Dungeon Family Members Discuss Artistic Growth & Modern Hip Hop Ahead Of ONE Musicfest Reunion

(AllHipHop News) The city of Atlanta is preparing for the return of Hip Hop legends The Dungeon Family.

The Southern crew – which consists of OutKast, Goodie Mob, Organized Noize, Killer Mike, and others – will reunite for ATL’s ONE Musicfest next month.

Before the collective hits the stage at Lakewood Amphitheatre, several members met with Atlanta area press members on Monday.

“I think there’s a lot of diversity in our collective efforts as a crew,” said Goodie Mob’s CeeLo Green. “We haven’t all tried to be the same and we’re not obligated to be the same way we were twenty years ago. Life is different. Circumstances are different. We’ve grown with age. We’ve grown and changed for the better, and that can be reflected in the art.”

CeeLo, Big Gipp, Slim Cutta Calhoun, Backbone, C-Bone, Lil Will, Rico Wade, and Ray Murray were all part of the panel. ONE Musicfest founder Jason “J” Carter was at the event as well.

“We want the music to reflect the times,” added Big Gipp. “It’s not a whole lot of artists besides Kendrick [Lamar], [J.] Cole, and a few other artists that are trying to push a positive image. And I feel that it’s so important that we keep that in the foresight because to me, Hip Hop is supposed to be a message. And that’s the only reason that I think Dungeon Family and the Outkast crew have lasted so long. I think we always did music where we wanted to say something. And I feel that that art and that mindset hasn’t been promoted in the last few years of Hip Hop.”

ONE Musicfest is scheduled for September 10. The line-up also includes Ice Cube, Erykah Badu, Busta Rhymes, A$AP Ferg, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, and more.

Some people took the text as a diss directed at the OVO Sound leader, but Skepta returned to IG to make it clear he is still down with Aubrey.

“From Toronto with solid bullet proof love,” wrote Skepta in the caption of a photo that revealed a new OVO owl tattoo.

Actor Who Played Eazy-E In “Straight Outta Compton” Accused Of Assaulting Woman

(AllHipHop News) “Straight Outta Compton” star Jason Mitchell is reportedly under investigation over allegations he assaulted a woman on Monday (August 1st).

The 29-year-old actor, who portrayed late N.W.A. rapper Eazy-E in the 2015 biopic, reportedly grabbed the unnamed 18-year-old woman and threw her to the ground at The Ritz hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, according to a police report filed by the alleged victim.

In the report, the woman claims the actor, who she’d never met before that night, called her a “b##ch” and fled the scene.

It also states other guests could hear her screaming for help. Staff at the hotel have since banned Mitchell.

Police officers are hoping to speak to the actor about the allegations.

Is Beyonce Planning To Launch A New TV Network?

One thing about Beyonce is the Queen Bey is always working and expanding.

Beyonce is racking up millions on her ‘Formation’ tour, and her R&B duo Chloe & Halle are also becoming fan favorites.

Now rumor has it that Beyonce is currently working on launching her own television network through Parkwood Entertainment.

It has also been stated that this forthcoming launch was another reason why she fired and replaced her management team.

The rumored network will provide an inside look into her life as well as some of her closest friends as well as showcase their visual creativity.

The network will feature specials on African and American history also.

We could definitely see Beyonce and Jay Z launch a network, however she may want to get some advice from her pal Oprah, as even Oprah faced a few challenges in the first year of her network launching.

DJ Khaled Set To Score First #1 Album With ‘Major Key’

(AllHipHop News) It’s official, DJ Khaled is an A-list entertainer.

The man that has become the king of Snapchat is now set to become the ruler of the Billboard 200.

Khaled’s latest LP Major Key is on pace to earn over 90,000 equivalent album units, his first chart topper.

That total is likely enough to unseat Drake’s Views from the top spot on the album chart. The OVO leader is set to score around 80,000 SPS units.

Major Key is also predicted to sell around 60,000 copies in traditional album sales, giving the Miami-based DJ his highest opening week since 2007’s We The Best (79,000 copies).

If Khaled does hit #1 on the Billboard 200 it will continue Apple Music’s domination of the tally.

Major Key was released as an Apple Music exclusive.

Views was also only streamed on Apple Music for a limited time. Drake’s 4th studio album held onto the top spot for 12 nonconsecutive weeks.

Yet another Apple Music exclusive will surely be in contention for #1 next week if the reports that Frank Ocean’s long-delayed Boys Don’t Cry really arrives on Friday.

The project is said to be streaming solely on the platform for two weeks.

A X-Rated Video Of Irv Gotti’s Girlfriend Has Leaked On Snap Chat!

Murder Inc. CEO Irv Gotti’s girlfriend, model and former Taz Angel escort, Ashley Martelle, turned Snap Chat upside down when x-rated footage of her performing oral sex was leaked and went viral.

It was something like a p#### going down on Snap Chat.

Ashley claims that she was hacked, and she says that the video is an old video of her and her ex.

We would say that this is why Irv can’t get enough of Ashley because she’s down for anything, including going down and getting down with the get down on the social media app.

However, rumor has it that this video is causing problems in her relationship with Irv.

In 2016 nothing is private, and nothing surprises us anymore. Click HERE to see the NSFW video.

Chris Brown Target Of Lawsuit For Alleged Involvement in 2014 Shooting at California’s 1 OAK Nightclub

(AllHipHop News) R&B star Chris Brown is the subject of a new, as he is being sued once again for his involvement in a shooting that occurred at California’s 1 OAK nighclub in 2014.

According to TMZ, one of the victims of the shooting named Ginja Elms is suing Brown, who served as a host of the event at the venue.

Elms’ lawsuit claims that the singer’s gang affiliation was a cause for the shooting.

Elms also claims that the club’s security should of done a better job screening for weapons, by making sure to pat down every single person entering the venue, including the celebs and their crews.

In addition to Brown, Elms is also suing singer and co-host of the event Pia Mia.

He wants damages in excess of $750K as he says he suffered “disruption in his relationship with his wife.”

Former CEO of Death Row Suge Knight also recently fIke’s a similar lawsuit against the singer and the club, citing the incident as the cause for the current murder charges he faces for running over two men and killing one while reportedly trying to flee an altercation.

New York Mayor To Honor Phife Dawg In Street Naming Ceremony

(AllHipHop News) Late rap pioneer Phife Dawg is set have a street in his native New York City renamed in his honor.

The A Tribe Called Quest star, real name Malik Taylor, died in March, aged 45, and on Wednesday (August 3), he will be posthumously saluted by Mayor Bill de Blasio for his contribution to Big Apple culture.

Phife’s management officials reportedly confirmed that the mayor is signing a bill to co-name Linden Blvd at 192 to Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor Way.

The event will take place at City Hall in Lower Manhattan at 10:00am.

The street dedication was initially proposed by fans in a petition shortly after Phife’s passing from complications related to diabetes.

The corner where Linden Boulevard intersects with 192nd Street in Queens is already steeped in A Tribe Called Quest history as it is widely recognized as the birthplace of the group, fronted by Q-Tip.

The street was referenced in a number of their songs, including “Steve Biko (Stir It Up)” and “Check the Rhime,” for which they shot the music video outside Nu-Clear Cleaners, a dry cleaning business on the road back in 1991.

Fans are also petitioning city officials to approve plans to have a mural honoring the band erected on the side of the building at the famed intersection.

The design by artist Vince Ballentine takes inspiration from the artwork of their 1993 album Midnight Marauders, and features the faces of Phife, Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White on a black background with red and green stripes.

The words, “A Tribe Called Quest… Represent, Represent” and the band’s circular logo also feature on the mural design.

Lil Durk Expresses Disappointment Over French Montana Not Promoting His Album (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Lil Durk dropped his second album 2X last month, but the project’s tracklist omitted French Montana.

During an appearance on The Breakfast Club, Durk was asked why his Coke Boys leader was not part of the LP.

The Chicago rapper explained that he is not actually signed to French like many observers had thought, but he was surprised the Bronx representative did not support his latest effort on social media.

“I don’t really know what’s going on with that,” said Durk. “I’m gonna keep it 1000, that’s my brother. I love him to death, but I don’t know what’s up with that.”

He added, “I was just waiting on a post like, ‘Alright, I see Gucci’s sh-t.’ I waited a couple of days. It hit me, makes me feel a type of way. He ain’t never post it, but I ain’t gonna cry.”

Women Claims 50 Cent Awkwardly Rejected The Game At LA Nightclub

It’s been pretty clear that The Game has been going hardcore with his mission of peace all across the board.

This even includes squashing old beef with other artists, 50 Cent included.

The Game has expressed that he would like everyone to get along and that he rocks with 50, but is 50 all in?

Despite the fact that there is video showing 50 Cent & The Game peacefully talking in the Ace of Diamonds strip club recently, a woman in attendance claims that 50 Cent was rejecting The Game when he was trying to get into his booth.

The woman claims that even though The Game got on stage to squash their beef, 50 Cent didn’t get near The Game, and he was only concerned with throwing stacks.

She goes on to say that she couldn’t get back in the booth for a little while once she returned from the bathroom as security informed her that there had been an altercation between 50 & Game.

Could she be exaggerating, or is 50 still not here for The Game’s peace treaty yet?

Audra The Rapper Talks About Relationships, And Female Rappers

Believe it or not, rappers who happen to be women are sick of being referred to as “female MC’s.”

They actually don’t like being given separate slots away from the guys just because the basic plumbing is different.

The stigmas and misconceptions are old, dated and quite honestly, they’re tired of answering the questions about it.

Just ask Audra The Rapper.

Since her intro on to the scene, the Virginia native has been too busy keeping her music on point to entertain the nonsense that comes with being a female rapper.

With the new season of “Sisterhood Of Hip Hop” racking up the ratings, it is a perception she’s looking to break free from.

Audra sat with AHH’s @MrMecc to talk relationships, regrets and good old-fashioned music.

Frank Ocean Expected To Release ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ Album This Week

(AllHipHop News) Maybe the cryptic video playing on Frank Ocean’s website is a sign the R&B singer is really ready to release his long-delayed second studio LP.

The New Orleans native became a trending topic on Twitter after the circulation of a New York Times article suggesting the new Boys Don’t Cry album is on the way this week.

The publication reports:

Mr. Ocean, the innovative and enigmatic R&B singer, is set to release his next album, “Boys Don’t Cry,” on Friday through an exclusive deal with Apple Music, according to a person with knowledge of the release plans. The release is also expected to include a major video and a printed publication called “Boys Don’t Cry” that will be distributed at Apple stores.

Apple Music added to the speculation when the company’s twitter account posted a tweet that simply read “Frank” with a link to the same clip running on Ocean’s site.

Boys Don’t Cry is expected to be an Apple Music exclusive for two weeks before extending to other outlets.

Justin Bieber Takes Swipe At Taylor Swift; Shows Support For Rapper Kanye West

(AllHipHop News) Justin Bieber has reignited the feud between Taylor Swift and Kanye West by posting an image from a video chat with the rapper on Instagram.

The “Shake It Off” singer has been embroiled in an argument with the rapper over his song “Famous,” in which he name checks her, for months.

Taylor’s team denied she had given him permission to use her name but it was revealed she had in an explosive video uploaded to Snapchat by Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian last month.

Taylor and Kim have kept largely silent in the two weeks since the private phone conversation was published and the feud appeared to have died down, until Justin reignited it on Tuesday by showing he’s siding with Kanye.

Justin posted a black and white screen grab on Instagram of his video call with Kanye and the rapper’s two friends, one thought to be Justin’s manager Scooter Braun, and wrote in the caption, “Taylor swift what up.”

Taylor and Justin have never publicly discussed a feud, however it was reported she didn’t approve of his relationship with her pal Selena Gomez.

Footage from backstage of the Billboard Music Awards in 2013 showed Taylor sticking out her tongue in disgust as she witnessed them kissing.

While Taylor has taken time away from social media since the drama, her friends have spoken out to support her, including Selena and Uzo Aduba, while Fergie came up with a theory that the entire incident was a publicity stunt.

Kanye hasn’t been so silent on the matter and stopped Drake’s concert to reference the feud at the end of July.

He told the crowd in Chicago, Illinois, “All I gotta say is, I am so glad my wife has Snapchat, because now y’all can know the truth and can’t nobody talk s**t about Ye (Kanye) no more.”

In the Snapchat video, Taylor can be heard saying, “Umm, yeah go with whatever line you think is better. It’s obviously very tongue in cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that’s really nice,” when he runs a line by her.

However, Taylor issued a statement clarifying that she never approve him calling her “a b##ch” in the song and accused Kim of assassinating her character by making her out to be a liar.

Amber Rose Asked Wiz Khalifa For Another Baby, Say He Puts Babies On Her Face Instead

Given the nature of Amber Rose’s talk show on VH1, the show could either get cancelled or its ratchet nature could definitely score a second season.

On ‘The Amber Rose Show,’ Rose recently revealed that she really wants to have another baby with her ex-husband Wiz Khalifa.

Amber revealed that she’s repeatedly asked Wiz Khalifa for his sperm, but instead of giving it to her the way she wants him to for conception, he puts his babies on her face. Oh Amber!

50 Cent & The Game Appear At L.A. Club The Same Night; Game Says Their Beef Is Over (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) The Game has been on a peace mission over the last few weeks. The Compton rapper brought rival gangs together in Los Angeles, and he held a community/police summit in the same city.

When it comes to his own personal issues, Game is ready to move past those as well. Video of the “Hate It or Love It” performer announcing he has officially ended his beef with 50 Cent has made its way to the web.

50 hosted a party at Ace Of Diamonds L.A. in West Hollywood last night (August 1). Game was in the same club at the time.

At one point, the former G-Unit member took the microphone and spoke about his one-time rival.

“I f-ck with 50. What happened – that sh-t was 12 years ago. N-ggas ain’t on that sh-t,” Game told the crowd. “You know what it is. Drink your motherf-cking Effen.”

That declaration came just days after Game posted a “Throwback Thursday” picture of him and 50 together on Instagram. The caption for that photograph read, “when nobody would dare f-ck wit us. #TheUnit #Aftermath.”
