After busting up the west coast while currently on tour with Tobi Lou, femdot dropped the follow up to ‘Delacreme 2′.
Titled ’94 Camry Music,’ its timely release comes just a few months after the Chicago mainstay’s stand out Jimmy Kimmel debut alongside Chance The Rapper’s younger brother Taylor Bennett.
Comprised of 7-tracks, mainly produced by long-time collaborator Charles Lauste, the cohesive body of work includes a lone feature from Smino who appears on “RapCity.”
“’94 Camry Music’ is really just the feelings I felt, the experiences I had, and more importantly, the lessons I learned in my first car. I grew up so much at the time and didn’t realize until started writing about it. That was a moment and so is this project,” said pemdot.
He also delivers the official visual for the project’s title track. Serving as the first taste of what fans can expect from the 90’s themed collection of songs, it was produced by Hush Forte with direction from hometown filmmaker Addison Wright.
Check out the video and take a listen to ’94 Camry Music’ in its entirety below.

Mel Murda was one of 12 Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods rounded up last November and charged in a RICO case.
The gang was accused of terrorizing New York City and defending rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, but members began attacking each other over control of the Brooklyn rapper’s lucrative career.

(AllHipHop News) Bosses at HBO are heading back to court to contest the decision for their case against the Michael Jackson Estate to go to arbitration over its Emmy-winning “Leaving Neverland” documentary.
The late King of Pop’s estate is attempting to enforce a non-disparagement clause in a 1992 contract, which provided HBO with rights to air a televised concert following the release of Jackson’s album Dangerous.
HBO previously had the case removed to federal court and attacked it as a “transparent effort to bolster their publicity campaign against the documentary.”
However, despite arguing the legal claims are premised on an old agreement that has been fully performed by the parties and thus terminated and is attempting to trample on its First Amendment rights by resurrecting the old contract, U.S. District Court Judge George H. Wu sent the case to arbitration in September.
Now, officials from the network are taking the case to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, at the advice of Judge Wu, although the grounds for the filing remain as yet unknown.
Bryan Freedman, an attorney for the Michael Jackson Estate, slammed the network’s “bogus appeal,” adding: “This appeal, which is its latest Hail Mary attempt, is even more pathetic than all of its other attempts to avoid public scrutiny… Our client will never stop until justice is served.”
Off the rip, he describes himself as “a two-time felon trying to make something of my g###### self.”
Born in Texas but moving to New York and eventually Miami at 10-years-old, the MMG rapper has been with Rozay since he created the label in 2009.
Real name Richard Morales Jr. was originally a member of Rozay’s hip-hop group Triple C’s, who went on to release their debut album titled Custom Cars & Cycles that same year.
Having his own run-ins with the law, Gunplay feels he’d be a lot further in his career if he was able to just steer clear of trouble. Fast forward to 2019, he’s featured on Rick Ross’ 10th studio album Port of Miami 2, on the song “Nobody’s Favorite.”
AllHipHop: How’s tour been with Rozay?
Gunplay: This is my first night on this tour. It’s good, LA is LA. Everybody tough face.
AllHipHop: Can you bring us back to when you first met Rozay?
Gunplay: Had to be about 15 or 16, I’m 40 now. That’s my big brother man. I just kept going to jail, kept f##king up.
AllHipHop: How many times you been to jail?
Gunplay: A bunch, but I never stay long. My longest was 3.5 months, no bond. Armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon. Made the news, but I beat it.
AllHipHop: What’s the biggest lesson you learned from behind bars?
Gunplay: Don’t come back to this s##t, so I try everything not to go back to jail.
AllHipHop: How’s that been?
Gunplay: Good, I ain’t been back. I caught another charge 9 months later but after that, I got on probation for 3 years. I was done with probation in 2015. I haven’t been back in trouble since. 3 years, I ain’t caught no charges in 3 years.
AllHipHop: I actually had a homie that was obsessed with you. What is it about Gunplay that fans love?
Gunplay: ‘Cause I’m raw and have no filter.
AllHipHop: What do you rap about?
Gunplay: I rap about me busting 2 nuts in one rubber. I rap about saving money. I rap about being nobody’s favorite. Ain’t shave. Ain’t bathe. Ain’t behave. Thank God I ain’t in the grave. That kind of s##t, that’s what n##gas f##k wit me for.
AllHipHop: Speaking of, you’re on “Nobody’s Favorite” on Port of Miami 2. Bring us back to that studio session.
Gunplay: Ross called me up about 1am and said “you in Miami?” I said “yeah.” He said “come out to the studio, I got a verse for you. Do a verse for the album.” I said “alright.” I went in there, I was already up all night on heavy cocaine so I recorded it real fast. Vrrrroom! That’s why you hear it just sound like [Gunplay starts rapping fast]. I was just going in. I didn’t breathe, I’m like “yo oh what? You gon’ get what?!”
AllHipHop: What was the dynamic in the room with Ross?
Gunplay: He left. When I got there, he’s like “boy this is it right here, I’ll be right back.” By the time he came back, I left and the record was one.
AllHipHop: What is the vibe when you guys do work together?
Gunplay: We’ve worked together for so long, it’s autopilot. Once he goes, there goes the beat — he might give me a little vibe like “yo start it off like this,” and I’ll be like this. We’ve worked together for over a decade so you know.
AllHipHop: How would you rank Port of Miami 2 out of all the Ross projects?
Gunplay: Oh man, this is probably the second. Port of Miami is the third, but my favorite out of all of them is Black Market. To me, you can just let it play. It got the street s##t, it got everything to it. Black Market is my favorite, I don’t know why but it is.
AllHipHop: What’s your favorite songs off there?
Gunplay: “Carol City,” “Color Money,” “Smile,” every one of them. Every single one of them.
AllHipHop: What’s the best piece of advice Rozay has given you?
Gunplay: Invest in yourself. Focus.
AllHipHop: When can we expect your new album All Bulls##t Aside?
Gunplay: Hopefully I’ll turn it in before the tour’s over. I’m working every day so hopefully, I’ll be done with that and the administrative part. I’ll try to drop around Thanksgiving or something.
AllHipHop: Since you’ve been with Ross so long, how has your relationship evolved over the years as he gets bigger?
Gunplay: It’s always still the same, but I just sit back now and take notes. Learning to invest in myself. A lot of that and staying out the way and staying focused. That’s the number one thing, you have to stay in the studio. You have to create content. You have to have content, that’s currency. That’s everything, man.
AllHipHop: What inspires you in the studio?
Gunplay: What inspires me is knowing that my pen is starting to be like “oh s##t, this n##ga like…” I write. I’m old school man. I’m back in my bag when it comes to my pen, I’m back on my s##t. I got a bunch of records, I’m just waiting for the stars to align. Once the stars align and I get this hit record, I feel like something big is about to happen.
AllHipHop: What’s the reality in being part of the MMG family?
Gunplay: Everybody wants some money from you because they think you got it. I be like “it ain’t for you mutherf##ker!”
AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio?
Gunplay: Cocaine, Remy Martin, marijuana.
AllHipHop: You worry about needing cocaine in the studio?
Gunplay: I don’t worry about needing it, but I always have it. It helps me record fast.
AllHipHop: What about adderall? Adderall is a good replacement.
Gunplay: Adderall is good too, but you can’t drink on Adderall because it cancels it right out immediately. I do the Adderall too and it makes me write real fast too. But then when I was drinking, it went away.
AllHipHop: Who’s in your Top 5?
Gunplay: Jay Z, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, and both Baby’s (Da Baby and Lil Baby). Both their a#### are solid to me.
AllHipHop: My homie said you like outdoor activities, is that true?
Gunplay: Yeah, I go boar hunting in Ocala, Florida. You know those big pigs with the horns? I’m just an outdoorsman. I like fishing: sailfish, marlin, mahi-mahi. I eat it after.
AllHipHop: Do you listen to music while you’re hunting?
Gunplay: Nah, I be focused on not getting killed and killing. Hell yeah.
AllHipHop: What do you want your legacy to be?
Gunplay: The n##ga that told it like it was like nobody else. Just brutally honest. I want that honest legacy like “yo, he wasn’t here for all that. He was here to really just say what was on his mind and connect with others.”
AllHipHop: What can fans look forward to?
Gunplay: The next single’s coming next month. Some crack dealing, cocaine cooking. Miami s##t!
AllHipHop: How’s Miami’s cocaine compared to LA’s?
Gunplay: I mean it’s good over here too. But it’s good where I’m at too.
AllHipHop: What’s your favorite part about LA?
Gunplay: Everybody’s straightforward. It’s a real vibe to me with the gangsters and s##t. With the homies, it’s just real s##t. Ain’t no groupie ass s##t going on. There’s less groupies in LA. I don’t see them, they be like real n##ga s##t. But I don’t know, I ain’t been around too long.
(AllHipHop News) It looks like rapper Trick Daddy is on some serious hard times because he has no money in his bank account.
The rapper’s financial turmoil was reported earlier today when news broke that the famous Florida rapper was filing for bankruptcy.
According to documents obtained by TheBlast.com, Trick Daddy is in the hole $807,176.86.
Trick Daddy’s most significant asset was his house. According to the bankruptcy filing, he also has $1,500 in home goods and $100 worth of clothes.
The rapper also told the court he has no cash in his bank accounts, but it’s not all gloom and doom for Trick Daddy, born Maurice Young.
Trick said he only made a little over $7,000 in 2017, but his wages skyrocketed the next year when he pulled down $75,000. And he has already earned $50,000 in 2019.
His biggest debts include his mortgage, which totals over $450,000. The IRS needs $290,000 from the rapper, and he owes back child support to the tune of $57,000.
The next hearing on the case will be held on November 4, 2019.
(AllHipHop News) Rick Ross is being dragged into court by a guy who claims the rap star ripped him off and stole one of his beats.
Ronald Satish Emrit, aka Go Go Satish and Satish Da Beast, filed a $250,000 lawsuit against Rick Ross, born William Leonard Roberts II.
Go Go Satish says he’s handicapped due to schizophrenia and works part-time in Sarasota, Florida.
His lawsuit claims Rick Ross’ song “Billionaire” from his album Trilla is nothing more than a copy of his song “Dilemma.”
According to Emrit, he released a record called Welcome to Atlantis on a tiny record label named Ditto Music out of the U.K.
Go Go Satish says he was stunned when his brother-in-law told him that the world-famous rap star had appropriated one of his beats.
When he “Shazamed”.Rick Ross’s “Billionaire,” he too was taken aback by the similarities of the songs.
Go Go Satish is suing Rick Ross, Island Def Jam Group, Universal Music Group and the Estate Of Shakir Stewart for copyright infringement, conversion, and tortious interference,
In addition to the $250,000, Go Go Satish is asking a judge to order a ruling forcing Island Def Jam Group or Universal to signs him to a “360 deal.”
Go Go Satish may have some problems proving his point. He released his album Welcome to Atlantis in 2013, while Rozay’s album Trilla with “Billionaire” came out in 2008.

(AllHipHop News) Lizzo has returned to the top of the U.S. pop charts to tie the longest run at number one for a rap track by a female.
The hitmaker feared she had missed her chance to tie Iggy Azalea’s seven-week record with “Truth Hurts” when the track was toppled by Travis Scott’s “Highest in the Room” last week, but it appears her summer hit has enjoyed a spike, taking it back to the top of the Billboard Hot 100.
Iggy Azalea first hit seven weeks at the top of the countdown with “Fancy.”
Cardi B and Lauryn Hill are the only other female rappers to spend multiple weeks at number one with one track.
Meanwhile, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s “Senorita” has rebounded to two on the Hot 100, while Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved” returns to three.
Post Malone’s “Circles” and Chris Brown’s “No Guidance” round out the top five.

(AllHipHop News) Jailed rap mogul Suge Knight has signed over the rights to his life to longtime pal Ray J.
The Death Row Records co-founder, real name Marion Hugh Knight, Jr., is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence for voluntary manslaughter, after striking a plea deal with prosecutors over the 2015 hit-and-run incident in a Los Angeles parking lot that cost Terry Carter his life and left another man injured.
According to TMZ, Suge has signed over his life rights to Ray, with the expectation he’ll strike several deals for film, TV and book publications to make some money for him and his family while he’s behind bars.
Sources told the publication a documentary on Suge, his protege Tupac Shakur and his famous record label is already being developed, and there are reportedly discussions about resurrecting the company.
While it is claimed the latter would require additional investors, “One Wish” hitmaker Ray is reportedly exploring the venture.

(AllHipHop News) After uploading a trailer for the upcoming She Ball motion picture on October 15, writer/director Nick Cannon released a second teaser for the film. Cannon also stars in the basketball-themed movie.
“She Ball is about community and the inclusive nature of controlling your own background. It’s a story that doesn’t have any boundaries. It’s a sports movie, it’s a love story, and it’s a comedy,” stated Cannon.
Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams’ Cash Money Films partnered with Nick Cannon’s NCREDIBLE to produce She Ball. The cast includes Melody Rae Kandil, Chris Brown, Fasion Love, Evan Ross, Cedric The Entertainer, DC Young Fly, and Hitman Holla.
The creation of She Ball was first revealed back in 2017. Shortly following the announcement, Cannon defended his decision to work with Chris Brown – who is also credited as a producer – against critics that still took issue with the R&B megastar’s 2009 assault against then-girlfriend Rihanna.
“What about Sean Penn? Do they ever hate on his past and the movies he do?” expressed Nick Cannon at the time. “It’s definitely a double standard. They want to turn a black man into a monster anytime they can.”

(AllHipHop News) In August, Missy Elliott dropped off a new body of work titled Iconology. The legendary performer/producer/songwriter was one of the high-profile female rappers to release new tunes in 2019.
Missy sat down with Amazon Music to talk about Iconology and longtime musical partner Timbaland. She also spoke on women finding success in contemporary Hip Hop.
“It feels good to see a slew of women taking over. It feels good because there was a time where there was myself, Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, Lauryn Hill, Da Brat, Trina. It was so many of us out at one time,” said Missy.
The Songwriters Hall of Famer and MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award recipient added, “It feels like that wave that it was. And I think we need that. We don’t need just a one-sided perspective of life. We need a man’s perspective and we need a woman’s perspective.”
Besides Iconology, this year also saw the release of Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You, Rico Nasty’s Anger Management, Megan Thee Stallion’s Fever, Trina’s The One, Iggy Azalea’s In My Defense, Rapsody’s Eve, Lil Kim’s 9, and Kash Doll’s Stacked. In addition, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, City Girls, and Saweetie made the Billboard charts with Top 40 singles such as “Please Me,” “Megatron,” “Act Up,” and “My Type.”
(AllHipHop News) Jarad “Juice Wrld” Higgins and Interscope Records were named as defendants in a lawsuit filed by the now-defunct, pop-punk band Yellowcard. According to the suit, Yellowcard claims Higgins stole the group’s intellectual property.
The plaintiffs insist Juice WRLD’s smash hit “Lucid Dreams” uses “melodic elements” of their song “Holly Wood Died” without permission. Yellowcard members are seeking $15 million in damages for recording revenues, royalties, and co-ownership of the song as well as proceeds from concert tours and other public appearances.
Yellowcard is also suing “Lucid Dreams” co-writer Taz Taylor, producer Nicholas Mira, publisher BMG Rights Management, and record label Grade A Productions. There have been reports that 17-time Grammy winner Sting owns 85% of “Lucid Dreams” because the Juice WRLD’s record interpolates “Shape of My Heart.”
The Goodbye & God Riddance track peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has been certified 5x-Platinum by the RIAA. The music video for “Lucid Dreams” amassed more than 381 million views on YouTube.
Over It was executive produced by fellow Atlanta native London On Da Track. Besides making music together, Summer and London were also dating.
However, the 23-year-old songstress revealed on social media that she has called it quits with the 28-year-old producer. Summer posted she is “single” and suggested London was a “male chauvinist” before adding that he is “a sweet man.”
Walker wrote, “Single. Lol somehow I always end up with male chauvinist. I’m [an] alpha female so I guess when I think for myself/make my own decisions it’s taken as disrespect… That was cute tho. God bless him he’s still a sweet man deep down inside.
(AllHipHop News) For months, there have been rumors that Onika “Nicki Minaj” Maraj was planning to wed her boyfriend Kenneth Petty. It appears Maraj and Petty are now officially a married couple.
Nicki uploaded an Instagram video showing “Mrs.” and “Mr.” cups and “Bride” and “Groom” baseball caps on Monday night. The IG caption read, ” Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty 10•21•19.”
The couple reportedly filed a marriage license in July. On an August episode of Queen Radio, Minaj addressed potentially getting married to Petty in 2019.
“We still had to pick [the license] up and I was traveling, by the time I came back, we had to renew it again,” said the “Megatron” rapper. “From that time, you have 90 days to get married. That was about a week ago, so now I have about 80 days.”
With an incredible pen game and even greater love for music, the Virgin Islands native describes himself as an artist who wears a lot of hats. As much as people want to separate him from being a songwriter and musician, he just sees it all as one.
Some music he keeps for himself, some music he gives to his friends — that’s just how that goes.
What most people may not know is that’s actually his vocals on the hook of Kanye and Jay-Z’s “Who Gon Stop Me” off 2011’s Watch the Throne.
His songwriting credits include Justin Bieber and Chance’s “Confident” and Chris Brown’s “New Flame” featuring Usher and Rick Ross, the latter of which earned him his first Grammy Award nom (Best R&B Song).
Fast forward to 2019, Verse is determined to bring that same energy to his own records. With his forthcoming project Rude Boy, he represents for his people and hometown of the Virgin Islands, flying all the way home to shoot the visual for lead single “Guntown.”
AllHipHop: Talk about relocating to Atlanta 7 years ago.
Verse Simmonds: I’ve been in Atlanta for a little while, that’s where I got my first break I’d say. I was living in LA for a while before that. My first actual label that I worked on was with was Capitol Records. From there, I had got the money to move to Atlanta — this is coming from the Virgin Islands.
AllHipHop: Did you come for music?
Verse Simmonds: Yes! A lot of people have different avenues they try, music has always been my thing since I was a little kid. I just always stuck with it and some great things have been happening for me.
AllHipHop: Talk about your strong pen game, when did you start songwriting?
Verse Simmonds: I’ve always written songs, pretty much all of my life since I was in the 5th or 6th grade. I’ve always been able to just write songs, but I probably didn’t get to writing for someone in the industry until 2007. I was working with this girl from out here actually, her name is Accent. We had put out her album in Asia and it went Gold over there, it just snowballed from there. Then I moved to Atlanta and got my artist deal. Been doing what I’ve been doing ever since.
AllHipHop: Talk about working with Becky G out here in Los Angeles!
Verse Simmonds: Becky G, that’s little sis at this point. I’ve been working with her for a few years now and this is where she’s elevated right now to being one of the biggest Latin stars in the world. I’m excited to get her project out and get the music really sounding — because we are blending a lot of sounds for this. We’re blending the Spanish market, the English market, the Brazilian market, the Carribean in general. We’re doing a lot of really dope fusion type of sounds so our genres can rock with it, it’s really exciting.
AllHipHop: Can you bring us back to the studio session with Rihanna?
Verse Simmonds: I wasn’t there for “Man Down,” I tell people this all the time. You don’t know because that’s what’s published out there. The company that published that song, the producer is my partner. I published that song, that’s how I’m connected to that song. Rock City are my best friends who actually wrote the song, people bundle me as being in Rock City but that’s not the case.
AllHipHop: What about “Watch the Throne”?
Verse Simmonds: Yes Watch the Throne, that’s me. [chuckles] Watch the Throne was special. I did that with my partner Sham, we did “Who Gon Stop Me.” A lot of people don’t know that’s my vocals on the hook. People think it’s Kanye but it’s actually me. Apparently when he decided to cut the vocals, he liked how mine sounded so he just left it. It was so close to his that it’s like “alright cool, just leave it.”
AllHipHop: Can you talk about transitioning from songwriting to your own artistry?
Verse Simmonds: I’ve always been an artist so I’ve never really transitioned from being a songwriter to an artist, or from artist to being a songwriter. It just so happens that in certain periods of my career depending on where you come in, that determines what you know me as. You meeting me as Verse Simmonds the artist because you never met me in the studio, you’ll know me as Verse Simmonds the artist. Where as this other person meets me in the studio and may know some of my catalog, so they’ll be like “oh this is Verse Simmons the songwriter.” Sometimes they cross, sometimes they don’t cross. For me, I’m just an artist.
AllHipHop: Talk about your new visual for “Gunstown.”
Verse Simmonds: The visual for “Gunstown” is really special to me, I did it in the Virgin Islands Islands. I went back home to Saint Thomas to shoot it. I actually shot it in Saint Thomas and St. Croix, that’s where I’m from.
AllHipHop: How often do you go back home?
Verse Simmonds: Almost every year. I was there earlier this year obviously shooting the video and I went for Carnival in St. Croix. I’ll be going back down again by the end of this year, I’m trying to do some songwriting camps in the Virgin Islands. I’m trying to bring people to the Virgin Islands to work on their albums and work on their stuff there, because why not?
AllHipHop: What was Damian’s Marley’s influence on your own career?
Verse Simmonds: Damian Marley influenced me just as much as any other Caribbean/reggae artist. Most of my influence in the reggae probably comes from Buju than it does Damian, but I love him just the same. I love reggae music in general, I grew up on it along with Soca music, Calypso music. When you’re from the Virgin Islands, all of that is kind of one pot.
AllHipHop: Best memory from the video shoot?
Verse Simmonds: Really all of it. It was just good to be able to show my country and show where I’m from, basically tour the whole island and show you the inside of it. Because when most people see or hear about the Virgin Island,s they think of something beautiful. And it is beautiful, but there’s very much an underworld to it that’s a little grittier and a little rougher. I wanted to give people that feel because that’s the real Virgin Islands that I’m from, not so touristy.
AllHipHop: What can we expect from Rude Boy? Which puts on for this culture exactly.
Verse Simmonds: Rude Boy is a real special project, probably the most authentic album I’ve put together. Most people have known me thus far for doing a lot of Caribbean or hip-hop music, and might not even be aware that I’m Caribbean a lot of times. So for me, this is like a homecoming. This is where I show the world exactly who I am, what I do, where I’m from.
Rude Boy is a fusion album of reggae, dancehall, Afrobeat, and Latin music. It’s everything that I am because I’m born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Virgin Islands. All of that is in me, that’s how I grew up, so I want to be able to bring that to light. What I have on this album is going to be really special and people will receive it. People will get a good glimpse of who I really am. To me, Rude Boy is the title that best defines me.
AllHipHop: What are some goals for yourself at this point in your career?
Verse Simmonds: I want to headline my own tours at this point. I’m at that point where I want to do the bigger stage shows. I want to do the Coachella’s, the YLS’s in London, stuff like that. I’m ready to do those kind of shows, the music that I’m doing now more speaks to that audience. So what’s kind of stopping me from already hitting that thus far is now that I have the music to speak to those people, I’ll get to that platform.
AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio?
Verse Simmonds: Need is a hard word so I wouldn’t say need, but 3 things I like in the studio. I like to have tequila in the studio. Of course, I like to have my weed in the studio. And just good energy, I like good energy in the studio. Whether or not I have people in the studio, I need everybody to have good energy. Because once someone has weird energy in the studio, it throws the vibe.
AllHipHop: What do you want your legacy to be?
Verse Simmonds: I want to be that person people just know in all kinds of different ways, just as a creative and as an artist. Someone who’s not only able to impact my own career, but also impact other people’s career. When you look at people like Babyface, those go-to people who are able to sustain their own careers but they gave massive hits to other people as well, that’s what I want to be. That’s what I want people to look at me as, “Yo, but did you hear his s##t? His s##t is lit. That’s great he did this with x y z, but his s##t is lit.” That’s where I want to me.
(AllHipHop Rumors) These are some interesting times we are in these days. The digital streets are talking! Gucci Mane said he’s gonna slap fire out of DJ Envy! But did he? Look at this!
Now, I looked at both of these videos on Instagram and I am almost certain that Gucci did NOT exactly say he was going to SLAP Envy.. Now, it definitely sounds like he is about to put those PAWS on DJ Envy! Now, I don’t believe this is actually going to happen, because that would turn into banishment from a whole lot of media!
(AllHipHop News) Rap star Jay-Z is accusing an older musician of trying to get over on a Judge in a massive copyright infringement lawsuit.
Back in May, Ernie Hines took legal action against Jay-Z in a $2 million complaint.
Hines accused Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, of stealing his song “Help Me Put Out the Flame (In My Heart)” and Incorporated it into his track “Paper Chase.”
Ernie Hines, 81, claimed Jay-Z and producer Timbaland made millions by using his original work and even acknowledged him on the album credit for Vol. 2…Hard Knock Life, which featured the song.
Unfortunately for Ernie Hines, Jay-Z’s lawyer claim he submitted unapproved evidence in a reply to the rapper’s motion to dismiss the case.
“Plaintiff has even filed a new declaration purporting to add and change facts beyond those contained in his opposition papers,” Jay-Z’s lawyer Christine Lepera snapped. “It is axiomatic that the rules exist to provide parties with a fair opportunity to respond to motion submissions, and Plaintiff’s conduct brazenly ignores their requirements.”
Hov’s attorney told J. Paul Oetken that Ernie Hines’ reply to the court a thinly veiled effort to “have the last word on Carter’s motion to dismiss,” and asked for the legal filing to be stricken from the record.
Christine Lepera also claimed Hines failed in his attempt to serve Jay-Z and Timbaland within a court-ordered 90-day window.
“Plaintiff can offer no justifiable excuse, even in his improper surreply, for his lack of diligence in failing to properly request issuance of a summons as to Carter (and Mosley) for over two months after filing the Complaint, and in failing to serve or ask for more time to serve within the time frame confines,” Christine Lepera told the Judge.
Jay-Z lawyer is urging Judge Oetken to dismiss the entire lawsuit against Jay-Z and Timbaland.
(AllHipHop News) Two former members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods who fell out after being arrested with Tekashi 6ix9ine could be spending some unwanted time together.
Last week, Roland “Ro Murda” Martin and Jamel “Mel Murda” Jones were sentenced to lengthy prison sentences, after being convicted in the RICO case brought on by the federal government
Shortly after a dozen members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods were arrested in November of 2018, Ro Murda renounced his membership in the gang.
He was stabbed nine times while he was awaiting trial, resulting in Judge Paul Engelmayer shaving 24? months off of his prison sentence.
The problem is, there’s a possibility Ro Murda could serve his time at the very same prison Mel Murda may be housed in.
On October 11th, Judge Engelmayer ordered Ro Murda to be housed at one of two prisons: FCI Fort Dix or FCI Fairton.
On Friday, October 18th, Judge Engelmayer could have created a life-threatening situation for Ro Murda when ruled Mel Murda should go to one of two prisons as well: FCI Fort Dix or FCI Otisville.
Last week, Ro Murda filed documents to appeal his four-year sentence.
Ultimately, the decision as to where both men will serve their time is up to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
