Hip-Hop Rumors: VMA Rumors – Chris Brown, Drake and Rihanna Come Face to Face

Last night, the MTV VMA Awards went live, and some of the antics or “rumored” antics that took place will be sure to keep us talking for a while. Let’s start with the obvious – Chris Brown and Rihanna finally being caught on camera talking and hugging. While the category of Best Hip-Hop Video was being presented, Rihanna took the opportunity to walk over to Breezy and say hello. She even patted him on the head as she walked away. Check out the screenshots below:

Breezy’s girlfriend Karreuche was nowhere in sight. Instead, Breezy was sitting next to Bu Thiam, VP of A&R at Def Jam. This was the first awards show that Rihanna and Chris Brown have attended together since the incident and break-up in 2009.

Well, it sure did look like Nicki Minaj was throwing a little bit of shade Rihanna’s way during the show. Could it have been because Rihanna greeted Chris Brown, and up until now, it seems as if she never greeted Drake? Nicki allegedly dissed Rihanna and told her to “sit the f*ck down” when Ri Ri tried to hug her after Nicki had won an award. illseed got the scoop on that story below:

RELATED:Hip-Hop Rumors: Nicki Minaj Shuts Rihanna Down At VMAs?

Okay, and now to Drake. First, what is the deal with his terrible styling? Can someone get this man a stylist, please! I just can’t figure out what he is trying to do with this look. Check out a photo that Birdman posted of Drizzy’s look below:

Okay. Anyway, Drizzy won the award for Best Hip-Hop video, and when he won his award, he had to walk right past Chris Brown. Check out a few photos below. The looks on their faces are priceless.

Talk about tension! So while Drake was walking up to receive his award, the camera flashed to Rihanna, she clearly mouthed the word “*sshole.” I’m guessing Rihanna is #teambreezy all the way.

Rihanna was definitely the biggest star at the VMAs last night, getting a majority of the camera time. From opening the show, to winning awards, to an insane amount of candid camera time, Ri Ri was the center of attention. During her performance of her single “Cockiness” with A$AP Rocky, A$AP went completely in and had a very intimate moment with Rihanna. A$AP leaned in close to Rihanna, put his mouth on her neck, and openly grabbed Rihanna’s backside like he owned it.

She really didn’t seem to mind, which I found weird being that her ex Chris Brown and her play thing, Drake were there as well. Could that have also been a reason that Nicki Minaj allegedly threw shade at Rihanna?

Rihanna stole the show at the VMAs, and I’m sure she’s loving every minute of it. Did you enjoy the VMAs?

Hip-Hop Rumors: Amber Rose Sports Her Baby Bump To VMAs!

Well, we all knew this was real, even though Wiz and Amber denied it. I’m not mad at them for lying, because in the early stage of pregnancy, you have to be careful. So, yesterday they went to the VMAs and decided to drop the bomb and let everybody know the real. They seem very happy. I don’t know why this juxtaposes with Kanye and Kim Kardashian, but it does somehow. You know, with the rumors that Kim wants marriage and babies in her near future. I bet Beyonce loves that news, being that she shut Kim down at Made In America.

I thought she had to keep her hair dark though? I guess she’s officially out of the danger zone.

Daily Word: Pick The Right Team!!!

Happy Friday, my Centers of Influence and Creatures of Excellence!

Welcome to the best day of your life…. Everyday!! The day that you realize that you waking up, breathing, and reading this right now is a blessing, and everything else is just a bonus! Today’s Daily Word is dedicated to teamwork!

I rarely talk about my political views or in what direction I feel people should go, so I won’t today… but as you know, we are in the middle of a presidential election, and the choice
you make will decide our success as a country… To that I say pick the right team!! The same goes with your success in life…

Anyone who has ever said that their success was “self-made” is not telling you the whole truth! I don’t think there is a person alive who can possibly be a success without needing anyone! If you research all successful people for the last thousands of years, the one thing you will find in common is a strong team and support system! It is imperative as you take this journey from good to great, that you ONLY surround yourself with people that support you and make you better!

People who will say yes to everything will only make you complacent! People who always say no to everything will only make you self-conscious! People who are always negative will just bring that unnecessary energy to you! Instead build a team of folks who are comfortable being themselves and support what you do 1000%! The right team will take you farther then any success you can have solo! Make a choice and Be the best that you can be!!

Hip-Hop Rumors: Who Is Getting Kicked Off Love And Hip-Hop: Atlanta?

I was reading Rolling Out and I’m hearing some great things! I am hearing from them that somebody is getting kicked off the show Love And Hip-Hop ATL. The only problem is that leaving more space for ratchetness. Anyway, according to the popular Atlanta paper, Rasheeda or Mama Dee are going to get the boot. I don’t know why they would kick Rasheeda off! She’s been the ONE positive factor on the damn show. Now, Mama Dee is another story. A 50 year old stripper? WHEW! Where they do that at? Everywhere? True. Anyway, they said Mama Dee was TOO RATCHET! That should guarantee her her own show on VH1!!!!

Shouldn’t Chief Keef be due for a reality show right about now. LOL!

Shout out to Nicki Minaj for winning something yesterday at the VMAs. I really just like this picture.

EXCLUSIVE: French Montana Talks “Mac & Cheese 3”; Success of “Pop That” Collabo Single

(AllHipHop News) Bad Boy/MMG affiliate and Interscope Records artist French Montana is excited about the success of his new strip club-friendly single, “Pop That”, featuring Rick Ross, Drake, and Lil Wayne.

The Bronx rapper spoke with AllHipHop.com during an exclusive interview in Los Angeles, California this week at Interscope’s worldwide headquarters, in Santa Monica.

French repeatedly shouted out “Pop That” during the interview, enthusiastic about his “Pop That Contest.”

The song will be featured on French Montana’s debut album Excuse My French, while the artwork for his mixtape, Mac & Cheese 3, was just released.

French told AllHipHop.com with confidence that his album would be unequivocally better than the mixtape.

“Definitely shout out to the whole Interscope, man, since [signing] I just been working on the project. I feel like I just come from where you gotta have an appetizer before the meal, so that’s why I got this Mac & Cheese 3,” French Montana said.

“It’s just to let people know what to expect from me. You can’t have your mixtape better than the album. I basically did 50 songs, and whatever doesn’t make the album, we just gonna keep them for the streets, you know what I’m saying?” French explained.

“Pop That” has already been declared the lead single for the Excuse My French debut effort, and French Montana has created an entire contest centered around the single’s theme.

“Pop That. Coke Boyz/Interscope/Bad Boy are doing a contest. It’s gonna be big, bigger than life, we done flew in the baddest b*tches in the world. We gonna bring out the leaf blowers,” French told AllHipHop.com.

Discussing the contest helped French remember one of his favorite strip club songs.

“Akinyele, “Come F*ck Me for Free”, a chick ask me for a hundo, and I would tell her ‘Come F*ck me for Free,’ French Montana said. “But all the strip club joints were hits. I used to love all of them; that’s where the hits start from. The biggest song in the club now is “Bands Make Her Dance” and “Pop That”.”

Hip-Hop Rumors: Nicki Minaj Shuts Rihanna Down At VMAs?

I’m secretly staying at a hidden spot in Harlem and I woke up this morning to hear Angela Yee giving me a rumor. Damn. Freaking Nicki Minaj and Rihanna have some kind of beef, which spawned itself at the VMAs last night.

The people over at Bossip posted the following:

Nicki’s pop hit “Starships” won the VMA for Best Female Video over RiRi’s other hit “We Found Love” and apparently, Rihanna got a taste of New York Nick! Yeah, RiRi went over to give Nicki a hug and she was promptly told to “sit the f**k down!” WOW!

Is this because of her tryst with Drake? Perhaps her being the center of the beef with Chris Breezy and Drizzy? Nobody knows. I do know this, both look too good to be fighting. Make love, not war.

And that’s what they used to do. Love each other. It was all good just a week or year ago.

But last night, Nicki Minaj went for the wild out moment and left the love at home in her old handbag.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Dr. Dre De-Throne’s Jay-Z!

Forbes’ annual Hip-Hop Cash Kings list has been released and after topping the list for the past couple of years, Jay-Z has been de-throned by Dr. Dre. The good doctor raked in $110 million dollars, with the bulk of his funds coming from his highly popular Beats By Dre headphones. Dre is only the second person on the list to make over $100 million dollars, the only other person was 50 Cent.

Diddy diddy bopped his way into the number 2 position pulling in 45 Million with Ciroc Vodka being the breadwinner in his business portfolio.

Jay-Z at Budweiser Made In America Festival
Jay-Z at Budweiser Made In America Festival

Although Jay-Z  was knocked out of the top spot, he still pocketed an impressive $38 Million dollars pulling in more than half his annual earnings from ventures including ownership stakes in cosmetics company Carol’s Daughter, the Brooklyn Nets and a joint venture with battery maker Duracell. This is the lowest that Jay-Z has ever ranked on the list.

Surprises on the list include indy rapper Tech N9ne who rounded out the list at #20 and pulled in $6 Million dollars.  Check out the full list below:

1. Dr. Dre – $110 million
2. Diddy – $45 million
3. Jay-Z – $38 million
4. Kanye West – $35 milliom
5. Lil Wayne – $27 million
6 Drake – $20.5 milliom
7. Birdman – $20 million
8. Nicki Minaj- $15.5 million
9. Eminem – $15 million
10. Ludacris – $12 million
11. Pitbull – $9.5 million
12. Rick Ross/Wiz Khalifa – $9 million
14. Snoop Dogg- $8.5 million

16. Swizz Beatz/Pharrell/Young Jeezy – $7 million
19. Mac Miller- $6.5 million
20. Akon/Timbaland/Tech N9ne/ – $6 million

I’m surprised Ice Cube is not on this list? He has a very lucrative deal with Coors Light and all of his movies. Is there anyone that’s on the list that surprises you?

You can check out a break down of the top 5 earners on the list in the video below:

Hip-Hop Rumors: Chuck D And Public Enemy Declined Jay-Z For Made In America!

This is crazy! Why would they do such thing? Chuck D and Public Enemy reportedly turned down Jay-Z (and Budwieser) for a slot on the Made In America Tour!

Here is what PE frontman Chuck D said:

“I know I’m made in America but I’m really made on the planet. I’m not made by America, or in it. So, we like to protest and be difficult. But I salute them for bringing Rap music to the forefront and being able to have Run-DMC to get that slot.”

Chuck seemed to slick diss Jay and Ye in other parts of the interview.

“It’s really very important that hip-hop and rap music supports the people,” Chuck D said. “’Catch the Thrown’ is very obvious in the lyrics. It’s like who’s gonna catch the people who are thrown at, thrown under and thrown to the side? And ‘watching the throne’ is a little arrogant elitism that we’ve always shot down.”

DNC Blog: Bill Clinton Misses The Mark?

DNC Guest Blog Post #2 From the League of Young Voters:

The tone of last night’s Democratic National Convention was quite different than Tuesday’s performances.  Way more somber than the inspirational speeches that motivated progressive activists the night before, the Dems rolled out individuals like Senatorial Candidate Elizabeth Warren, Costco co-founder Jim Sinegal, and Planned Parenthood boss Cecile Richards to, remind attendees that the party is filled with high ideals and intellectual rigor.

Of course no Democrat, except for maybe Barack Obama, personifies that dual perspective better than Bill Clinton.

Remember Bill Clinton? You know, the affable former governor of Arkansas whose 1992 presidential campaign was so soulful that many people of color started calling him the first black president.

Well, last night he took the stage with the sole purpose of dismantling the economic arguments put forth by President Obama’s competitors.  While his message was powerful, thought provoking and rooted in facts, its focus on middle class prosperity missed the mark.

Repeatedly reminding audiences that they were better off than they were four years ago, Clinton and his fellow speakers virtually ignored the hard to ignore reality that poor people, young people, and people of color are by all statistical measures way worse off than they were prior to Obama taking office. While the former president rightly pointed out that many of the problems impacting everyday people may have been exacerbated by Bush’s failed economic policies, the failure to acknowledge the struggles of the poor, further marginalizes populations that have been hurting since Clinton went on the Arsenio Hall Show to play his saxophone.

And that’s the struggle with Democrats.  While the party is strengthened by its diversity, far too often it fails to come to grips with the fact that they have often embraced the neo-liberal policies that have weakened the public safety net.  Heck, while in office, even Bill Clinton defunded AFDC, deregulated the banking industry, and sent more black men to prison than any other time in the history of the United States.

So unlike the night before, last night’s speeches unfortunately failed to connect to the masses. Although the Democrats are clearly not Republicans, their failure to address the needs of the working poor could be their downfall this election cycle. While many Americans are starting to see the light at the end of the proverbial recession tunnel, no speech, no matter how fact filled, can erase the fact that many of us are way worse off than we were four years ago.

Hopefully Barack Obama won’t make this same mistake tonight.

Rob “Biko” Baker, Executive Director, League of Young Voters Education Fund

Here is Bill Clinton’s speech in full.

About Robert “Biko” Baker:

The Executive Director of the League of Young Voters Education Fund, Rob “Biko” Baker is a nationally recognized leader. He has organized town hall meetings and used social networking to motivate young people to get involved in the civic process. Drake Supports Tyra Banks’ TZONE Camp For Girls With Performance In New York

(AllHipHop News) Toronto rapper Drake will hit New York to support Tyra Banks’ TZONE, a new effort being launched in conjunction with the supermodel and the Lower Eastside Girls Club on Avenue D in Manhattan.

Tyra will preside over the The Flawsome Ball, which will be headlined by Drake.

Tyra uses the word “Flawsome” (a mixture of flawed and awesome) to describe the young girls who take part in the TZONE, which was originally launched in 1999 as a weeklong camping experience for young girls in Los Angeles.

The new Lower Eastside Girls Club will house the first brick-and-mortar TZONE, which will offer hundreds of girls mentoring, workshops, financial literacy and self-esteem building courses and other valuable tools to help them succeed in life.

“Through this partnership, my lifelong mission of raising the self-esteem of young women and empowering them to feel beautiful inside and out can be realized for years to come,” Tyra Banks told AllHipHop.com. “It’s exciting that TZONE is now a physical space, as creating a place like this for girls has always been a dream of mine.”

Banks’ TZONE is one of the first programs being launched by the Lower Eastside Girls Club, which will open its new 30,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art center in the coming weeks.

The Flawsome Ball is slated to take place October 18. A location and more details will be released soon.

Hip-Hop Rumors: MTV VMA Seating Revealed! Drake, Chris Brown and Rihanna Sitting Arms Length Apart!

After Chris Brown’s rep denied that he would be attending the VMA’s, the celebrity seating chart has leaked  – and Breezy will indeed be in the house. In fact, all three love triangle participants will be sitting front row, just a few seats away from one another. Check out the celebrity seating chart photos that leaked last night:

I hope MTV has some serious insurance putting those three so close together in the front row.  I can’t wait to see the candid camera shots of those three. They’re reactions are sure to be hilarious.

So now that it has been confirmed that Breezy will be in the house, do you think he and Rihanna will surprise the audience with a duet?  A few weeks ago Rihanna asked her fans over twitter if they would like to see “Cake” turned into an official single. Ever since then, rumors have been circulating that the two were going to perform “Cake” at the VMA’s.

We don’t know, but MTV did announce that Rihanna would be opening the show with an A$AP Rocky assisted track. Could that be the ultimate throw off? Will Rihanna grace the stage with Breezy by  her side as one of the MTV VMA’s yearly surprises?
Is America ready for that?

Q-Parker Does Something Unusual for Today’s R&B – He Sings!

R&B singer and former 112-member Q Parker is back in the studio creating new music, like the new “Yes”, a ’90s-inspired track that smoothly showcases the crooner’s vocals.

In our most recent interview with Q Parker, he reveals he’s releasing his Southern hospitality this time around:

“I’m an ATL-born, bred, Southern gentlemen. I’m a romantic at heart, and I make my music for women, and I believe that women need a go-to-guy. They need a guy, a male artist, that’s making music for them. Forget trying to be in the club, forget trying to pop bottles, but just really sing and croon, for the women. They’re lacking that.”

“Too many times, as R&B artists, our main focus is what’s going on the other side within the Hip-Hop industry. We have to go get this rapper and be in the club, put them up in the VIP and all that kind of stuff, whereas, we’re leaving these women still wanting more from male artists. I took all that into consideration and I said, ‘You know what? I’m going to be their go-to-guy.’ When they hear my records, they know it’s going to be designed specifically for them,” Q Parker added.

With the single “Yes” picking up steam, that could secure a soon release for Q Parker’s The MANual. We need it. R&B needs it. Music needs it.

Lil Mouse: Signs The World Is Coming To An End

Hope you are happy, Hip-Hop.

This is what its come to huh? A rapper named Lil Mouse. This lil kid is on the new Lil Wayne mix tape. Nice. I never heard of the boy til he was trending on twitter though. And now….

I guess this is what Lupe was scared of with Chief Keef, a generation of young killers influenced by some other blind MF. A little kid talking about “Get Smoked.” Funny enough (if there is anything funny), this boy is from Chicago, which also bred Chief Keef. I wonder if Kanye, Pusha and the crew will lend a helping hand like Weezy? Enable him to spread his message all over the place?

Lil Mouse is 13 years old.

Now, ask yourself…is this cool?

The odd thing is that this isn’t truly new. There have been a few kid rappers that were talking that talk like Illegal in the 90s. Illegal had ties to heavies like Erick Sermon and Snoop Dogg. But, for some reason, this seems way to real and way too sad….pathetic even.

For the sake of history, here’s Illegal’s “Head Or Gut.”

Anyway, I hope somebody pulls this kid to the side before he looks like a different kind of mouse.

People in the Chi are charging that this boy is the victim of child abuse and neglect. Its really hard to argue the point.
