FRESH HEAT – Dizzy – “Go Getta” ft Caine

Out of nowhere, from the icy city of Edmonton,Canada emerges Dizzy – the next big Canadian act set to spill over the U.S.’s northern border. Case in point is Dizzy’s most recent song “Go Getta,” a motivational song that’s sure to set a fire to anyone’s ambition.

Combine Dizzy’s flow with Caine, a Bone Thugs N Harmony affilliate and you have a strong song that will bang from Cleveland to Edmonton and back again. Fans can enjoy Caine’s raw lyrics that rep Cleveland to the core and a gritty sound that lets you know why he signed to Krazie Bone’s label The Life. While Dizzy’s pop sensibilities and raw edge give fans the perfect song to motivate to the next level in any climate, its his raw energy and excitement for Hip-Hop that bleeds through the track.

Wasiu – “Bout 02 Blow”

Shedding light on the issues of racism and media coverage of minorities in North America, Wasiu and his crew invade the Montreal underground and in an intense visual for “Bout 02 Blow.” In the video, which premiered via Noisey, Wasiu covers himself with a Haitian flag while laying down his forceful, clever rhymes over the harrowing beat by V X N Y L. “People were scared. They were staring. They were giving us attention. We had the power,” he explains. “Bout 02 Blow” is Wasiu’s latest track from his yet-to-be-titled debut album. “When I say ‘Bout 02 Blow’ I’m talking about a couple things,” Wasiu explained to Noisey. “I’m about to blow up in the rap game, I’m about to explode in a blind fury because I’m not getting the props I deserve, and I’m about to blow, like a terrorist. And when I say terrorist I’m referring to the way media builds this fearful image of Blacks, Muslims, and minorities, and it gets fed into the minds of the masses. But what we as people don’t realize is that this also empowers us and we just have to realize what we possess.”

J.R. Donato – “I Suppose”

After shutting it down at SXSW with a slew of performances, Taylor Gang’s Atlanta/Chicago ambassador drops new visuals that are sure to garner attention.  J.R. Donato lets go of the video to his new single “I Suppose” which sees him make the world his living room over chilled out production from Sledgren. Look for cameos from Wiz Khalifa! “I Suppose” lives on J.R. Donato’s impending project release “Fast Money & Freedom” Downloadhttps://itunes.apple.com/us/album/i-suppose-single/id990784772?ls=1

Saga – “Eye”

Rather than becoming preoccupied with the past, and worrying about the future, Brooklyn’s rising talent, Saga, knows that the only way to successfully move through life, and efficiently adapt to change, is by carefully anticipating his  next move. “Eye”, the third video taken from Saga’s debut effort, From Out of the Shadows, brings forth his efforts as an artist that can rock with both street wise hustlers, and story-rap purists. He’s a product of ’90s Boom bap culture, a style immediately showcased on this cut that puts you into the heart of the action. As he drops a barrage of lyrics over a delicate piano riff and snappy drums, produced by the Brooklyn by way of Toronto beatsmith, Marco Polo, Saga gives us a glimpse of Chinatown’s beauty, bouncing between bright open alleyways, and dark storefronts illuminated by neon signs. Be sure to add, From Out of the Shadows to your playlist, which is now available for free download, courtesy of AudioMack.

Dame Dash Discusses Arrest Warrant Issued For Unpaid Child Support (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Reports began to circulate that an arrest warrant has been issued for Hip Hop businessman Dame Dash. After the 43-year-old Harlem native failed to show up to court, a New York judge ordered Dash to pay $340,000 in child support to his ex-wife Rachel Roy or face going to jail.

Dame is now responding to the arrest warrant. The co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records spoke with Boyce Watkins about the matter.

“I don’t know what’s really going on, but like I told you, they started cheating,” said Dash. “The dude Donnell Suares I guess got a warrant, because I’m in L.A. and I never got the dates or times to come back to the court. I never got served anything.”

Suares is the attorney representing the mother of Dash’s children. During his Watkins interview, Dame referred to the lawyer as “crooked” and a “piece of dog sh*t” that is attempting to separate his family for money.

This is not the first time Dame has expressed his frustration with Suares. In February, Dame called Suares  a “coward” and a “culture vulture” on Instagram. Suares issued a statement to AllHipHop.com at the time.

“I simply represent people who are seeking support for their children and are having difficulty collecting child support from financially delinquent parents,” Suares relayed to AllHipHop.com at the time. “It is my privilege to assist this brave woman in her fight to support her children. Despite these attacks, I will continue to help those in need of representation when they need it most.”

Devin Allen (aka bydvnlln) has only been engaging in photography for the past two years, but his stirring pictures from the streets of Baltimore became Instagram favorites. One IG pic he posted on April 25 was selected to serve as the image of Time‘s cover story on the situation in Baltimore.

“When I shot that, I thought it was a good picture, so I uploaded [from my camera] to my phone,” Allen told Time. “By the time I’d done that, the police was all around me. I was in the middle of it.”

Protests and civil unrest broke out in Baltimore after 25-year-old Freddie Gray died while in police custody. It has been reported Gray suffered a spinal injury that led to his death, and citizens of the Maryland locale want more accountability from city officials concerning the matter.

For one of those Baltimore native’s work to be represented on such a high platform like Time, provides a first-person perspective not usually presented in the national media.

“For me, who’s from Baltimore city, to be on the cover of Time Magazine, I don’t even know what to say. I’m speechless,” added the 26-year-old. “It’s amazing. It’s life changing for me. It’s inspiring me to go further. It gives me hope and it gives a lot of people around me hope. After my daughter, who’s my pride and joy, this is the best thing that’s happened to me.”

Nicki Minaj May Have To Pay Up If Wig Maker Wins Appeal Case

Photo via Nicki Minaj’s Instagram

Nicki Minaj may have to pay up if her former wig maker Terrence Davidson wins his appeal case in his $30 million dollar lawsuit. The appeal court has ordered the case to be re-opened due to them believing Davidson has a case against the rapper for allegedly stealing his wig designs. Davidson claimed he created the wigs that made Nicki a star and accused her of cheating him out of millions. Terrence is still claiming that Nicki took his wig designs and then sold them to the public. Nicki is still accusing Terrence of filing the legal battle because he was bitter he lost his most famous client and said he can’t trademark a wig style and therefore she didn’t do anything wrong by selling her wigs. The appeal court came back with their decision and sided with Terrence, explaining that following their review of the lawsuit and the order dismissing the case by the previous judge, they have determined the lawsuit will be re-opened and Terrence can continue the legal battle. The appeal court believes that while Nicki and Terrence had no written contract that doesn’t mean the rapper could steal his designs and sell them on her own. We wonder will Nicki have to drop a few coins in the end.

Dej Loaf Deletes Support For Young Thug Due To Backlash?

Photo via Dej Loaf’s Instagram

An artist should certainly be able to stand by who and what they like right? Well apparently not when it comes to supporting Young Thug. Dej Loaf posted a screenshot of her listening to “Constantly Hating” from Young Thug’s Barter 6 album with the caption “My boy @thuggerthugger1 Barter 6 album is out now! This my sh*t.” Fans let her have it, and she quickly deleted the post. There is always going to be criticism, especially when you are in the limelight. However, if she liked the album, she should’ve kept her post up.

Suge Knight Set To Be Re-Arraigned On Murder Charges

Though a judge has already decided that Suge Knight will stand trial for murder charges, he is set to appear in court today (Apr. 30) to be re-arraigned on murder charges, ABC reports.

The 50-year-old is charged with murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run charges. Video surveillance shows Knight running over the now deceased Terry Carter with his SUV and striking Cle “Bone” Sloan outside of Tam’s Burger’s in Compton, CA. During a preliminary hearing earlier this month, Sloan refused to identify Knight as the man that ran him over saying that he “will not be used to send Suge Knight to prison.”

Suge Knight has been suffering from health concerns since his arrest for the murder charges. He has been rushed to the hospital five times and has arrived at court appearances in a wheelchair or with a cane to guide him after he complained of being legally blind.

The Game Writes An Editorial About The Baltimore Riots

On the 23rd anniversary of the L.A riots that erupted after the Rodney King verdict, Game reflected on his participation in the riots and gave his thoughts on the current uprising in Baltimore, MD over the Freddie Gray killing. In an op-ed piece for Billboard titled “Young Black Men Are Targets,” he said at the time he was proud of what he was doing but in hindsight, he understands that he wasn’t helping to solve the bigger problem at hand.

“That happened when I was 11 years old. I remember looting and throwing bottles and jumping on bottles, jumping on police cars and just being angry. At the moment, it felt great. I felt like, you always hate the police for whatever reason. It all seemed cool for the moment, but now I’m 35. Looking back at what we did as a collective, a young black collective, we ruined our own neighborhood.”

The Jesus Piece rapper says he completely understands Baltimore’s frustration though.

“I understand people wanting to be heard and being tired and fed up. I feel what happened to Freddie Gray was just another reminder of the neglect of the African-American youth in America and us as people.”th

The left coast wordsmith usually addresses social issues via his Instagram account but says he decided to use a different platform so his message wouldn’t be drowned out with negativity.

“I haven’t posted anything on social media because when it was Ezell Ford or Trayvon Martin and I spoke my piece and made posts, people got ignorant in the comments. I had to defend my posts and I didn’t want to do that this time. Social media can be a drive for negativity, and I wanted to wait until I wrote this letter in order to get my point across.”
