Documentary On Pharcyde Member J-Swift’s Drug Battle Being Released Digitally

(AllHipHop News) A documentary that chronicles the seven year battle of rapper J. Swift’s drug addiction, is being released digitally this December.

The documentary “1 More Hit” will be released in December, to a number of digital distribution outlets and VOD services.

The documentary focuses on J. Swift’s battle with crack cocaine, an addiction that help derail his career as a producer for The Pharcyde, in the mid-1990s.

“Everyone’s reaction to drugs and alcohol is different,” J-Swift told AllHipHop.com. “Drugs are like the ocean. There’s a lot of great musicians that got in too deep and a riptide took them away. Music was a life vest for me, my family and God rescued me. My new album [February 2012] is the culmination of everything I went through.”

According to the film’s director Shauna Garr, “1 More Hit” originally started off as a pilot for a reality series, but the complicated story ended up taking longer to film and was quickly turned into a critically acclaimed documentary

“I want to get this story out before another young talented musician or artist is doomed to the same destruction,” added director Shauna
Garr.

Garr stated that “1 More Hit” is far from a sad documentary about a drug addict.

According to Garr, the documentary highlights J-Swift’s charismatic personality, as he pursues his family life, raises his children, rebuilds recording career and fights his addiction.

The documentary “1 More Hit” is due to be released digitally on December 5, 2011, to over 16.5 million homes.

Producer Ryan Leslie Sued For $1 Million Over Failed Laptop Reward Payment

(AllHipHop News) A laptop that was stolen and eventually covered for Ryan Leslie may end up costing the producer millions in dollars.

The whole ordeal began in Germany in October of last year, when the Leslie’s laptop was stolen from his Mercedes, while he was traveling in Cologne.

The frantic producer took to Twitter and originally offered a $25,000 dollar reward for the laptop, which contained his latest productions.

According to a lawsuit filed yesterday (October 24) in New York, Armin Augstein claims that Ryan Leslie reneged on his agreement to pay the reward, which was eventually increased to $1 million.

Augstein’s lawyer told The New York Daily News that the lawsuit was the only viable means to make the producer pay.

“It’s unfortunate that my client has to go to such lengths to recover the reward,” Michael Fischman, Augstein’s U.S.-based lawyer told The New York Daily News.

Representatives for Ryan Leslie were not available for comment as of press time

M.O.P. & The Snowgoons Present Fans With Sparta Album Due In November

(AllHipHop News) Babygrande Records is set to the release the upcoming project, Sparta from Brownsville, Brooklyn based M.O.P. and German and Danish production trio The Snowgoons.

The debut single from the collaborative effort is titled “Get Yours” and is the first time M.O.P. and The Snowgoons have released a full length project together.

“We may get some features, but I think M.O.P. on a Snowgoons project and Snowgoons producing a whole project for M.O.P. is enough featuring,” M.O.P.’s Billy Danze said of working with the Snowgoons.

“When you hear this project, you’re going to be satisfied as an M.O.P. fan and a Snowgoons fan. I think you’re going to flip your wig,” he explained. “They’ve got everything… It’s amazing to me because most of the time, producers have a signature sound. These guys already sent me like 50 tracks. They sent me 50 tracks and they’re blazing through and coming from different angles.”

M.O.P. which stands for “Mash Out Posse” and consists of Billy Danze and Lil Fame have shared the mic with industry greats such as Jay-Z, Jadakiss, Styles P, Guru, ODB, Busta Rhymes, and Redman, and have been said to consider this effort “their best project in 10 years.”

“They’ve got everything…they’re blazing through and coming from different angles. These guys providing us with that dramatic sound, with those theatrical sounds, with that hard hip-hop…they supplied us with everything. I’m really psyched about this project,” said Danze.

The Snowgoons made their full-length producer album debut with 2007’s “German Luger.”

To date, the Germany-based production duo, which consists of DJ Illegal and Det, has worked with over 100 underground MC’s to date throughout Europe and the United States.

Artists like Chino XL, Jean Grae, Ill Bill, Vinnie Paz, Boot Camp Clik have benefited from the group’s productions.

Sparta is due in stores on November 22.

Exclusive: Flo Rida Issues Statement Over Australian Tour Incidents

(AllHipHop News) Miami rapper Flo Rida has slammed recent reports about two incidents that occurred during his recent tour of Australia.

First, it was reported that Flo Rida pulled out of the Fat As Butter festival after throwing a “hissy fit” over his accommodations.

Then, it was reported that Flo Rida’s actual hotel room was raided when an associate was arrested on marijuana and minor weapons charges, just before another show at venue Jupiters in Townesville, Australia.

“I didn’t run to the media to discuss a business issue with my tour because I didn’t think that was the appropriate way to handle things,” Flo Rida cooly explained to AllHipHop.com. “Now I’m forced to, because the things that are being said about me are not true.”

Flo Rida stated that contrary to published reports, there was no room provided for the world famous entertainer at The Four Seasons as reported, nor was there transportation to the venue.

He stated that he was late to the Fat As Butter Festival, despite his attempts to take multiple taxicabs in order to make his performance, since he was provided with none.

The rap star ended up missing his performance over the transportation issues, the responsibility of which he placed squarely on the shoulders of the promoters.

As for the incident last night, Flo Rida also denied any involvement.

He stated that his room was never raided in the altercation, which resulted in the arrest of an associate, who was found with 16 grams of weed, scales, a joint and other paraphernalia, in addition to a stun gun.

“I am not a smoker and as a matter of fact, contrary to reports my room was never raided,” Flo Rida told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive statement.

The rapper said he has successfully executed tour dates around the world, with no problems, except for these two dates.

Flo Rida rounded out his Australian tour by performing at Jupiters, which hosted Townsville’s biggest pool party.
