The Reissue Of Prince’s Classic “1999” Will Have So Many Unreleased Songs Its Crazy

Prince’s estate is about to give fans more than their money’s worth with the upcoming release of The Purple One’s classic “1999.”

(AllHipHop News) The reissue of Prince’s much-loved double album 1999 is to feature a staggering 35 unheard songs.

The 1982 record has been remastered and expanded with the new tracks for the upcoming Super Deluxe reissue, the Prince estate, and Warner Records announced on Tuesday with the release set for November 29.

The previously unheard songs were recorded by Prince in 1981, 1982 and early 1983, and feature on the third and fourth discs of the five-disc deluxe edition.

The first disc will feature Prince’s original album – the first to feature his band The Revolution – while the second will contain the single edits, extended remixes, and B-sides, such as fan-favorite Irresistible B##ch.

The fifth disc is an audio recording of one of the late singer’s live concerts, while his gig at The Summit in Houston, Texas on December 29, 1982, makes up a DVD included in the Super Deluxe issue.

Fans will also be treated to a book containing Prince’s handwritten “Little Red Corvette” lyrics, rare photos of the singer at work and liner notes by stars including Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and Prince expert Duane Tudahl.

Prince’s estate is also releasing a two-CD Deluxe Edition of the reissue and a single-CD basic edition.
