Camille Cosby Speaks Out; Spelman College Cuts Ties With Bill Cosby

MRS. COSBY COMES TO HER HUSBAND DEFENSE WHILE ANOTHER COLLEGE DISCONNECTS FROM THE COMEDIAN

Camille Cosby has finally broken her silence amid the rape scandal involving her husband, Bill Cobsy. She issued a statement through CBS saying her husband of 50 years is not the man the media have been portraying him to be. She also compared this scandal to the gang rape allegations at the University of Virginia this year that turned out to be false.

Nineteen women, including supermodel Beverly Johnson, have come out saying that the TV dad drugged and sexually assaulted them. These allegations span over the 40 years.

As the scandal goes on, colleges are continuing to distance themselves from the defamed comedian.

Spelman College has reportedly  severed ties with Cosbys and temporarily discontinued a visiting professor program named after them called the William and Camille Olivia Hanks Cosby Endowed Professorship, which was created in 1966 after the couple made a $20 million donation.

The women’s college issued a statement saying that professorship was being suspended.

“The current context prevents us from continuing to meet these objectives fully,” the statement said. “Consequently, we will suspend the program until such time that the original goals can again be met.”

Cosby also resigned from the board of trustees at his alma mater Temple University while his other alma mater, the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, asked him to step down from their fundraising committee.  The Berklee College of Music and High Point University have also ended their partnerships with him.
