Dave Chappelle Goes All Out To Help Mass Shooting Victims In Dayton Ohio

The comedian is returning to Dayton to help the community heal with some laughter.

(AllHipHop News) Comedian Dave Chappelle is set to host a free block party for the people of Dayton, Ohio still reeling from a deadly mass shooting, which rocked the city earlier this month.

The event will be held in the Oregon District nightlife area, where the nine people lost their lives on August 4.

“This event will honor the lives lost and to reclaim the community’s favorite places to shop, dine and enjoy time with family and friends,” a post on Facebook reads.

Titled the Gem City Shine, the festivities are reserved strictly for Dayton residents.

Guests will receive a special commemorative T-shirt in exchange for a $20 minimum donation that will benefit the Dayton Foundation, which was launched in the wake of the tragedy.

The 45-year-old “Chappelle Show” creator has a personal connection to the area – he spent part of his childhood there and lives in nearby Yellow Springs.
