The Last Word: Chris Brown Writes For Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls Say No to Stripping, and Beyonce Talks Her Role As Etta James

What’s new, world conquerors? The end of the week is here

and all we have to show for it is Obama and McCain coming together on the

anniversary of 9/11 on Thursday, the federal government officially taking over

mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as they battle this whole housing

crisis, Lance Armstrong coming out of retirement to have another go at the Tour

de France in 2009 and Tom Brady’s season ending knee injury shaking things up

for the New England Patriots.

Congratulations go out to Usher, who is expecting his second

child with wife Tameka Foster. Shout out to the sounding boards for making me

realize that honest people still exist in the world today.

Ladies and Gents…the Last Word for the week ending Sept.

12, 2008:

1. Chris Brown Moonlights For Britney Spears

As things go now, life is good for if you’re Chris Brown.

And while impressive singing and dancing skills are things that garner new

fans, Brown is exercising his other talent, songwriting.

In Last Week’s Word, I mentioned how Shaggy wanted to do a

song with Britney Spears. Now it seems like the feeling is contagious, as Mr.

Brown is putting his songwriting skills to use in hopes that the MTV VMA winner

will record one of his compositions.

“I actually wrote a couple songs for her now,”

Brown told the Associated Press. And

while the crooner admits that executives at his record label have heard and

love what he’s put together, Britney has yet to lend an ear.

Take note, Miss Spears: The song he wrote for rumored

girlfriend Rihanna, “Disturbia,” proved to be a winner by reaching

Number One on the Billboard 100. Britney take note:Three Moonmen are cool, but

a hit song and album keeps you in the mix.

And Brown is determined to make the cut as he said

“…if she doesn’t, oh well, we’ll go back in the studio and still do some

more records for her.”

Although I hope Chris makes Britney’s final song list, he

could come up short. Spears has already passed up chances for a solid comeback

by turning down a collaboration with former beau Justin Timberlake. Maybe

she’ll have a change of heart and give Brown a shot. Hopefully, Rihanna won’t

be too “disturbed” with having someone else reap the benefits of her

man’s talent.

Then again, it could make for an interesting triangle.

Rihanna vs. Britney. My money’s on Ri-Ri.

2. Beyonce Shoots for Icon Status; Plans a Dark Surprise

for Movie Fans

As far as female singers go, very few can dominate the scene

like Beyonce. When she goes all out, she goes all out. So what happens when

being, as Jay-Z, proclaimed “the hottest chick in the game” wears out

its welcome? I guess you shoot for higher heights that go beyond the tunes you

sing.

“I’m over being a pop star. I don’t wanna be a hot

girl. I wanna be iconic,” B told Marie Claire magazine as she acknowledged that she has

“accomplished a lot.” “I feel like I’m highly respected, which

is more important than any award or any amount of records. And I feel like

there comes a point when being a pop star is not enough.”

OK. The pop star thing is wearing thin, but that obviously

hasn’t stopped Miss Knowles from prepping the release of her third solo album,

which hits stores Nov. 18. And if your Beyonce fix still isn’t satisfied, then

you can see her on the big screen as the wife of a stalking target when Obsessed comes to theaters on Feb. 27. In the meantime,

Knowles’ much talked about role as legendary blues singer Etta James in

Cadillac Records is also slated to come out, although no release date has been

announced as of yet.

We know that she’ll have the vocal chops to pull off the

role, but Beyonce had a different reason for wanting to portray James, who was

known to have had a decade-long heroin addiction.

“I’ve been saying for a long time that I wanted to do

something dark,” B said as she believes that “people are going to be

very shocked. It’s the complete opposite of me. It was very emotionally

draining. I was exhausted.”

At the pace she’s going, icon status may not be too far off.

Just remember to keep the darkness on screen. A fine and sunny Beyonce beats

the anti-B anytime. We have enough of those running around with Miss Winehouse.

Maybe B can finally get the Oscar status that Jennifer Hudson beat her to.

We’ll see.

3. Color Me Badd Singer Belts Out Jailhouse Song

Back in the ‘90s Color Me Badd had hit songs, screaming fans

and awards to boot. What a difference time makes, as the group’s lead singer

Bryan Abrams is attracting screams. But for a different reason.

According to NewsOK.com, the 38-year-old singer was arrested

last week on charges of public drunkenness and domestic abuse. A police report

noted that the authorities answered a call at a restaurant regarding a drunken

man causing a disturbance.

Abrams is accused of punching a woman in the nose and

threatening her, saying “I’ma kill you. You and me. You and me,”

according to the report, which stated that a strong odor of alcohol was on

Abrams’ breath and cites a waiter who saw Abrams hit the woman in the face.

Officers also noted Abrams’ slurred speech and “random

sentence fragments” as the singer spoke with them. The police report goes

on to say that the victim agreed to press assault and battery charges against

Abrams, who now sits in an Oklahoma County jail cell after being booked.

First Milli Vanili, now Color Me Badd. Is there no group

safe from post fame disaster? Makes you wonder what will become of the members

of Pretty Ricky. Ten years from now will we see those guys caught up in some

scandal involving ex-managers, women and alcohol? Sounds like a job for VH1.

(Sounds like VH1 needs to get up on the hotline).

4. Pussycat Dolls Reject Stripper Label; Plan

Semi-Biographical Musical

Whether you love them or hate them, you have to admit that

the Pussycat Dolls are sexy. And that’s good. But don’t let that be the only

thing you notice, as PCD member Kimberly Wyatt slammed critics who can’t get

past the collective’s sexy image.

“I get upset at the way some people talk about us. They

dismiss us as if we’re strippers, but we’re not like that at all. I’ve trained

for this all my life. I did tap-dancing, jazz and ballet,” Wyatt said as

she relented that her and her groupmates are constantly put in “some sort

of box.” “With us, that box is always marked ‘raunchy’. But the most

important thing to me is that I am honest and feel good about myself.

If people insist on calling me raunchy, well, then maybe I

am raunchy. But I’m comfortable with who I am and how I present myself.”

In other PCD news, the group is reportedly in talks to star

in a musical based on their journey to music stardom.

“The Pussycat Dolls are getting a lot of film scripts

to look through at the moment,” a source told Musicnews.com. “It’s

going to be semi-biographical, about their rise to fame, with loads of dancing

and singing.”

And there you have it. While I hear what she’s saying, what

do you expect from a group spawned from a Los Angeles-based burlesque troupe?

The singing wasn’t the first thing I noticed when I saw their first video.

Maybe they should set a new trend and go conservative for the next album. It

may not be as eye catching, but the talent will definitely shine through. They

can sing, you know.

I’m pretty sure PCD will do just fine on just talent alone.

In today’s music scene, that’s all that really matters, isn’t it, Meeoooow.

5. Jennifer Lopez Ensures Pregnancy Again and Again and

Again

If one pregnancy test doesn’t do it, take a few more. That’s

what Jennifer Lopez did as she took 20 tests to make sure that she was with

child. All this after feeling “a flutter” during a hair and make-up

session As a result, J. Lo stocked up on pregnancy tests at the local pharmacy

and even got her husband Marc Anthony to pee on a stick to make doubly sure

they were expecting.

Why you ask?

“I needed to see what a negative looked like.”

Lopez said.

For J. Lo, reading is fundamental. I’m sure it describes a

negative on the side of the box.

I’m so glad she played it safe. And all it took was 20 pregnancy

tests. I know she wanted to be sure she’s having a kid, but wouldn’t it have

been simpler for J. Lo to just go on Maury. You could’ve gotten confirmation

within an hour and not have wasted time with all those tests. Not to mention an

expert that would’ve given you stats and other facts to help you.

Makes you wonder how many tests would’ve been done if it was

Diddy’s baby, not Marc’s she was carrying. Can you picture Puffy taking a home

pregnancy test for his lady? Love will truly make you do some weird things. Go

figure.

In Other Words…

number of items at the museum is taken from King’s personal collection.

T.I. Ex-Girlfriend Seeks More Child Support

Legal trouble continues to follow rapper T.I. as the mother of the entertainer’s two sons has come forward to request more child support to help raise the youths.

The Associated Press reports that T.I., born Clifford Harris, is being sued by his 29-year-old ex-girlfriend, Lashon Dixon.

Dixon claims that she is having a hard time raising the former couple’s two boys with the $2,000 a month Harris provides for child support.

The boys, age 7 and 8, are the result of T.I.’s relationship with Dixon.

The pair, who have known each other since they were teenagers, were involved in a romantic relationship prior to Harris achieving stardom as a rapper.

Dixon is asking the court to order a stipend that is equal to the money Harris makes as a successful entertainer.

In addition to the sons he has with Dixon, Harris fathers two boys with his fiancee, former Xscape member, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle.

The palimony suit, which was filed in Fulton County Superior Court, comes as Harris serves 1,000 hours of community service after pleading guilty to federal weapons charges.

The rapper is expected to complete his sentence in March when he begins serving a one-year stint in prison. T.I. is currently preparing to release his forthcoming album Paper Trail.

The project, which features the hit single “Whatever You Like,” is slated to hit stores on September. 30.

U-N-I: Universal Magnetic

Today we would like to introduce you to a two man group out of Inglewood, CA that’s been making a nice name for themselves on the underground scene as of late. U-N-I is comprised of members Y-O and Thurzday, and although they hail from one of Southern California’s most dangerous and notorious cities, don’t expect to hear any tales about banging in the hood or dope dealing from this group. Instead, the duo has chosen to relay their music from what they describe as a “regular” person’s point of view. With no street-cred gimmicks or gangsta personas to fall back on, the group is placing a high emphasis on their music in their attempt to build a strong fanbase. But after pushing their Fried Chicken & Watermelon project for nearly a year, will that be enough to propel them into stardom? That question remains to be answered; however, the group has been attracting attention from MTV and magazines such as The Source and XXL. Now they are ready for their proper AllHipHop.com debut as the group took the time to talk to us about their music, Mohawks, hipsters, their A Love Supreme project and possibly being bitten by a certain pair of rap superstars. AllHipHop.com: Let’s start off with your name, U-N-I, what’s the whole meaning behind that?Thurzday: We derived that name from The Roots album, Illadelph Halflife, a song featuring Common called “UNIverse At War.” We are making it our mission to make a statement for good music in Hip-Hop.  The U is for Y-O and the I is for myself and it’s U-N-I versus all opposition, contenders, haters and whoever is in our path. It also stands for being Universal and having no limits musically. Music is about expression and we never want to be known for just one type of thing. Soul Hop – Y-O & THURZDAYAllHipHop.com: When I think of rappers from Inglewood, gangster rappers like Mack 10 and The Relativez come to mind. Had you all not informed me that you were from Inglewood, I never would have guessed it. Y-O: I’m originally from Seattle, WA and I made my way out to Inglewood in 1996. I met Thurzday in my freshman year in high school there. I can understand where you are coming from when you say that. When you do hear of an up-and-coming group out of Inglewood, the first thing that will pop in to your head is someone wearing khakis or Dickies – and rapping about the gangsta lifestyle. I have nothing against it but that is not the lifestyle that we represent. We are more like the regular people with the 9 to 5’s that grind daily with five dollars in their pocket. We really like to base our music off of our lifestyle. We don’t want to glorify the gangster rap story that California is known for. Gangster rap put California on the map but we just want to step outside and separate ourselves from all of the other West Coast artists. It’s actually a compliment to hear you think that we don’t fit that category because that’s what we strive for – to not box ourselves in with the L.A. gangster rap. AllHipHop.com: I imagine though that this is a common reaction when fans find out that you dudes are from Inglewood. Thurz: We get that surprised reaction a lot when fans find that out, especially from people that live outside of Cali. All they see on TV are the Friday and Boyz N the Hood movies. You don’t really see the other people that represent L.A. which are like us. The movement has been going on for a while out here. We often get compared to the Souls of Mischief, Hieroglyphics and The Pharcyde. Those guys are the pioneers of music outside of the gangsta-rap lane in Cali.

“We like to dress comfortably for ourselves. Our music is substance over style, though we are stylish. We are not hipsters nor do we make music for just that type of crowd. We are just regular people.”

AllHipHop.com: What category do you guys fall under? Are you hipsters?Y-O: Naw, we are not hipsters. We like to dress comfortably for ourselves. Our music is substance over style, though we are stylish. We are not hipsters nor do we make music for just that type of crowd. We are just regular people. We are regular people that puts out good music that the world can relate to. Nothing against the hipster crowd or the gangster movement – we are all for it. We listen to everything in Hip-Hop. U-N-I represents the regular people in our music – and we just happen to be from Inglewood, CA. Image wise people do want to put us in that hipster category but our music speaks for itself. AllHipHop.com: One of you dudes is rocking a Mohawk. What’s up with that?Y-O: That’s me – and going on five years now. I see that Chris Brown is growing a Mohawk and I don’t like that [laughs]. I love Chris Brown’s music but I don’t like his Mohawk. The reaction that I get from it is split. One half asks me when am I going to get it cut. And the other half tells me to keep it. Thurzday tells me to keep it because every time we go out it gets recognized. People are like, “You are from that group U-N-I, right?” It catches a lot of attention. I didn’t do it for that either, it was just something that I did one day. I just decided that I wanted a Mohawk. AllHipHop.com: Did that ever work against you in Hip-Hop? Mohawks until recently haven’t been associated with Rap music. [Ed’s Note: No disrespect to Afrika Bambaataa.]Y-O: I’ve never had any problems with it. Thurzday: Sometimes you get statements from people before they hear the music and they are automatically biased against us saying things like, “They are hipsters, they’ve got Mohawks and their jeans are fitted.”Y-O: When I hear stuff like that I won’t even respond. I just laugh. The only question that I ask is, “Have you listened to us?” When they say “no”, I usually give it about a month and those same people will come back and tell us that our music has substance. When I hear those types of statements, I just let the music back us up. Let the music speak for itself. I am not the type of person that will get in your face and just brag, brag and brag. I’m quiet. I’ll give you the music and in two weeks I will come back to you and ask you if you felt it. If you do, then we have another fan.

“They [the label] will take your mechanicals, your merchandising and your tour money. That doesn’t sound ideal for what we want. We feel that we have worked hard and are building up our own buzz without tagging along under anybody else.”

AllHipHop.com: Do you think that you guys can fit in well with a major rap label?Thurzday: The way the game is going right now, I see a lot of artists get 360 deals. They [the label] will take your mechanicals, your merchandising and your tour money. That doesn’t sound ideal for what we want. We feel that we have worked hard and are building up our own buzz without tagging along under anybody else. We’ve done our own work so we don’t want to be under a slate contract. But if a situation comes up with a label wants to distribute and market us correctly – then let’s do it! AllHipHop.com: Major labels often look for those radio hits. Is that something that you guys can deliver too?Y-O: We do that but in different ways, like our song “Beautiful Day.” That song is on MTV – it’s getting played on Sucka Free. We didn’t’ do that on purpose like, “Yo! We have to do a mainstream record.” It comes off naturally. We know how to make good music. It’s not just laying hot verse after hot verse. We know how to make a complete record. U-N-I “Beautiful Day” VideoAllHipHop.com: What releases are on the horizon that we can look forward to from the group?Y-O: Before we move on to our next project, which is A Love Supreme, we are releasing our last video that we just shot for Fried Chicken & Watermelon. The song is called “Soul Hop.” That video is going to set us apart from everyone. I believe that all of the people that talk down on us or don’t really big us up, will have their eyes opened up. It’s going to show that U-N-I is not here to play and that we are here for the long run. Thurzday: Then after that we will have A Love Supreme. We are looking to drop that in the first quarter of next year. We might leak a few tracks from it later on this year. AllHipHop.com: Anything that you want to leave us with as we end this?Y-O: [laughs] I just want to ask Nelly, “Why did you bite our video?” Why did you have to have J.D. on top of the rim with his Atlanta hat and J.D. chain? Why? Thurzday: Our first video was K.R.E.A.M. and we paid homage to Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing. I was playing the Mars Blackmon role and I was on the rim with Inglewood spelled out on my hat sitting with a chain that said “Thurz.” Next thing you know, Nelly has a video like that [for the “Steppin’ On My J’s” song]. We did that over a year ago – almost 2 years. Nelly and J.D. bit our video [laughs]. We aren’t salty about it because we know that happens. I just don’t like it when an artist has a creative idea bitten by a major artist with more resources. I’m not salty about it because it lets us know that we are in the right lane. What y’all think?U-N-I “K.R.E.A.M.” VideoNelly “Stepped On My J’s” Video

Hip-Hop Rumors: Info On Kanye West Arrest! Illseed And Kelly Are Over! Hot Boys Info!

DISCLAIMER:

All content within this section is pure rumor and generally have no factual info outside of what the streets have whispered in our ear. Read on.

TODAY’S RUMORS!

THE HOT BOYS ARE COMING!

If you are looking for the Hot Boy to reunite in a formal manner, you are in luck!

BG has a song coming out called “Ya Heard Me” and that’s a song that airs out the entire Hot Boys reunion situation. Basically, the crew all had to prove that they could do all their collective projects separately before coming back to the table as the Hot Boys. From what I know they are definitely going to do it and are now working out the particulars on the deal. Its my understanding the Universal Records still has the contract, but somehow Atlantic might come into effect.

RHIANNA – THE LOUIS VUITTON DONNA

Rihanna is a hot chick. She is so hot I heard she is in talks to be the new face of Louis Vuitton. I don’t know all the details, but I think is a great look for a great looker.

KANYE WEST DOES A BID!

I know you saw this already, but I cannot believe Kanye West got arrested on Sept. 11 at an airport! Those paparazzi are crazy, ain’t they? Anyway, You probably saw it already, but if you didn’t, here it is.

I don’t know why people were suggesting that it was a bodyguard that was doing damage and trying to take the charge. That was actually manage Don C going out like a G. I don’t know, but Kanye is the last person I thought would dumb out on the paparazzi. He’s staring at a felony, but I know his money and power will get him out of this. He has no priors!

HERE IS THE POLICE STATEMENT

I heard Kanye got out of the jail and his real bodyguard blocked him from the rabid press with an umbrella.

Entertainer Kanye West and Don Crowley, his road manager and body guard, were arrested at Los Angeles International Airport, today by Los Angeles World Airports Police following an altercation with two members of the paparazzi. The incident occurred at 7:51 a.m.

West and Crowley were at Terminal 4 to depart on a flight to Honolulu. In the public area prior to passenger screening, they were met by a photographer and videographer who were taking their photos. An altercation ensued between the two cameramen, West and Crowley.

The cameras of the paparazzi were damaged in the altercation.

West and Crowley were taken into custody, each charged with felony vandalism. Airport Police had initially received the call as also involving a potential battery. However, following initial investigation, it was determined that no battery occurred.

Both men have been transported to Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division for booking.Man, I had already printed up a FREE KANYE WEST t-shirt!

THE GAME TO GET DROPPED?

I know you thought I was talking about that dude from Compton, bit I’m not. I am not an avid watcher of “The Game,” the show on the CW, not the rapper. But I heard the show is in jeopardy even though it has been hugely successful. Please keep Tia Mowry and Raquel Robinson working and watch it! The insider that I talked to told me that the show is getting almost no promo or marketing dollars to make it. There may even be a conspiracy to dump it and drop it from the CW roster. So, spread the word! Look for the Oct. 3rd premier.

LOST KELLY…I LOST…

Ahhhhh…just call me a sucker for Kelly. We’ve been on the rocks for a minute now and now its over. Shes got another dude. I got another…situation anyway!

Kelly, you with out me…is like cornflakes without the milk. Step into the “Rain” with me.

Shout out to Oran Juice Jones!

PEEP JAY-Z’S NEW ‘DO! JIGGA FRO!

Meanwhile, 50 Cent cuts his fro down for the premiere of “Righteous Kill.”Here are the rest of the pics – click here!

THE GILLIE THE KID / HEAVY SPITTERS / G-UNIT PHILLY SITUATION

You should remember a day or so, I told you that their may have been an altercation between the good people of Heavy Spitters and Gillie the Kid, a Philly rapper that used to beef with Lil Wayne. I don’t know, but somebody said that I had it all wrong so here is there version of what happened. This information is coming from somebody down with G-Unit Philly so take it for what its worth. (No editing was done to the letter, but I did change the ALL CAPS.)

What’s good, illseed??? I’m going to officially give you some “intel” on the gillie da kid/heavy spitters incident. Whoever told you that version is 110% misinformed. Mike knox asked me to tell you how it really went down. What happened was……..

Slick from “heavy spitters” is from philadelphia. However, he recently started dealing with new york rappers and he has become unloyal in the sense that he is now letting other rappers make philly rappers look bad on his dvd’s. First, he let a new york rapper disrespect cyssero over the phone on three-way (which slick secretly recorded) and he put it on a dvd/worldstarhiphop. Then, he allowed tone trump (a philly rapper) disrespect oschino (state property) on another dvd. Recently, alot of philly rappers have united (especially those from north philly) and we are now our own “hip-hop police” in the sense that we have a problem with anyone making loyal philly artists look bad. Slick was just an example of an unloyal philadelphia resident being “disciplined”.

Gillie did not hit slick from heavy spitters. Gillie was involved, but mike knox (g-unit philly) is the one who smacked him at least 10 times. Knox and gillie set-up slick and had him come to a studio (under false pretenses, obviously) where gillie & knox had their own “camera crew” prepared to record the incident. Gillie & knox confronted him verbally at first, but when slick tried to lie about the situation to their face, that is when he was slapped many, many times. They had “fun” with the situation and made him apologize to oschino & cyssero on our footage. This was done to set an example to anyone who disrespects philly artists in our “alliance”. Slick tried to get away, but we had people watching the door to prevent his “escape”. They embarrassed him to the point of no return. I don’t think you’ll be seeing anymore philly-based “heavy spitters” dvd’s.

The video of the whole incident is in the possession of gillie da kid. To my knowledge, gillie plans to release it on worldstarhiphop. However, mike knox and i have no idea why he hasn’t done it yet. Maybe gillie wants someone to cut him a check??? I honestly don’t know because gillie said he was going to post the video the next day. So, stay tuned……

FREE CHINA?

I don’t know about this one, but you have read about the lady that was convicted of murdering her child by frying her inside of a microwave. I am going to play slightly fair and say that there are charges that something else is going on. Recently, but after her conviction, there has been a new witness (actually old witness) to come forward and say that China didn’t confess to the murder. This person, who I believe was her lesbian lover/ cellmate, claims the state paid her $3500 to “get lost” during the last trial. I know China probably had a wack lawyer so maybe getting lost was realistic? Anyway, China’s attorney has already filed an appeal for a new trial. I guess they aren’t that wack, eh? I also heard that some boy known to be strange may have put the baby in the mic and killed it. I don’t know, but that mess is crazy. I don’t know where China was, but her kid was 28 days. Most mothers don’t let their kid out of their sight at that age. Lemme stop, before I get in trouble. Free China Arnold…right?!

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

RANDOM QUOTES

If you think they aren’t going to do all they can to stop you from voting, think again. Check this twist of BS.

“We will have a list of foreclosed homes and will make sure people aren’t voting from those addresses,” party chairman James Carabelli told Michigan Messenger in a telephone interview earlier this week. He said the local Republican party wanted to make sure that proper electoral procedures were followed. The Michigan Republicans’ planned use of foreclosure lists is apparently an attempt to challenge ineligible voters as not being “true residents.”

Daddy Yankee…responds to his critics that call him a sell out irrelevant nobody (NY Post):

“I don’t care who I p### off. This is about my ideals, not about making friends. Senator McCain is the kind of man whose promises you can actually believe in. I like his stance on immigration reform, that he works across party lines to help immigrants, that he agreed to take a look and help the dire situation of aid to the veterans of Puerto Rico.”

This is about PRESS, dude..not policy. Dude hasn’t gotten this much press since Reggaeton went out.

Juelz Santan is wild. He said he wants to be the Monica Lewinsky for Sarah Palin:

“I wanna smash her just to wreck the whole McCain thing. It’d look like she was cheating and that’d be all crazy for the White House.” Only thing is America would say, “She’s just like us now.”

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

I hope you don’t think I just do this particular part of the column for fun. OH NO. I’m serious! This world as we know it is coming to an END! Why do you think “they” are going to Mars? They know! Anyway, a man with a child beats another man WITH A HAMMER on a Philadelphia subway train. What the hell just happened? In one moment, the man is tenderly talking to his son and in the next instance, he is beating the life out of a man…with a HAMMER. See it:

Here is the update:

Thomas Scantling, 26, of Philadelphia is the person that attacked a man with a hammer as he slept. He has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, among other charges. He is no angel with a lengthy criminal history of rape, robbery, assault, and drug violations. He was actually taken to a mental hospital. He was apparently upset that other train passengers were too close to him and his kid. The victim was 20-year-old Dewayne Taylor. He was fortunate. He was admitted and released from the hospital for head and neck injuries. He didn’t know that NUTJOB. Throw away the key!

ILL VIDS

I don’t know why, but this was supposed to be included in yesterday’s report. But, Matt Damon tore Sarah Palin out of the frame. I totally agree with him and have a hard time understanding why people with any inkling of common sense cannot see this point of view.

SHELZ ARBITRARY MOMENTS

Score One for the Mogul…

This hasn’t been the best year for Dame Dash, but at least his son is coming home. Or he should be per the order of the courts. The judge ruled yesterday that Linda Williams was going to have to turn Dame Jr. over to his father. Only thing is Ms. Williams (baby momma) didn’t bother to show up for court. No warrant was issued, as the court wasn’t positive she had been contacted. Another session is scheduled for 9/15 and at that time Dame and Dame should be reunited. It appears if baby momma doesn’t show up on the 15th, then a warrant may be issued.

Come Back Bristol. Come Back….

Oh my at the level of talent in this drop. Note to Kev…. Don’t quit your day job. But he definitely gets an A for the creative angle. Claim White House hopeful’s daughter’s unborn child, reap rap benefits. It’s definitely worth a try.

Cashville Chain Spotted on Ebay

Now some folks are suggesting this belongs to Buck. How they know that, I don’t know. I’m sure he’s not the only one with a Cashville chain. Too late for anyone interested. The bidding, which started at $7000.00, is closed.

[illseed note: I’ve never seen Buck with a chain like that!]

Jermaine Dupri Slapped With $250K Defamation Suit

So So Def mogul Jermaine Dupri is facing a defamation lawsuit over a private phone call included on Daz Dillinger’s 2006 album So So Gangsta.

The lawsuit, filed by a woman named Aika Kendrick, alleges that Daz and Dupri recorded a personal phone conversation which they then used as a backdrop for the song “The One,” which features Jagged Edge and details the difficulty of leaving an emotionally abusive relationship.

The initially civil June 2006 conversation culminates with Daz launching into a tirade of insults and obscenities at Kendrick before terminating the call.

Once made aware the call was recorded, Kendrick claims to have sent a cease-and-desist order to Dupri’s So So Def label which was subsequently ignored.

According to Kendrick, the call’s release to the public has made her “the subject of embarrassment, humiliation, and degradation.”

Due to this, Aika Kendrick is seeking $250,000 in damages on the grounds of negligence, copyright infringement, defamation, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Also named in the suit are Daz Dillinger, real name Delmar Arnaud, and Virgin Records.

So So Gangsta was Daz’s eighth solo and only So So Def album.

To date, it has sold over 150,000 copies.

At press time, Jermaine Dupri and Daz could not be reached for comment.

Kanye West, Manager Arrested At LAX

Grammy Award winner Kanye West and his manager were arrested at Los Angeles International Airport this morning (Thursday), after an encounter with the paparazzi escalated.

According to several reports, the altercation took place close to the American Airlines terminal at LAX and started when an unidentified photographer began taking photos of the rapper.

Kanye allegedly approached the man and grabbed his camera, at which point a struggle ensued.

Wresting the camera away from its owner, Kanye proceeded to throw it to the ground, breaking it to pieces.

A videographer for gossip site TMZ.com was present at the time and started recording the incident.

He was promptly approached by Kanye’s manager.

The two went through a similar struggle, resulting in the bodyguard breaking the TMZ camera as well.

According to the TMZ employee, identified on the site only as Erik, following the incident, Kanye attempted to board his flight, at which point he and his manager where detained by police officers before going through airport security.

It was only during a subsequent interview with West, his security and the two photogs, that the Hip-Hop star realized TMZ obtained video footage of the altercation.

He reportedly became enraged, lunging at the cameraman and demanding the videotape. He had to be restrained by police.

At press time, Kanye and his bodyguard are both being held on charges of felony vandalism. The bodyguard was also charged with battery.
