(AllHipHop News) The head of a New Jersey police union is under fire for dropping a gangster rap video filled with explicatives, homophobic lyrics and various lyrical threats.
Police officer Maurice Gattison, of Irvington, New Jersey, is being investigated by The Irvington Police Department over the videos, to see if Gattison, aka “Gat the Great,” broke any of the department’s rules.
Gattison, head of The Irvington Police Union, raps under the moniker “Gat the Great” and is featured on a variety of songs filled with violence, including one titled “Temper Like An Alcoholic.”
Three other Irvington Township police officers who are featured in the video, are also under investigation.
“The Irvington police department has standards of conduct that apply to on duty and off-duty behavior,” Police Director Joseph Santiago told The Newark Star-Ledger.
Gattison, who works in narcotics, said the controversy is ridiculous.
“There’s a lot of other things that could be dealt with if you wanted to do an article,” Gattison told the Star-Ledger. “Not what I’m doing and my personal life, just singing a song.”
Rapping police officers seems to be a growing phenomenon.
In December of 2012, Dallas Police Lieutenant Regina Smith a.k.a. “Lucille Baller,” was suspended from the Dallas Police Department for her gangster rap videos.
In that case, Lucille Baller was accused of violating the Dallas Police Department’s ethical standards, by releasing a rap video tbat featured her holding a gun, while rapping threatening lyrics.

AllHipHop: Tell us a little bit about Central Texas and how your home town has shaped your music….
Pimpin Pen: Austin is what I call a BIG COUNTRY TOWN. You have The University of Texas the center point of the city but so much grit under the city lights. Most of the population here comes from various parts of the world so its a big melting pot. We are born and raised here so our roots run deep. We have a big family here that’s well known from sports to just being real good folks. With that being said our support system is crazy. Like a machine within the machine. Growing up in the environment we grew up in makes our music how we are. From the block to the church house you can’t miss us. We are V.I.P.
AllHipHop: What is the history of V.I.P and how did K Paul and Pimpin Pen come together?
Pimpin Pen: K Paul and myself are first cousin’s. We ended up writing a Christmas song with our older cousin Shell for our moms. That was my first rap I ever wrote. Didn’t think the Christmas song would come to this. K and myself always freestyle on the block and wrote verses until one day K introduced me to some folks back in 99 when we then became a group (V.I.P.) and signed our first independent deal.
AllHipHop: Who were some of your influences growing up and developing your rap style? Who is popular where you are from?
K-Paul: Pac, DJ Screw (S.U.C), U.G.K, Outkast, Snoop, Each other. U gotta show love to Drew Brees, Chris Houston, James “Mandingo” Kirkland, LOEGZ, DJ Hella Yella, GO DJJB, Eleven8, Kydd Jones, V.I.P Always is reppin for the hometown!! We love Texas Hip-Hop and support it.
AllHipHop: You released Bottom of the 9th on Live Mixtapes.com recently, can you tell us about that project?
K-Paul: Bottom of da 9th is our latest work since 2006. It features European Grammy Award Winner El Axel, KiiKii Star, J Kapone and More. Production by Platinum Producers Nasty Kutt, TJ Music, Teddy Bladde, Hassan TMF and a few others that we been f*ckin with for a while. It’s just a preview to our EP which has a bunch of dope artists on it. From the midwest word flipper Freddie Gibbs we got a host of talent on that tape. Then not to mention Doughbeezy, Propain and Big Chief this upcoming EP is going to be epic.
AllHipHop: What is the title of the next project that you will be releasing?
K-Paul: The next project is Untitled but currently in the works with features from Freddie Gibbs, Bo Roc of Dove Shack, Big Chief, Bluu Suede and a couple of TOP SECRETS.
I almost skipped this rumor, but I decided to read and boyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…..did I get the jackpot! Not really. But, I do think it is kind of interesting that Wendy Williams and Lil Kim are clashing after all this time. I’m not fully sure what happened to spark it, but it seems like WW said something on her show and put a certain pic on that wasn’t so flattering. AND KIM WENT OFF ON TWITTER! See the tweets below!
(AllHipHop News) The “Fakest Reality Show Ever” will be back with 12 new episodes. BET has announced that the Kevin Hart-led Real Husbands of Hollywood has been renewed for a second season.
The partially scripted “mockumentary” stars Hart, Nick Cannon, Boris Kodjoe, Duane Martin, J.B. Smoove, and Robin Thicke as famous friends who attempt to manage their live as celebrities in the parody of popular reality shows like Real Housewives of Atlanta, Basketball Wives, and Love and Hip Hop.
The series also featured guest appearances from Nelly, “Sugar” Shane Mosley, Trey Songz, Common, and other celebrities.
“When we launched this series in January, we knew our audience would have as much fun watching it as we had making it, and since it has been on the air, fans have voiced on social media that they want more. So this was a pretty simple decision: ‘Hey! Let’s make more!'” said BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials Stephen Hill in a statement.
The show was created by Hart and former Def Comedy Jam producer Chris Spencer and was based on a segment that ran during the 2011 Bet Awards. The series is produced by some of the most accomplished people in the entertainment industry including Stan Lathan(“Martin,” “Beat Street” “Def Comedy Jam”), Ralph Farquhar(The Parkers), Jesse Collins (The BET Awards), and Tim Gibbons(Curb Your Enthusiasm).
Real Husbands of Hollywood debuted on January 15 with over 4 million viewers. The season one finale will air on Tuesday, March 19th at 10 pm on BET.
The real is BACK! Good times is about to be made into a movie! Now, for those of you that are too young to know, Good Times was a show in the 70s that was tremendously popular. It documented the struggle associated with Black life in the projects. Chicago is the setting for the movie. Now, I am worried. Why?
Man, Chicago ain’t the same! People like Chief Keef will kill Micheal and JJ! Remember how diesel James Evans was? He used to beat up thugs!
Thelma was hot too!
I hate to say it, but we will need Black Jesus to make this movie good!
Wonder who they can possibly think could fill these shoes successfully?
They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry! -illseed.
You know I am the last person that comes down on somebody for so-called “snitching,” but Chris Brown is well-known as a touch guy these days. He’s not lost a fight yet! But, there is a 911 tape floating around the net and it shows a very different side to the R&B singer. Well, he’s basically singing like a bird after he was “boxed in” by somebody threatening his well being.
That boy is a boy!
They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry! -illseed.

Joe Budden called into the Hot 97’s Angie Martinez Show today because he states that Consequence sucker-punched on him backstage of the Love & Hip Hop: New York‘s reunion Filming today.
Apparently, Consequence was getting too much negative feedback when Joe Budden confronting him at Hot 97 last month.
(AllHipHop News) Boulder police responded to a riot situation that formed as fans lined up for free tickets to Tyler, the Creator’s first solo show outside the Fox Theatre last night (March 11th.)
Tickets for the 8 P.M. were offered on a firs-come first serve basis and the line grew unruly around 6 P.M., roughly three hours after the line began to form.
A manager of a nearby Jimmy John’s claims he was assaulted by an intoxicated fan, as he attempted to clear a way for customers to enter his establishment.
Despite this isolated incident,Boulder police spokeswoman Kim Kobel claims no one else was assaulted.
In the midst of the crowd unruliness, Tyler attempted to ease the tensions through his Twitter account with an equalizing proposition:
Monday’s free show was the first free show Fox Theatre has put out in five years.
“This is the reason we normally don’t do free shows,” Operational Manager of Fox Theatre Brian Carp said.
The eccentric MC is prepping his 3rd solo album, Wolfto be released on April 2nd. The new season of Odd Future’s Loiter Squad sketch comedey show returned this past Sunday (March 10th).
UH OH! I think the news section is on this so I won’t spoil it, but I am hearing that Jim Jones is two shakes of a rattle snake away from getting sued. Apparently, a very popular producer from on the west side is like “Yoooooooooooo!”
YEP! have you heard the song “Green Light Go” which features Swizz Beatz?
Here it is…
So, basically the song was produced by Scoop DeVille and he didn’t give his graces on the song, my sources say, because he was not paid for the track. Now the song has been released as a real song and somebody is like WTF? I’ve been informed that there has been a cease and desist to Jim Jones, which has been allegedly ignored.
Now what? I don’t know!
I think they will work out the business, because the song is getting traction already and is on mostly all the blogs.
Stay tuned!

(AllHipHop News) The rumored Tupac biopic has lost screenwriters, gained directors, lost directors, gained hope, rinsed and repeated since its mid-2010 announcement.
After John Singleton and Training Day director Antoine Fuqua left the movie within a year of its announcement, Fuqua says the movie is still on.
Citing bad timing of the announcement Fuqua asserted to The Playlist blog that the movie is not only real but has a deal and is waiting on a script to be hashed 0ut:
“It was announced too soon,” Fuqua lamented. “I have a deal for Tupac, but the script is not there yet, and its being worked on. Somehow someone started talking about it, it got out there and went crazy, but it was always a situation of, let’s make sure we have a great script, and get it right.”
Fuqua stated the movie, originally slated to begin production in Spring of 2011, will focus on “the last few days, that trip from LA to Vegas, and where his head was during that journey.”
Another rumored holdup for the film of the late great lyricist is Fuqua’s desire to cast an unknown for the starring role, a plight he has expressed since 2011. The Academy Award winning director has also had a busy slate as of late with him being attached a Miles Davis biopic starring Don Cheadle and releasing a new movie, Olympus Has Fallen on March 22nd.
With a unique sense of fashion, an up-beat style of music, and an undying desire to live “that life,” Typical Friday Night (TFN) brings a new video to the scene aptly dubbed “Bout That Life.” Directed by Dan Centrone, this bright visual coupled with the King Patrick’s production gives Hip-Hop heads something they’ve never seen before. With EDM and Hip-Hop joining forces and with the attention that’s been given to the new genre over the last year, we can only expect big things from TFN, comprised of Jet Phynx and Broadway. From their crazy get up’s to their party lifestyle TFN is up next, so follow along via @TFNParty on Twitter and enjoy
This is the best news I’ve heard in years! Well, it remains to be a bit of a rumor and I have some questions, but let me get to the actual gist of it.
The word on the street is that Lil Kim has a whole bunch of Biggie songs that she’s been hiding from us. But, it seems like these verses may be linked to a Lil Kim album, which could get interesting. This rumor alone probably has Diddy on the phone with his legal eagles.
Here is an interview where she talks about it.
What do you think?
