EXCLUSIVE: A$AP Ferg Reveals A$AP Mob’s ‘Cozy Tapes’ Is Nearly Ready For Release

THE NYC CREW IS SET TO DROP THE A$AP YAMS INSPIRED PROJECT

(AllHipHop News) Members of the A$AP Mob have been preparing the crew’s Cozy Tapes for a while. The effort was originally set to be released as an LP spearheaded by A$AP Yams, but after his death in 2015, the rest of the Mob took over the completion of the project.

“[Cozy Tapes is] the Yams album he was working on before he passed. It’s basically like an A$AP collective like your Ruff Ryders’ Ryde or Die Vol. 1 or [The Diplomats’] Diplomatic Immunity,” explained A$AP Rocky in January. “[Yams] wrote down in his notes, and he would tell me who he wanted on there. We were about to start working on it.”

Five months later, it appears Cozy Tapes is on the verge of dropping. In an interview with AllHipHop.com, fellow A$AP Mob member A$AP Ferg discussed the status of the compilation.

“We just shot the album cover art. The music is pretty much done. It’s in the process of being mixed,” says Ferg. “I don’t have a date, but it should be out real soon.”

The “New Levels” spitter would not confirm any guests slated for the tape. However, fans should expect Ferg, Rocky, A$AP Nast, A$AP Twelvyy, A$AP Ant, and the entire NYC-based squad to provide contributions to Cozy Tapes.

“I can’t tell you that. Let it be a surprise,” responded the Harlem native when asked about possible features. “We got the whole Mob on there though.”

A$AP Ferg is scheduled to perform on Saturday, June 25 at the BET Experience in Los Angeles. Watch his recent performance on Late Night With Seth Meyers below.
