Is Megan Thee Stallion A Snitch?

(AllHipHop Rumors) The “streets” are permeated into the internet. Is Megan Thee Stallion a snitch? I can’t believe this is even a question because Megan Thee Stallion is a victim of a crime. As we Peru’s the Internet, we see exactly how dumb and misinformed people are.

Megan Thee Stallion was shot two times in her feet by Tory Lanez, allegedly. They were in the midst of a deep argument with witnesses present and he was so upset by what was being said that he shot her as she attempted to leave the situation.

And now people are calling her a snitch for calling out Tory Lanez, her alleged assailant. What in the world is going on with you people? This is a woman that was shot by a man! Shot! And somehow she is supposed to just keep quiet about it? In fact, that is exactly what she did. She did not name Tory Lanez as the actual shooter until this point. It seems like some of the PR’s spin upset her. Make no mistake about it, there are people that are vehemently trying to keep Tory Lanez safe and out of jail but they should let the lawyers do the talking.

So, Megan Thee Stallion went off on Instagram live last night right in the middle of the Democratic national convention. At first I thought it was some kind of conspiracy to distract people from what Joe Biden was saying because he had a hell of a speech last night. But I realize Megan just let it go. At any rate, Megan the stallions is not a snitch because she is a regular citizen. I think she try to abide by those rules to a certain degree because this could be the end of his career. but as far as I’m concern that’s not her job right now.

So, stop all the rat emojis! Goofy!

Kanye West Makes Deadline For Tennessee Ballot

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West is hoping to add Tennessee to the handful of states in which he will appear on the U.S. presidential ballot this November after just making the Thursday deadline.

The “Stronger” hitmaker, who announced his White House run in July, submitted his petition just before noon, and filed to be listed as an unaffiliated candidate, despite previously claiming he would be representing the so-called Birthday Party.

Julia Bruck, a spokesperson for the Secretary of State’s office, confirmed the documents had been received, and are now being reviewed to ensure the collected signatures are all valid, reports the Associated Press.

Independent candidates require the support of at least 275 locally-registered voters to get on the ballot in Tennessee, which incumbent leader Donald Trump won in 2016.

If Kanye’s ballot petition is approved, Tennessee will become only the fifth state in which he will have qualified to have his name officially printed as a candidate, alongside Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden in November, following successful submissions in Arkansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Utah.

His efforts in Wisconsin has been denied, while the validity of his candidacy in his native Illinois is also in doubt after almost two thirds of the names provided were ruled invalid.

Kanye had already missed a number of big state deadlines before even announcing his plan to join the presidential race.

Protoje Talks Tapping Wiz Khalifa For Cannabis-Centered Single “A Vibe”

(AllHipHop News) Wiz Khalifa built his music career by offering Hip Hop fans plenty of weed-friendly tunes. The marijuana enthusiast is back at it again as a guest feature on Protoje’s “A Vibe” single.

The Jamaican singer-songwriter tapped Khalifa to provide bars on his cannabis smokers’ anthem. “A Vibe” will appear on the forthcoming In Search of Lost Time album which is scheduled for release on August 28.

“When I first did this song, I honestly knew that I would not have put it out without Wiz being on it. I was a super fan of his Kush & Orange Juice mixtape. From then, I always wanted to sing a song about marijuana and how it helps maintain my mood at times,” Protoje explains.

“A Vibe” follows the release of the official music videos for “Same So” and “Like Royalty” featuring Popcaan. In Search of Lost Time will be Protoje’s first studio LP released with RCA Records. He previously earned a Best Reggae Album nomination at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards for 2018’s A Matter Of Time.

Doja Cat Announces New Song Titled “N.A.S.” After Nas Dissed Her On “Ultra Black”

(AllHipHop News) Will Doja Cat actually respond to Nasir Jones on a record? The “Say So” hitmaker seemed to suggest a future track could contain a few bars directed at the Hip Hop legend.

Nas has a song on his new King’s Disease album called “Ultra Black” where he takes aim at the female rapper/singer. On the single, the Queens emcee referenced the controversy surrounding Doja’s involvement in internet chat rooms that were allegedly frequented by racist and sexist incels.

“Sometimes I’m over-black, even my clothes are black. Cash Money with the white tee and the soldier rag. We going ultra-black, unapologetically black. The opposite of Doja Cat,” rapped Nas on “Ultra Black.”

At first, Doja Cat responded to the diss on Instagram Live by claiming she was “offended” and “upset” as “Ultra Black” played in the background. But she ended up telling her followers, “Have you guys heard ‘Fruit Salad’ by The Wiggles?”

Doja returned to IG Live to offer more commentary on Nas namedropping her on his new LP. This time she claimed to have a forthcoming song with the same name as the 46-year-old New Yorker.

“The song that I have coming out is called ‘N.A.S.’ But only if you abbreviate it. It’s three words. Abbreviate. Which is funny. It’s kind of nice,” said Doja. “Because that was before the fact. You know? If you know what I’m talking about, you know what I’m talking about. If you don’t, you don’t.”

The Internet Reacts To Megan Thee Stallion Saying She Was Shot By Tory Lanez

(AllHipHop News) What began as a bizarre news story in July has now completely taken over social media once again. Last night, for the first time, Megan “Thee Stallion” Pete publicly named Tory Lanez as the person accused of shooting her in the feet.

Lanez (born Daystar Peterson) was arrested on July 12 after an incident in Hollywood Hills, California involving Megan and others. The Canadian rapper/singer was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

Reports claimed Megan was a victim in the situation. Up until recently, the “Savage” performer would not say exactly who allegedly shot at her that night. She later wrote on Instagram, “I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CCrBV3vlHvA

Over the last several days, rumors and conspiracy theories began circulating online that questioned if Megan was telling the truth about the incident with some people demanding she name the shooter. The 25-year-old Texas native finally did just that on Instagram Live.

After uploading a now-deleted IG photo earlier this week where she showed the injuries to her foot, Megan told her side of the story on Thursday night. She said, “Yes, this n*gga Tory shot me. You shot me and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and sh*t. Stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand.”

Thee Stallion added, “If you really want to tell the motherf*cking truth, I tried to save this n*gga. Even though he shot me, I tried to spare him. And y’all motherf*ckers are not sparing me. That’s crazy. That’s f*cked up… Y’all asking where people at, why nobody saying nothing? Ask them why they’re not saying nothing?”

Reactions to Megan The Stallion’s revelation took over Twitter as “Tory” quickly became a top trending topic on the platform. Some users defended Megan while others accused her of being a “sn*tch.”

The mixture of compassion and vitriol directed at Meg led to heated debates online. Her supporters pushed back on the “sn*tch” narrative by pointing out that she was the victim in the situation, not a possible co-defendant. However, detractors still expressed doubt about her sincerity.

According to reports, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office is reviewing the shooting case as the Los Angeles Police Department further investigates. Tory Lanez could possibly face additional assault charges.

Vic Mensa Returns To Rap On ‘V Tape’ Project

(AllHipHop News) Some Vic Mensa supporters were left a bit confused when the Chicago-raised emcee decided to explore a more Punk Rock-aesthetic on 2019’s 93Punx. However, Mensa is back to his roots on his latest effort.

The 7-track V Tape arrived overnight. Mensa’s new collection of tunes provides listeners a chance to travel into the mind of the 27-year-old Roc Nation recording artist as he spits over Hip Hop beats by C-Sick, SC, Thelonius Martin, Hit-Boy, Johan Lennox, Keyon Christ, and others.

For his new body of work, Vic Mensa recruited BJ The Chicago Kid, Snoh Aalegra, SAINt JHN, Eryn Allen Kane, and Peter CottonTale. V Tape joins a discography that also includes the Innanetape mixtape, There’s Alot Going On EP, and The Autobiography album.

In addition, Mensa recently released the “No More Teardrops” single which he debuted during his 2020 Lollapalooza set. That particular record will live on Roc Nation’s forthcoming Reprise compilation project.

Nas Reunites With The Firm On ‘King’s Disease’ Album

(AllHipHop News) Back in 1997, Dr. Dre helped formulate the Nas-led super-group known as The Firm. The crew’s self-titled album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, but Dre still had to address complaints that The Firm flopped.

Twenty-three years later, Nas reconnected with The Firm for a new track on his new album King’s Disease. “Full Circle” features AZ, Foxy Brown, and Cormega.

King’s Disease also includes contributions from Charlie Wilson, Big Sean, Don Toliver, Lil Durk, Anderson .Paak, A$AP Ferg, and Fivio Foreign. The project’s production was provided by Hit-Boy.

Nas’s latest studio LP is his first since 2018’s Nasir which was produced entirely by Kanye West. Last year saw the arrival of The Lost Tapes 2 compilation, a sequel to Nas’s The Lost Tapes from 2002.

Jay-Z and Pharrell Drop “Entrepreneur,” Featuring A Bevy Of Businesses

(AllHipHop News) After much press and hype, Jay-Z and Pharrell dropped their collaborative effort, “Entrepreneur,” where they extol the virtues of Black-owned business.

Pharrell croons, “You gotta let go/ If you want to fly take the leap/ You gotta risk it all / Or they’ll be lots of things you’ll never see/ You gotta let, let go/’Cause you never know what’s in store/Mister entrepreneur.”

Jay-Z said, “Uh, lies told to you, through YouTubes and Hulus/Shows with no hues that look like you do/ Black Twitter, what’s that? When Jack gets paid, do you?/For every one Gucci, support two FUBUs/Sipping crip-a-Cola consumer and an owner, uh/Till we all vertically integrated from the floor up/D’Usse pour up, sip Ace till I throw up/Like gang signs ‘cept I bang mines for both ya’ll.”

The song is produced by The Neptunes, the latest in a slew of collaborative songs the entities have worked on together.

The song had been promoted by Time Magazine as a part of an issue devoted to race. Pharrell explained the song.

Pharrell told Time, “The intention for a song was all about how tough it is to be an entrepreneur in our country, to begin with. Especially as someone of color, there’s a lot of systemic disadvantages and purposeful blockages. How can you get a fire started, or even the hope of an ember to start a fire when you’re starting at disadvantages with regards to health care, education, and representation?”

Megan Thee Stallion Admits Tory Lanez Shot Her

He did. Tory Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion, and the rapptress took to Instagram Live to tell the whole story.

She started off the video pointing at the multi-hyphenate Canadian performing. She said:

“Yes, this n##ga Tory shot me. You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and s##t, stop lying! Why lie?”

A fresh-faced Stallion, with a teal green bang swooped under her hoodie, continued an emotional blast that revealed how she tried to cover for her former friend and doesn’t understand how that was not appreciated.

“I don’t understand. I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you dragging it.”

She then dispelled some of the rumors out there, “Motherf##kas saying that I hit you. I never hit you. Motherf##kas was like ‘Oh, she mad because he was trying to f##k with Kylie.’ No, I wasn’t.”

“You dry shot me.”

The “WAP” rapper details the entire story, setting the record straight for those who have been dragging it for weeks.

“Everybody in the car is only four motherf##kas in a car: me, you, my homegirl, and your security. Everybody [was] in the car arguing. I’m in the front seat, this n##ga in the back seat. I get out the car … [Cause] I’m done arguing … I don’t wanna argue no more … I get out … I’m walking away …. this n##ga from out the back seat of the car start shooting me. You shot me.

She later reveals that there are witnesses to the crime and that they were not at Jenner’s home when it occurred. She also said that the current state of civil unrest, directly related to the protests that were going on throughout the nation, made her uncomfortable being completely truthful with the police.

She did not want them to know that one of them had a gun in the car and was afraid for their lives.

“I’m scared all the s##t going on with the police (the police is shooting mutherf##kas for anything … the police was literally killing black people for no mutherf##king reason). Soon as the police tell us all, ‘get out the mutherf##king car.’ The police is really aggressive. You think I’m about to tell the police that…we…us black people got a gun in the car? You want me to tell the law that we got a gun … so, they shoot all of us up?”

Even after they were detained and she was taken in for medical attention, she shares that she still was too afraid, even with her doctors, to be truthful.

I didn’t tell the police nothing because I don’t want us to get it no more trouble than what was already bout to get in,” Megan said.

She would have never gone public she revealed, as she was trying to keep it cool. But the internet rumors and the alleged spin that Tory Lanez’ camp is pushing made her come forward with her truth.

“I’ve tried to save him, even though he shot me. I tried to spare him and y’all mutherf##king is not sparing me that’s crazy.”

No word from Tory Lanez.

Travis Scott’s About To Sign Mega Deal With McDonald’s

(AllHipHop News) Big Mac, Filet O’ Fish, Quarter Pounder, French Fries, Icey Coke, Thick Shake, Sundaes, and ASTROWORLD Pies … Maybe …

According to a leaked memo, fast-food chain McDonald’s is planning to work with Travis Scott.

The US Chief Marketing Officer Morgan Flatley is quoted in the document, laying out the plan for the corporation marketing leaders.

Flatley stated in the memo, “From his impossible-to-get Nike sneaker line to a cereal collab with General Mills that sold out in 30 seconds, to a record-setting virtual concert series inside Fortnite, Travis Scott is the definition of big in culture.”

“Beyond this, he is a true fan of McDonald’s and our craveable, iconic food,” Flatley continues. “He will resonate and spark excitement with our youthful multicultural customers, and has a few surprises to delight our crew and ensure they are part of the excitement.”

Earlier in 2020, the Golden Arches tapped another superstar rapper to co-sign the brand.

During the uber-expensive Super Bowl Commercial called “Famous Orders,” they tapped Kanye West and his wife Kim Kardashian.

The two revealed their favorite orders. Yeezy wanted nuggets and Mrs. West wanted a classic burger.

The irony is not lost on the fact that both rappers are uncles to each other’s children, thanks to their relationships with sisters.

“Travis is the first in a suite of big celebrities that resonate across segments and are true fans of our food and our brand.”

The company has not commented on the validity of the document, but no one has denied that it was true. If it is true, Travis is only the start.

“Travis is the first in a suite of big celebrities that resonate across segments and are true fans of our food and our brand,” the memo reveals. “We can’t wait to share the rest of the lineup… in due time.”

Jay-Z Scolds Black Twitter For…Not Supporting!

(AllHipHop Rumors) This Jay-Z and Pharrell song is coming and everybody is excited about it. So, lets speak on the obvious: the lyrics! Jay seems to take aim at Black Twitter for making Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey more rich.

“Black Twitter, what’s that? When Jack gets paid, do you? /For every one Gucci, support two FUBU’s.” – Jay-Z

That wasn’t too harsh, right? A lot of people are taking offense, but I think its a fair thing to say. The only thing is…Twitter…FUBU? There is no real Black social media platform, Black-owned, that really addresses the voice Twitter addresses. The only other one is like Black Planet or something. Anyway!

There’s something else I wanna address to you all…this song has weird timing. Nas just released a new song, “Ultra Black.” And we all love it, even women that may be mad at the jab to Doja Cat. I get it. Nas’ album AND this song with Jay-Z and Pharrell drop tomorrow, August 21.

King’s Disease, Nas’ new album is looking real good!

https://www.instagram.com/p/CECk6_jhN0h

And here is…

https://www.instagram.com/p/CEHbrFRhqnz

The streets have suggested that Jay always seems to drop something around the same time as Nas. I am not going to run down all the history, but I do know in 2018, Nas dropped that project NASIR and then Jay-Z and Beyoncé released their joint album Everything Is Love THE NEXT DAY! Barely 24 hours to breathe!

Is this intentional or cosmic coincidence?

Doctor Dre’s Leg Amputated Due To Diabetes

(AllHipHop News) Damon Dash. Ghostface Killah. Anthony Anderson.

These three men are managing their diabetes and teaching others that they too can live high-level quality lives with the proper diet and exercise.

They have changed their lives from ripping and running and balances their good health versus their older, bad vices.

But not everyone has been as successful as Dame, Starks, or Mr. “black-ish.”

According to Jermaine Dupri, the former host of MTV’s#### show from the 80s and 90s, Yo! MTV, Raps Andre “Doctor Dre” Brown has had to have his leg amputated because he was unable to manage his struggles with the disease effectively.

While his diabetes is type 2, and the others are type 1, his family has reached out to his fans to support him during this time through a GoFundMe.

The GoFundMe read as follows:

Post-Op Care for Doctor Dre of “Yo! MTV Raps”

Friends, All of us who lived through the Nineties and care about music know and love Andre “Doctor Dre” Brown. He has made his mark on radio and television, in the movies and in print, working successively as a recording artist (as a founding member of Def Jam’s Original Concept), hip-hop DJ (he was the Beastie Boys’s DJ during the Raising Hell Tour in 1986), composer, talent scout, on-air personality, actor, author, and critic. He’s undoubtedly best-known as the co-host with Ed Lover of “Yo! MTV Raps” (1989-1995), the tv show that did more than any other to make rap music and hip-hop culture global phenomena.

After “Yo!”, Dre and Ed duo funneled their chemistry into major market radio. They held down the morning show on New York’s Hot 97 (1993-1998), then on L.A.’s The Beat (2000-2001), and finally on New York’s Power 105 (2003-2006).

Our sincerest prayers go out to Doctor Dre and his family, and hope that their needs are meet.

Megan Thee Stallion Shows Off Mangled Foot

(AllHipHop News) Megan Thee Stallion is sharing the images of the foot injuries she sustained following a shooting incident at a Hollywood Hills party last month.

The rapper underwent surgery on both her feet following the drama and her stitches were removed at the beginning of this month.

She took to social media to show off her messed-up feet with bullet wounds and skin damage, and cleared up a few reports about her recovery.

“I usually don’t address internet bulls##t but y’all people are so sick!” the “WAP” hitmaker wrote. “God was really watching over me and I’m healing so well! Sorry I’m not a** sad and miserable as a lot of y’all lol (laughing out loud) but ima keep being Megan Thee Mf STALLION.”

Megan was shot as she left the party with rapper Tory Lanez, who was arrested shortly after the incident and charged with possession of a firearm.

It’s still not clear who shot Megan.

Capone & Daz Dillinger Talk ‘Guidelines’ & East Coast/West Coast Beef

Capone and Daz Dillinger are both legends in the rap game. The former hails from Queens, New York, best known as one-half of duo Capone-N-Noreaga (C-N-N), alongside good friend and Drink Champs host N.O.R.E.

The latter represents the West Coast, coming up as one-half of Tha Dogg Pound and producing alongside the legendary Kurupt. Cousin to Snoop Dogg, he had the pleasure of working on Dr. Dre’s Chronic and mobbed closely with Death Row.

Now the two MCs join forces, collaborating for the first time since the infamous East Coast/West Coast hip-hop beef in the mid-90’s — which Capone states “really wasn’t no beef at all.”

Forming their own group titled Capone-N-Dillinger or CND, both are ready to drop their collaborative project titled Guidelines this fall. Features include everyone from Kurupt and Noreaga to Curren$y, Styles P, Mistah F.A.B. and Havoc of Mobb Deep.

To hold fans over, they have released two singles “LA LA, NY NY” and “Startender,” with powerful visuals to match. AllHipHop caught up with both Capone and Daz, who were located in Atlanta working on songs, doing interviews, and putting that work in.

AllHipHop: Daz, what are your fondest memories from the Death Row days?

Daz: Smoking weed, getting money, producing and living the life. I’m glad to be here living right now. It comes with good music. Keep pushing with your craft, don’t stop.

AllHipHop: How did you get into producing?

Daz: I was a DJ, then deejaying makes blending. Dr. Dre gave me a drum machine, taught me how to program it. Dope history.

AllHipHop: What did you learn from working on Dr. Dre’s Chronic?

Daz: Clarity, quality over quantity. Good music, banging it out. Learning to queue, learning the levels sonically.

AllHipHop: Fondest memories from those sessions?

Daz: Smoking weed, going to jail, fights, all kinds of s##t back when we were young. People would come in from doing some dirt, we don’t even know they’re doing dirt. Police chasing, old school memories.

AllHipHop: What did you learn from working with Tupac?

Daz: Work ethic. Back to back, quick recording and knocking songs out. Doing “Ambitionz Az a Ridah,” I go to the bathroom, come back in and the song’s done. After that, we’re onto the next.

AllHipHop: Capone, a lot of people are saying that they want a CNN record.

Capone: A CNN record’s definitely coming. That’s our next thing on our agenda. We’re doing the documentary, but we’re going to give another album. We’re going to definitely hit the road. That’s why we didn’t put out any music, because we want to hit the road for the people.

AllHipHop: COVID stopped that?

Capone: COVID stopped everything. You can’t even shake somebody’s hand yet, let alone do a show. Right now, it’s getting in tune with the people the best way we know how. God bless, we’ve got IG Live, Zoom. We can still get in tune and let our fans see we’re still moving. Hopefully the world opens up so we can do shows, put this music out, get it to the people, have some fun.

AllHipHop: How did Capone and Daz meet?

Capone: N.O.R.E had a Drink Champs episode in Vegas with Jack Thriller, Tony Yayo and Dru Hill. We met before that, but that’s where we linked and actually became CND.

Daz: I said “let’s put this work in”

Capone: I said “let’s do it.”

AllHipHop: Were y’all faded from that episode?

Capone: On God. The episode’s so crazy, I don’t even like to talk about It. I was too gone. I won $50K at the Craps table and drank too much. The whole interview, man down. I celebrated too hard.

Daz: I don’t drink.

AllHipHop: Daz, why don’t you drink anymore?

Daz: I drink when the occasion’s right. I hang with a lot of drinkers, but I’m a smoke champ.

AllHipHop: What was the dynamic in the studio creating Guidelines?

Capone: Our chemistry’s amazing. Vegas was when we sat down and chopped it up, really got to know each other. We saw we’re the same type of dudes. I already did “Startender,” had a verse open. I said “to start it off, I’ma send you that record.” That’s the first record we did, and it became a hit. The streets loved it, we didn’t look back. Let’s make a whole album, we’re doing a documentary too. It’s crazy.

Daz: Listening to everybody’s verse, collaborating the system. It came in right. I was shocked when N.O.R.E hit me with the song in the text, I thought “I gotta get Kurupt on here quick!” We put Kurupt on there, I put my verse on there, then Pone came with the champagne all over it.

AllHipHop: What was the reality of the East Coast/West Coast rap beef between CNN and Tha Dogg Pound (DPG) in the mid 90’s?

Capone: The reality was it was no beef, we didn’t have no beef with Tha Dogg Pound. Me and N.O.R.E. were trying to get on. The best way to get on is to go at somebody who’s already on. They made a record called “New York, New York,” nobody else wanted to say anything back. We gave it a little second, a little thought, we said “we’re going to be the ones to do it.” Whether people know us or not, they’re asking “who are these little motherf##kers going after the big dogs?” We’re new, they’re not new at this moment.

Daz: There was no beef, it was hip-hop. Responding to songs. We had real beef with other s##t but West Coast was inside homie type s##t. Kurupt and N.O.R.E were always hanging together. Capone was in jail, I was in the West producing. Beef is when you really in some street s##t, ain’t no coming back from that. [laughs]

AllHipHop: Why’d you name the album Guidelines?

Capone: The funny thing, me and Daz were sitting and talking. When N.O.R. E. sent the record back, he said “East Coast, West Coast guidelines.” We’re both looking at each other like “that should be the name of the album. It’s guidelines when you talk to the OGs, it’s guidelines when you’re in the game, it’s guidelines people have to abide by, in life. We stuck to the script, this is what everybody’s going to live by.

AllHipHop: You guys have a song called “Nobody,” paying tribute to Nate Dogg.

Capone: My man Choc Mike is on that record. You can’t ever clone somebody. You can’t make another Daz, you can’t make another Capone. It’s only one of us. When I say Choc Mike gives you that Nate Dogg feeling, he gives it to you. Rest in power Nate. Getting him on the record would’ve been the biggest thing in my career. Unfortunately, brother’s not here. I tried to give the people somebody that could bring the essence of Nate Dogg to the table. Salute Choc Mike, he did his thing. It’s about giving Nate Dogg his flowers even though he’s not here.

AllHipHop: Toda’ys the 47th birthday of hip-hop, I had no idea.

Capone: 47? I’m 25, I didn’t know that. [laughs]

Daz: I knew, I was looking at it today. Shout out to Kool Herc, Grandmaster Caz, Grandmaster Flash.

Capone: Lovebug Starski, Kool Moe Dee. What makes me and Daz rock so special is that we’re both lovers and students of hip-hop. We both appreciate hip-hop. People come in the game, get a lot of money, and forget what made them: this thing called hip-hop. You have to give praises to these legends. You can’t call Schoolly D or 3rd Bass old heads or disrespect their legacy, then call me a legend. A lot of people paved the way for me and Daz to even be here. I just want to tell the Youngins I respect you showing love but you have to give love to the people that was before us. I’m not even talking about Big Daddy Kane, LL, Eric B and Rakim, but people before them. Schoolly D, First Lady MC Sha-Rock, you gotta know your history. If right now you join a gang, you’ll know how to throw the gang signs and what the signs stand for. You’ve gotta do that with hip-hop.

Daz: Bill collector! We’re veterans at this. We’re casualties of hip-hop

AllHipHop: I’m from the Bay, so I love that you have Mistah F.A.B. on the project.

Capone: Mistah F.A.B. went in though! When Mistah F.A.B. sent his record, that’s the F.A.B. I know right there, the dope era F.A.B. I know.” I wanted to go in the Bay essence. You could never make a record from New York and make it sound like the Bay, because their sound is so embedded. It’s so amazing that you can’t mimic or mock that, but you can have a feeling of the Bay. When we made that record, I told Daz where I wanted to go and he was with it. He did the hook, I’m like “oh, perfect.” Mistah F.A.B. heard it and was like “holy s##t, 2 of my favorites. I’m in.” He sent his record back in 20 minutes. I wanted to call him and say “you know where you’re going with all that?” He said “I sent it back.” He works, he puts on for the Bay.

AllHipHop: What is special about yall’s pre-rolls?

Daz: It has a bunch of good weed in it, I like smokin buds in mine.

Capone: What’s special about our pre-rolls I love is you can take the pre-roll, scan the QR and hear the record. We’re the first people that can get you high and make you dance. Make you vibe. Scan the QR, smoke the bud, and have fun.

AllHipHop: How did the “Don’t Stop, Keep Goin’” song with Nas and DPG happen?

Daz: We did the song with Nas when he came to Cali. I had put him on there and then we had dropped the reel off at Death Row. Next thing I know, Tupac jumped in and mixed it. Kurupt came with the fire verse!

AllHipHop: Anything else you’d like to let us know?

Daz: Having a good time, ready to come out with this album Guidelines.

Capone: We’re ready to drop this thing!

Kanye West Could Be In Legal Trouble Over Campaign Promo Image

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West confused fans when he dropped the debut promo image for his 2020 U.S. presidential campaign, which featured images of Anna Wintour and Kirsten Dunst reportedly used without their permission.

The rapper announced he was taking on current POTUS Donald Trump for the White House slot earlier this year, although questions arose about how serious he was in his bid.

Since then, Kanye has proved he means business, by filing the legal paperwork needed to get on the ballot in states including Oklahoma, Utah and Vermont and even dropping his first-ever campaign image.

However, the snap led to confusion among many of Kanye’s devoted followers, thanks to the inclusion of the images of Vogue editor-in-chief Wintour and actress Kirsten Dunst alongside the phrase “Kanye 2020 Vision”.

Sources close to both stars confirmed that the images had been used without their permission.

Kirsten also addressed the image in a post on her Twitter page, sharing the campaign shot and writing alongside it: “What’s the message here, and why am I apart of it? (shrug emoji).”

Anna Wintour has yet to publicly address the promo.

Trey Songz Vows To Fight Jane Doe Accusing Him Of Sexual Assault

(AllHipHop News) R&B star Trey Songz is determined to keep his “head high” and “push forward” after fighting back against allegations of sexual misconduct.

The “Bottoms Up” hitmaker took to Twitter to defend himself after a woman called Aliza, also known as AJ, appeared on the No Jumper podcast with her friend, Instagram personality Celina Powell, and claimed she was once held hostage by Trey Songz and urinated on after giving him oral sex in a hotel suite bathroom.

“He took my phone and my purse away for like the whole day, held it over the balcony, and he was like, ‘B##ch, if you’re trying to leave, I’m gonna drop this s##t’,” Aliza said.

However, Trey Songz said that never happened, and proceeded to post screenshots of his previous direct messages with Aliza, who appeared to offer herself up for sexual encounters and begs him to unblock her on social media.

In one exchange, Aliza suggests a meet up in Los Angeles, but appears to fall asleep before Trey Songz responds.

“Y’all stay ready to believe a bird,” he captioned the post in response to the allegations.

He then began addressing other accusations leveled against him in recent months, insisting he refuses to stay silent when opportunists attempt to take advantage of the #MeToo movement against sexual misconduct.

“I usually stay quiet on this but I feel that in many ways the movement to fight for the women who actually have suffered harassment and abuse on various levels, has been hijacked by those who find it convenient for themselves to come up (become famous) as they seek to destroy someone’s life,” he tweeted.

“I brush it off everytime but once you have an allegation no matter it’s true weight in validation, it’s now happened once and to some will be believable from that moment forward. None of that happened.”

He then turned his attention to a Georgia woman only identified in court as “Jane Doe”, who sued him for sexual battery earlier this year regarding an alleged incident in Miami, Florida in 2018.

“Y’all remember Jane Doe claimed I sexually assaulted her in Miami?” he continued. “She wants me to pay for her therapy and the rest of her school cause of ‘all the trauma she’s been through.”

Trey Songz then posted screenshots from another female who had been present during the 2018 encounter, who had contacted the star, offering to testify on his behalf as she expressed her shock at the sexual battery accusations, because she hadn’t witnessed anything of the sort.

“Pls (please) read,” he wrote beside the posts, which appeared to detail the night in question.

He concluded his tweets by vowing to overcome the attacks on his character as he thanked his fans for standing by him throughout the controversies.

“You will choose 2believe what you want,” he added. “I’ve been focusing my energy and time on good things and I know the Devil wants my soul more now than ever.

“Ima keep my head high and push forward. If you holdin me down (supporting me) in these moments I preciate that.”

A Coalition Of Artists Creatively Bring The Pain To Donald Trump In Battleground States

(AllHipHop News) A cadre of artists and activists have convened creatively to remind Americans of the evils that have been perpetrated against the nation since Donald Trump has been elected president.

RemememberWhatTheyDid.com and #VoteThemOut serve as a catalyst and spark that will target underserved communities using visual arts on billboards.

Shepard Fairey, known politically as the creator of the Obama “Change” poster, Nekisha Durrett, Nate Lewis, Rafael Lopez, Robert Russell, Rob Sheridan, and Swoon (Caledonia Curry) are the artists that will jump-start the street art campaign.

Artist Nakeisha Durrett said she hopes her art, which highlights racism, will lead people to the polls.

“The Covid pandemic coupled with continued police brutality brought to the surface inequities across race and gender in every facet of American life,” said Durrett. “This reckoning with America’s racist legacy has been led by young activists who have taken the movement for Black Lives to the streets. The artwork embodies the energy of these young activists in an effort to connect to communities on a visceral level and to move everyone to the voting booth in November.”

The effort is a partnership with Collective Super PAC, a political organization dedicated to building Black political power with candidate support and nationwide voter registration and education campaigns.

The revered artists will focus largely on U.S. President Donald Trump’s “failed leadership” on key issues like police brutality, racism, hate speech, immigration, and the Coronavirus pandemic, which has killed over 170,000 Americans.

Shepard Fairey’s art points squarely at Donald Trump and his handling of largely peaceful protests all over the nations.

“My art piece is a reminder that while the American public was protesting in the streets, in record numbers, against racism and police brutality, Donald Trump was encouraging police brutality against the protesters, reinforcing the very same problems within law enforcement and the criminal justice systems the protesters were demanding to be reformed. This image implies that the police are supposed to be peacekeepers, not warriors, and that Donald Trump is on the wrong side of social justice and the wrong side of history!”

The RemememberWhatTheyDid campaign blasts off in Detroit, Michigan, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Phoenix, Arizona, all battleground areas. The brutally honest billboards will be seen with a poster street art campaign. The art will feature controversial, but real statements from Trump and his cronies.

RememberWhatTheyDid.com will not only host this incredible art, but it will offer voter registration, offer education on early voting, and even possible crowdfunding options for additional billboards in battleground states.

“These images are a stark reminder of the atrocities perpetrated by this President and his allies. We are connecting what has been said and done with the importance of voting. Our message is simple: Remember what they did and vote them out,” said Bell.

RememberWhatTheyDid.com is the brainchild of Robin Bell and Scott Goodstein, a digital strategist who advised President Barack Obama during his first presidential campaign.

“Robin Bell and I [sought] to push aggressive messaging mixed with emotional graphics that speak directly to the movements that are happening on the streets,” Goodstein told AllHipHop exclusively. “This is a collaboration with some of our nation’s best artists from all genres to visually show the issues and give reasons why voting is so critical this November. We have to make sure that all voters are spoken with and I could not sit on the sidelines knowing that many voters were not ever going to see most political digital ads.”

The RemememberWhatTheyDid campaign is a project of Artists United for Change.

Eve Recalls Getting Dropped From Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment On ‘Ruff Ryders Chronicles’

(AllHipHop News) On August 12, BET began airing a five-part docuseries titled Ruff Ryders Chronicles. The program presents the history of the iconic Hip Hop label known as Ruff Ryders Entertainment.

Legendary members of the Ruff Ryders roster provided commentary for the documentary. Swizz Beatz, DMX, The Lox, and Eve are among the insiders to share stories about their time with the record company started by Joaquin “Waah” Dean, Darin “Dee” Dean, and Chivon Dean.

Before Eve joined the New York-based imprint, she was actually signed to Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. The “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” rapstress spoke about her departure from Aftermath on episode 2 of Ruff Ryder Chronicles.

“I went from being at home at my mom’s house to taking a flight to LA so that I could record a demo to play for Dre. I will never forget after I recorded this demo, Dre heard it and was like, ‘Let’s make a deal,'” recalled Eve.

She added, “I remember that when I was working with Dre, Eminem did get signed. So I would literally show up to studio sessions that I wasn’t supposed to be at, where I knew Dre was going to be, and be like, ‘When am I recording? When are you going to put me on a song? What’s going on?'”

The current co-host for CBS’s The Talk continued, “I think [Dr. Dre] got sick of that. And I got dropped [from the label] eight months later.” Eve went on to release four studio albums and win a Grammy. As an actress, she starred in films such as Barbershop as well as her own self-titled television sitcom.

Episode one of Ruff Ryders Chronicles pulled in 1.1 million total viewers. The premiere was simulcast across BET and BET Her. A two-hour series finale is scheduled to air on Wednesday, August 26. BET also recently ran the No Limit Chronicles docuseries which brought in 3.1 million total viewers during its initial three-week run.

Pharrell Williams & Jay-Z To Release Black Ambition-Themed Song “Entrepreneur”

(AllHipHop News) Pharrell Williams and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter created a new record titled “Entrepreneur” as part of Time magazine’s “The New American Revolution” cover package. The Neptunes-produced song is set to arrive on Friday, August 21.

“The intention for a song was all about how tough it is to be an entrepreneur in our country to begin with,” Pharrell explained to Time. “Especially as someone of color, there’s a lot of systemic disadvantages and purposeful blockages.”

The 13-time Grammy winner continued, “How can you get a fire started, or even the hope of an ember to start a fire, when you’re starting at disadvantages with regards to health care, education, and representation?”

“Entrepreneur” includes Jay-Z spitting bars about Black Twitter, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, Gucci, and FUBU. The topics of supporting Black-owned businesses, systemic racism in America, and financial freedom are also covered in the Pharrell-curated “The Next American Revolution.”

21 SavageTyler the Creator, Kenya BarrisAngela Davis, Yara Shahidi, Naomi Osaka, Geoffrey Canada, Barbara Lee, Jamal Bowman, and other African-Americans contributed to Time‘s latest issue. Pharrell Williams also penned an article under the heading “America’s Past and Present Are Racist. We Deserve a Black Future.”

“Many Americans assume that the recent conversations about systemic racism and inequality are a result of a “moment of reckoning.” But I know this conversation dates back to those first ’20 and odd Negroes’—as Jamestown colonist John Rolfe wrote in a letter—who became investment property as soon as they touched the shores of this independently owned and operated franchise called America,” wrote Williams.
