The controversial singer, who seems to be in a different legal quandary every month, was in Tampa Florida last night (April 16) or an appearance at a local nightclub named Aja Channelside.

The owner of the venue claimed claims that tensions started to rise, when Chris Brown and his entourage arrived at the club and demanded that no photographer no fake photos be taken.

When a photographer decided to snap some pictures of the crowd as he stood behind Chris Brown in a DJ Bruce, a full on brawl broke out.

‘Furious 8’ Earns F. Gary Gray The Highest-Grossing Global Opening For An African-American Director

(AllHipHop News) In 2015, F. Gary Gray became the highest-grossing African-American director of a single film in domestic sales when Straight Outta Compton brought in $161.2 million.

While Compton has since been passed by Jordan Peele’s Get Out, Gray now has the highest-grossing international opening for an African-American director ever.

The former music video director broke that mark when The Fate of the Furious earned an estimated a $532.5 million box office opening around the world.

That total is also the largest global opening for any movie in history, passing Star Wars: The Force Awakens which made $529 million two years ago.

Those huge worldwide numbers offset the lower than expected domestic box office total for The Fate of the Furious.

The movie – also referred to as Fast & Furious 8 – brought in around $100.2 million in North America which is less than the $147 million opening for Furious 7.

Yet, the 100.2 million haul is still the second highest first-weekend domestic gross of the eight films in the series.

“This franchise is showing no sign of wear and tear,” said Duncan Clark, President of Distribution for Universal Pictures International. “Fate of the Furious is satisfying audiences on many different levels.”

Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, and Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges returned as cast members for the latest edition of the action flick franchise.

Gray’s filmography also features Friday, Set It OffThe Negotiator, and The Italian Job.

He helmed videos for Hip Hop standouts like Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, TLC, OutKast, Jay Z, and Rick Ross as well.

Jas Prince Reportedly Files Lawsuit Against Birdman & Slim Over Drake Profits

(AllHipHop News) Jas Prince has been in a legal dispute with Cash Money Records for years.

Back in 2015, reports circulated that Prince was moving his lawsuit against the music label over Drake royalties from Florida to New York.

Now TMZ insists Prince is behind more legal documents taking aim directly at Cash Money founders Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams.

The original suit targeted Cash Money and Aspire Music Group for unpaid profits worth millions.

Apparently, Prince now owns part of Aspire, and he is still seeking to collect money for his supposed contributions to Drake’s highly successful career.

TMZ reports:

According to the [new] suit, Birdman’s blowing off his contractual duty to pay Aspire Music one-third of his Drake profits. He also signed Drake to an exclusive deal in January 2013, but according to docs … that new contract breached Drake’s original one, and cheated Aspire out of $4 million.

Jas Prince is often credited with discovering Drake and connecting him with the Young Money imprint under Cash Money.

“Cortez Bryant is [Lil] Wayne’s manager. When we figured out that we wanted to work on the [Drake] project, Cortez flew down to Houston and sat with me and my dad [Rap-A-Lot Records founder James Prince] and we talked about how we were going to do it—50/50, with him and Wayne and me and my dad, Young Money and Young Empire,” stated Prince in 2015 interview.

Hacker Gets Into Mary J. Blige’s Account And Posts Messages About Her Ex-Husband

(AllHipHop News) Singer Mary J. Blige is denying reports she slammed her estranged husband Kendu Isaacs on Twitter, insisting she was hacked.

On Sunday (April 16) a message displaying her alleged contempt for Isaacs appeared on the social media site.

“F##k Kendu Isaacs I f##king hate him and his whole family,” it reportedly read. “I unfollowed him on IG (Instagram) & ALL of my fans need 2 (sic)…”

The posting has since been deleted and the 46-year-old reveals she was not the one responsible for it.

“Hey guys. I was hacked with that message about Kendu,” she writes. “I don’t hate him & his family. Nor do I wish death on him. I just want this 2 B (sic) over.”

The “No More Drama” hitmaker filed legal papers to end her 12-year marriage in July, and the estranged couple has been fighting over his request for almost $130,000 -a-month in spousal support ever since.

Last year, Mary admitted the Kendu she married is a completely different person to the man she is now battling in court and she recently revealed she began to reevaluate the marriage when Kendu began to criticize her over unimportant matters.

“The overwhelming disrespect (he was showing me was too much),” she told Power 105.1’s Angie Martinez last month. “You’re too familiar. You’re way too familiar and you’re disrespecting me and I know… I can sense that I’m not what you want anymore, because now you’re starting to throw questions around like, ‘OK, why you don’t cook?’ ‘Well, I haven’t been cooking’. ‘Why you don’t wear your hair like this?’ ‘I never wore my hair like this before’. ‘What’s up with you?’ You know?”

(AllHipHop News) Georgia-based rhymer Clay James is keeping it one hundred on his new track.

Did Jay Z & Beyonce Once Consider Adoption?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Although the Carter family is growing by two, it looks like there was a little bit of difficulty on the road to expansion.

Rumor has it that our favorite couple was extremely close to adopting a child when the blessing of in-vitro fertilization worked!

According to RadarOnline, an insider said,

“They had finalized papers to adopt a child and were on the hunt for an orphan to take home when the IVF worked. It was incredible timing.”

That would’ve been some lucky kid! The source claims that Beyonce’s sister, Solange, predicted that their fertility issues would go away right when they stopped worrying about them.

“Solange actually predicted this would happen — that they’d stop worrying about their fertility issues when they started the adoption process. Thankfully they’d not yet started visiting orphanages so they hadn’t bonded with any kids yet,” said the source.

Clearly the Blueprint twins have put any thought of adoption on the back burner, but The Carters are said to not be completely ruling the idea out. Hell they can adopt me anytime!

Apparently, Drake’s experience in California also consisted of a racially motivated incident at The Madison Club.

“The most offensive place I have ever stayed at in my life with staff who pick and choose who they are going to accommodate based on racial profiling,” wrote the Canadian artist on his Instagram page.

Drake did not provide more details about the situation at The Madison Club that led him to post that message on IG.

A description on the Riverside County establishment’s website reads:

The Madison Club is the most exclusive private residential community in La Quinta, California offering the finest golf and club facilities in an intimate and sophisticated setting.

Offering a limited number of homes and memberships, The Madison Club is the modern interpretation of California’s classic old-line country clubs.

Legendary Artist André LeRoy Davis (A.L.Dré) Reps Hip-Hop With Marvel

(AllHipHop Features) André LeRoy Davis, professionally known as A.L.Dré, has been member of the Hip-Hop community for many, many seasons. A.L.Dré is many things – an artist, a writer, a poet, an M.C, a producer, a teacher and a journalist. However, A.L.Dré has been most recognized for his contributions as an artist for The Source Magazine, during the publication’s most impactful period. His “Last Word” column appeared on the last page of every issue of The Source from September 1990 to January 2007. Now, the artist has made yet another mighty distinction. Partnering with Marvel Comics, He has crafted a new X-Men variant cover that pays homage to Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five. We talked to the legend about his latest as well as his storied artistic legacy.

Image may contain: 3 people, text

AllHipHop: How did your variant cover with Marvel come about?

A.L. Dre: In October of last year, I got a call from my Brotha Riggs last minute to be on a panel at New York Comic Con that he was moderating titled, “BOOM! BAP! POW! The [R]evolution of Hip Hop and Comics”.

I was supposed to be on the panel alongside PMD, Bill Sienkiewicz, DMC, Method Man and Axel Alonso. I was seated in between PMD of EPMD and Axel Alonso the editor-in-chief at Marvel. We were still getting situated and focused for the panel to start as people seemed to keep streaming in to what already looked like a packed house. I shook hands with Axel, introduced myself and said, “Ya’ll need to let me do a cover.” He was aware of my work, said he was a fan… gave me his card and told me to reach out to him within the next week and let’s make it happen. I emailed him, followed through, then he followed through and here we are.

AllHipHop: Was there a special creative process?

A.L. Dre: The creative process was we took care of contracts and paperwork first… then they emailed me the information for two different variant covers that they wanted me to start off creating. I thought I was just going to create one of the Hip Hop variant covers, but they had other plans and I was cool with that. The initial email was for me to create an Iron Fist variant cover and a Luke Cage variant cover. I was immediately amped and flooded with ideas and visuals, because when I attended The High School of Art & Design in New York in the 80’s, Kerry Gammill’s Power Man & Iron Fist was my favorite comic book. I never missed an issue.

Image result for grandmaster flash furious five album covers

So, the first thing I asked was what was the storyline going to be for each issue that I’d be creating, because I wanted the covers that I’d be creating to make sense encasing the story that folks were going to reading. I hated that as a kid when the cover really didn’t match what I would later read in between the pages of the comic book. After they sent me story details I came up with a few different ideas that I drew out for Iron Fist and as far as Cage I knew that I wanted him to be a handsome suited Brotha fit for the cover of GQ.

I wound up tweaking and combining a few of my Iron Fist cover idea sketches and flipping it so that the illustration idea would be more reminiscent of a Shaw Brothers movie Poster.

With Cage, it was a lil more effort because they didn’t like the GQ idea as much as I did, but then I was told by my editor to just do what I do and knowing that the issue planned to rely more on Cage doing his private detective thang I decided to combine Luke Cage with the so called greatest detective of them all, Sherlock Holmes. Kinda like a, “Bro-Lock-Holmes”… Either way the result was that both of those covers worked out creatively and I look forward to folks finally seeing them.

With the Hip Hop variant cover… they chose for me to reconstruct a classic Grand Master Flash album and I had to provide a sketch that stuck to the exact positioning, posing and facial expressions as closely as possible, but now transforming Grand Master Flash into the X-Men. I drew it up, they approved it and then I painted it.

AllHipHop: Why is Marvel seemingly more “Hip-Hop” than other comic book entities?

A.L. Dre: I would assume because certain folks who now make decisions up top at Marvel appear to love and appreciate Hip Hop and hopefully they have the knowledge and respect for the culture that it deserves. When you honest and truly feel a strong, passionate love for Hip Hop you don’t want to hold it in… you wanna share it and you don’t care who does or doesn’t like it. I just think that those up there now finally are allowed or are comfortable enough to visually shout it out from the rooftops that they love Hip-Hop and they aren’t scared to show it.

AllHipHop: How have you felt about this melding of Hip-Hop and comics?

A.L. Dre: Honestly, I feel that it’s something that I created, so although I’m not getting the full props that I know I deserve I finally have a platform to shout it out vocally and visually while enlightening folks. Over 25 years ago, whenever I could and whenever it made sense I made it a point to transform rappers/M. C’s into Super Heroes on the last page of The Source magazine. I did variants/spoofs of classic comic book covers utilizing Hip Hop artists. More or less the exact opposite of what Marvel is doing now with their Hip Hop variant covers. I call the collective of all my pieces Hip Hop Super Heroes, so when I first became aware and saw the combination of Hip Hop and comics that Marvel was starting to create, I echoed the same words that I said to Axel Alonso on that Comic Con stage back in October: “They need to have me create a cover”! When I started to mesh Hip-Hop and comics in the early 90’s Hip Hop fans and readers of The Source loved it, but back then I never got any feedback either bad or good and I never heard or received any type of acknowledgement from Marvel or DC.

A.L. Dre: Now people like yourself have acted in both capacities – hip hop and comics – for a long time. What made you lean to rap culture?

Well I don’t think I leaned toward the Hip Hop culture… I was a participant in the Hip Hop culture and I loved comics. I have been drawing forever and I’ve been a comic book reader from a very early age starting in elementary school when I’d draw Spider-Man practically every day at lunch time. Fast forward to the age of 12 or 13 when I chose to love Hip Hop from the very first time that I heard, “King Tim the 3rd “and a D.J cutting up, “Good Times” at a summer block party in Brooklyn. From adolescent years to teenage years, to adult hood and maturity I rapped, DJ’d, had a college radio show, produced, managed, created logos for musical performers, wrote music reviews, interviews, features for Hip Hop magazines and all the while I drew, wrote and illustrated comics and cartoons.

AllHipHop: Do you feel a renewed validation with Marvel going to hard for Hip-Hop?

A.L. Dre: No, because I’ve never needed validation. I do what I need to do because I have a point of view, a vision and a sense of humor that I want to share. Then I just hope that viewers will like and appreciate what I do and all the hard work and skills that I put into it. If not, oh well. I’m still gonna go to sleep, wake up in the morning and create something new. It’s the gift that I have been gifted with and it’s who I am.

AllHipHop: Who were your fave comics coming up?

A.L. Dre: My favorite character coming up is still my favorite character now, Captain America. Why? Because he was an artist from Brooklyn, who walked around carrying his shield in his portfolio. For a young artist like me, what could’ve been cooler than that?!!! Going hand in hand with that was the fact that Captain America’s friend and partner was a brotha named The Falcon. At a young age, I only really saw White superheroes in all the DC & Marvel comic books that I read up until that point, but seeing The Falcon lead me to The Black Panther and The Black Panther lead me to Luke Cage aka Power Man. After Captain America, the three aforementioned Black Super Heroes are my favorite Super Heroes of all time.

AllHipHop: On the back page of the source u created satirical comic images. What rapper got upset?

A.L. Dre: Well in 1990 when I started writing and illustrating The Last Word no one was making fun of rappers and M.C’s. Magazines like Spin and Rolling Stone might take uninformed jab at rap artists, but now came a magazine devoted solely to Hip Hop. In the early days, just a few of the folks who beefed, mentioned my art or called the offices up directly looking for me were Professor X of X-Clan, DJ Quik and Rakim. In later years, you had a few more prominent names that beefed, but at some point, it became like a badge of honor to most M.C’s of that time period to be featured in The Last Word.

AllHipHop: What is next for you?

A.L. Dre: Who knows? I plot and plan many moves, but most things that occur usually just happen from putting in hard work and being at the right place at the right time. I always just try to make 2 or three different unexpected clients each year and improve on what I already accomplished in the previous year. Hopefully there will be more creative work with Marvel. A The Last Word book Retrospective of my Artwork through the years. Solo Art Shows… I just provided some art for a book that Chuck D is putting together. I have plans for a few collaborative art shows with the Brotha, Riskie Forever who did a lot of the artwork for Death Row Records, like the classic cover art for Tupac’s Makaveli. Kind of an Art East Coast, West Coast thing. To me the creative possibilities are boundless.

AllHipHop: Any final words

A.L. Dre: Thank you for all your support through the years. Welcome to all of those who are just discovering my work. Follow me on Instagram and Twitter, (@aldreday) search for me on Facebook and go buy some of my prints and T-Shirts.

Comedian Aries Spears Gets Beat Up On Camera!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Damn son. Aries Spears is a funny dude, but things got quiet insane the other day. He and a light skinned dude got into a verbal joust that lead to fisticuffs. Well, Aries was on the wrong side of the fight. That dude beat Aries like he stole something. At first, it was funny, because he tried to sucker punch the funny guy at close range and MISSED. It was the hardest MISSED PUNCH EVER. Well, dude didn’t stop there, he just started pouring Aries OUT. They seemed like light blows, but Aries covered up nevertheless. And did nothing in the video being passed around. People said Aries covered up his ears like he was listening to a Lil Yachty song and that he was covering up like old school fire drills. LOL! DAG SON!

This was Aries Spears at a more interesting moment.

50 Cent Facing A Lawsuit For Punching A Woman at His Show

(AllHipHop News) The woman 50 Cent punched during a concert last weekend has hired a lawyer, and is preparing to sue the Queens, New York rapper.

50 Cent threw a punch at a female concert-goer during a show in Maryland on Saturday (April 8) after she attempted to pull him offstage.

The “In Da Club” hitmaker was shaking hands with audience members while performing with hip-hop duo The Lox at Baltimore Soundstage, but one woman apparently took the quick meet and greet too far.

In video footage obtained by TMZ.com, 50 Cent is shown reaching out to fans in the front row, only for the female in question to refuse to let go of his hand, prompting the hip-hop star to lash out at her chest with his other fist as he falls into the crowd.

Members of his entourage quickly rush to help the rapper, and as he climbs back onto the stage, he attempts to play down the situation by inviting the overzealous fan to join him in the spotlight.

“Come on, come on,” he says in the clip. “Tell her to come over here.”

The woman then seems to accept his peace offering by climbing up onto the platform, where she dances and shows off her best twerking move as 50 Cent launches into his next track.

The woman, named Donnetta Derr, apparently had to go to the hospital the next day, after 50 punched her.

She then went and hired a law firm, according to reports.

50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, has yet to comment on the incident.

Geraldo Rivera Responds To Kendrick Lamar’s Lyrics On “DAMN.”

(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar’s war of words rages on, as the Fox News host has replied to comments the Compton rapper made about him on his brand new album, DAMN.

Kendrick made his issues with Rivera known on three different times on the album including “BLOOD,” “DNA” and “YAH.”

The whole spat started after Rivera was offended by Kendrick’s controversial performance, and exclaimed that “hip-hop has done more damage to young African-American men” than racism has.

Geraldo got wind of the fact that he’s included on such a high-profile album, and responded to Kendrick’s lyrics on his Facebook page.

“Kendrick Lamar, he’s the best of them, like I said. The others far more egregious, with them, indoctrinating young people with the message that the cops are the enemy, that there’s no good way to get ahead,” Geraldo Rivera said.

Even though it’s been over two years since Geraldo made his initial comments about Kendrick’s performance, the veteran anchorman doesn’t seem to have changed his position much.

“I have no beef with Kendrick Lamar, anyone else in the business, but if you don’t have a positive attitude, you’re dooming yourself to a life that you profess to despise,” Geraldo Rivera said.

Is Lupe Fiasco Hating On Kendrick Lamar?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Everybody is going on and on and on about how dope that new Kendrick is. And it is dope, but there is a small, powerful undercurrent of people that say its not “all that.” Now Lupe Fiasco did not diss the album, but he did rate it. Since when did artists rate each other’s music? Anyway, he gave it an 8/10. I consider that a B- in terms of grades. Damn near a C. So, a lot of people have accused the Chi-Town spitter of hating a bit. And people online and even social media have said that Kendrick’s album is better than DROGAS, the Lupe album that dropped just this year. Just for the record, DROGAS got a nod as one of the best albums thus far this year.

Hmmmm…by the time I came to post this, Lupe deleted the tweets. Here’s what he said regardless.

Here is one I captured before he deleted. Some have suggested that Lupe was drunk or something.

What do you think?

“Our love for music started as young kids, and we hope to inspire a generation of future artists, musicians and music fans through the stories we tell and the music they hear on these shows,” Trotter added.

AHH Stray News: Wiz’s New Ride, Chance The Rapper’s Party, MGK’s New Album

Rapper Wiz Khalifa has been gifted a brand new Dodge sports car to celebrate the success of his “See You Again” hit. “The Black and Yellow” hitmaker teamed up with singer Charlie Puth for the theme tune to 2015’s “Furious 7” movie, and their accompanying music video featured a slew of speedy Dodge vehicles. The promo is inching ever closer to snagging the title of most viewed music video ever on YouTube, currently held by Psy’s “Gangnam Style,” and to mark the huge feat, Dodge officials decided to surprise Wiz by presenting him with the keys to his very own 2017 Charger SRT Hellcat during an event in New York. Wiz’s new ride is reportedly decorated in black and yellow, the colors of his favorite American football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. “See You Again’s” promo currently boasts 2.61 billion views, compared to “Gangnam Styles” 2.81 billion hits. Wiz has since returned to the “Fast & Furious” street racing franchise to record a new tune for the soundtrack of the eighth film, “The Fate of the Furious.”

All proceeds will benefit the MC’s Social Works charity, which is helping to raise money for the cash-strapped Chicago public school system. REVIEW: Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN Is A Return To Basic Dopeness!

(AllHipHop Review) Kendrick Lamar can’t miss. He’s had four straight critically acclaimed projects, some of which are arguably classics. After teasing an April 7th release on “The Heart Pt. 4,” the Compton rapper returned with his fourth studio album DAMN. On Good Friday.

Two years ago, Kendrick blessed hip-hop heads with his jazz-influenced third album, To Pimp A Butterfly, featuring grammy-winning singles “i” and “Alright.” A year later he dropped Untitled Unmastered, a compilation of previously unreleased material. While both projects were received well, some felt K. Dot’s message was lost in the overall musical complexity of the songs. DAMN. is a departure from that sound with a strong focus on lyricism, but was switching it up the right move for Kendrick’s career?

I’ll admit I wasn’t too excited when I saw the album cover and tracklist. I didn’t think I wanted to hear Kendrick over a Mike WiLL Made-It beat or collaborating with U2 or Rihanna, but I was dead wrong. I actually thought those were three of the album’s best songs on DAMN.

To say this album had its moments would be an understatement. I usually have no interest in at least one track per album, but I really can’t complain about anything DAMN. has to offer. Instead, I’ll pick some favorites:

“FEAR.” One of my favorite parts about Kendrick’s music is his ability to paint a picture without telling a story. He does that perfectly here, giving us a look at three versions of Kendrick (akin to Chappelle’s The Three Daves skit)  — the 7 year old, 17 year old, and 27 year old — and more specifically what he feared and where that fear took him. In the fourth verse, he opens up about his current fears: losing creativity, changing within, and not leaving an impact.

“DUCKWORTH.” This track is made for hardcore K. Dot fans, and it’s by far my favorite track on the album. Kendrick gives us some history on Anthony “Top-Dawg” Tiffith and his father, Kenny, including how the two met. A smooth 9th Wonder beat provides the perfect backdrop and the song ends with the start of “BLOOD.,” a reminder to the listener to run this album back.

* Honorable mention goes to “GOD.” for K. Dot’s ability to master any style and his ridiculously weird flow during the bridge.

As usual, the release date, album cover, track titles and lyrics have fans scrambling to decode King Kendrick’s hidden messages. Personally, I thought DAMN. was an attempt at simplicity from a rapper whose music has become increasingly complex and conceptual over time. But when you consider the Good Friday release date, the seven deadly sins references in the track titles, and the many references to religion in the lyrics, it’s clear that this is a concept album — although I’m not sure what exactly the concept is. Don’t worry, a slew of highly trained rap forum members are on the case.

But forget about all that. When you strip this album of its possible concept, the result is 13 solid tracks, both musically and lyrically, and a partial return to the straightforwardness and lyrical brevity that made him the king of Compton — all of which equate to another bullseye from K. Dot.
