Freddie Gibbs Calls Out Logic For “Blatantly Jocking” His Album Cover & Trailer

(AllHipHop News) It looks like Freddie Gibbs is not feeling Logic’s recent rollout for his Everybody album.

Gibbs called out the Maryland rapper on Instagram.

“Dear [Logic] I hope you purchase my album on Friday due to the fact that you just blatantly jocked my sh-t. Blessings,” wrote the Indiana spitter in an IG caption.

The trailer for Everybody features the unveiling of the cover art inspired by Paolo Veronese’s 16th Century painting The Wedding at Cana as well as a group of future art museum attendees looking at the image.

Three weeks ago, Gibbs posted a similar trailer for his You Only Live 2wice LP.

The You Only Live 2wice cover also has a Renaissance-era artwork style to it.

However, the creator of Logic’s album cover, Sam Pratt, suggested the concept for the Everybody art has been in the works for months.

Longtime Executive Stephen Hill To Leave BET

(AllHipHop News) Stephen Hill is set to step down as BET’s President of Programming at the end of the week, according to Deadline.

EVP Head of Original Programming Zola Mashariki is also leaving the network.

SVP Specials, Music Programming, and News Connie Orlando was tapped to serve as the interim Head of Programming.

Hill has been at Black Entertainment Television since 1999, and he worked for BET’s parent company Viacom since 1995.

During his tenure as President of Programming, Hill oversaw popular programs such as the BET Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, BET Honors, Black Girls Rock, and 106 & Park.

The Washington, DC native wrote the following memo about his departure:

My first morning at BET was the day after Roger Troutman died. WKYS, WPGC and WHUR were all full with the music of Zapp and as I drove the car (that I still own) down New York Avenue in DC towards the BET Complex, I thought to myself “we’ll need to get the details and some footage quickly so that we can get something on the air today about Roger”. Immediately after orientation, I began searching out the people that could make it possible. But it turns out it was not possible. Due to the shoot schedule for the video shows, the edit time, and the way that Master Control was set up, the quickest anything could be turned around was one week. It was unimaginable to folks there then that BET could react to anything in real time. Crestfallen, I slumped in my way-too-big chair and gazed out at the McDonald’s across the street from my NetOps office; determined that the paradigm shift.

18 months later, we were live daily on BET and would stay that way for the next 14 years. What was previously unimaginable had been made real.

This Friday, 6,549 days after I took my first step through the doors of BET, I will walk my last one out. It has been my honor to serve this brand in that span and I am thrilled to have been able to be a member of the teams that ideated and created so many spectacles, moments, memories and miracles. It’s been fulfilling to be part of huge changes that literally shifted culture.

As we go forward, I’m excited by all of our immediate and long term upcoming trajectories. For you and BET, it’s the opportunities you will mine through your new designation: VIACOM made a wise choice making BET a “Flagship” brand. It’s been proven over and over again that viewers want BET to win and that they believe highly in your ability to do so. We saw that recently with the culture shifting New Edition Story when, with one series, pundits and social media were ablaze proclaiming BET as the best TV producers of biopics. Full Stop. Huh? “Best” after one attempt? Yes. That’s the feeling. That’s the energy of an audience rooting for you. That’s a populace hot for you. Your audience knows that other channels have to study the culture, but BET is the culture…and they respect the difference. I truly wish you the fuel of innovation, execution and support to feed those fire-flames. There is an abundance of talent at BET Networks; each person a spark that can start the blaze of the next success; to again take what is currently unimaginable and set on a path to make it real. It has been my immeasurable joy to work alongside you.

As for me, since I was 16, I haven’t had many workdays of not getting up, getting into it and getting involved. ‘Tis a truly foreign concept. I talk about “time”…well, all of the time ( at least twice a year on email); about its value and to consider how you use time…as a friend or a foe. Right now, I’m choosing friend. I’ma throw my arms around it like I would a long lost buddy and enjoy a bit of what it might offer.

I am truly looking forward to some time to just be. There’s much in this world I haven’t experienced that I soon will. And then, I’ll re-approach the side of the action, sway to and fro while catching the rhythm and jump back into the fast-paced double-dutch of life. However, these same feet that will one day return to churning in time with the ropes will now, for a few moments, have their individual digits sifting sand…not unlike another former President. Check the IG in a little while. Previously unimaginable. About to be wonderfully real.

Thank you Debra Lee for pretty much everything since the day you saw me in the red pants. Your leadership, tenacity, dedication…and style…are appreciated. Your investment in me and support of me from the very beginning has been strong and constant. I treasure it and will pay it forward.

I will miss you all. I will miss this. I will miss us. But I am so excited to see where you next take this powerful, agile, thrusting spacecraft of a brand.

Imagine it and drive well.

Hilarious! Nicki Minaj Responds To Rapper Kyyng’s Girlfriend Comparisons

(AllHipHop Rumors) Rapper Kyyngg was already ridiculed for allegedly being the Young Thug 2.0, but now he’s given us comedy for a different reason.

Kyyngg has been in the process of putting together a movie, as he revealed this in a series of social media videos. As Kyyngg exited his tour bus with his guys and girlfriend, he had to let everyone know that his girlfriend is badder than Nicki Minaj!

“We in the moment of shooting a wonderful movie in Atlanta, GA. We dropping a real wonderful movie for y’all real soon. We got beautiful people. Nicki Minaj ain’t got sh-t on her. I love you though Nicki,” said Kyyngg.

That’s right! You have to be your significant other’s biggest cheerleader even if it means that you are delusional at times while doing it.

Kyyngg’s girlfriend has even been rumored to be transgender, which wouldn’t surprise us in the least bit. Anyway, it’s good to see that Nicki took it easy on Kyyngg considering the fact that the girl is no where near Nicki bad!

Nicki said,

“? I love u too babe. GANG! ?? (when u don’t remember shawty name so u gotta blurt out the first name that come to mind ??, I could be wrong but don’t it look like that’s what happened?!?!?) – she’s dope tho. pretty girl. But this video is so fkn icoNIC for many diff reasons?. love his accent ? #Kyyngg”

Hilarious! Kyyngg is so strange. Hip Hop is getting stranger and stranger by the minute. LOL. Carry on!

New Kanye West Yeezy Collection Sells Out in Five Minutes

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Kanye West’s latest Yeezy x Adidas collection has sold out within five minutes online.

Although the “Good Life” hitmaker did not run a marketing campaign for his new Calabasas, California-themed apparel, fans snapped up his designs when the clothing became available for purchase at www.yeezysupply.com on Wednesday (March 29).

The unisex collection, which was available to purchase exclusively on the Yeezy Supply website, was promoted on Tuesday (March 28) in subtle messages by Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian and her little sister Kylie Jenner on the reality stars’ Instagram accounts.

Kim shared a photo of a sexy model sitting on top of a car, and captioned the image, “CALABASAS YEEZYSUPPLY.COM.” and the line was referenced in the @kyliekonnection account devoted to memorialising Jenner’s Snapchat posts.

A close-up picture of a white pair of Calabasas Adidas sneakers from Kanye’s line was posted on @kyliekonnection along with a heart emoji and the word “Adidas” in the accompanying caption.

The quiet product placement was clearly enough to get fans interested about the release of the Yeezy x Adidas Calabasas collection, which was inspired by Kim’s hometown, and by Wednesday afternoon only three styles of shoes were still available.

As of press time, the $625, Womens Mule PVC Clear pump, the $445 Mens Combat Boot in oil and sand colours and the $645 Mens Crepe Boot in taupe and oil were still on sale.

Customers could also still buy the Season 4 Zine for $65 on the Yeezy Style website.

Accused BMB Records Kingpin Lands Major Victory In Court Today

(AllHipHop News) Detroit music mogul Brian “Peanut” Brown appeared in a courtroom today (March 29) and scored a major victory.

The Detroit News published a story titled “Detroit Empire,” indicating that the DEA was investigating Brown as the head of a sprawling heroin empire that takes in millions.

Court documents that were briefly unsealed show that authorities believe Brown is using his rap label BMB Records to launder his drug proceeds.

Prosecutors and Brown’s defense lawyer squared off during a 2 p.m. hearing, where prosecutors claimed Brown was a danger to the community.

U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds shot down the feds’ request today, noting that Brown is complying with the terms of his bond for a March, 2016 gun charge.

Judge Edmunds she would revisit the matter on June 29.

Brown is the owner of BMB Records which has signed artists such as Ray J, Bre-Z, and Charli Baltimore.

The feds claim the label is really a front for a heroin operation, which imports the drugs into Michigan from groups connected to Mexican cartels in California.

Aside from producing traditional services such as music videos and headshots she also creates custom Instagram commercials and Vlogs!

Shanice released her first film Benny & Chris in December 2016, selling out at the Magno Theatre located in Times Square. The film is now available on Youtube and DVD.

As the month comes to a close, AllHipHop was excited to get some time with Ms. Parker to hear more about her life as a director in the music and entertainment industry and her journey to becoming a powerful woman in the game.

AllHipHop: Explain what your job entails:

Shanice Parker: As a director my job entails me providing my clients a layout and strong directing ability to produce the visuals needs of my client whether they are an artist, actor, or reporter. My duty is to produce visual content that not only appeals to the client needs but to also add my expertise so that the visuals can also appeal to their target audience.

AllHipHop: What’s the most enjoyable part of the job and your duties:

Shanice Parker: Its always fun to talk to the client to get a clear understanding of what they are looking for and produce a visual that they had in their head come to life.

AllHipHop: What is the hardest part:

Shanice Parker: The hardest part of my career is developing a team. It is a difficult task to find people who are just as passionate as you are for what you are striving to accomplish.

AllHipHop: Can you describe a moment of adversity personal and in your career?

Shanice Parker: It’s always difficult recognizing when to pull back and relax. At times I feel like I can be doing a lot more but you have to recognize that whatever is meant to happen will happen. I believe one of the best lessons I learned from my struggle was that the less thought I put into my next move, the more I could think freely and make decisions without any pressure on myself. Less pressure on yourself makes you think clear.

AllHipHop: What keeps you from giving up?

Shanice Parker: The people I choose to surround myself with has been the background to my strength. They have been helpful in reminding me of where I come from and where I am now. I also see how my hard work and diligence has influenced those around me as well. Giving up is not an option when you have nothing but strength surrounding you whether you find the strength within yourself or the people you surround yourself by. You are only as powerful as the people you keep around you.

AllHipHop: Who inspired you to become a leader or boss?

Shanice Parker: To be truthful I believe I am a natural born leader. But I took that leap to become a boss when I decided to follow my dreams to work in the production field and all doors were closed. It’s not in me to quit so I decided to create my own door. I feel like my family instilled that hustling work ethic. I never seen anyone in my family not work hard to get what they wanted.

AllHipHop: How do you balance work, and personal life?

Shanice Parker: I always like to be real with myself and recognize when something is reeling in too much of my attention. I love to work a lot and I realized that it plays a huge role on how well my body operates when its being over worked. That makes it easier to decide when I need to tend to my personal life. Its strange to say but somehow work finds a way to connect to my personal life at times. And at that time I am enjoying the best of both worlds.

AllHipHop: What do you like to do for fun?

Shanice Parker: I like to drive around see new environments, listen to music, dance, sing, watch movies from time to time not all the time though. I also find Instagram entertaining and with that comes a lot of comedy. If you know me you’ll know I like to laugh a lot!

AllHipHop: Please provide what it means to you to be a powerful and influential woman in the urban music and hip-hop industry.

Shanice Parker: To be a powerful or influential woman in the urban music and hip hop industry you have to know yourself. Know what you can take and what you need to work on and handle it with ease. People look to you as a source of strength by how well you can conduct yourself in a time of challenge. From my understanding this industry is tough and its not built for those who crack under pressure. Not only do you have to be strong you have to deliver work that will set you apart from any gender. You have to work twice as hard to prove that you deserve to be here and you have to recognize your uniqueness very early in your career.

AllHipHop: Final Thoughts or words of advice?

Shanice Parker: Always be you, and don’t be afraid to show it. People aren’t going to always understand you and it is not up for everyone to understand. It is up to you to master who you are and fall in love with who you are because there will never be another you.

Authorities Upgrade Charges Against Fetty Wap’s Rival, Fuzz

(AllHipHop News) The authorities have upgraded charges against 36-year-old Raheem “Fuzz” Thomas, a member of Fetty Wap’s entourage after a shooting resulting in three wounded men.

Thomas, currently out on New Jersey’s bail reform law, is now being charged with aggravated assault, weapons offenses, armed robbery, and possession of hollow-point bullets.

Fetty Wap and his entourage entered the deli on Montclair Avenue near Paxton Street in his home town, Patterson, New Jersey, around 4 a.m. Sunday morning.

Shortly after they arrived, there was a confrontation between Fetty Wap’s crew and another group that caused Thomas to withdraw his handgun and begin shooting.

He struck a 34-year-old man in the lower leg and when the fight went into the street, his another in his torso.

Hackensack University Medical Center reported a gunshot victim checking in who they believe to be the third victim.

Fetty Wap was also robbed of his signature “1738” chain during the shooting.

The story is still developing so anyone with any information is encouraged to call the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Game Wants To Beat Up Meek And 40 Glocc – At The Same Time?

(AllHipHop Rumors) If you thought The Game had less fight in him, you were wrong. Dude lifts weights all day and get set to fight Meek and his arch nemesis 40 Glocc. Only thing is, he wants to fight them at the same time, he says. In fact, that’s his dream.

What I found funny was that in the comments, The Game has his own “hive” of commenters that diss 40Glocc and they outweigh the positive comments.

Well you know 40 was not going to let that go. He fired back:

Nicki Minaj Is About To Take Over The Modeling World Thanks to Deal With Wilhelmina

(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj is “thrilled” to have signed a contact with Wilhelmina Models.

The 34-year-old rapper is familiar with the modeling world, having previously fronted campaigns for the likes of Roberto Cavalli and Adidas.

But she’s now making her passion for posing official, as Vogue.com confirms the star has signed a contract with Wilhelmina under its celebrity division.

“I love the synergy between my music and how it inspires my fashion,” Nicki gushed. “My message is always about celebrating your own style. I’m thrilled and honored to have signed with Wilhelmina. They get me.”

The “Super Bass” singer posted a screen grab of the announcement on her Twitter page, which featured a sexy black and white snap of her posing in a bejeweled headdress.

When Nicki isn’t busy with her music career she can often be found at glitzy events and always turns heads when sitting front row at fashion shows.

Known for her willingness to break style boundaries, her stylist Maher Jridi recently praised her for taking risks with her outfits, such as the breast-baring ensemble she wore to the Haider Ackermann presentation in Paris.

“She’s very open to new ideas and I feel like she trusts my taste,” he told Billboard. “Of course, she has her preferences, but she never opposes anything just because she’s never done it before.”

Nicki has also dipped her toes into the world of beauty over the years, having launched her fragrance line back in 2012, and collaborated with MAC Cosmetics and OPI Nail Polishes on various collections.

Cormega Says Being In The Firm Was Like Being In New Edition!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Well rapper Cormega recently sat down for an interview to talk about the past, present and the future.

This new Cormega is now polished according to the rapper. He also says that people calling him a legend makes him uncomfortable because he hasn’t done as much as some of the other Hip Hop legends have done. He expresses that he wants to do more before he gets that title.

When interviewer M Reck got to asking about Cormega’s time in The Firm, Cormega almost didn’t want to talk about it, but he ended up opening up.

“It was like being in f-cking, it was like being in New Edition. That sh-t was like. All you gotta do, watch the Apollo when The Firm performed. MF was screaming. That sh-t was magical, that was the first supergroup in rap. There will never ever ever ever ever be another group like the firm. ‘Cause it was just too perfect. You had everybody in their prime. You had elite spitters,” said Cormega.

He said the group never reached it’s potential and never had a sequel. He said his fans don’t care because he was never a status rider. Cormega doesn’t believe in dick riding for looks. He says he does feel that a lot of rappers would’ve crumbled after a group like The Firm crumbling though.

Luckily Cormega says he hasn’t been hurting because people believe his music falls in the classic category. But this New Edition comment has me thinking. What does he mean exactly? Does this mean it was all for show, but there was so much turmoil behind the scenes? What are your thoughts?

Blac Chyna Begs Tyga For A Confrontation Over Back Child Support

(AllHipHop News) Model Blac Chyna has taken aim at rapper Tyga in an online rant, accusing her ex-fiance of failing to pay child support.

The former couple shares four-year-old King Cairo, but according to Blac, the Rack City hitmaker has not been paying his dues to help take care of their son.

Blac took to Snapchat on Wednesday (March 29) to vent about their personal problems in a series of expletive-ridden posts, claiming she can finally see the “funny” side of their 2014 split, when Tyga allegedly kicked her out of their home and left her “2 grind from the dirt”.

“And they wanted to see me fail! lol (laugh out loud)…” she wrote, adding, “No child support!”

In the rambling outburst, she goes on to allege Tyga, real name Micheal Ray Stevenson, has even stopped paying King’s babysitter Jenny, before suggesting he is using his current girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, the half-sister of her on/off fiance Rob Kardashian, for her fortune.

“Stop running to ur money! Telling my business about King!,” she continued. “I bet any money! I got more money then ur account Tyga, Michael (sic)!!!

“So go tell Kylie, and Rob! About our son Account! Cause that’s the only reason I’m contacting ur f## a## (sic)!”

Blac, who is also mom to four-month-old daughter Dream with Rob, ends the rant by blasting Tyga as a “b##ch”, and challenges him to confront her in person at her Los Angeles beauty salon.

Tyga has yet to respond to the allegations, but it’s not the first time his finances have come under scrutiny.

Last year he was forced to pay a $208,330 settlement deal relating to a long-running jewellery debt with bosses at Jason of Beverly Hills, while his luxury Ferrari 488 sports car was repossessed in November after he reportedly failed to keep up with lease repayments.

Lack Of Security Video Hampers Investigation Into Mass Shooting At Cincinnati Hip-Hop Club

(AllHipHop News) Ohio police have made no arrests yet in a fatal weekend shooting in a Cincinnati nightclub, in part because there was no security video footage available to investigators despite a history of violence at the venue, authorities said.

The shooting at the packed Cameo Nightlife early on Sunday left a 27-year-old man dead and 16 others wounded; the number of wounded had initially been put at 15 people.

The gunfire, which sent hundreds of patrons fleeing and ducking for cover, grew out of a dispute inside the club, where two shootings took place in 2015, authorities said.

Unlike last year’s massacre at a Florida nightclub, there was no indication that the Cincinnati shooting was “terrorism-related,” authorities said on Sunday. The rampage in Orlando last June was the worst mass shooting in U.S. history, leaving 49 people dead.

Even though Cincinnati police lacked a video recording of the chaos, Chief Eliot Isaac said the department was confident of finding those responsible.

The best witnesses to the shooting were those who had been shot and were still recovering, Isaac said at a televised hearing of the public safety panel. In addition, some witnesses were reluctant to cooperate immediately after the incident, police have said.

Isaac said the number of wounded rose to 16 after another person came forward late on Sunday claiming to have been hit by gunfire. Two people remained in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Patrons managed to bring guns into Cameo Nightlife even though four off-duty police officers were providing security in the parking lot. Employees also used handheld metal detectors to check patrons for firearms before they could enter the club.

Even so, one customer told the Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper that clubgoers in a “no-wait” line were not being screened.

Club owner Julian Rodgers issued a statement late on Sunday expressing condolences to the victims.

“We will do everything in our power to cooperate and make sure the monsters that did this are caught and brought to justice,” he said.

A telephone call to the club was not answered and its Facebook page was unavailable.

However, late Monday Cincinnati City Manager Harry Black said on Twitter that the club had voluntarily surrendered its liquor license and that the facility would be closed until the investigation is complete.

The shooting was the worst this year in the United States in terms of the total number of dead and wounded, according to the nonprofit Gun Violence Archive, which tracks U.S. shootings.

Nicki Minaj’s “No Frauds” Falls 70 Spots On The Hot 100 Chart In Its Second Week

(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj told her 77 million Instagram followers, “Young Money, we don’t do diss records, we drop HIT RECORDS & diss u ON them.

This declaration came after the Queens rapper dropped “No Frauds” which included a verse directed at her rival Remy Ma.

When the song opened at #14 on Billboard’s Hot 100, “No Frauds” appeared it would be one of those hits Nicki talked about on IG.

However, in its second week on the chart, the record dropped 70 spots to land at #84.

This setback is significant because Minaj has repeatedly touted chart success as an example of why she should be considered “The Queen of Rap.”

In the hours following the release of “No Frauds,” Nicki added several posts on Instagram pointing out the song’s initial success on the iTunes charts.

The track has currently dropped out of the Top 100 on the iTunes all-genre chart.

“No Frauds” could rebound on the Hot 100 and iTunes after Nicki Minaj releases a video for the single featuring Drake and Lil Wayne.

Tupac’s Lawyer Files Lawsuit To Get Rapper’s Memorabilia Back

(AllHipHop News) The estate of Tupac is fighting to get valuable items back from several dealers they claim are selling the rap star’s memorabilia without the proper permission.

Howard King, the attorney who represents Tupac’s estate, filed three lawsuits against the perpetrators selling or auctioning off items that once belonged to Tupac.

The auction house, Moments in Time is cited in the lawsuit, along with two other individuals.

Howard King maintains each one of the defendants illegally acquired valuable items Tupac once owned, from third parties who really had no rights to the property.

According to reports, these include Tupac’s driver’s license, his jewelry, and his passport, in addition to his handwritten scripts, lyrics, and notebooks.

Howard King is working to get the items pulled from Moments in Time and have them returned to Tupac’s estate.

Over the past several months, a variety of Tupac’s items have gone up for sale on the Moments in Time auction website.

These include Tupac’s high school love letters, his lyrics for “Dear Mama,” and the BMW that he was shot in, while he was riding along the Las Vegas strip in September of 1996 with Marion “Suge” Knight behind the wheel.
