2 Chainz Makes Power Move With New Independent Label Deal

Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz has expanded his business empire thanks to a new distribution deal with Atlantic Records.

(AllHipHop News) Truuuuu! 2 Chainz has leveled up even more.

The “It’s A Vibe” rapper has made a name for himself as one of the greatest rappers to come out of the A, but now he’s focusing his attention on his independent label, T.R.U.

The acronym stands for The Real University, which aligns perfectly with his influence on the new generation of aspiring rappers.

Now, Tity Boi announces a joint venture for T.R.U. with Atlantic Records.

“I’m excited on the new venture, building from the ground up. My biggest goal is to play a part in changing someone’s life and make them a millionaire,” 2 Chainz told Billboard. “I treat the record label as school with various levels. That’s why we refer to it as ‘The Real University.’ It’s a course you go through.”

The Grammy-award winning artist’s label features three of his artists: Sleepy Rose, WORL, and Hott Locked N.

The trio is featured on a new song titled “Shoot It Out,” which can be found on a compilation album slated to be released this year.

It was back in 2015 when 2 Chainz first launched T.R.U., coinciding with his mixtape “TRU Jack City.”

On top of all this, he has been busy serving as a creative curator for Atlanta’s A3C Festival approaching on October 8-13th.

He will be speaking on the history of hip-hop culture and fashion alongside designer Dapper Dan.
