Some fans are apparently taking issue with the singer’s lack of transparency.

Halle Bailey and rapper DDG welcomed their first child on January 6, ending months of speculation. But some fans are apparently taking issue with the singer’s lack of transparency. On Sunday (January 28), someone tweeted, “I don’t think people are mad she hid her pregnancy. People are more so annoyed that she went out of her way to lie and gaslight about it. Then, she shaded people and called them desperate. Now, she wants those same “desperate” people to know every little detail.”

Bailey caught wind of the tweet and replied, “I never lied or even said anything about it honey , making a joke about my nose was the farthest i went . i’ll never understand why you are mad i protected my own peace, wouldn’t you do the same? and i’m gonna share my pics now if i want to because my son is here safely, if u don’t wanna see it just keep scrolling baby lol God bless you!”

Bailey responded to another person who wrote, “Halle, baby. Kill it. You didn’t tell us bout the baby then. You didn’t speak then. Dont speak now & leave us out the conversation. Enjoy your jit in peace. We don’t care.” Bailey asked, “If u don’t care why are u responding then sweetheart. just don’t care by living ur best life and not commenting on mine.”

It didn’t take long for Bailey to pull back and realize she had better things to do. She concluded the exchange with, “lol my hormones have been on 10 recently so i’m gonna go back to staying off twitter. love you all.”

Although DDG made a valiant effort to keep the pregnancy a secret. When a fan recently asked on Snapchat whether he had a child with Bailey, he simply responded, “No.” He also expressed how tired he was of people prying into his personal life, adding, “I don’t know why people is so invested in what I got going on or what we got going on. Mind your business. Go outside. Touch some grass. Go do a cartwheel in the backyard or something. It’s weird. I genuinely don’t be understanding. Why do y’all be so invested in people that don’t know you?”

Bailey recently stared in the film The Color Purple.
