Vic Mensa Talks Mending Estranged Friendship With Chance The Rapper (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper are two of the hottest emcees to emerge from Chicago over the last few years.

The 2014 XXL Freshmen actually rose in the city’s Hip Hop scene together as members of the SaveMoney crew.

Last summer, observers began speculating Vic and Chance had a falling out after Mensa posted an Instagram picture with Jay-Z and Beyoncé, but Chance was purposely blacked out of the photo.

Vic Mensa stopped by The Breakfast Club for an interview, and Charlamagne Tha God insisted that the “Say I Didn’t” rhymer get cool with Chance again.

“We’ve been talking,” responded Mensa. “I feel like that’s also part of my journey – putting this positive energy into the world.”

He continued, “Chance is my brother. We grew up together. If you ever had a brother, you know brother’s fight. Especially growing up and everybody is there to watch it.”

The current status of Vic and Chance’s relationship is not exactly clear, but the Coloring Book creator has been supportive of Mensa’s new album The Autobiography.

“Me & Vic met at a high school open mic when we were 14. We’ve been on this journey for [a long] time. This is much bigger than a moment THIS IS MY BROTHERS DEBUT ALBUM,” Chance wrote on IG two weeks ago.

Mensa was featured on Chance’s 2012 mixtape 10 Day as well as his 2013 breakout project Acid Rap.

Chance returned the favor by contributing to “Tweakin'” off Vic’s 2013 debut Innanetape.

“We ain’t supposed to beef. The city needs us to be unified. That’s the place that I’m at,” added Mensa.

Me & Vic met at a high school open mic when we were 14. We’ve been on this journey for along time. This is much bigger than a moment THIS IS MY BROTHERS DEBUT ALBUM. I’ve decided I’m waiting til it drops to listen. I’ve been through a lot with him but I want to hear it told in his words. #TheAutobiography JULY 28 ???

New York Firm Reportedly Used False Connection To Jay-Z To Help Pull Off Ponzi Scheme

(AllHipHop News) Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and his Roc Nation entertainment company were used as a way to con investors out of millions of dollars, according to reports.

The New York Post cites legal documents showing Cardis International orchestrated a Ponzi scheme by claiming to have a connection to Carter.

Cardis supposedly sent emails to its alleged victims claiming it was hired by Roc Nation for bill processing.

Roc Nation’s Director Of Mobile Strategies, Briant “Beehigh” Biggs, denied Jay’s brand had a business relationship with the firm.

Biggs is listed as a member of the Advisory Board for Cardis on the company’s website.

Court papers claim Cardis International swindled $70 million in a Bernie Madoff-like plot.

Federal prosecutors are said to be investigating the Long Island based firm for fraud.

SZA: TDE Stole My Hard Drive In Order To Release ‘Ctrl’ Album

(AllHipHop News) SZA followers waited several years for the R&B songstress to release her debut studio album.

Ctrl finally arrived on June 9 to critical acclaim.

According to SZA, the project only saw the light of day because her Top Dawg Entertainment label took extreme measures to get the music out.

“They just took my hard drive from me,” SZA told The Guardian. “I just kept f-cking everything up. I just kept moving sh-t around. I was choosing from 150, 200 songs, so I’m just like, who knows what’s good anymore?”

The “Drew Barrymore” singer admitted if some unknown person from TDE had not taken those recordings, the version the public got to hear may have been different.

“I’m also driving myself f-cking crazy, so I don’t know. Give me another month and it would have been something completely different,” said SZA.

Last October, SZA seemed to be fine with Top Dawg taking control of her release date.

She tweeted (then deleted), “I actually quit. [TDE President Punch] can release my album if he ever feels like it. Y’all be blessed.”

Besides listening to the Ctrl album or attending the “Set It Off” tour with Bryson Tiller, fans can also hear SZA’s music on the HBO series Insecure.

A Tribe Called Quest Declares Panorama Festival As Their Final NYC Performance (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Last year, A Tribe Called Quest presented We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service, their final album as a group.

The legendary Hip Hop collective was part of the lineup for New York City’s Panorama festival on Sunday.

Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and Jarobi White used the occasion to announce the set would be their final performance in their hometown.

“This is our last show here in New York. That’s it as Tribe. You know, we gotta honor our brother, Phife Dawg,” said Q-Tip.

ATCQ founding member Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor passed away from diabetes complications in March 2016.

“We want to thank everybody in New York City for supporting A Tribe Called Quest since 1988 up to now,” Q-Tip also expressed to the NYC crowd. “And we want to thank all of y’all who extended all of your wishes, empathy, and prayers, not only to us, but to Phife’s family as well.”

Z-Ro Reportedly Sent Just Brittany Audio Confessing To Assaulting Her

(AllHipHop News) Houston native Z-Ro was arrested last week for allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend Just Brittany back in April.

According to TMZ, Ro recorded a song where the No Love Boulevard rapper reportedly confesses to attacking the Signed reality show cast member.

He then allegedly sent the recording to Brittany a month after the supposed incident took place.

The song features the lyrics:

I’m sorry, baby. I’m sorry, baby. I just can’t be your ho. I can’t believe I put my hands on you. I ain’t wanna do it. I was trying to blow 20 grand on you. The f-ck is a man gonna do with all this ungratefulness and hatefulness from the people I deal with and the woman I chill with.

‘The Breakfast Club’ Faces Backlash For Lil Duval’s Comments About Transgender Women

(AllHipHop News) Over the last few days, #BoycottTheBreakfastClub has become a protest trend on Twitter.

The social media backlash was the result of the radio show’s recent interview with Lil Duval.

“Shout out to all the trannys out there,” said Duval on the program.

Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee could be seen laughing before telling the comedian he should not use that term to describe transgender people.

When DJ Envy asked what he would do if he later found out a woman he slept with was actually transgender, Duval responded, “This might sound messed up – and I don’t care – she dying.

Charlamagne then warned the Grow House star that what he was suggesting could be considered a hate crime.

However, that did not stop the Power 105.1 morning crew from catching some heat themselves.

CTG even faced a small protest during his appearance at the Politicon event in California.

“Trans people are not a joke,” yelled one protester.

Both Lil Duval and Charlagmagne Tha God responded to the criticism on their respective social media accounts.

“I’m not apologizing for nothing. Y’all passing around a 34 second clip and purposely cut out when we told him he was wrong,” posted Charlagmagne on Twitter.

Duval wrote on Instagram:

So let me ask u slow ass transgender n-ggaz something. Y’all really think if u don’t tell a Man U use to be a man it’s gon be no repercussion to it? Yea ok ? if u can see why somebody would kill someone that rape them u should understand how a straight man feels. Matter fact I ain’t going back and forth with u confused n-gga b-tches

Lil Boosie Jacked For Over $300,000 – By His Own Brother

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Lil Boosie is dealing with a family crisis, after his own brother was arrested for stealing from him.

Earlier this month, Boosie had reported to police that someone had hacked into his Capital One bank account and drained it.

According to a shocking police report obtained by TMZ.com, it was Boosie’s brother Taquari who stole the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Taquari Hatch is accused of draining Boosie’s bank account of over $361,000.

In some instances, Taquari would pose as Lil Boosie.

In others, he would wire money to associates, who would then form over the cash.

An investigation was triggered, after Boosie’s brother Taquari falsely stated that he had a wife.

According to TMZ.com, this triggered a fraud investigation, because Lil Boosie is a single man.

Taquari has been charged with identity theft and fraud charges.

Kanye West Raps With Late Mom In New Documentary

(AllHipHop News) Unseen footage of Kanye West rapping with his late mom will feature in a new documentary which debuts in the U.K. on Monday.

The home video shows West in the kitchen with his mother Donda as he raps along to his 2005 hit “Hey Mamma,” two years before she died from heart complications arising from cosmetic surgery in 2007.

The clip will feature as part of “Public Enemies: JAY-Z vs Kanye,” a TV special which takes a close look at Kanye’s love-hate relationship with Jay-Z.

The New York rap mogul served as Kanye’s mentor at the beginning of his career, but the two hip-hop heavyweights have since fallen out and last year, West verbally attacked Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce during a concert.

He also accused the couple of turning their backs on him and his wife Kim Kardashian after she was attacked and held at gunpoint during a robbery in Paris, France last year.

R. Kelly Has Something To Say About ‘Sex Cult’ Allegations

(AllHipHop News) Earlier this month, editors at BuzzFeed News published a report quoting two sets of parents and three former members of his inner circle accusing Kelly, 50, of manipulating six women living in properties he rents in Atlanta, Georgia and Chicago, Illinois, and forcing them into an alleged sex “cult.”

Timothy and Jonjelyn Savage, who believe their 21-year-old daughter Joycelyn is involved with the singer, held a press conference calling on him to return their daughter to them. Another woman, who claims to have been involved with the R&B star, has also come forward to allege he is controlling the lives of several women.

Kelly denies all the allegations and he is keen to put all the drama behind him to head out on tour.

Posting a video, in which he addresses the drama ahead of a show on Friday in Virginia Beach, he says, “Despite all of the crap y’all hearing I will be coming to the East Coast to do my show. And believe me y’all, it’s a bunch of crap.”

The “I Believe I Can Fly” musician has so far denied all the allegations through his lawyer and Joycelyn Savage has also shot down her parents’ claims she is part of a sex cult.

“I am in a happy place in my life, and I’m not being brainwashed or anything like that,” she said in a video interview on TMZ. “I just want everybody to know, my parents and everybody in the world, that I am totally fine. I’m happy where I’m at, and everything is OK with me… I’ve never been held hostage or anything of that nature.”

According to BuzzFeed editors police officers in Atlanta and Chicago have performed welfare checks on Kelly’s rented properties, and found nothing to warrant further investigation.

Drake Has 24-Hour Security After Multiple Stalking Attempts

(AllHipHop News) An intruder who broke into Drake’s home in April and stole drinks has reportedly been arrested after returning to his mansion.

Mesha Collins, 24, tried to enter the “Hotline Bling” musician’s home in Los Angeles County’s Hidden Hills neighborhood on Thursday according to TMZ.com editors.

Law enforcement sources told the gossip site Collins told security guards she was on a list of people allowed into the $8 million property and refused to leave, causing Drake’s staff to call the police.

She then allegedly spat at police officers who subdued her with pepper spray and arrested her for trespassing and assaulting a police officer. Drake was not home at the time of the incident.

In April’s incident Collins was allegedly found in the “Controlla” singer’s home surrounded by opened water and soda bottles by a member of his entourage.

She was arrested for entering a residence with intent to steal the victim’s personal property and held on bail of $100,000, but the charges were dropped, reportedly after a request from hip-hop star himself.

According to Drake’s father Dennis Graham, after the break-in his son hired 24-hour security.

“He’s got 24-hour security now,” Dennis told TMZ.com. “He’s got security on the grounds, and in front, everywhere now.”

Another intruder was arrested after allegedly breaking into the house, which is undergoing extensive renovations, earlier this month.

The uninvited guest reportedly wanted to meet the 30-year-old rapper and looked up his address on a blog.

Shooketh! Is This The True Meaning Behind Jay-Z’s ‘4:44″ Title?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Wait a minute! Wait a minute!

Jay-Z fans were lead by Jay to believe that the inspiration behind the album’s ‘4:44’ title came from the fact that he supposedly woke up at 4:44 AM and wrote some of the lyrics.

It looks like a Twitter user has discovered the true meaning of the album title!

“I’m at The Standard where Solange beat Jay-Z’s ass in the elevator. THE ADDRESS IS 444. I AM SHOOK,” tweeted @StephenOssola.

Apparently 444 is the street address for the entrance used to access the elevator that Solange put the paws on Jay-Z in following the Met Gala.

Social media has been divided as some argued that the Standard hotel’s address is a different number.

No worries, DJ Booth and a few others did some research and discovered that 444 West 13th is the secondary address for the hotel off 13th St. Waittttttt and it’s also Jay’s 13th studio album.

444 is clearly the address for the Hov and Solange incident! It is NO coincidence that Jay named his album ‘4:44’.

Even though it’s been confirmed, social media has all kinds of thoughts and conspiracies about it. LOL!

What are your thoughts?

Studio Tales: Zaytoven Recalls A Funny Time When Gucci Mane Walked Out On Him

(AllHipHop Rumors) There’s nothing like a good story from a producer or a music artist!

Super producer Zaytoven recently chopped it up with ‘Pigeons and Planes’ for their Youtube series ‘What Had Happened Was,’. The series allows musicians and artists to tell crazy and outrageous stories that they’ve experienced during their musical careers.

Zaytoven decided to share an anecdote about a time that Gucci Mane got mad and stormed out of the studio!

Gucci and Zay were once in the studio with Hoops as they were all working on a collaboration together.

At some point during the session, Gucci Mane ended up falling asleep. Hoops decided to be a little prankster and went in the kitchen to get flour to sprinkle over Gucci’s face.

When Guwop woke up to the flour on his face, he was so upset that he stormed out of the studio and never did that particular collaboration with Zaytoven.

It’s just such a funny story especially when you try to get the picture in your head of old Gucci getting that mad and exiting. It’s also hilarious because Zay and Guwop are such good friends and collaborators today.

Studio stories are oftentimes some of the best ones!

Hacked Or Nah? Safaree Wants That Old Thing Back….And A Baby!

(AllHipHop Rumors) With today’s celebrity hacks, trolling, and MTV’s SafeWord show, we really don’t know what’s real from what’s fake!

Nicki Minaj’s ex Safaree Samuels shocked fans last night when he tweeted out his feelings towards Nicki.

Someone should’ve took his phone before he tweeted out this emotional tweet.

“I really want a kid. nicki you were supposed to have my child…I can’t believe this is life…” tweeted and deleted Safaree.

It seems like everyone is missing Nicki Minaj, as Meek Mill recently went on the airwaves saying that splitting from Nicki was definitely a loss.

Safaree’s tweet didn’t come long after Nicki announced Future’s single that she’s featured on.

Nicki and Safaree were supposedly together for like 12 years or something, so it would make sense why he’d be in his feelings. I still can’t believe they were ever together though. Safaree certainly doesn’t seem like Nicki’s type. He seems like a nice guy who can’t overcome being corny.

For all we know, Safaree could’ve been a guest on MTV’s SafeWord, and this tweet falls in line with all of their other wild tweets that make celebrities appear to be hacked. Safaree has since deleted the tweet, so who knows what brought on the emotional shocker.

If Safaree was really in his feelings, I do understand though. We’ve all been there.

Do you think Safaree wants that old thing back?
