Did Kendrick Lamar Drop A Hint About The ‘Black Panther’ Soundtrack?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox7RsX1Ee34

(AllHipHop News) The two Black Panther trailers released by Marvel so far have featured Run The Jewels’ “Legend Has It” and Vince Staples’ “BagBak.” With a Hip Hop friendly director in Ryan Coogler at the helm, it would come as no surprise if the upcoming superhero motion picture is flavored with modern rap music.

So will an official Black Panther Hip Hop soundtrack be part of the movie’s roll-out? Kendrick Lamar gave a hint that a compilation project inspired by the story of the Wakanda king is in the works.

The TDE representative released the music video for his song “LOVE” featuring Zacari. At the 1:55 mark, a clapperboard appears with the words: “B.Panther,” “Soundtrack,” and “Coming Soon.”

It’s already been reported that K. Dot’s “DNA” plays during a scene in the movie. Coogler and Black Panther lead actor Chadwick Boseman spoke about the T’Challa-Kendrick synergy at San Diego’s Comic-Con in July.

“As soon as I heard it on his album for the first time I said, ‘They should use that song,'” stated Boseman. “I just thought it would fit. I didn’t know if they’d do it or not, but I thought it was perfect.”

Coogler added, “The lyrics are amazing – a lot of Kendrick’s are.”

Music from movies was a trendy subject in 2017. Fifty Shades Darker Soundtrack, Beauty and the Beast Soundtrack, The Fate Of The Furious: The Album, Wonder Woman Soundtrack, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Awesome Mix Vol. 2, Baby Driver (Music from the Motion Picture), Star Wars: The Last Jedi Soundtrack, and Bright: The Album all made headlines this year.

Black Panther is scheduled for release on February 16. Swedish record producer Ludwig Göransson (Childish Gambino, Chance The Rapper) composed the film’s score.

Did Diddy Give Joe Budden “The Bag”?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Joe Budden is basically a master of making it. I mean, he is truly an exception to the rule as far as rappers go. He has managed to completely revamp his career into a successful media figure after a long run as a rapper-turned-reality star.

Recently, Joe unceremoniously left the “Everyday Struggle” show, a show he had with DJ AK, and it was a big deal. People were acting like another bomb was dropped on Hiroshima or something. I didn’t know that it was so tragic that he left. But, to people, it was. And rightfully so, Joe is a personality and a unique dude in this space. A lot of people tried to marginalize what he brings to the table, namely Complex. Yeah fans, but ultimately Complex did not seem to respect that he actually brought the table to them. Anyway, Complex has since cancelled “Everyday Struggle” altogether. I am certain they will find some other cheap former rapper or unfiltered personality to fill that void. But Joe knows his worth.

Joe recently revealed that he met with Diddy and seemed to be pleased with what he came back with. Nothing definite, but word on the street is, he’s getting that money. And that’s a lovely thing.

Bob Marley’s ‘Legend’ Spends 500th Week On The Billboard 200 Chart

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2SJkEDw1E8

(AllHipHop News) No, Bob Marley is not a Hip Hop artist. However, the Reggae icon’s tunes and activism did inspire generations of rappers as well as other musicians.

Marley’s cultural impact is still felt 36 years after his death. Proof of that influence is demonstrated by the fact Legend: The Best of Bob Marley and The Wailers compilation album has now spent 500 nonconsecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 (presently #170).

According to Billboard, 1984’s Legend has the second-most weeks on the chart, only behind Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon with 934 weeks. The classic project by Marley and his band is currently certified 15x platinum by RIAA.

Bob Marley’s name can be found in numerous Hip Hop lyrics. Songs like A Tribe Called Quest’s “Scenario,” Jay-Z’s “Empire State Of Mind,” Nas’ “Accident Murderers,” Puff Daddy’s “Young G’s,” Styles P’s “Good Times,” Noname’s “Paradise,” Boosie Badazz’s “Black Heaven,” Tory Lanez’s “Bodmon Song,” and Joyner Lucas’ “DNA.(Remix)” feature shout outs to the late Jamaican singer-songwriter.

SZA Releases “The Weekend” Music Video Directed By Solange Knowles

https://youtu.be/cMD63TwzB1o

(AllHipHop News) SZA has been teasing the music video for her popular song “The Weekend” for a while. Visuals for the Ctrl track are now available via YouTube.

Fellow R&B singer Solange Knowles directed the video. SZA spoke to MTV about creating the clip.

“We both have tastes, but it expresses in different ways. Her expression of shapes, her usage of color, and her filling of negative space, it’s very abstract,” stated the TDE artist about working with Solange. “I’m a very whimsical person but in a different way. Her whimsy is very refined, exciting, and very mysterious. It’s cool.”

“The Weekend” is up for the Best R&B Performance award at the 2018 Grammys. SZA was also nominated for Best New Artist, Best Urban Contemporary Album (Ctrl), Best R&B Song (“Supermodel”), and Best Rap/Sung Performance (“Love Galore” with Travis Scott).

Axel Leon Puts Hip-Hop On Notice: He’s Here For The Long Haul

By Charlton Wallace

(AllHipHop Features) By observing the mixtape name and cover, die-hard Christians may conclude Axel was trying to emulate our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. This project is far from it, but harkens to the worldly views of Kanye West as Yeezus. Also known as “JUICE”,JuiceMan, or Young JUGO, the South Bronx native has taken off in full force in the game after years in the Hip-Hop underground scene. To some, he is already stamped as a future King and a notable to look out for before he blows. He also has declared that boom bap and punch lines are still relevant in today’s rap. He’s proven himself time and time again, on a plethora of platforms. Now, the New York homegrown emcee has been able to satisfy his supporters with his “‘Juicus Christ” mixtape.

In the “Intro’’, Axel distributes heartfelt pain on a slow pianola-laden beat. He reflects on past experiences and struggles he has had to encounter. Fans of Leon’s will be contented with “Juicus Christ” even though this is not a lyrical piece of art. It’s a moderately personal tape with different element of lanes, you may have not seen him in before. He steps out of his element and give audiences a dose of catchy and some R&B trap content. “High Rollers” has a Sasquatch beat and will have audiences head-nodding while still listening. “Phases” is a zoned- record with a slow-tempo lit beat but will have you jigging. It is not intend to be a club anthem, but will make a car ride with friends an adventure.

“Cloud 9” is a rhythm and blues appeal with trap intent, featuring another Bronx rookie Angelica Vila. This is the Axel Leon fans have never heard from. The record is a obscene trapsoul allure with weed-smoke as the prime topic. “Real Life’’ is a hypebeast- motorsport pattern record, that mimics a song from off a Fast and Furious soundtrack. “Regrets” has a gospel- spinet feel but flows and lyrics grabs audiences. It resembles acclaimed song “Lean on Me” but has a more wavy feel. Juice rides the beat cool, calm, and collected, while spilling out his thoughts and foreshadowing.  On “Sometimes” Axel Leon expresses his anxiety and feelings and tellings listeners how “he really feels”. He sing-talks the chorus and surf-boards the beat. “Bad Habits” is most-likely the best song on the tape. Axel has perfected the artwork of storytelling and picture-painting lyrics. The song is very relatable and is very-much both sided. He lets audiences into the thought process of both characters.

Axel Leon has already established that he’s a certified spitter. “Juicus Christ” is proof that he can emerge from underground freestyle sessions into stardom.

Will Smith Cannot Bear Watching Himself In “The Fresh Prince”

(AllHipHop News) Will Smith struggles to watch early episodes of “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” as he’s embarrassed by his acting.

Will started out as a rapper in the 1980s, but became a major TV star after playing a fictionalized version of himself in the hit sitcom – which debuted in 1990.

Despite the show making his name as an actor, the “Men In Black” star confesses he finds it difficult to watch some episodes as his enthusiasm got the better of him during filming.

“It was my very first role and I was very, very focused on being successful so I learnt the whole script and everyone else’s lines,” the 49-year-old actor told U.K. chat show host Graham Norton. “If you watch the first four or five episodes you can see I’m mouthing other people’s lines. It’s terrible and I can’t bear to watch it.”

The Hollywood superstar reunited with his old music partner DJ Jazzy Jeff, who also played Will’s best pal Jazz in “The Fresh Prince,” earlier this year for two gigs.

After their musical reunion Jeff expressed his hopes that Will would agree to bring back “The Fresh Prince.”

“There have been talks with people about doing something,” he confessed to British newspaper The Sun. “I think it would be cool if they did it and go down memory lane again.”

Will is less optimistic, however, and jokes he’d now have to take on the role of Uncle Phil, his character’s adopted guardian, who was played by the late James Avery.

He told Graham, “Man, I’d have to be Uncle Phil in that one now I’m nearly 50!”

James passed away in 2013, and Will’s co-star Alfonso Ribeiro has said the show will never be revived as it “doesn’t work” without the late actor.

Cardi B Almost Quit Rap After She Was Cut From A Song

(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop sensation Cardi B nearly abandoned her rap dreams last Christmas after she was cut from a star-studded song.

The former “Love & Hip Hop: New York” reality star took the charts by storm this summer with the success of her debut single “Bodak Yellow,” but Cardi almost walked away from the industry following a devastating setback.

In a recent chat on Instagram Live, she explained to fans, “I did a verse to somebody’s song, and other artists was in the song as well, and I was so excited because I felt like my verse was so poppin’ (hot).

“Then, the artist told me that I couldn’t be on the song anymore because one of the artists that was on the song felt like I was too small (not famous enough), and they were too big for me to be on the same song with them (sic).”

Cardi didn’t name the track or the musician she had recorded the song for but revealed it took place around the holidays, shortly after quitting Love & Hip Hop: New York. She left the show at the end of season seven last year.

“That s##t broke my heart so bad, it broke my heart to pieces,” she continued.

Despite wanting to give up on her music career, Cardi pressed on, and has since scored features on G-Eazy’s “No Limit,” Migos and Nicki Minaj’s collaboration “Motorsport,” and Latin singer Ozuna’s new release, “La Modelo,” while she is planning to drop another single, “Bartier Bardi,” with 21 Savage on Friday.

Cardi is currently working on completing her debut album, but she has urged fans to be patient.

“A b##ch is gonna put something out,” she assured viewers. “You think I’m gonna hold s##t, or (label bosses at) Atlantic is gonna hold s##t because we just blatantly feel like it? No. We wanna make money as fast as we can.”

She went on to blame sample clearance issues and other factors for the album delay.

The World Famous Tony Williams Liberates His Visual For “#1 Fan”

For the second video release from The World Famous Tony Williams’ upcoming solo album, he enlists his long time writing partner and co-collaborator, Ron “Kat” Spearman to concoct the funk ballad #1 Fan. Spearman, a P-Funk All Star alumnus spent several years touring with the God Father of Funk, George Clinton, as a guitarist, bassist and vocalist. For the last few years (with George’s blessing), Spearman has dedicated his craft and time to his own band, Katdelic, a Bay Area favorite known for their sold out shows.

Embodying the essence of being an eclectic project, Williams uses #1 Fan to educate his audience and communicate that breakups don’t have to equal bitterness. The song veers slightly to the other side of the road from the first single, Money which features Pharohe Monch, a bluesy rock inspired banger that also served as the lead off number for his June release, The 7th Day.

My new sound is my old sound, and Ronkat and I went to school together on this funk stuff a long time ago”- TWFTW

The complete title of the album is a mouthful… The World Famous Tony Williams: TO GAIN THE WORLD, King or The Fool (an opera) Volume II is the sequel to his 2012 release King or the Fool (an opera) Volume I. The release date for the 12 track and 9 skit album is set for January 2018 and includes credits from Spearman, Marsha Ambrosius and more.

French Montana Dating Reality Star Evelyn Lozada

(AllHipHop News) Rapper French Montana has reportedly struck up a romance with U.S. reality star Evelyn Lozada.

The “Unforgettable” hitmaker is said to have helped celebrate the “Basketball Wives” beauty’s recent 42nd birthday with a bash at his Los Angeles home, where she was pictured blowing out candles on her cake.

Evelyn posted the image on social media, making no mention of Montana, but eagle-eyed fans noticed the decor was strikingly similar to that of the hip-hop star’s pad and began speculating about a possible new relationship.

Now sources tell The Blast the new couple is getting to know one another, and although the stars have yet to make the romance official, they are “taking things slow”.

French previously dated fellow rapper Iggy Azalea, as well as another reality TV regular, Khloe Kardashian, who is now expecting her first child with basketball star Tristan Thompson.

Lozada is also no stranger to high-profile romances – she used to be married to retired American footballer Chad Ochocinco and called off her engagement to former baseball player Carl Crawford in August.

Eminem, Beyonce & The Weeknd Reportedly Headlining Coachella

(AllHipHop News) Eminem, Beyonce and The Weeknd have reportedly been tapped to headline California’s Coachella festival next year.

The “Formation” singer was originally due to headline the event back in April, but was forced to pull out as she was expecting twins.

Having given birth to Sir and Rumi Carter in June, according to Consequence of Sound, she is now set to return to perform at the festival which will be held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California in April 2018.

Industry sources tell the website that Beyonce will be joined by Eminem and The Weeknd in headlining the event’s main stage.

If the report is true then it will be the first time festival bosses have not signed up any rock acts as headliners.

Rumors have also linked Beyonce with a reunion with her old Destiny’s Child bandmates Michelle Williams, Kelly Rowland LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson.

Fans have speculated a top-secret project LaTavia teased on Twitter could be a reunion, more than five years after Beyonce joined Michelle and Kelly to perform at the Super Bowl.

Kelly Rowland has quashed rumors the band will get back together for Coachella however, telling People magazine “I have no idea about any of that. I mean, I gladly accept that very much but it’s nothing that we recently talked about.”

Both Eminem and The Weeknd would also be playing their first headline Coachella shows, with the former only having appeared in a guest slot with Dr.Dre in 2012.

The Weeknd is a regular Coachella performer and appeared as a surprise guest at this year.

An official announcement naming those who will headline the festival is expected next month.

Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar, and Lady Gaga, who stepped in for Beyonce, headlined the 2017 event.
