(AllHipHop News) Reactions to the February 19 murder of Bashar “Pop Smoke” Jackson are still pouring in from other rappers. One of the latest people to express their thoughts on Pop’s death is fellow Brooklyn Drill artist Jeffrey “22Gz” Alexander.
“All beef aside, I feel sorry for boy. This type of stuff is the reason I move with who I move with and move the way we move. Becoming another casualty isn’t that plan for any of us. Sleep in peace to homie. May his family find peace in all of this madness,” tweeted 22GZ on Thursday afternoon.
The representative of Kodak Black’s Sniper Gang also tweeted, “Idk about y’all. But I’m about growth and development. Not dissing black men who die from senseless violence. So please keep the negative comments to yourself please! #FreeKodak.”
Last year, Pop Smoke and 22Gz were among the five acts that were barred from performing at the Rolling Loud New York festival. The New York Police Department reportedly requested event organizers to remove Pop, 22, Don Q, Sheff G, and Casanova from the fest’s lineup over “public safety concerns.”

The Seattle native is 100% sure he’s going to be the biggest Asian hip-hop artist to ever grace the music industry — or the world period. He was adopted at 8-years-old and at 15-year’s-old, Swang began creating.
While he likes nice things, the “Tryin’” artist reminds you he’s not doing music for the money, it’s merely his one true love. His peers in high school thought he was a joke while his parents didn’t believe he was serious.
From recording downstairs in the basement to now collaborating with the likes of Asian Doll and Casey Veggies, Swang can hardly hold in the excitement for what the future holds.
AllHipHop: Being from Seattle, what was that like?
Swang: Seattle… [sighs] Actually, I was working with Lil Mosey. There’s a lot of talented Seattle artists out there, but sad thing is that they’re not able to be put on the platform. I’m in a studio with a couple of my friends from the south end of Seattle, and it’s a struggle to get out. For real.
AllHipHop: What was the inspiration behind your name?
Swang: My last name’s Wang, so we just put an S in front of it with a dollar sign. That was it.
AllHipHop: You just released “Lost It,” what inspired this one?
Swang: I released “Lost It,” just on SoundCloud. We didn’t do any promotion on that. Just the people around you. When you have money or when you’re doing something successful, there’s a lot of fake friends out there. They aren’t really caring about you. That’s what the song was about. To be honest, I have probably 3 albums done. There’s an upcoming project, I hope you go listen to it. It’s probably the worst songs in our inventory. The worst 8 songs, but I’m putting it out. After that, you guys are going to start hearing bangers.
AllHipHop: How was working with Asian Doll?
Swang: It’s great! I made that two weeks ago, then I sent it to her. They really liked it.
AllHipHop: You were locked up for 7 months, what happened?
Swang: That’s a cool story, it was actually my 21st birthday. Went to a casino, I’m having a drink. I’ll put it this way: I wasn’t hanging out with the right person at the time. The cops pulled up and found stuff in my car that wasn’t mine.
AllHipHop: Was it drugs?
Swang: Something like that. He didn’t claim it was his so we both got charged with it. I got charged with a heavier charge because it was in my car. The police wanted to take my car. They wanted to impound my car, seize it so they could sell it. That was their whole point, they know that I didn’t do it. But at the same time, I’m not going to snitch on nobody. So I sat in jail and just rode the charge for him. For 8 months man, it was a tough time.
AllHipHop: Biggest lesson behind bars?
Swang: Don’t take anything for granted. When you have nothing, you really have nothing. If I take all my clothes off, you put me in a tank with the rest of them. Everybody dresses the same, you’re just like one of them.
Friend: Jail food: tortillas with top ramen and Hot Cheetos. He makes it at home.
Swang: Spread. They feed you bread, no meat. Veggies, water, bread and butter. That’s it. It was definitely a rough time. Definitely hit me a little bit. It is what it is. On the album, there’s actually a song called “Cold” I wrote about that story.
AllHipHop: Favorite person to follow on IG?
Swang: My homies. The celebrity stuff is cool, but quote me on this: in a year, I will be the best hip-hop Asian artist out here.
AllHipHop: Even Rich Brian?
Swang: Rich Brian has nothing. Rich Brian’s music has nothing compared to mine that I have right now, not unreleased. Rich Brian, I saw you did an interview with him. I mean, we’re both Asian. I’m not hating on him. I support what he’s doing, I like what he’s doing. But you can tell him I said that: Rich Brian has nothing on me.
AllHipHop: Is there anything else you want to let us know?
Swang: Who’s Rich Brian? [laughs] It’s all love, but there’s not a lot of Asian artists getting acknowledged in the hip-hop industry. The style of music I’m making can blend into K-pop, pop, R&B, but mainly trap music. At the end of the day, I’m just trying to prove a point to my parents that I can really do this. I can prove a point to all these Asian kids out here that like music, that they can do this. Everybody can do this.
(AllHipHop News) Rapper Ralo is mounting a defense in his ongoing federal case for allegedly transporting hundreds of pounds of marijuana in a private jet.
Lawyers for Ralo just filed a motion asking for the court’s permission to test the high-grade marijuana federal agents seized from his private jet.
“Mr. Davis, through counsel, has been asking the United States Attorney’s Office for permission for an independent expert to view, test and examine, the alleged marijuana at issue in the case…” Ralo’s lawyer Brian Steel wrote.
Ralo is asking a judge to assign the date so his independent experts can examine the evidence because the United States Attorney’s Office has not provided a date yet.
“Defendant, Terrell Davis, by and through undersigned counsel and hereby files this Motion to Test, Inspect and Examine the Supposed Marijuana at Issue in the above-referenced case,” Brian Steel revealed.
Ralo, born Terrell Davis, was under Federal investigation for allegedly running a drug empire from 2017 until his arrest in 2018.
(AllHipHop News) Pharrell Williams has joined the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s Board of Directors.
The “Happy” hitmaker, 47, joins the organization alongside a host of record and entertainment executives, including Universal Music Group’s Michele Anthony and Jody Gerson, and Sony/ATV Music Publishing’s Jon Platt.
According to Variety, announcing the Board’s new members, its chairman John Sykes said: “We’re both fortunate and honored to welcome these creative leaders in music and entertainment to our Board.
“Each brings to our Board deep experience and extensive knowledge of music that will help us continue to grow the Foundation as a true cultural institution.”
The Foundation’s board helps oversee each year’s inductees to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, with the class of 2020 featuring Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., and T.Rex.
According to the organization’s statement, the Board of Directors will, “support the Foundation’s mission to engage, teach and inspire through the power of rock and roll, recognizing the indelible role Rock And Roll music plays in modern life and culture.”
This year’s induction ceremony will take place on May 2nd at the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio.

Now, in his defense, he was rooted in some sort of spiritual base many years ago. However, that was a long time ago. Last year, Kanye dropped Jesus Is King.
He collaborated with people like Joel Olsteen and expanded his base by doing these weird performance art pieces. People ate it up and Kanye made more money last year than he had in a great many years. All from #SundayService and religion!
That video shows the massive nature of the choir. I am not sure what those people got paid, but even if they got minimum wage, that’s a lot of money when you add it all up! MC Hammer didn’t have a squad that big! I don’t know why, but the crew has been released.
My source tells me that Kanye is unaware of the unceremonious release of these fine human beings, but I do not believe this. How could he NOT know that HIS choir is being fired/laid off? It does not make any sense to me. So, I think perhaps there was some messaging to keep Ye from being the bad guy. Just my opinion.

Spotify is set to highlight Cash Money and its co-founders Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams in a docuseries titled New Cash Order. The four-part program will debut on February 21 within the streaming service’s influential Hip Hop playlist called RapCaviar.
Birdman and Slim rose from the Magnolia Housing Projects in New Orleans to become multi-millionaire businessmen. New Cash Order will present their progress through interviews and archival footage. In addition, the new Cash Money logo will be unveiled.
Episode 1 will focus on Cash Money’s local success which allowed them to land a historic deal with Universal Music Group. Episode 2 presents the advancement of the brand with the groundbreaking paths of rap superstars Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj.

(AllHipHop News) There was some confusion about the upcoming Lovers & Friends Festival when it was first announced. Lil Kim was named as one of the acts for the concert, but the Hip Hop legend initially blasted the event’s official flyer as “fake.”
Snoop Dogg, who is one of the promoters for Lovers & Friends, had to publicly address Kim’s comments. The entertainment icon said in an Instagram video, “Lil Kim, get at me on the DM, so we can get at you about this money. We were talking to some of your peoples. Or we thought we were talking to some of your peoples.”
It appears the Queen Bee will be in Los Angeles on May 9 for the event along with Lauryn Hill, Usher, Ludacris, TLC, Brandy, Monica, Ja Rule, and other music stars. Lil Kim took to Twitter to confirm her involvement with Snoop’s Lovers & Friends Festival.

(AllHipHop News) Initial reports suggested that Bashar “Pop Smoke” Jackson’s murder was possibly the result of a robbery gone wrong. However, surveillance video from the scene could present another motive for the killing.
An article published by TMZ claims video shows four men approaching the Hollywood Hills home where Pop Smoke was staying. Apparently, one of the suspects walked in the backdoor of the house where no cameras were located.
In addition, the website is reporting the shooter did not take anything from the residence which implies theft was not the gunman’s intent. No other people at the location were shot. The LAPD homicide unit is investigating the incident. As of press time, no arrests have been made.
On Wednesday, a Los Angeles police spokesman held a press conference about the home invasion. Pop Smoke was shot multiple times in the house and was later pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He was 20 years old.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Joe Budden is on someone’s bad side-yet again- after comments made on his, Joe Budden Podcast with Rory & Mal; this time the backlash is from his opinion on Kehlani’s latest single,”Valentine’s Day (Shameful).”
If you haven’t heard the song, Kehlani is basically exposing YG for all the pain he’s caused her in their relationship, and even claiming he used her for clout and recognition.
Budden and his pod-mates played the song and virtually butchered it. I’m guessing he is confused on the timing, simply because just last week the couple released a song together, “Konclusions,” and parading around town in love.
Well, Kehlani heard what Budden had to say about her and took to Twitter to express her frustrations. She called Budden a “liar,” saying he is a joke and this particular episode is filled with “misinformation, lies, and lameness.”
These tweets have been deleted, but not before Budden read them. He responded to the singer saying it’s all love and jokes.
I’m assuming the amount of hate he was receiving on social media irritated him causing him to respond with his own clap back.

Days later the world learned that the 20-year-old rapper was fatally shot during a home invasion in Hollywood Hills, California.
Pop Smoke’s tragic passing on February 19 has caused many music listeners to stream his songs on music apps. The Meet the Woo, Vol. 2 track “Dior” is currently ranked at #4 on Apple Music’s Top 100: USA chart.
“Dior” is also moving up the iTunes Hip Hop/Rap chart. The record sits at #6 on that tally. It is also living in the Top 50 on the iTunes All Genre chart. After premiering in September, the “Dior” music video has collected over 21 million views on YouTube.
Pop Smoke was born Bashar Barakah Jackson in Brooklyn, New York. According to police, a group of masked individuals entered the rental home belonging to Edwin Arroyave and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave where Jackson was living. He was shot multiple times before being pronounced dead at a local hospital.

“Ether” is spreading across Twitter because users are retweeting a video of Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren’s criticism of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Nas’ Ron Browz-produced record serves as the soundtrack for the viral clip.
“I’d like to talk about who we’re running against – a billionaire who calls women fat broads and horse-faced lesbians,” said Warren. “And no, I’m not talking about Donald Trump. I’m talking about Michael Bloomberg.”

Sanders is followed by former Vice President Joe Biden with 16% and Warren with 14.5%. Bloomberg is not competing in Nevada.
