Hip-Hop Rumors: Over The Weekend VMA BS!

The VMA’s are about to kick off in New York and a bunch of famous rappers are in town partying. Aside from Scott Storch getting Jacked, the weekend has pretty much been uneventful in terms of crimes and that kind of stuff. But the parties definitely have New York jumping.

Hennessy V.S. and The Agency group celebrated at a big party at Avenue, where a bunch of people showed up. Juicy J., Mack Wilds, Trinidad James, B.o.B., Mario and a bunch of other people were up in the place. Rap legends Doug E. Fresh and DJ D-Nice hosted the event. I heard a lot of them were smashed.

Swizz Beatz hosted a black-tie affair that I wasn’t invited to. But I heard Teyana Taylor was looking good and Swizz performed his new track “Hands Up” featuring Nicki Minaj, 2Chainz, Rick Ross and Lil Wayne. But they weren’t there. Swizz still suprised everyone when he brought out reggae singer Junior Reid and performed the song “One Blood.”

Check out a few flicks.

Hip-Hop Rumors: RIP Aaliyah! Styles P. Vs The Police! Ace Hood's New Business!

RIP AALIYAH

Singer Aaliyah was killed 12-years-ago today, after her plane crashed in the ocean just off of the Bahamas. She might be gone but never forgotten.

Well it seems like Lamar Odom’s problems go way beyond a little bit of that Cali good-good. We know he liked the white girl, but he really likes the white girl, according to the latest. But Lamar isn’t even tooting the stuff he’s straight smoking CRACK. He’s been going hard for a minute. Now some people are saying Lamar is in to pills and Oxy’s and all that. I don’t do any of that stuff so I can’t speak on this. Lamar’s pop was a drug addict so maybe that had something to do with all this, maybe not. One of his boy’s is known to do coke, they even had something about it on “Khloe & Chloe.”

Styles P harassed?
Styles P got pulled over by the cops over the weekend. So he got on Twitter to let everyone know. A few Tweets later on the same night, after talking about someone offering him some Molly, the Ghost was pulled over AGAIN! It’s a good thing all Styles does is smoke a little because if he took that Molly he could have landed in the slammer. Shout to Styles he was going to his famous juice bar which is in the Bronx.

Looks like the homie Ace Hood is doing pretty good. Even though he’s named in a 100,000,000 lawsuit, Ace Hood is going to be doing a new clothing line. I don’t think it has a name yet. Ace Hood just scooped up some Gold plaques with DJ Khaled. ‘

Hip-Hop Rumors: Chris Brown the Blood?!! Naughty Still Beefing?

Chris Brown’s a gangster?

Seems like Chris Brown can’t do anything without catching some flack.

Now he’s catching heat because he’s claiming Fruitpark Piru and he’s out in Los Angeles, home to the Piru’s. Chris is out in Hawaii where he was legally doing graffiti somewhere on the island.

He drew those monsters and a mural or whatever it is he was painting. Underneath he wrote, Fruits Piru, a nod to the Fruit Town Piru gang. He also wrote “F**k the police.”

Guess he’s still mad about having to do 1,000 more hours of community service. Check out the picture.

Naughty still beefing?

We were hoping that Naughty By Nature would patch up their differences after they publicly trashed each other.

Apparently Treach and KayGee are still cool because they are hosting a party together at Bamboo Miami Beach next weekend.

Well for whatever reason Vin Rock won’t be there, but guess who will be? DJ KOOL!!

Yeah the dude known for “Let Me Clear Me Throat.” DJ Kool isn’t replacing Vin or anything, but it seems like things are still tense within the Naughty camp.

Drake: I'm Literally Going To Light The VMA Stage Up

(AllHipHop News) The MTV Video Music Awards has a very extensive history of jaw dropping performances. According to Drake, he’s ready to up the ante for this year’s ceremonies by taking his “Hottest Rapper” moniker literal with a pyrotechnic performance for the ages.

Drake recently spoke to MTV News about the details of his 2013 MTV Video Music Awards performance hinting at bringing some fire to Barclays Center:

“We’re blowing the stage up, I got things going off, I had to test with the fire marshall and it’s gonna be good. I’ve been doing this for a while, pyro doesn’t scare me. You know I’m ready, if you’ve ever been on stage with Lil Wayne, he likes explosions and they’re loud you know, so I’m used to it.

Drake also revealed that he’ll be performing his two singles “Started From The Bottom” and “Hold On Were Almost Home”.

The full interview will be on allaccess.mtv.com during “RapFix Live” on Saturday (August 24) at 5 p.m. ET.

Hip-Hop Rumors: More 2Chainz! Man Smashes Woman's Jaw On Tour Bus?

What in the world?

2Chainz’ tour bus is turning out to be something else. Not only did the cops tow the bus with a bunch of people on it, but the rapper was arrested for possession of drugs too.

Now the word is a female who was on board one of the buses associated with the T.I., Lil Wayne, 2Chainz was beaten up pretty bad by some joker on the bus.

The girl said that she was invited on to the bus so she brought one of her girls. That’s when things got worse. One of the perv’s on the bus tried to put his hand down the girl’s shirt.

Here’s the cray part.

She smacked the dude and he clocked her in the face so hard she flew out of the tour bus. This supposedly happened right before 2Chainz was popped for drug possession.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Jay-Z's Secret VMA Show?

“Don’t tell nobody…”pic4I just got this from the AHH Wire and it says that Jay-Z has a secret show in Brooklyn tomorrow as a prelude to the VMA’s. Word? OK. That’s what’s up. So, you all saw the video for “Picasso Baby,” right? If not, here is another look.

Anyway, this was called “performance art,” whatever that is. Whatever that is, they are saying that Jay will be doing something similar tomorrow. Another video? I doubt Jay would do the same thing twice. But, I am sure that it will dope however they do it. Also, there are supposedly a pair of surprise guests that will be there too. WE’LL SEE!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Kevin McCall Says He May Leak Project With Marilyn Manson Soon

(AllHipHop News) Singer-songwriter Kevin McCall is looking to introduce a new genre to the musical landscape. The California native teamed up with shock rocker Marilyn Manson for a project that centers around what he calls “Rock & Soul,” and McCall reveals he may be dropping something sooner than later.

“You gonna see that soon,” says McCall. “I’m gonna leak some of that sh*t if they keep playing with me. You gonna hear that real soon.”

Songs from the McCall/Manson “Rock & Soul” project will likely grab a lot of attention when they see the light of day. The unlikely duo’s individual resume of hits is well-known. Manson’s band is responsible for rock classics like “The Beautiful People” and “Coma White.” McCall has helped craft records for Chris Brown (“Deuces”) and Keri Hilson (“One Night Stand”).

Even with his experience working with artists like Brown, Hilson, Diddy, Joe Jonas, and more McCall still does not have a specific formula for making a hit song. According to the Washington State University graduate, he just attempts to make a connection with as many fans as possible.

“I think you never really know what it is. I think when you try and find an equation and stuff to make a hit that’s when you’re gonna start losing,” explains McCall. “I just try and come from the heart and try and do something that everybody can relate to on different levels regardless of what race you are or what age group you are. I think when you find a song that little kids will love and their grandmother will also love and you fill in the gaps in between, you find yourself a hit.”

McCall released his mixtape Definition in February. The 13-track tape features 2 Chainz, Problem, and Travis Porter.

EXCLUSIVE: Tristan "Mack" Wilds Talks Mini-Doc 'New York: A Love Story' & The Best Season Of 'The Wire'

(AllHipHop News) Most people probably know Tristan Wilds as shy kid-turned-stick up boy “Michael Lee” from HBO’s The Wire or as aspiring musician “Dixon Wilson” on the CW’s 90210. The Staten Island, New York native now wants the world to recognize him as a real-life singer/rapper on the rise.

Under the moniker “Mack Wilds”, the 24-year-old multi-talented performer just released his mini-documentary New York: A Love Story to help the public better under his transition from actor to musician.

The film serves as a prelude to his upcoming album of the same name. The project is being executive produced by Salaam Remi (Nas, Amy Winehouse) and features appearances from Raekwon and Method Man.

“I just wanted people really to know where I’m from, who I am,” Mack tells AllHipHop on the red carpet of the BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards. “You see so many characters with my face. You really don’t know who Mack Wilds is, so before we go into this music and show you where I’m from, let me tell you what you’re getting yourself into first.”

While Wilds is now focusing on his music career, he will forever be immortalized as one of the most important characters from The Wire. The show is considered by many to be the one of the greatest programs in television history, but there is still an ongoing debate among fans about which season of The Wire is the best. Wilds shares his opinion on the matter, and decided not to go with the season that made him a star, but instead picked the 2004 edition where Stringer Bell met his demise.

“I don’t want to be bias and say my season, of course, so I’ll say season three,” says Wilds. “It was a very amazing season. Season four was definitely amazing, but season three was what put me onto into, so I guess it’s a different nostalgia to it [for me]. ”
