critical and commercial success , Harry detailed their growing relationship and it leading to other projects..

“We clicked super easy, obviously now a year later, we’re really close friends, we’ve made a decent amount of music since then, that’s my bro, he made so much s### possible for me …for instance Smoke brought Currency to the studio to do the record for his album and that’s how me an Currency started to build and we got to do the EP.”

Next was a call from Rick Ross who brought Harry Fraud in to do some music for Self Made 2.

“French called me and put him on the phone and we talked very briefly, he said he wanted to do some music, and I was at his house the next day or two days later.”

Fraud told AHH one thing he was impressed by was Rozay’s work ethic

“Ross , he’s just on some music s###, he loves to make music, he’s really focused on the music. He’s not where he’s at for no reason …or just because he’s some kind of gimmick or something like that. He’s very focused.”

Wale’s Twitter Account Deleted

(AllHipHop News) Wale Folarin is prepping to have the best year of his career with the anticipated release of his 3rd album The Gifted on June 25th and collaborative album with Jerry Seinfeld later in the year. However,  today is not his day as his personal Twitter account has vanished.

[ALSO READ: Wale Says He May Drop Two Albums This Year]

Blogger turned mogul turned rapper whisperer Karen Civil tweeted that the profile deletion was not done by Wale himself:

Wale has a history of angering people on Twitter. In August of 2011, Wale got into a Twitter battle with video vixen Rosa Acosta. Wale performed at the Heineken Red Star Access Presents Roc Nation concert in Philadelphia and Acosta called Wale going in the crowd during his performance a “#CreativeIdeaFail”. Wale proceeded to call her every name under the sun including an “industry slide”. Wale later apologized to Acosta.

Wale also threatened to leave Twitter back in 2009 after a Twitter debate with DJ Semtex over Wale sending the tweet “I hate doing interviews” while being interviewed, presumably by DJ Semtex.

5 & Done: CallMeDrop AKA Drop

When Brandon Johnson acquired the moniker “CallMeDrop,” it was because of his ability to drop knowledge. “I’m a writer, a storyteller and I love music and creativity,” he states. “My goal is to recreate the lane of expression in art without being boring or cliché.”

Background: Rapper Drop puts the Drop on the competition. His latest project is a street album/mixtape called “Slideshow – The SetUp.” The mixtape serves as a flashback of his life from 2008-2011. The DMV native’s experimental rhyme scheme and lyricism offers a fresh element to emceeing.

AllHipHop.com: Firstly, give us some background info as to who you are.

Drop: My stage name is Drop. I’m a writer, a story teller and I love music and creativity. My goal is to re-create the lane of expression in art without being boring or cliché. As a child, I wrote stories and plays, participated in the school choir and created beats on tables to entertain friends and classmates. I noticed the types of positive responses and feedback that people gave based on the aggression and passion that I had towards my lyrical delivery and word-play. After high school, I discovered a new passion for hip-hop and music as an art form. Using a culmination of personal life experiences and lessons learned, I began attending open mic circuits and talent shows, and performing in my own shows to gain additional exposure. Although I took my skills for granted in the beginning, the fans continued to support me and keep me focused on this God given ability to tell stories through my music.”

AllHipHop.com: What is the significance of your name?

Drop: After winning some local freestyle competitions, I was given the name “Drop” based on my ability to “Drop knowledge and creativity when on the mic”. As time went on, people started using it on a regular basis so I just ran with it.

AllHipHop.com: What single or project are you currently pushing?

Drop: I have recently released a mix-tape called Slideshow: “The Setup” which serves as a collection of my thoughts from 2008-2011. The intent is to introduce new people to my music and let existing fans know where I have been over the past four years. In the spring, I will be releasing another mix-tape called Slideshow: “The Walk Through” to focus more on who Drop is in 2013. And Lastly, “The Slideshow, LP” will be released in the fall as an actual album.

AllHipHop.com: If you can change one thing about the music industry what would it be and why?

Drop: I know the music industry is a business, so artists have to adapt to changes in order to stay relevant, however if I could change anything about the industry I’d like the labels to sign more authentic artists. Just like pro athletes, it’s a small percentage of people with real talent and ability. A lot of those people are getting overlooked because of trends and ”watered down” writing. It’s a privilege to make music that the world can hear and access. We should recognize the people who really put time and effort into their crafts.

All Hip Hop: Any Final Words?

Drop: I want to thank AllHipHop.com for the opportunity. I want to thank the artists who inspired me: Jay-Z, Nas, Royce 5’9, Eminem (old), The Fugees, Tupac, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Alicia Keys. Also log on to my website www.CallMeDrop.com and follow me on Twitter @callMeDrop. Welcome to the revolution!

Hip-Hop Rumors: Tyga Banished From Harvard?

Good lord. I though voyeur life was real again, were the masses were into Hip-Hop from afar. Kind of like a zoo. But, apparently not at Harvard. Tyga was supposed to perform at the campus of the school and it seems like a group of people are calling for the YMCMB member to get pulled from the bill. Yardfest is the annual thing there, but actual students are protesting him. Why? It looks like the songs like “Rack City” reek of misogyny to these people. Now, I have to wonder – WHERE YALL BEEN? Most of the protesters seem to be women and they seem to have a strong movement against him…all 1,000 of them. But, the Tyga announcement was just made a couple of days ago so you better believe its going to get more people as the event approaches for spring.

Time will tell if Tyga gets the boot.

Harvard got jokes though. They are saying that Tyra should perform instead.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Who Stole Ace Hood’s Style Part 2?

Well, the results are in and they are not diverse or surprising.

RELATED: Who Stole Ace Hood’s Style?

These are based on emails and comments on this matter. Basically, Ace Hood didn’t say it, but everybody else is. Perhaps Meek Mill was influenced by the young Miami spitter a bit. BUT, here is the catch. I also got quite a few people that told me that Meek has been spitting like he’s spitting for a long time – before Ace Hood. So, maybe its the other way around? I know for a fact that Meek been doing his thing for a long time and bubbled to the top with Rick Ross. But, I remember when Meek was a dirty-looking kid on youtube spitting crazy. As for his style then? I don’t remember. Then he went to T.I. and now Rozay. The rap world is too small for this to pop off as a beef but I guess every has a take on it.Take the poll. There are only three poll answers based on all those people that answered the question.
