Kai Cenat has become one of the most popular rap-centered streamers. Joe Budden is one of the most popular rap-centered podcasters. Now, the two media figures are in a war of words.
After Killer Mike took home a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album on Sunday (February 4), Kai Cenat took issue with the Atlanta native winning over Drake & 21 Savage’s Her Loss, Travis Scott’s UTOPIA and Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villains.
“I don’t know who this is, OK,” Cenat said. “Hey brother, God bless you. Congratulations. Who decided this motherf###er? Who the f### decided this motherf###er?!”
Joe Budden blasted Kai Cenat for his take on Killer Mike’s Michael scoring the victory at the Grammys. On the “Business Decisions” episode of his podcast, the 43-year-old retired rapper flamed the NYC native, saying, “Shut your a## up, little n####!” Joe Budden expressed about Kai Cenat. “Y’all little streaming n###s don’t always run s###! Shut the f### up!”
Budden later added, “I’m just so happy that the little f###ety-f###s, finally, finally, have a ‘look in the mirror moment’ and say, ‘Ah, it’s not about us.’ No! Adults are out, n####!”
Kai Cenat got wind of Joe Budden’s remarks. The 2023 Streamer Of The Year for the Streamer Awards fired back at Budden during a recent livestream broadcast.
“I’m not familiar with Killer Mike,” Cenat said. “I was just saying I felt like UTOPIA should have won. Y’all gotta stop talking about streaming n####s, bro! Stop doing that like we’re some little n####!”
“I would buy you! Do you understand that, bro? Do you understand that, my n####? You say it don’t come off as hating, but you’re always bringing me up! Relax, my n####! Stop!”
Kai Cenat did pay respect to “old n####s” during his stream. He also acknowledged fault for not doing more research on Killer Mike but stood by his original opinion about the Best Rap Album category.
“The reason why s###’s going so crazy right now, and y’all not being able to comprehend s###, is because it’s just simply a new wave of n####s, bro. It’s just simply a new wave of n###s. That’s what it is. Shout out to Killer Mike,” Cenat said.
Previously, Joe Budden admitted he was “ecstatic” when New York City police officers arrested Kai Cenat in 2023 for inciting civil unrest in Union Square. However, he supported Cenat’s controversial seven-day jail stream.
