Pitbull: Cuba Libre

José Martí, the “Apostle of Cuban Independence” believed, “Happiness exists on earth, and it is won through prudent exercise of reason, knowledge of the harmony of the universe, and constant practice of generosity.” While the realm of Hip-Hop at times is dominated by materialism or melancholy, Armondo “Pitbull” Perez is the personification of Martí’s belief. This first generation Cuban-American is proud of his heritage and he’s successfully living the American dream. Pittbull’s motto of “patience, passion and perseverance equals success” is the template that’s helped to establish his presence in Hip-Hop.Now Mr.305 is immersing himself in worlds outside of Hip-Hop. Last year his reality show, Pitbull’s: La Esquina, airing on mun2, was the number one rated show on the network. This shrewd businessman, who is known for investing into real estate, is beaming as he obtains oceanfront property for what feels like a steal. Amid the hectic schedule Pitbull founded the non-profit Imaginate Foundation. The nationwide program’s mission is to award scholarships to first, second, and third generation immigrants. As a blessed survivor of TVT Records Pitbull has gone on to establish Mr. 305 Inc. Partnering with The Orchard (a leading digital music distributor) he is set to release his fifth solo album, Rebelution in the summer of 2009. The lead single “Krazy” is causing commotion as zealous fans call (305) 600-3431 in hopes of receiving a return call from Pitbull himself. Now free of his TVT binds, Pitbull is set on keeping his name ringing.AllHipHop.com: You’ve embraced the digital era. What can you tell me about Planetpit.com?Pitbull: Planetpit.com is a social network. On MySpace I got like 600,000 friends. If I create my own social network, I’ll be able to generate my own revenue and get out there. To me it’s just a business move; and at the same time being able to touch my fans. AllHipHop.com: Why did you use the Mike Jones marketing approach, supplying a number for fans to call in and leave “Krazy” messages? Pitbull: The whole thing [is] with Say Now; it’s honestly another way of generating revenue. But, also out of the thousands of calls that I get, I may go back and talk to five or ten of the folks or text them back. If I go back and I speak to ten fans, those ten fans are going to tell another hundred that Pit called last night. It’s a way to interact with the fans. We’re in a world where there’s a lot of technology out here. Fans have to feel like they’re wanted and appreciated. Pitbull f/ Lil Jon “Krazy” VideoAllHipHop.com: A lot of people associate you career with the crunk movement. Are you legally part of TVT Records?Pitbull: I’ve severed all ties with TVT Records. With me it goes to show you might not be treated right but you can fight and get out [of] the company. TVT went bankrupt, everybody is out of there. Lil Jon is out of there, I’m out of there, Ying Yang is out of there. It’s definitely a blessing.AllHipHop.com: You’ve established a firm musical relationship with Lil Jon, yet it was Luther “Uncle Luke” Campbell who initially introduced you to the music business. Pitbull: Luke, that’s my uncle right there. I call it the Luke school of hard knocks. That’s where I learned everything, the basics. When I ran into Lil Jon, Lil Jon taught me how to make records. And when I went to TVT [it] was like my university. It’s all been a learning process. AllHipHop.com: How did you meet Luke?Pitbull: What happened was DMX was doing a video shoot down here with Drag-On in ’98 [or] ’99. I ended up battling Drag-On. Swizz Beatz, Irv Gotti was there, [DMX] was there. Irv Gotti pulled me to the side and asked me a bunch of questions. [This was] before the whole Murder Inc. thing.  The A&R that was working for Luke, Julian Booth, he’s the one that brought me to Luke. When I spit for Luke, I did all that English and the last three lines I did in Spanish. And he was like, “Oh, sh**, you outTa here.” He took me on a 30 city tour. I learned the ropes from him.AllHipHop.com: You have a proven record with your previous three albums. How have you lyrically matured? Pitbull: I’ve been constantly growing. Being with a company like TVT Records, which thank God I’m off of, I wasn’t able to do what I wanted to do. Now it’s different. I’ll be able to release and grow like I’ve been planning. Now I have the opportunity to be on other people’s records. I don’t have to worry about TVT not clearing the record or Mr. Steve Gottlieb looking for a problem. That’s not in the way no more. AllHipHop.com: Nas and Snoop Dogg were some of your early musical influences, have you been able to collaborate with them in any capacity?Pitbull: I’ve met them. I’ve had conversations with them. But, I haven’t had the chance to collaborate with them. When I was at TVT Records I had so many people I could collaborate with. But, when you’re at a label that won’t clear you to do an album with A Janet Jackson record or a Gloria Estefan record, there’s no point of me telling [someone] I want you to jump on, because they [TVT] couldn’t clear it. I didn’t want to waste nobody time. Now you will see different collaborations with a lot of different people. AllHipHop.com: What are your thoughts on ghostwriters and the Hip-Hop artists that utilize them?Pitbull: I don’t knock nobody’s hustle. Everybody out here has ghostwriters. And myself I don’t do a lot of ghostwriting. But I do ghostwrite for a lot of artists. If you got a hit record the public don’t give a  f**k whether someone else wrote it. All they want is good music at the end of the day. AllHipHop.com: Do you think that we demand too much from our Hip-Hop artists, they have to be prison vets, they have to be triple OG….Pitbull: No, I think that’s bulls**t, it’s cool to stay outta jail. I come from the cocaine capital of the United States of America. One year, everyone on their records talking about blow and yay. That’s funny because half of them don’t know what the f**k they’re talking about. The silliest guys out here do s**t because they want to thug; they want to be gangsta. They’re called studio gangstas. And then you get out here in the streets and they can’t hang in the neighborhood. It’s the ones that are quiet, the ones that are polite, the ones that are gentlemen and the ones that be in the streets that you have to watch. And ain’t too many of them in Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop’s all smoke and mirrors. AllHipHop.com: This is a pivotal election year, what are your opinions on the Democratic and Republican candidates for President and Vice President?Pitbull: I’m definitely a fan of Barack Obama. I think he’s young, sharp, motivational, inspirational. He makes you want to be American again; he makes you proud to be American. McCain is pulling some nice stuff especially with the Vice President pick with Palin. It’s like Palin done took over all the media. It was a good move on the Republican side to snatch the media away from Barack Obama. But I’m hoping he will prevail. Because if John McCain gets in office it looks like I’ll be moving to the Dominican Republic. AllHipHop.com: Do you think this was a strategic move by the Republicans to sway some of Hillary’s Clinton’s undecided voters?Pitbull: I think it was a very strategic move on their part. You can’t tell me you’re gonna put a woman in as Vice President who ran a city that only holds 9,000 people. There’s so much inexperience as far as on Palin. Now you got Barack Obama, his running mate is Joe Biden, and he’s got all the experience in the world. He can’t even get news coverage to save his life. AllHipHop.com: If Biden wore a mini-skirt would that get the attention back on the Democratic Party?Pitbull: No, I think if Biden fu**ed Britney Spears. I think that all of the attention would be on him. Unfortunately, that is the way that our society is run. It’s all about gossip. If they found him [in] some sex scandal he would be all over the news. I don’t think Jesus Christ could come down and fix the state of America right now. The people who are dedicated to change can’t get that tube time. That’s the dummy box. Half the sh** on T.V. be bulls**t anyway. That’s it McCain and Palin. AllHipHop.com: Did you help to develop the animated series “Rock, Pepe, Scissors”?Pitbull: Yeah, “Rock, Pepe, Scissors” will be on La Esquina. It’ll be integrated in the show. Sorta like Tracy Ullman brought The Simpsons to her show, that’s how I want what I’m trying to do with “Rock, Pepe, Scissors”. AllHipHop.com: How are the worlds of music and television similar and different?Pitbull: In TV you touch a whole lot more people. They pay a lot more attention to you because they’re watching you. But I think that it’s the same hustle. It’s the same grind you apply whether it be in music or in television to make any project successful. But they’re very different. You’re touching a whole lot more people when you’re on television.AllHipHop.com: Both of your parents are from Cuba, why do you think they had you memorize poetry by José Martí?Pitbull: José Martí to us is like a Martin Luther King, like a John F. Kennedy, like an Elvis. That’s what he meant to Cuba. He was so big. His poems are taught to most of the young Cuban kids out there. My father wanted to empower me as far as keeping me rooted in the culture. My father would have me recite the poems at the bars. That was my father’s doing not my mother’s.AllHipHop.com: How has the relationship you shared with your father affected the one you’ve created with your children?Pitbull: The relationship that I had with my father affected the one with my children in a positive manner. I want to be there for my kids; my father wasn’t really there for me. I try my hardest to be involved with anything that they do. I like the fact that they know that they got a father, that they know that they don’t have to worry about anything. But at the same time; I’m willing to instill what it is to appreciate hard work, and what it is to save money and to work hard for what you got. It definitely helped me out with being a father. AllHipHop.com: Hurricane Ike recently passed over the Gulf Coast, wrecking havoc. But, before that it passed over Haiti and in Cuba, devastating legions of people. There were horrific mudslides. Given your resources do you plan to help those that have been tormented by the storm?Pitbull: Definitely. September 23rd we’re doing a relief concert down here in Miami, in Hialeah [a suburb of Miami]. Me and a couple more artists, we’re doing a relief concert for Cuba and Haiti. As soon as that happened I was on the phone. It may sound f***ed up when I say this, but I’d rather a hurricane hit us than hit Cuba or Haiti. They’re not prepared in no way shape or form to handle that magnitude of that category three or category four. You see what it did as a category two in Galveston, Texas and in Houston. Just imagine what it did to Cuba and we didn’t even see those images like that. And you see what those people are going through right now and they live off of absolutely nothing. So, I’m definitely doing something to help those folks out. AllHipHop.com: Do you have any closing comments?Pitbull: I would like to thank all the fans out there because without them I wouldn’t be able to survive in this game, especially in the situation I was in. To everybody out in Hip-Hop use me as an example. I don’t beef with rappers. But, I fought a company. I took them to bankruptcy and I won the case. Now I’m officially a free agent other than the single I got with The Orchard. It goes to show man, if you play hard and really believe in something you will achieve it.

Rapper Buckshot In Hospital After Seizure Attack

A performance by Brooklyn rap group Black Moon that was slated to take place tonight has been postponed, after lead rapper Buckshot suffered a series of seizures, resulting in his hospitalization.

According to Duck Down co-founder and CEO Dru Ha, the legendary MC was returning home from a European trip, when he suffered from multiple seizures.

The show, which was to feature Black Moon and Smif N Wessun performing cuts from their debut albums Enta Da Stage and Da Shinin backed by a live band, has been rescheduled to November 8.

Duck Down, which is co-owned by Buckshot, recently dropped a free digital mixtape, The Duck Down Hotline.

The 80-minute mixtape features 21 tracks, as well as exclusive interviews with Buckshot, Heltah Skeltah, Kidz in the Hall, Ruste Juxx and DJ Revolution.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Dr. Dre Bumps 50 Cent? 50 Disses Jay? Kanye Vs 50 Cent Part 2? Jay-Z To Sign 50?

DISCLAIMER:

All content within this section is pure rumor and generally have no factual info outside of what the streets have whispered in our ear. Read on.

TODAY’S RUMORS!

DRE DAY IS COMING AGAIN

Hip-Hop is so different now than it was when Dre’s last CD came out. This was 1999, people! But, the truth is we are patiently waiting, like a dope song from 50 Cent! Anyway, from what I am hearing Dr. Dre is going to drop his first single in November and then the album in December. Does that mean 50 Cent is going to get shuffled or something? Anyway, still no mention of Eminem. Bishop Lamont seems to be in great standing still and not facing the Jimmy Iovine chopping block.

KANYE VS 50 CENT IS COMING….

I don’t know for sure, but I am hearing 50 Cent might actually get pushed UP. Why? Dr. Dre! From what I heard, this is going to be 50 Cent’s mass exodus out of the music game. He’s reportedly going to drop one more joint, a greatest hits package. But, I heard Dre isn’t coming off that December date and he owns the month. We’ll see.

OH – BISHOP LAMONT TALKS DETOX!

The rumors are true!

THE UK GOT A NICE TREAT!

You may have read that Busta had some issues with immigrations in the UK. Well, he cleared that up, but the good thing is the UK flew Luda in to replace Busta. THEN Busta got in there and so, London had both artists! That’s great! I’m not sure how it all went down, but I really think it’s great! Busta did miss a lot of press that awaited his presence. Good deal.

JAY-Z TO SIGN 50 CENT AND JANET?

Jay-Z is reportedly looking to sign Janet Jackson and 50 Cent to his new super label. I just don’t see this happening. I feel like 50 Cent is feeling that he can do his own thing his own way. Now, Beyonce that’s another story. I’d say Jay would sign his wife. Janet? That’s up for grabs, because she could probably benefit greatly from the Live Nation business model. We’ll see. I think some slightly younger talent would work better. But younger artists don’t fill stadiums like B, Jay, J and 50.

LEFT EYE’S NEW ALBUM!

Lisa Left Eye Lopes has a new album coming out and it’s called Eye-Legacy! From what I am seeing, this puppy drops this November. I heard it has Tupac Shakur, Lil Mama, Chamillionaire, Missy Elliott, TLC, Wanya Morris of Boyz II Men, Free, Bobby Valentino, and Left Eye’s sister, Reigndrop Lopes on it. Not a great time to release an album from an artist that cannot promote it, but it’s LISA. I love her so I will promote it.

TEVIN CAMPBELL RETURNS!He looks like he’s enjoying life.

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Click here to get the acapella version of Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown.” If you send me some remixes that I can get to easy (like YouTube or something), maybe I will put them in the Producers section.

Michael Jackson is telling people he is going to make an album better than Thriller. Whatever dude.

Quincy Jones has reportedly turned Michael down. He’s not interested in doing another Thriller. He is interesting in working on a new compilation album with new talent.

Jay-Z is reportedly trying to do a remix to “Swagga Like Us” with Jeezy, Andre 3000, Nas and 50?

Rumors are floating that Rihanna and Chris Brown are over. I hope Brown boy doesn’t mess this up.

Washington Mutual (WaMu) is GONE. That’s Bush. You go and vote for Bush3 if you want to.Click here to see Barack Obama dance on Soul Train back in the day!

DAVID LETTERMAN GOES IN ON MCCAIN….WHEW!Dave went off like The Biz!

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

George Fox University is a university. A university is an institution of higher learning. However, GFU might be a school of lower learning. Why? The small institution is in Oregon and was founded by Quakers. But, that’s not why it may be an institution of lower education. A group of students decided to let the campus know where they stand on Barack Obama specifically and Black people in general. The students staged a mock lynching of Barack by using a cardboard figure of his likeness. A sign on the “Barack” said, “Act Six reject.” Act Six is a scholarship program that offers low-income and/or minority students scholarships to colleges in the Northwest region of the United States.

It’s wild how Barack has to act like there is no racism and cannot really address it so that it doesn’t inflame White people. BUT, I can address it! Re-read my editorial, “THEY LIVE!”

One finger on Barack and…WE RIDING!

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END – PART 2

Imagine getting arrested for drunk driving and you want to get back at the cops. You have nothing…then you think. I DO HAVE A WEAPON… YOU FART. You fart at the cops…and they charge you with battery. LMAO…click here to read the entire crazy story “Arrested For Farting At A Cop!!”

Here is one more Man Rapes A Women In A Coma!

EPIC FAIL OF THE DAY

This was in the rumors earlier this year, but this was an Epic Fail before there was an Epic Fail.

NEW G-DEP! “Stay Up”

LADY DRAMA’S RUMORS AND GOSSIP

50 says It’s not the Clothes who made the man it’s… Beyonce?

50 Cent has been quoted saying Beyonce is who made Jay-Z such a hot commodity in the entertainment industry! Check this out:

“I’m a big fan of Jay-Z, but outside of the States and hip hop circles, no one really knew who he was until he married Beyonce’. The G-Unit rapper has also disputed reports that Jay-Z is worth an estimated $1 billion, but is adamant he’s not jealous of his fortune. He adds, “I don’t believe he’s worth that much! It’s all been exaggerated. I’m comfortable. I don’t want for anything so I’m not in a race.”

Now 50 tell us something we don’t know! I’ve been saying this since the duo emerged… but of course when I said it, ‘I was Hating’!

Moving along… Speaking of Jay he was featured in the current issue of Time Out New York for a feature in which they interview 40 New Yorkers. During the interview he got candid about one of his favorite New York moments, which was the Diana Ross Concert in Central Park! You’ve got to read this:

Jay-Z: Yeah, I had hormones. I thought she was fantastic. Her hair was blowing. The rain was hitting her face, and her outfit was, well—It was working for me. And she really braved it out, still trying to go in a torrential rainstorm. I don’t know who said “run,” but everyone started running. I don’t even know—me and my friend. I don’t know what two guys were doing at a Diana Ross concert, but [Laughs] anyway, I think we was already in the city, okay? We slid, got up and kept running to the train.

Let me find out maybe that’s why he’s so sprung on B huh?

Amy Winehouse is at it again! As if it couldn’t get worse!

Illseed isn’t the only Amy Winehouse fan out there, I love her music as well! What I don’t like is her wild outlandish behavior. The Mirror a British tabloid for those who don’t know is reporting that Amy returned some designer clothes with vomit stains on them! Peep this:

She’s landed herself with a massive £25,000 bill after borrowing posh designer frocks – and returning them with her own unique calling card… splattered with vomit. Even worse, when the Back To Black singer finally returned the puke-stained outfits, her little deposits had green, furry mould growing on them. Revolting! Unsurprisingly, 25-year-old Amy has now been blacklisted by furious fashion PRs and shouldn’t expect any loans or freebies for a while.

Just when I thought she couldn’t get any grimier… she outdoes herself once again! If she just drops another dope album all will be forgiven on my end! How bout you Ill?  [Illseed note: uhhh…I think so.]

Friday Funnies…

So folks I decided we all go through enough s**t during the week, why shouldn’t you be able to come to the rumors page and let it all hang out! So my first installment in my Fridays Funnies showcase is from Jamie Foxx’s stand up show Straight from the Foxxhole … Enjoy and hopefully it will help you get through your Friday at work 😉

Lady Drama’s Food For Thought…

So basically McCain can’t prepare for a debate and handle an economic crisis… but yet someone thought he could run a country… Damn and I thought the Bush camp was stupid!

Word is Beyonce has a $1 million wig collection! I don’t know about y’all ladies but that must be a hell of a lace front at that price!

Queen Latifah was spotted rolling in a hard top Rolls Royce with Obama stickers on it… Now that’s campaigning!

Love me or Leave me alone… or if you see me in Newark Airport on Sat. say what’s up cause I’m outta NJ and headed to LAX 😉

ILLSEED’S GIRL SHELZ’S RUMORS!

Plaxico Burress Administers the Rule of Thumb… Or is it the Other Way Around?

Back in the olden days, the rule of thumb was a suggestion that a man not beat his wife with anything thicker than his thumb. Maybe anything larger would leave evidence and we all know the wifey isn’t presentable with a knot on her head. But anywho, Mr. Burress has been suspended for one game next month for playing hookey from practice. Some have suggested his absence was due to family issues; primarily of the restraining order variety. The cops have been called to the abode more than once, but during one visit the po po was told that his wife was the aggressor. Hope him and the misses can get it together. He’s on my fantasy football roster.

Jay-Z Put in Time Out…

Time Out Mag has this interview of Hov floating around right now. It’s a real la-te-da kinda piece in which Jay speaks in French, talks about his favorite introspective actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman and says going to Diana Ross’ concert in Central Park was one of his greatest experiences ever. But then the interviewer asks him about Nas. I really didn’t like this shot.

You’re the only rapper on this list. We were considering Nas but have this 13-year rule: People on this list had to have had an impact in the last 13 years. And Illmatic was 1994. Should we have included him?

Jay-Z: Ah, wow! [Laughs] That’s a tough question. [Pauses] Yeah, only because of the impact of that album, when it’s considered one of the best albums ever created, you have to document that.

Back handed way to get Hov to call Nas irrelevant? Maybe I’m just being pissy. But I read somewhere else, BET I think, that there is supposed to be a Swagga Like Us remix for Blueprint 3. There were some names tossed around like Jezzy, 50 and that irrelevant ass Nas. [Illseed note: I didn’t see anything wrong here, Shelz, but the interviewer was egging him on.]

Liza Rios Goes in on Fat Joe.

The widow of Pig Pun, Liza Rios, was interviewed by Forbez and I’d say a good half of her interview was her explaining what a shyster Fat Joe is. Ms. Rios suggested that Pun has only received one royalty check and that was after his death. She also said Fat Joe wants people to forget about Pun and his legacy and money from several sources that was supposed to be for Pun’s kids was never given to her. She just made Joey Crack sound really bad. And then at the end of the interview she said she totally had no issue with him. Hmmmm… I still can’t get over the fact that she was sitting next to Puns urn during the interview. Those things give me a serious case of the creepies. Rest in peace, Big P. [Ed. note: Joe Crack bigged up Pun when AHH interviewed him. BX!]

Just in Case You Were Worried.

Yesterday morning it did appear as if Busta Rhymes was going to be starring in the Hip-Hop version of The Terminal over in Great Brittan. He was being detained by the Queen’s po po because of his criminal record. However, sensible heads prevailed and Mr. Rhymes was granted entry into the city so he can perform at a charity concert. Maybe Russell Crowe wrote him a letter too.

What day is it folk? Friiii daaaay! Take me out with the fadaaaaaaa!

ICE CUBE – “WHY ME”

This is a powerful video. I’m glad to see the old school cats representing as leaders. Let’s get back to Hip-Hop!

ALLHIPHOP’S SOCIAL LOUNGE WAS GREAT!

Check out some of the pictures. Shout out to Newark Mayor Corey Booker, Michaela Angela Davis, Camp Lo, Q-Tip, Killer Mike and Dr. Michael Eric Dyson! Here are a few pics:

DID KILLER MIKE GET SWAGGER JACKED?

I’m not sure, but It seems like Killer Mike has been getting swagger jacked a lil’ bit. I won’t say cats straight bit, but it seems odd. See the images.

PEACE, WE LOVE YOU!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

AHH Stray News: Judge Frees Busta Rhymes From UK Detention

A judge in the British High Court has ordered the immediate release of Busta Rhymes from his detention by UK immigrant officials. The New York MC was barred from entering the country earlier today because of his previous criminal record and accusations that his work permit was not valid. According to the judge, the rapper’s work permit was in order and there were no grounds to detain him. Rhymes is scheduled to participate in a charity concert for 5,000 young volunteers at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday along with Ludacris, who was added to the bill as backup.

Kardinal Offishall: Not 4 Sale (Album Review)

After much underground hype and very little impact left on the United States, Canadian native Kardinal Offishall has finally broke onto the pop charts with Not 4 Sale (Kon Live/Geffen Records). Kardinal may not be for sale, but he and Akon’s production crew spent their money wisely when it came to stacking Not 4 Sale with big name collaborations. Kardinal’s Reggae and Dancehall influenced Rap is combined with everything from Motown to R&B giving Not 4 Sale chart topping possibilities.

The already popular “Dangerous” teams Kardinal and Akon up for the perfect recipe to be a club hit. However other collaborations like “Numba 1” featuring Rihanna put Kardinal in the back seat while the current princess of R&B steals the spotlight.

Kardinal steps outside of his comfort zone to show a more conscious side on the J. Davey assisted “Digital Motown” (“The ghetto youths are suffering / They need a fun day / I’m bleeding to see you succeeding one day”). Unfortunately, his moment of seriousness is easily dismissed due to the hyped up, party song production courtesy of Jake One. Fortunately, “Gimme Some” featuring The Dream and “Set It Off” featuring The Clipse bring things back to a more enjoyable pace.

Kardi finally gets the chance to showcase his true Reggae roots on “Due Me A Favour”. Mixing his Dancehall delivery with the soulful voice of Estelle, the track provides a glimpse into man’s everyday struggles and Kardinal’s holy side: “It’s like speeding down the highway with a blindfold on / No hands on the wheel hoping God will lead me my way / And I know He will or so my grandma say”.

Kardinal’s got the Reggae flow on lock down for most of the disc, but Akon’s notoriety for creating chart toppers is a recipe that doesn’t necessarily fit for Kardinal. In the process of making music that will guarantee revenue, Kardinal’s talent as a rapper is lost amongst Not 4 Sale’s commercial make up. A few tracks do stand out proving his reign as an underground king was no fluke, but the radio friendly appeal leaves this effort heavily discounted on Kardinal Offishall’s true star power.

Kanye Shuffles Release Date; Avoids Showdown With 50

A second showdown between rappers Kanye West and 50 Cent will not take place.

The rapper/producer’s album was originally slated to hit stores in December, the same month 50 Cent is set to release his upcoming album, Before I Self Destruct.

The change of plans was revealed yesterday (Sept. 24) on West’s blog on his official web site, KanyeUniverseCity.com.

West cited a desire for fans to hear his forthcoming album, 808s and Heartbreak “as soon as possible” as the reason for moving the project’s release date up to November.

“I changed my album to November something cause I finished the album and I felt like it..I want yall to hear it as soon as possible,” the entertainer blogged.

The new release date eliminates the possibility of West squaring off against 50 Cent in a battle for the most first week album sales of their respective releases.

West bested the Queens, NY emcee last year in their first ever match up when his album Graduation sold more copies than 50 Cent’s Curtis.

According to reports, West sold 957,000 copies, while 50 Cent moved 691,000 copies during their first week of release after hitting stores the same day on Sept. 11, 2007.

Although West has not locked in a specific November release date for 808s and Heartbreak, 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct is scheduled to arrive in stores on Dec. 9.

ALBUM REVIEW: Jazmine Sullivan – Fearless

It would be hard to blame those

who haven’t paid Jazmine Sullivan much attention so far. Most R&B

chicks end up on a milk carton before the second single drops, and it

isn’t always easy to tell which ones we should get too attached to.

Sullivan, however, actually deserves the second glance that most of

her peers do not, as Fearless

offers more than just “Need U Bad.”

To address the topic on everyone’s

mind, yes, Jazmine Sullivan sounds like Lauryn Hill. A lot. There’s

an unavoidable similarity in her tone and phrasing, not to mention a

stray Rza jack on “My Foolish Heart” (see also: “Ex-Factor”).

It’s entirely possible that this isn’t intentional, but it would

be easier to overlook the comparison if it didn’t open the door to

so many others.

Elsewhere, Sullivan deliberately

invokes Stevie Wonder (on “Fear,” which is nevertheless excellent),

accidentally invokes Amy Winehouse (on “Switch,” which definitely

is not) and samples Daft Punk (on “Dream Big,” which is kind of

in the middle). In these moments – and a few others we won’t continue

to list – Jazmine does herself a disservice by couching so much of

her persona in the work of other legendary artists.

Everyone steals, but it’s

a little more disappointing in Fearless because Sullivan really

doesn’t need to. “Lions, Tigers & Bears” is a star-maker and

even at her least interesting moments (“After the Hurricane”), she’s

at least competent. Even if her voice is reminiscent of someone else’s,

she is one of the strongest singers to come along as of late.

Jazmine folds quite a bit of

emotion into her vocals, and when she sings, she sounds like she means

it. The believability of her sentiment is further assisted by Sullivan’s

songwriting abilities, covering everything from infidelity (“In Love With Another Man”) to murdering an abusive boyfriend (“Call Me Guilty”). She’s frequently clever and occasionally funny

without being too over the top. The varied production doesn’t always live

up to the task of supporting her lyrics and vocals, but when things

come together well, the results are favorable.

Once Sullivan finds the confidence

to be her own woman, she very well may become a mainstay. To make that

happen though, she’ll need to find the right producer to help focus

her talent and stop wandering the streets with a potato sack accepting

beats from whoever will donate them. Fearless isn’t the classic

album that she may eventually deliver, but it at least proves that she

deserves the chance to make it.Fear – Jazmine Sullivan

BREEDING GROUND: State Property Delivers,EPMD Gets Busy, Underground Shines

New York’s legendary

S.O.B.’s was the spot and AllHipHop’s Breeding Ground Showcase was the event

Tuesday night as some of the hungriest up and coming acts in Hip-Hop got

together with EPMD and a reunited State Property combined to make history.

After the first couple

artist got minimal response, the first rise of the night came from group Sic

Osyrus. The hype man certainly earned his check.  Solid production and good stage energy even though his steeze with bleached out jeans and Reebok classics was kinda meh. With

a stylist some work and good production he could make some noise.

Next notable artist was Tabi

Bonney straight from West Africa by way of

DC.  He had definite charisma even

thought his songs had few words. 808 heavy retro 80’s beats.  Floating phrases a la the Beasties/ DMC

style. He’s got a buzz from his joint “Put Me In Your Pockt” tht the crowd

responded to well.

Representing the West Coast

was Ya Boy who cocked over Dre’s “Keep Your Heads Ringing” to get over the

crowd’s non familiarity.  He dropped his

song “Floss” which was also bass heavy.

Not spectacular but enough to keep the bounce.  Production seemed to be the real difference

in crowd response up to this point.

Underground femme fatale Nina

B was the first surprise of the night, easily blowing everyone before her off

the stage with an a capela when they couldn’t find her music.  After that she did about as well as a non

star could do with breath control, stage presence, and clear lyrics. Nice flow,

no gratuitous tough talk.  She rapped

over “I Get money” which is almost impossible to be wack to, but then gave the

80’s grownups some brain freeze by killing it over Madonna’s “Material Girl.”

Some guy in the front is a lil too excited but hey, rock out. Pleasant

surprise.

Next up was Skyzoo, who has

been killing the underground lyrically in recent months. Rhymed over a medley

of old bangers from the 80’s as well.

When he did rhyme he looked very polished and he had good crowd

control.  His stage show was uneven

though, as he spent a lot of time talking while beats played.  Had he rapped more he certainly had the crowd

with him and he looks like he can go in this game.

Veteran Sha Stimuli stepped

to the stage with a freestyle to die for with a alphabet song. Illness. He’s got

a ton of talent and skill.  He’s

certainly got charisma and presence, but you can’t put your finger on why he’s

not on that next level but he’s clearly polished as a performer.  His show gained strength the longer he was on

stage and culminated with a furious burst that brought the crowd to frenzy. If

you don’t know about this guy then please get familiar.

The undercard

was EPMD.  No matter how many times you

see them they are very dependable.  They

WILL rip.  They mainly stayed to the

first two albums, probably due to the absence of DJ Scratch.  I can’t lie, even though their show DJ was

adequate, it’s very strange seeing them rock without Scratch. Hope they work it

out.  Keith Murray showed up for a crowd

pleasing rendition of “Most Beautifullest Thing,” and the stage was set for

history.

 The Dynasty is

dead, regardless of what Jay-z says.  The

reason for that is because the State Prop part of the Roc was not together

anymore.  AllHipHop put the hammer down

and got the bulk of them (sans Neef and Oschino) back together with a bit of

Peedi Crack on top.  They looked like

they never missed a beat.  Passing the

mics back and forth with ease like they’d been practicing 5 Heartbeats style.

What was so

ill was that they didn’t depend on Free and Beans to bring the heat, they all

went in. I can admit I was a Peedi doubter but he got it off.  So did young Chris (conspicuously the only

one still wearing the Roc chain) and Sparks.  No forgotten lyrics, no miscues and fluid transition.  These guys are professional, don’t try this

at home.  After sitting through so many

acts you would expect audience fatigue but there was none to be found. Philly

was in the building and the Prop didn’t need the ROC to Rock. ‘Nuff Said.

Shout to all

the performers, shout to the fans for supporting, shout to the AllHipHop staff,

shout to Syn City, Hot 97’s DJ Envy for hosting, and peace to S.O.B.’s one of

the true Hip-Hop venues who support the culture implicitly.

Busta Rhymes Denied Entry Into The UK

Hip-Hop star Busta Rhymes is being held by officials in the United Kingdom, after he was refused entry into the country today (September 25).

The 36-year-old rapper was arrested at London’s City Airport due to his criminal record in the United States. Rhymes, born Trevor Smith, had previously traveled to London on August 17, where he picked up litter on behalf of RockCorps.

According to reports, officials attempted to send Rhymes to Amsterdam, but his lawyer intervened.

As of press time, Rhymes is being held while Immigration Officials decided whether or not he will be allowed entry into the country to perform a benefit show for Orange RockCorps at Royal Albert Hall in London.

“He is just waiting on his Visa right now,” Rhymes’ manager Chris Lighty told AllHipHop.com.

Atlanta rapper Ludacris is being flown to the UK as a last minute replacement for Rhymes, who was due to appear on a bill that features John Legend, Feeder, The Automatic and Guillemots.

“He has the necessary work-permit and has been in the country twice already this year, so we’re a little puzzled that a question mark is now being placed over his ability to enter the country to perform to volunteers…he is currently detained pending a decision on temporary admission by the immigration officer…documents are being prepared to apply for judicial review as early as possible today.”

Over 5,000 fans, who earned their tickets by doing community service, are expected to attend the concert.

Ed McMahon Preps Debut as Rapper

Former Tonight Show sidekick Ed McMahon is set to debut next month in his most unlikely job yet; an 85-year-old rapper.

The former American Family Publishing sweepstakes spokesman will star in two viral rap videos for freecreditreport.com, a web site operated by the credit bureau Experian.

The videos feature McMahon rhyming heartfelt lyrics about his recent financial woes, while riding shotgun in a Cadillac Escalade golf cart around Los Angeles.

A tongue in cheek McMahon explained that he surprised himself with the skills he showed behind the mic.

After spending an entire day in the studio coming up with the lyrics and practicing his flow, the entertainment veteran felt comfortable releasing the work to the public.

“I knew I could sing the blues,” McMahon stated. “But I didn’t know I could rap,” McMahon told Fox News.

Hoping to inspire viewers to learn from his financial mistakes, McMahon’s bars focus on knowing your financial limits and the dangers of excess.

“When I retired I was famous,” McMahon spits. “I had money and glory/ I bought a house for 6 mill/ I thought nothing could touch me/ Until my credit went south, and debt started to crunch me/ Next thing I know, instead of playing gin rummy/ I was scrambling just to make end meet/ It wasn’t funny.”

The first video features McMahon and a bodyguard looking for previous winners of the American Family Publishing sweepstakes to ask for some of the money back, with McMahon deciding in the end not to go through with it.

The second showcases the former pitchman undergoing a financial makeover and acquiring a new suit.

In June Ed McMahon was in danger of losing his home to foreclosure after falling behind $644,000.

In August, he agreed to sell the property to a private buyer.

In regards to possible plans to record a full length album, McMahon would only state “not immediately.”

The two viral videos are set to appear online in October.

Ludacris’ Atlanta House Catches On Fire

A fire broke out at award-winning rapper/actor Ludacris’ home just South of Atlanta Wednesday night, AllHipHop.com has learned.

The fire, described by authorities as a “significant fire,” destroyed the residence’s pool house, but did not affect the main structure on the property.

The fire left some property damage but no injuries.

According to Fulton County Fire Department spokesman Gregory Chambers, the fire was first reported by a neighbor, even before the alarm system at the home was triggered.

Authorities arrived at the scene on DeMooney Road near College Park around 11:30pm and were able to put out the fire within 30 minutes.

Ludacris was in New York at the time of the fire, where he is scheduled to host a private “screening” for his forthcoming album Theater of the Mind, which hits stores November 11.

A male relative was in the main house’s basement, but was not injured.

At press time, authorities were still attempting to identify the cause of the fire.

Dollicia Bryant: Vixens Killed the Video Star

It would seem that ever since Karrine Steffans’ Confessions Of A Video Vixen hit bookshelves, girls appearing in music videos everywhere had some serious explaining to do. With the perception of most being that listing “video girl” as an occupation was less than honorable, the difficulty in going from music video starlet to legitimate actress or entertainer multiplied exponentially. Enter Dollicia Bryant. Many know her from her numerous appearances in music videos from a handful of popular artists, most recently being the yet unreleased “Love Lockdown” video from Kanye West. But if Dollicia has her way in the coming years, many will see her as a smart, sexy businesswoman with bona fide talent as an actress. We got a chance to catch up with the budding star to chat about a little bit of everything.AllHipHop.com Alternatives: For some of our readers who may not be familiar with you, run down the videos you have been in and how you started.Dollicia Bryant: I started off actually in Portland, OR. Rasheed Wallace and his cousin from Philly had a Hip-Hop show on Sundays. They asked me to be a part of it. So it started with me just interviewing Hip-Hop heads or any big celebrities that came into town. And after a while, people were just telling me that I should stop being behind the mic at the radio station and start doing bigger things. So I actually ventured off to LA and one of the first people that gave me one of the big numbers that I needed to do that was Pharrell. I actually hooked up with Diane Martel and did one of my first videos. Then I just kind of chilled out for a bit. I ended up getting back involved by doing a favor for a friend. They had a dilemma, because Joe had this video and they needed someone with some acting skills as well as sex appeal and the woman that actually got the job, her hair caught on fire. [laughs] So they were kind of in a dilemma. So they ended up asking me to do the video. And ever since then, I’ve been getting non-stop calls to do videos. That was like a year and a half ago.AHHA: Is there any particular reason why you opt not to get too revealing in the music videos you have appeared in?Dollicia: It’s just that I’m trying to cross over into a different field as far as acting. So I don’t want on my resume for anybody to see lots of scandalous pictures of me in thongs. I don’t do anything in thongs. I’m crossing over. There are a lot of things that the urban market might not see that I’m trying to do. And I’m not trying to ruin my opportunities by being completely naked.AHHA: Now you have done your fair share of music videos. And in a lot of different news bits I’ve seen, you’ve been referred to as a “video girl.” The phrase “video girl” has grown to have such a negative connotation. Do you have an objection to being referred to as that?Dollicia: Yeah, I’m not happy about it, because I’ve done some movies and commercials. I don’t like the fact that people try pigeon-hole me based on the videos that I’ve done because that’s the only thing they’ve seen. But hey if you remember me from a video, I’m not going to knock it. That name just got bad when it was a time when there were big budgets for videos and music was just making big money and there were girls getting paid $10,000 to be on a video set. And they were popping bottles and smoking weed and stuff, but that was back in the day. Now, the music industry is not making money. So those videos are not big budget anymore. There are very small budgets and the director has to get in and out. So there’s no more liquor and popping bottles on video sets anymore; it’s just work.AHHA: Now your name has been mentioned in relation to a lot of different male artists and actors. So what I’m going to do is throw out some names of people you’ve been linked to and give you an opportunity to speak on some rumors. Bow Wow.Dollicia: That’s not true.AHHA: Jamie FoxxDollicia: That’s not true at all. I’m blessed to have people that will pull me to the side and give me advice on how to further my career and that’s the only thing [Jamie Foxx] has ever done for me. People just see pictures and they are like, “Oh he must be trying to have sex with her.” And it was nothing like that. And the people that work with him, they work with me as well. So they see us at a lot of the same events and people just ran with it.AHHA: Would you even be open to dating anyone in the industry?Dollicia: I want to say no. [laughs]AHHA: That being said what attracts you to a guy?Dollicia: Just somebody that’s positive, that has a sense of humor, and has a good relationship with their family.AHHA: From talking to you, you seem to be the opposite of the “video girl” stereotype. It seems like now every girl that’s in a video, people are like oh she must be a ho. Why do you think it has gotten that bad?Dollicia: Over time girls started wearing less and less clothes. The clothes started looking a lot more stripperish. People started hearing stories about girls getting intoxicated and things happening. And then people hear “video vixen” and then automatically connect it to the book. So it just became such a bad thing.AHHA: Do you feel like you have ever been disrespected on a video set? Has anyone ever said or done anything to you that you felt was out of line?Dollicia: No, I haven’t at all. I have never had anyone come at me foul.AHHA: Where can fans hit you up?Dollicia: They can write me at http://www.myspace.com/dollicia1 Exclusive photos from Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown” video shoot starring Dollicia Bryant:

Hip-Hop Stars to Honor Pioneer Executive Sylvia Rhone

Universal Music Group president Sylvia Rhone is set to be honored next month for her decades of pioneering work in African-American music.

Organized by the non-profit Black Women in Entertainment Law (BWEL) foundation, the October 1 event will double as fundraiser for scholarship initiatives directed at empowering young women seeking to aspire to executive positions in entertainment.

The ceremony will bestow Rhone with the “Excellence in Business” Award for breaking down many barriers for women of color in the industry.

Confirmed guests for the event include Queen Latifah, Sean “Diddy” Q-Tip, Russell Simmons, Naomi Campbell, and Missy Elliott with more to be announced.

Rhone began her career in 1974 with Buddha Records (originally spelled Buddah), notable for housing Gladys Knight and the Pips, Barbara Mason and others.

She advanced to senior vice president of Atlantic Records by 1988, continuing to expand each record company she worked with.

Rhone went on to become the first African-American woman to helm a major record company when she took over Eastwest Record in 1990, former home to En Vogue, MC Lyte, Gerald Levert, De Lench Mob, and Das Efx.

In 1994, she merged her organization with Elektra Records, taking on a diverse catalogue of artists including Metallica, Yolanda Adams, Missy Elliott, and Fabolous.

Rhone held that CEO position until 2004; when she moved on to accept her current position as president of Universal Motown Records, now overseeing music from Lil Wayne, Erykah Badu, Damian Marley, Kem, India Arie and now the labels most recent signing – Busta Rhymes.

The award ceremony will start at 7 PM at The Talavera Gallery, located on 145 Avenue of the Americas in New York, NY.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Oasis Disses Jay-Z AGAIN? Riders Ride For Ross! Mya Does New CD In Japanese?

DISCLAIMER:

All content within this section is pure rumor and generally have no factual info outside of what the streets have whispered in our ear. Read on.

TODAY’S RUMORS!

MYA – OFF TO JAPAN!

What do illseed and Maino have in common? We both have a thing for Mya (See: Mya dedication)! Well, I liked her before he did, but that’s nothing. He’ll probably go to Japan with her! You heard it here first and if you care, consider this an exclusive! Mya is reportedly recording an album in Japanese! That’s right. The singer has had her troubles here stateside and has likely gotten fed up! So, she’s rumored to be doing this album in all Japanese to appeal to a different market that will hopefully appreciate her more. Sources have revealed to me that she is about to start the final mastering of the album. I’ll cop!STOP WITH THE RICK ROSS STUFF!

Rick Ross has pumped out music pretty steadily, but he

hasn’t done a lot of interviews. But, I heard he performed at a club

called 112 down in Miami Gardens. Well, I heard it didn’t go well. It

seems some dudes thought it was a good idea to call Ross names related

to being an authority of the state. They also reportedly tossed items

on stage from the VIP area of the club. Well, there were others in that

room that didn’t take kindly to those names and they lashed out. When

the two factions clashed, a huge brawl reportedly broke out.

Fortunately, Ross wasn’t included in the melee and got out ok.

HIS HAT KEPT SPINNING – KESAN SUCKER PUNCHES E6

Fonzworth Bentley has a crazy show on reality TV, right – G’s To Gents? And so the show tried to get the guys back together for a reunion show or something. Here is the descrption of the video:

Gs cast members were being interviewed backstage for IAmOnMTV.com prior to the taping of the Reunion Special. Security guards were already on high alert with Kesan, since he was the guy who left the show for having a bad temper — they had him quarantined in his own room. But when producers allowed Kesan to go out in the hall for better cell phone reception — and consequently overheard E6 rhymin and hatin — Kesans sh*t hit E6s fan. And really hard.

At the end of the day, a sucker punch is an eternal act of a coward, but that was crazy. E6 let it go and remained a gent when Fonzworth got them together. I’m sorry. It would be on ON SIGHT. WOW.

WHY DO YOU WANT ANOTHER KANYE VS 50?

I don’t! That was last year and there are no rematches in this battle! Here is what Kanye said on his blog.

I CHANGED MY ALBUM TO NOVEMBER SOMETHING CAUSE I FINISHED THE ALBUM AND I FELT LIKE IT.. I WANT YALL TO HEAR IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Some have suggested that 50 Cent will move his date as well, but I don’t think so. Remember how Nas did Jay-Z after he dropped “Ether?” Nuff said.

JD PARTIED FOR HIS B-DAY!

This was on the rumors yesterday, but since Drama was on it, I can repeat it. The other day, JD celebrated his __ birthday. I don’t know how old dude is, but he’s survived about three recessions and the kids that used to rap for him or with him are about to have some kids. Anyway, I heard attendees included Fabolous, Red Café, Ice-T, and Coco, DJ Envy Halle Berry and more! Sigh…I wasn’t invited.

OASIS DISSES JAY-Z!!!!!

I know Jay is gonna come back on them with some real heat! Just in time for BP3! Turn to 2:37 in the vide…Oasis actually raps against Hov! LMAO!

TRAVIS BARKER SAVED DJ AM…AND HIMSELF

I am not certain this is factual.

With that said, here is the latest on these two lucky guys. Rumor has it, DJ Am is communicating with people by texting them. I am not sure if he has gotten the rumors going or what. But I heard that Travis Barker saved his friend. Apparently, he saw the back of the plane explode into flames, killing their friends. He then, shoved the door open and grabbed DJ AM. At this point the plane was still moving.

I am certain this is factual. People magazine talked to a cop that revealed how Travis Barker and DJ AM survived a terrible plane crash.

“[Travis and Adam] told me that they slid down the wing on the right side of the plane,” Lieut. Josh Shumpert of the South Congaree Police Department tells PEOPLE. Shumpert was one of the second responders at the scene – Congaree is the town outside of Columbia, S.C. – after the airport police arrived.

“They said they were on fire,” adds Shumpert, whose patrol car’s dashboard camera caught video of the fiery aftermath, “and that they tackled each other and put each other out.”

“When I got there they were on the side of the road,” says Shumpert. “They were pacing and in shock.”

“Travis was very shaken up,” he says, noting that Barker was given Gatorade after he asked for some water.

According to the lieutenant, the pair weren’t naked, contrary to eyewitness statements.

“Travis was wearing some kind of shorts and no shirt,” says Shumpert, adding that Goldstein was wearing shorts or boxers as well. “Travis had one sock on. And a black hat on his head.”

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

YO! The North Carolina Democratic Party has shot down the notion that you cannot wear Obama (or McCain) gear to the polls when you vote. McCain – step up and debate! Stop doing your tricks! Thanks, Tori, but people should check the laws in their state! They vary, from what I understand.

If you don’t register to vote, I am going to beat you up! If you are in the Atlanta area, click this link!

Bishop Lamont has reportedly shot down rumors that he’s been dropped. They’re just rumors!

T.I.’s Grand Hustle is now managing Big Boi of OutKast. Dat don’t sound right.

Click here to see Kanye and Rhymefest’s new TV show. I think its funny.

I can’t tell you…how good it feels to hear rappers like Heltah Skeltah, Stimuli, Nina B, Peedi Crack, EPMD, Freeway, Skyzoo, Torae, Bun B, Raw LT, Beans and others DUMB OUT in the name of HIP-HOP…I’m LOVING where I see things going with Hip-Hop. I just thought I’d issue that PSA. Go to the Media Zone for most of these acts and many more.

RANDOM QUOTES

David Letterman on McCain canceling the debate:

“You don’t suspend your campaign. This doesn’t smell right. This isn’t the way a tested hero behaves. I think someone’s putting something in his metamucil. He can’t run the campaign because the economy is cratering? Fine, put in your second string quarterback, Sara Palin. Where is she? What are you going to do if you’re elected and things get tough? Suspend being president? We’ve got a guy like that now!”

People magazine on Clay Aiken:

Inspired by his newborn son, the singer acknowledges what has long been rumored: He’s gay. [Illseed note: NO S**T!]

Clay Aiken on Clay Aiken [People]:

“It was the first decision I made as a father. I cannot raise a child to lie or to hide things. I wasn’t raised that way, and I’m not going to raise a child to do that.”

Good for you Ne-Yo:

“People feel that because I’m a fully functional adult and not a heroin addict, I won’t sell magazines. Everybody wants me to be the guy sleeping with every celebrity woman in this industry. Everyone wants me to be this guy in the club, popping 17 bottles. Everybody wants me to be Diddy, but that’s not me.”

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

PA is serious about those guns, eh? I mean several cops have been shot and the gun violence in our communities is off the chain, especially in Philly. But this here takes the cake. When I think of a school shooting, I think of some confused suburban kid that’s tired of getting bullied. In this case, the boy’s mother helped him get his guns together to blast some bullies. The boy –from Norristown, PA- reportedly idolized the Columbine High School. His 46-year-old mother bought the boy several guns and accessories like laser scopes and stuff. The crazy thing is, the kid was being homeschooled and wanted revenge on some former classmates that had bullied him in his last school. He harbored some much anger and resentment that he took up arms. Sort of like rappers on youtube, he let his intentions be known via the internet. The mother must have related to her sun, because she was also obese and teased as a child. Nothing happened though. Somebody the boy recruited told the police of his plans.

EPIC FAIL OF THE DAY

This is so funny, but the dude that recorded this would be getting a royal a** kicking like never before!

MY GIRL SHELZ – KICK THOSE RUMORS

Let’s Get Ready To Rumble!

Lady Luck and Rece Steele go at it with the dudes in the background looking real shook. Hell, the folk in charge over at the World Series of Hip Hop might need to make this a cage match with Lady Luck’s Pink Hatter and Rece’s resident co-signer, Pocahontas Jenkins, on the under card. I’m gonna need chicas to get their a#### whopped after the show, not before. Taking the stage with a black eye and a bloody nose is not a good look. Just ask Mike Jones.

Would the Panties Have Really Made a Difference?

She was naked. Then she wasn’t. Then she was naked and then she damn wasn’t. The issue has only been out for like 6 years. Enough already. Now Ciara is confirming that she was a little miffed by her nakedness because she showed up with a pair of panties on and the folk at Vibe made them go poof. The folks at Vibe are saying they will post the untouched shots so we can see what Ciara is making a stink over. This is not a good thing. There is no telling what else was airbrushed out of those shots. Does she really want the public to see her photos undone over what probably amounts to a piece of material a square inch in size? I’ll bet you Vibe wishes they had just put Robin Thicke on the cover now.

New Yorkers…. He’s baaaack.

Stephon Marbury aint going nowhere! That will be all.

One more thing….

VH1 Said This is the Best Hip Hop Song EVER!

I’m not sure if this is the best Hip Hop song EVER! But I know it’s one of the most evocative. Back in the day, when the DJ played this your chest swelled. PE made you proud as hell to be part of the Hip Hop nation. So to them I say congrats. And check Chuck D’s skinny jeans. He was ahead of his time.

THIS BANGS – WILLIE THE KID!

DJ Drama’s boy. Willie The Kid ft. Trey Songz, Gucci Mane, LA The Darkman, Yung Joc & Bun B – Love For Money Video….I LIKE THIS. Even Gucci Mane steps it up….lol. I remember when La The Darkman was down with Wu…

KATIE COURIC OWNS SARAH PALIN

I don’t hate Palin, but ownership is ownership.

“I’ll try to find some and I’ll bring ‘em to ya!”

REMEMBER THIS?
