(AllHipHop News) The latest edition of the Love & Hip Hop franchise debuted last night (January 1). Miami’s installment of the reality series has already sparked controversy.

Latin Trap producer Elijah “Young Hollywood” Sarraga offended a lot of viewers when he appeared to make anti-black statements about his self-described Afro-Latina castmate Amara La Negra. Young Hollywood could be heard saying Amara needed to be “more Beyoncé less Macy Gray” in order to work with her on music, and he stated she can’t be “elegant” with an Afro hairstyle.

“You’re just a little intense about this whole ‘African thing,'” Sarraga told Amara at one point. He later sarcastically referred to her as a “Nutella Queen.”

Social media began lashing out at Young Hollywood. “Black Twitter” dragged him for his critique of the Miami-raised Dominican performer, and Instagram users left hundreds of negative comments under Sarraga’s pictures.

In a bonus clip featured on VH1.com, Young Hollywood recognized he would likely face backlash for what he said on Love & Hip Hop: Miami. The “Check Yourself” segment included him admitting, “They’re gonna attack me for that.”

(AllHipHop News) It’s 2018 an apparently there are still debates taking place online about the shape of the planet. In case you forgot, Atlanta Hip Hop artist B.o.B made headlines in 2016 for presenting a premise that the Earth is actually flat.

B.o.B was mostly ridiculed on social media for his belief. He then got into a back-and-forth with famed astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and diss tracks were even released.

Another television science communicator recently took aim at the Flat Earth conspiracy theory. While speaking with Complex, Netflix star Bill Nye (aka Bill Nye The Science Guy) blasted B.o.B, Boston Celtics player Kyrie Irving, and other round world skeptics.

Nye even called Flat Earthers a “d######.” He stated, “The Earth is not flat people. What is wrong with you?”

B.o.B addressed the Bill Nye Saves The World host in an Instagram video. He suggested “The Science Guy” look into Eric Dubay, author of The Flat Earth Conspiracy.

“I grew up watching your show, but you got the wrong guy, my friend,” said Bobby Ray. “The Flat Earth information did not, by any way, start with me or my beliefs. I could point you to some books if you want to look more into it, but I think it’s about time you stop picking on rappers and athletes and really step up to the plate and talk to the big dogs.”

(AllHipHop News) Brian Imanuel is leaving the stage name “Rich Chigga” in 2017. The rising Indonesian rapper is simply using Brian now.

“Yes I now go by ‘Brian’. I have been planning to do this forever and I’m so happy to finally do it. I was naive and I made a mistake. New year, new beginning, happy new years,” says Brian.

The “Dat $tick” rhymer faced some public objections for the name Rich Chigga. Critics accused the 18-year-old 88rising representative of trying to appropriate the word “n-gga,” and he faced negative reactions for using the actual word in his music.

“My intent was to kinda help take the power out of that word so people would be less sensitive about it but I do understand if some people would be offended and I think doing it in that song’s enough,” he told Pigeons & Planes last July. “I’m not gonna do it anymore. I only say it when I’m jamming to rap music and it’s really good.”

Brian plans to release his debut project, Amen, on February 2. His discography currently includes “Gospel” with Keith Ape and XXXTentacion as well as “Crisis” with 21 Savage.

(AllHipHop News) Late last month, news broke that Nick Cannon was set to produce the upcoming movie She Ball. The film’s cast includes Cannon, Chris Brown, Evan Ross, and more.

The addition of Brown has caused some backlash over the actor/singer’s history of assaulting Rihanna and other behavior. Cannon was questioned by TMZ about the decision to work on the movie with the Heartbreak on a Full Moon creator.

“What about Sean Penn? Do they ever hate on his past and the movies he do?” responded Cannon. “It’s definitely a double standard. They want to turn a black man into a monster anytime they can.”

The motion picture tells the story of Avery Watts’ (Cannon) attempt to help save the Inglewood Community Center by cooperating with a women’s street basketball team.

The mogul is the newest celebrity ambassador for Weight Watchers.

As part of the new deal, DJ Khaled will be showcasing his weight loss Journey on his social media profiles throughout 2018.

Last night, Sean “Diddy” Combs hosted a lavish New Year’s Eve bash at his mansion in Miami, where Joe Budden revealed he was officially joining RevoltTV.

In December, Joe Budden announced his contract was up with Complex.

(AllHipHop News) The Game’s manager Wack100 is shooting down 40 Glocc’s latest claims that the Compton rapper impregnated a 15-year-old girl.

Reports claimed Game had sex with a 15-year-old from the U.K. who was supposedly expecting the rapper’s child.

In October, Game was forced to address the rumors, which were running rampant on social media.

Last week, 40 Glocc hit the headlines when he posted an alleged conversation between himself and the girl, claiming Game and Wack100 were paying to keep her silent.

Over the weekend, Wack100 addressed the claims head-on via his InstaStory.

“Do you know how high profile me and my client is? Dummy? If anything of that nature was to go on motherf##ker do you understand the police is coming to get us? Dummy? We jaywalk and motherf##kers see it and they coming to get us dummy. (AllHipHop News) Erica Garner, the daughter of Eric Garner, has died after suffering a massive heart attack on Christmas Eve.

Erica, 27, emerged as a fierce, unrelenting critic of the NYPD and police brutality after her father was murdered in Staten Island in 2014. Eric Garner was accused of selling cigarettes known as “loosies” and then the police attacked him, and then choked him to death. He told them he could not breathe 11 times and they continued to strangle him in an illegal chokehold.

Erica had a massive heart attack that resulted in brain damage. According to local ABC News, her mother, Esaw Snipes-Garner, Erica “went into cardiac arrest during an asthma attack and had since been in a coma.”

Snipes-Garner told ABC her daughter had a history of heart attacks, with her first being in August. She would find out later than her heart was enlarged after the birth of her son.

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Snoop Dogg has teamed up with bosses at U.S. fast food restaurant Jack in the Box to create a custom meal combination.

The Merry Munchie Meals will be launched in California in January, at the same time recreational marijuana becomes legal in the state.

The combos will include three chicken strips, two tacos, five churros, French fries, onion rings, and a small drink for $4.20.

The box for the meals will feature the marijuana leaf logo from Snoop’s cannabis brand Merry Jane, but will only be available for the first week of January in the avid marijuana smoker’s hometown of Long Beach.

They will consider expanding the promo if the meals sell well.

“We are about welcoming all of our guests, no matter what they’re craving or why they’re craving it,” Iwona Alter, Jack in the Box’s chief marketing officer, tells Bloomberg.



(AllHipHop News) Mike Epps has reportedly been sent a cease-and-desist letter by producers who claim he stole their idea for a TV awards show.

Executives at network BET announced at the start of the December that they had teamed up with “The Hangover” actor and comedian, who will serve as executive producer of the BET Social Awards, a televised awards show which celebrates the best and worst people, and moments on social media over the past year.

However, producers Calvin Valrie, LaMichael Finney and Bervick J. Deculus have accused Epps of stealing their idea and have hired a legal team and sent a cease-and-desist letter to Epps.

In the letter, obtained by TMZ.com , they claim they pitched a similar show, titled Social Media Awards, to Epps’ cousin in the hope of getting the funnyman onboard back in February.

They never heard back and were shocked when BET executives announced their similar awards ceremony.

The producers have told the website they are willing to continue working with Epps, but had planned on selling their show to FOX instead.

They have given him until today (December 29) to yield to their demands or they will pursue legal options.

The BET Social Awards are currently set to air live on February 11 on BET.
