Rachel Roy Scraps Speaking Engagement After Beyonce Fan Attack

RACHEL ROY CANCELS EVENT AFTER BEYHIVE STINGS OVER JAY Z/BEYONCE SNUB!

(AllHipHop News) Fashion designer Rachel Roy has scrapped a planned appearance in New York, amid reports suggesting she is the woman who allegedly came between Beyonce and Jay Z.

The ex-wife of Hip-Hop mogul Damon Dash had been booked as a speaker at a creative seminar for NeueHouse on Monday, but she pulled out of the gig at short notice.

A statement issued to UsMagazine.com by organizers reads: “Due to a personal emergency, Rachel Roy has had to cancel this evening’s event. Our apologies for any inconvenience.”

The unexpected cancellation was announced amid fevered speculation suggesting Roy is the woman Beyonce calls out for cheating with her man in her new song Sorry.

The tune in question, which debuted as part of the superstar’s Lemonade TV special on Saturday (April 23), features a line in which Beyonce sneers, “He better call Becky with the good hair”.

Roy set social media alight hours after the premiere by sharing a snap of herself on Instagram.com, which she captioned in part, “good hair don’t care” – sparking gossip she was the “Becky” referenced on the track about infidelity, which many fans and followers believe details a troubled patch in Beyonce’s marriage to Jay Z.

The singer’s devotees, known as the BeyHive, responded to Roy’s comments with stinging remarks about her looks and alleged affair, which has long been rumored to have caused the now-famous elevator showdown between Jay Z and his sister-in-law Solange Knowles following a Met Ball afterparty in 2014.

The backlash prompted the 42-year-old designer to delete the picture and make her Instagram profile private, to prevent strangers from posting further comments on her page, and she took to Twitter.com on Sunday to blast critics for the cyber-bullying.

“I respect love, marriages, families and strength,” she wrote, without mentioning the controversy itself. “What shouldn’t be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.”

Roy has never commented on accusations swirling around her close friendship with Jay Z, who launched his first label, Roc-A-Fella Records, with her ex-husband, Dash.

Roy and Dash were married from 2005 to 2009, and they are parents to daughters Tallulah and Ava.

Meanwhile, Beyonce and Jay Z, who are famously private when it comes to their personal lives, have yet to address the song controversy.
