Aussie “B-Girl” Sparks Outrage From Hip-Hop Community Over Olympics Inclusion

Australian professor Rachael “Raygun” Gunn, who participated in the women’s breaking competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics, went viral for her less than stellar performance.

Many in the Hip-Hop community felt she made a mockery of the art, spawning seemingly endless posts about the negative impact she had on breaking’s reputation. Rock Steady Crew legend, one of the world’s most famous b-boys, was forced to make a statement about Gunn’s performance. He concluded she should have bowed out and admitted to herself she wasn’t ready. He also placed some of the blame on the judges, who simply should’ve known better.

At the same time, Crazy Legs stood up for Gunn and insisted she didn’t deserve all the hate she’s been getting.

“Judges should stand up and say this girl doesn’t reach the qualifications of someone who should be performing on this level and protect Hip-Hop culture with that statement. I don’t know the girl, don’t know who she is, never heard of her. I think on her part she could have said, ‘Hey, this is out of my league. I shouldn’t be on this platform or maybe Australia as a country should have told her to fall back on this one.

“Maybe in her mind she’s better than what she thinks and that’s something for her to work out on her own. Do I think she deserves the amount of criticism she’s getting? Nah. In the United States, we are the über version of Live at the Apollo. You see something coming sideways, the jokes are coming fast and hard.”

Crazy Legs concluded all of the dragging online could have a serious impact on Gunn’s mental health and encouraged people to “ease up.”

But others aren’t so forgiving, even the judges who gave her zero points for her routine. In head-to-head battles against b-girls from the USA, France and Lithuania, she pulled out some questionable moves like kangaroo hopping and swimming on the ground.

Some netizens were less than impressed, posting messages like “There’s 27.7 million Australians in the world and that’s who they send to the Olympics for this inaugural event??? C’mon now!”

And there’s a sense even Gunn knew she wasn’t qualified to be there. She later told reporters, “I was never going to beat these girls on what they do best, the dynamic and the power moves, so I wanted to move differently, be artistic and creative because how many chances do you get that in a lifetime to do that on an international stage,” suggesting she knew her moves weren’t on par with high-level b-girls or b-boys.

Legendary b-boy Popmaster Fabel also had some choice words about Gunn’s inclusion. Taking to Instagram, he chastised the powers that be who allowed Gunn to represent breaking on a world stage.

“Although I do not support the idea of including Breaking in the Olympics, I congratulate the winners. That said…I’m praying to Almighty God that Australia has much better B-girls than Rachael Gunn aka Raygun! I feel like she was purposely placed for some weird type of comedy relief. It’s shameful and a cheap shot at making a mockery of our sacred dance and culture. This extremely poor example of talent would have NEVER been allowed in any other Olympic category!

“Yet another reason why Breaking does not belong in the Olympics! How were the contestants chosen? Who chose the judges? Who chose the commentators? Who chose the DJs? Again, too many questions and not enough answers! It truly p##### me off! In the REAL world of Breaking, she would not have been granted the privilege to rep our dance on that platform regardless of the country! Its criteria and authenticity is not in harmony with the organic process that birthed it.”

He clarified further, “My comments are not meant to attack or hurt Raygun as a person. I’m aware of the fact that she has feelings as do we all. I’m simply stating that she should not have been placed at all in that position until she trained enough to be a top competitor on a global scale. I’ve always stood my ground against having Breaking in the Olympics! I do not believe Breaking in the Olympics is conducive to our dance and/or culture!

“I believe having Breaking in the Olympics is yet another form of cultural appropriation and unfortunately, our very own cultural brothers and sisters are being bought into the game. Regardless of my stance, I do congratulate the winners and those who truly earned placement in an arena that ultimately does not belong to us!”

As the jokes and memes continued to flow, even Adele took a moment to address the controversy, telling her crowd, “I can’t work out if it was a joke but either way it has made me very very happy and me and my friends have been s####### ourselves laughing for nearly 24 hours. I just wanted to know if you have seen it. If you haven’t seen it please leave the show and google it because it is LOLZ. It is so f###### funny and is my favorite thing that has happened in the Olympics this whole whole time.”

50 Cent Confirms Future Collaboration With Tyler Perry On The Way

50 Cent uncovered a new cinematic speed after touring Tyler Perry’s Atlanta studios, discovering a fresh approach to film and TV production that hinges on efficiency without compromising quality.

During a visit to Perry’s sprawling studio complex in June, 50 Cent immediately resonated with the accelerated pace, which he contrasted with the traditional methods of old Hollywood.

“We have the old Hollywood pace, the old ‘we are doing white Hollywood.’ He’s doing the diverse version of Hollywood that has to move faster to make more,” 50 Cent told The Hollywood Reporter. “And you don’t have to compromise quality. You will notice the difference in the premium programming when it’s done correctly. It’s just better planning. That definitely changed my perspective.”

As the mastermind behind G-Unit Film and Television Inc., 50 Cent has firmly established himself as a mogul in the entertainment world over the past decade.

His impressive resume features hit series like “BMF,” “Power” and its spin-offs “Ghost,” “Raising Kanan,” and “Force.”

Recently, 50 opened his own studios in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he has grand plans to rejuvenate the city and make it a destination for visitors.

“The studio itself, it’s for me to create content, to go make television shows and films and stuff like that,” he clarified. “But Shreveport, I have to be able to create an experience for people to come, so I started investing in the downtown area, buying properties and stuff. I got to revitalize that along with the studio.”

When questioned about a potential collaboration with Perry in the future, Jackson indicated that something might indeed be on the horizon.

“He said if I wanted to do something, and I’m saying, ‘Yes, let’s do it.’ Now we’ve just got to sort out what that’ll be,” 50 Cent confirmed.

Travis Scott Walks Free From Jail After Paris Arrest

Travis Scott was released from French police custody Friday after being detained at a Paris hotel following an altercation with a security guard.

Officials cleared the rapper of all charges, labeling the incident as minor, according to French prosecutors.

The Paris prosecutor’s office stated, “The police custody order for Travis Scott has been lifted and all proceedings against him were terminated because the incident was minor.”

Law enforcement responded early Friday to a call at the Hotel Georges V and detained Scott.

The altercation began when Travis Scott, frustrated with the paparazzi who had swarmed him, blamed his own security for their failure to protect him adequately.

A hotel security guard attempted to intervene in the ensuing dispute between Scott and his personal bodyguard.

Scott, known globally for his hit song “Sicko Mode,” had been in Paris to attend the Summer Olympics.

He was spotted at the US men’s basketball game, among other public appearances.

The 30-year-old rapper, who shares two children with reality star Kylie Jenner, has consistently been in the limelight, attracting both fans and media wherever he goes.

Ciara Explains How Family Influences Her Beauty & Style

Ciara credits her young daughters with inspiring a revamped approach to beauty, reshaping how she presents herself as a role model.

The singer, who recently became an ambassador for the cosmetics brand Nars, says her daughters play a pivotal role in how she views personal care and beauty routines.

“Having my babies, especially my girls, inspires me to level up my approach to beauty while I take care of myself,” Ciara told Harper’s Bazaar. “My seven-year-old definitely looks up to me and every night when I’m on tour she’s getting in the glam chair herself after I’m finished. She likes to emulate the things that I do and it is so sweet to see.”

Ciara and her husband, NFL quarterback Russell Wilson, are parents to three children: Sienna, 7; Win, 4; and Amora, 7 months.

Ciara also has a 10-year-old son, Future, from a previous relationship.

The 38-year-old artist admits that managing beauty routines with four children can be challenging, but she has “mastered being able to get myself together quickly.”

Even as a beauty role model for her young children, Ciara shared that her own inspiration came from her makeup artist and her grandmother.

“Yolonda Frederick gets beauty like no other. She’s now 60 years old and it’s insane to see how beautiful she is and how well she takes care of herself,” she said. “I also have to give love to my grandma. Whenever I would see her dressed to the nines, her makeup was always so beautifully placed and she always looked elegant.”

Jordan Chiles’ Olympic Medal Stripped—Fans Say Decision Feels “Deeply Anti-Black”

Gymnast Jordan Chiles became a trending Twitter (X) topic on Sunday (August 11) after the bronze medal she won for her floor exercise was stripped by the International Olympic Committee and given to Romanian gymnast Ana Bărbosu. The decision caused an uproar on social media, with many calling it “deeply anti-Black.”

Chiles had initially finished fifth in the competition last Monday (August 5), before U.S. coach Cecile Landi successfully lobbied that Chiles’ difficulty score had been undercredited. Officials on the scene agreed and adjusted her score by 0.1 points to 13.766, which elevated Chiles above two Romanian athletes. Consequently, Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said he’d refuse to attend the Olympic closing ceremony in protest.

Nearly a week later, the International Olympic Committee said it would abide by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which ruled that Landi’s protest was made 64 seconds after scores were posted—while the deadline for such debate is one minute.

“Following the CAS decision with regard to the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Floor Exercise Final and the amendment of the ranking by the International Gymnastics Federation, the IOC will reallocate the bronze medal to Ana Bărbosu (Romania),” the IOC said in a statement. “We are in touch with the NOC of Romania to discuss the reallocation ceremony and with USOPC regarding the return of the bronze medal.”

There’s still hope for Chiles. The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee said it would be filing an appeal of its own.

It said in a statement, “We firmly believe that Jordan rightfully earned the bronze medal, and there were critical errors in both the initial scoring by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and the subsequent CAS appeal process that need to be addressed. Given these circumstances, we are committed to pursuing an appeal to help Jordan Chiles receive the recognition she deserves. We remain dedicated to supporting her as an Olympic champion and will continue to work diligently to resolve this matter swiftly and fairly.”

Still, social media continued to blow up with reactions to the decision. Chiles’ mother, who caught wind of the racist insults being hurled at her daughter, wrote, “The racist disgusting comments are still happening in 2024. I’m tired of people who say it no longer exists. My daughter is a highly decorated Olympian with the biggest heart and a level of sportsmanship that is unmatched…and she’s being called disgusting things.”

Crazy Legs & Kurtis Blow Talk Breaking Hitting ’24 Olympics—The Celebration & Controversy

Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur Examines Hip-Hop Breaking into the Olympics, A Dance with Opportunity and…Controversy

The 1970s were a transformative era for Hip-Hop culture. Before the elements began to go their separate ways, breaking—also called breakdancing—emerged from the the Bronx as a vibrant form of expression. Characterized by acrobatic and rhythmic moves, breaking quickly became a cornerstone of American culture. Breakers were suddenly thrust into the forefront, included in movies and given the opportunity to tour the world. Richard Colón, internationally known as Crazy Legs, and Kurtis Blow are two of the ambassadors who helped take Hip-Hop to the next level.

Now, as breaking ascends to the global stage of the Olympics, Blow feels a profound sense of honor and gratitude.

“To see it transform and transcend to what it is now, man, in the Olympics—I am just so honored and grateful that I’m alive to see this,” he shared in a recent interview.

The inclusion of breaking in the Olympics signifies not only recognition of its artistic and athletic value but also a celebration of its deep roots in Hip-Hop culture.

Crazy Legs shared his perspective on the inclusion of breaking in the Olympics, a decision that has stirred both excitement and controversy within his coveted dance community. With breaking making its Olympic debut in Paris 2024, the potential for global recognition and career advancement for dancers is immense.

“It’s a great opportunity for people who want to be on the world stage and have the opportunity to hopefully leverage that situation into something that moves their dance careers forward,” Crazy Legs remarked.

He emphasized the potential for this platform to elevate the dance and increase awareness about its rich history and the contributions of its legends and pioneers. Yet, he remains cautious about the broader implications, stating, “I can only hope that they maintain the integrity of the judging system, the judges, any kind of ambassadorship program.”

Breaking originated in the Bronx during the early 1970s, born out of the burgeoning Hip-Hop culture that was beginning to sprout in New York City. Soon, it would spread to Los Angeles and the rest of the world. Breaking evolved as a form of street dance, characterized by its energetic style and intricate moves, including spins, freezes and power moves. The dance form quickly became a cornerstone of Hip-Hop, influencing music, fashion and youth culture globally.

However, the omission of breaking from the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics has sparked discontent, especially among American pioneers of the dance. Despite its deep American roots, breaking was excluded from the list of sports, a decision that Crazy Legs views as a significant oversight.

“The fact that the US Olympic Committee didn’t choose breaking for the 2028 Olympics is kind of a slap in the face when you take into account that France added breaking to its roster of events,” he stated. “When your own country turns its back on you, it is kind of a tough one when you look at them selecting disciplines from other countries.”

Furthermore, none of the pioneers or early breakers like Crazy Legs’s Rock Steady Crew, New York City Breakers or other crews are involved at all.

The decision underscores a broader issue within the dance community, where support for cultural events and promoters who genuinely understand and invest in the essence of the dance is crucial.

“We have to continue to support the events that people naturally go to or have been going to throughout the decades and continue to support those promoters who are really about the culture and really are in support of the dance and the individuals who do the dance,” Crazy Legs asserted.

The integration of breaking into the Olympics, while momentous, is not without its challenges. Crazy Legs draws a parallel to basketball, noting, “Basketball is in the Olympics, but the Olympics will never be the NBA.”

He suggests that while the Olympics provide a global stage, they cannot fully capture the essence of breaking events rooted in Hip-Hop culture. “The Olympics could never be of the essence when it comes to the way hip hop throws breaking events,” he concluded.

Blow’s largely unknown history as a dancer provides a particular and unique lens.

“We used to break dance on cardboards and, my God, we used to break dance on the rooftops,” Blow said. “That was our safe haven back in the ’70s.”

Breaking will be used in both Crazy Legs and Blow’s ventures, regardless of what the Olympics do in Los Angeles. Crazy Legs has his PRS Fest on August 31 in Patterson New Jersey and the event will celebrate all of the elements.

Redman, Method Man, Big Daddy Kane & All Of Hip-Hop’s Elements To Be Repped At PRS Festival

The PRS Fest expects to be a vibrant celebration of the four elements of Hip-Hop: MCs, DJing, breakdancing and graffiti. The festival promises unexpected delights with its curated immersive experiences, including a special video presentation by KRS-One and celebrations honoring the breakers from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Method Man and Redman, Big Daddy Kane, The Jungle Brothers, Furious 5, Lords of the Underground, Mr. Cheeks of the Lost Boyz, Monie Love and others will perform.

Meanwhile, Blow’s The Hip Hop Nutcracker rounds out its 12th season, underscoring the power of Hip-Hop. The dance, once performed on cardboard is now a celebrated stage show. “Who would ever think we’d have breakdancing in the Hip-Hop Nutcracker,” Blow marveled.

The modern classic ballet blends Hip-Hop with Tchaikovsky’s timeless score and puts a notch in Hip-Hop’s cultural belt.

As breaking prepares to take its place on the Olympic stage, the dance community remains hopeful yet vigilant, striving to preserve the authenticity and spirit of this iconic art form. The journey of breaking from the streets of the Bronx to the global spotlight of the Olympics is a testament to its enduring influence and cultural significance.

Machine Gun Kelly Speaks About His Emotional Reunion With His Mother

Machine Gun Kelly delved into his rocky relationship with his mother during an open interview on “Dumb Blonde,” hosted by Bunnie XO.

The eighth season premiere revealed the singer’s emotional journey of love and estrangement.

“I would like to say for the record I love my mom dearly and I misrepresented her a lot early in my career,” said Machine Gun Kelly, addressing his past public comments head-on.

The rapper-turned-rockstar continued, explaining how his representations were steeped in his personal experience rather than an all-encompassing truth.

“And not misrepresented in the sense of not speaking truth. I was speaking my truth, but I didn’t give the masses the chance to understand her truth,” he added, acknowledging the nuances of their strained past.

Kelly’s troubled childhood included his mother leaving the family, which led to years without contact.

The lack of communication left scars that Kelly explored in his 2019 hit song, “Burning Memories,” where he expressed his pain, rhyming, “I spent 20 years waiting on the stairs / Now I’m finished thinking anyone’ll ever hear these prayers.”

During the interview, Machine Gun Kelly shared his raw plea for connection.

“You gotta get to me,” he lamented. “Come f**king find me no matter what it takes.”

These words reveal his deep yearning for his mother during their years apart.

After years of estrangement, mother and son found their way back to each other in 2021.

Their reconciliation culminated in a heartwarming Instagram post from Kelly in 2022. The picture showed the pair reunited, with the caption, “Introducing my mom,” signaling a new chapter in their relationship.

André 3000 Seems To Denounce Drake & Kendrick Lamar Beef: “Not Sure It’s Even Worth It”

André 3000 just provided his opinion on the rap battle stemming from Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s bitter beef, and his reaction may be as on-brand as it is a bit of a shocker.

During his latest interview with Cracked Magazine, Three Stacks dove into the rap beef that captivated fans throughout much of the summer. In revealing his reaction to the face-off between Drizzy and K. Dot, André appeared to express his disdain for the high-level beef because he felt like it became much more than battle rapping.

“I got a little sad, at a certain point,” André said. “In early rap battles, you had kids in the park rapping against each other. But it’s not just people rapping now.”

He continued, referencing his belief that these types of rap beef put much more at stake than just an artist’s reputation.

“You got people with 100 employees,” he said. “You have livelihoods, empires, companies, deals – all of it can be jeopardized. If you don’t have anything to lose, sure, go for it. But if I already made it, I’m not sure it’s even worth it anymore.”

Elsewhere in the interview, André 3000 revealed his reaction to Kendrick name-dropping him in his verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” collaboration. Considering the record is widely pinned as the incendiary shot that sparked the beef, the Outkast rap legend had a much more amicable reaction to it than his overall assertion of the rap battle that ensued after the track was released.

“As a 49-year-old rapper, you’re just happy to get a shoutout [hahaha],” he said. “But as a rapper, l’ve noticed myself walking around with this stick. So it was a line for me, too, and I was trying to find a way to use it. But he used it, so I had to say: “Yeah, he got it.”

Kanye West Threatens Atlantic Records, Alleges Label’s Demanding “Vultures” Albums Profits

Kanye West is speaking out after revealing both VULTURES 1 and VULTURES 2 may be removed from streaming platforms due to a dispute with Atlantic Records.

On Thursday (August 8), West shared a message on his Instagram Story featuring a text message thread in which he was informed former Atlantic Records Chairman/CEO Julie Greenwald was fired from her post. In addition to breaking the news to Ye, the text revealed that the incoming executive at Atlantic is allegedly demanding 40 percent of all revenue from both albums or else they will be pulled from streaming platforms.

“Co-head of Atlantic Julie Greenwald just called me,” the text reads. “She just got fired. She said the new head is not going to give us a grace period to handle Atlantic’s compensation.

“She suggested I let [distributors] Too Lost and Create know that 40 percent of all revenue from V1 and V2 needs to be paid to Atlantic She’s saying that if we don’t handle immediately Atlantic will issue take downs for both albums Pls advise.”

In response to the news, Kanye wrote on his Instagram Story, “This is what ‘they’ do to independent artists. “This is my favorite part,” before questioning who Atlantic’s new chairman/CEO is.

Apparently, the situation with Atlantic Records isn’t the only potential barrier standing in the way of the success of West and Ty’s latest collaborative effort. The Chicago rapper’s longtime adversary Taylor Swift released four new versions of her album, The Tortured Poet’s Department, on July 8 — seemingly in response to West and Ty Dolla $ign dropping four new versions of VULTURES 2.

Fan theories have emerged that Swift was attempting to block West from securing a chart-topping debut for the project, considering she delivered the releases to streaming one hour before the end of the sales tracking week. According to HITS Daily Double, West and Ty’s effort is set to debut with around 83,000 first-week sales, while Swift’s LP is expected to post around 142,000 units.

While Greenwald and West’s connection to each other is somewhat vague outside of their obvious ties from a record label standpoint, one may recall that she testified during an October 2021 court hearing in a case stemming from NBA YoungBoy’s indictment in March that year.

PARTYNEXTDOOR Confirms Drake Collab Project Will Arrive With At Least 15 New Cuts

PARTYNEXTDOOR has appeared to confirm he and Drake’s forthcoming collaborative project is much further along than any of us could have imagined.

PARTYNEXTDOOR recently brought Drake out at his Toronto concert where they made the announcement about their upcoming joint effort. While it seemed as though was merely teasing the collab between himself and Party, the Internet immediately picked up on his mention of the album and began circulating news about it.

“Do what you need to do, I know all you girls are outside and when it gets a little chilly, Partynextdoor and Drake album will be waiting for you,” Drake said.

Now, it appears as though Drake wasn’t just putting on a show for fans and cappin’ while he was on stage during his brief appearance at the show.

In a recent interview, PARTYNEXTDOOR did, he not only confirms The existence of the album, but essentially affirmed the tracklisting for the project in a roundabout way. When asked what his favorite collaboration he has ever released, he alluded to it being the current music they are working on.

“The one we doing right now,” PARTYNEXTDOOR replied. “All 15, all 15 we doing right now.”

While details about the project, other than the word of mouth coming from the horse itself, are scarce, chances are this could be an electric collaboration for the pair of artists. Despite rumors circulating about a rift between Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR, Drizzy gave the “Cheers” vocalist his flowers during his guest spot at his show — and pretty much called him the R&B G.O.A.T. in the process.

“I want to say this while I’m here, your music has changed my f###ing life, has changed my style,” Drake said. “Anytime I need to get inspired, I listen to some party s###.

“You know, you’ve done incredible songs for me. We’ve done incredible songs together. I’m so f###### grateful for you. I love you with all my heart. This f###### city loves you so much. Shout out to Party’s mother and father for birthing like I said, the greatest.”

Plies Claims Elon Musk Bought Twitter To Influence Election, Makes Trump Prediction

Plies is calling out Elon Musk, claiming he bought Twitter (X) to sway the upcoming presidential election in Donald Trump’s favor amid the announcement the billionaire Tesla founder will interview Trump on the platform.

The Florida rapper has been a vocal critic of Trump and has thrown his support behind Kamala Harris. Earlier this week, amid news of Trump’s interview with Elon Musk, Plies shared his concerns about the future of the platform.

“I Can See Elon Shutting Down Twitter When Trump Continues To Fall Behind In The Polls,” he predicted. ”He Brought Twitter To Influence The Election. An Before He Accepts A Trump Loss I Believe He’ll Shut It All Down!!!!!”

On Tuesday (August 6), Donald Trump announced the Elon Musk interview on his Truth Social platform. “On Monday night I’ll be doing a major interview with Elon Musk,” he wrote in all capitals. “Details to follow!”

Trump addressed the interview at a press conference at his Mar-A-Lago estate on Thursday (August 8).

“Elon called me, as you know he endorsed me full throated, a great endorsement. I respect Elon a lot, he respects me,” he said. “He told me he is going to have a show Monday, I think Monday night, and he invited me so it’ll be very interesting. A lot of people are talking about it. I look forward to it.”

Last weekend, Trump addressed the tech mogul’s endorsement at a rally in Georgia. “I’m for electric cars,” he said. “I have to be because, you know, Elon endorsed me very strongly. So I have no choice.”

Nonetheless, Plies believes Kamala Harris and her newly-announced running mate Tim Walz are the winning ticket.

“I Was Just Sitting Here Comparing & Contrasting Something & I’m Like Are We Really Debating Dis???? Am I Missing Something??’ Plies questioned, alongside a video evaluating the candidates’ strengths.

In another video, Plies urged Harris to decline to debate Trump and tell him she’s “booked and busy.”

“Because he can tell 72 g###### lies in that debate and it ain’t gone change nothing with him.,” Plies explained.“Muthafuckas already know he’s a liar. You can tell a .5 lie, and you gone’ be headline news tomorrow.”

EXCLUSIVE: 50 Cent Wins Again – Defeats Wiretapping Claim

50 Cent scored another big win in court this week after a judge booted a $4 million lawsuit accusing the rapper of wiretapping a guy who is accused of stealing from his liquor company, Sire Spirits.

Michael Caruso, who once managed the Wu-Tang Clan, is accused of participating in a scheme to defraud 50 Cent and his liquor company Sire Spirits out of millions of dollars.

However, Caruso tried to file his own lawsuit against Fif, claiming the rap star illegally recorded a conversation at his office and then turned the conversation over to his lawyers who used the tape in depositions and other legal proceedings.

A judge ruled against Caruso claiming he sat on the information too long.

“These claims are time-barred. Caruso has known about the fact of the recording since 2021 and has been on inquiry notice as to who made the recording since that time. It is now 2024. The statute of limitations is two years. Hence, the claim is time-barred,” Judge Melissa A. Crane ruled.

The win is a big deal for 50 Cent.

50 Cent is suing Beam Suntory for at least $6 million, contending Caruso teamed three other people – Gina Caruso (Michael Caruso’s wife) another man named Julious Grant and Mitchell Green, a consultant, to exploit product prices through hidden fees and kickbacks.

The fraud allowed them to pocket millions behind 50 Cent’s back between 2015 and 2020.

Grant allegedly got greedy and started to extort Caruso and Green for more money, and it was at that point that Green decided it was best to meet with 50 Cent’s lawyers, along with a former FBI agent probing the fraud on behalf of Sire Spirits.

During the call, which was organized by Green, while everyone was listening, Caruso admitted to stealing, began weeping and allegedly threatened to commit suicide if Green confessed the scam to 50 Cent.

In a separate case, Green was found guilty and an arbitration panel determined that he must pay more than $6 million to 50 Cent’s company.

Despite the win on the wiretapping portion of the lawsuit, 50 Cent is still fighting with Caruso, who claims he played a crucial role in launching and promoting Sire Spirits’ premium liquor brand starting in 2015.

Caruso claims he was short-changed regarding a promised ownership stake.

The legal wins just keep coming for Fif. Last week, AllHipHop.com broke the news – 50 Cent defeated a former drug kingpin who sued for $1 billion over claims “Power” was based on his life.

EXCLUSIVE: The Game Must Appear In Court In Order To Keep His Home

The Game‘s sexual assault accuser, Priscilla Rainey, refuses to give up. For the past few years, she’s been relentlessly trying to collect the roughly $7 million judgement that was awarded to her in the case. Now, she’s taking it up a notch and coming after his home.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Game is expected in court on October 7 in Los Angeles in order to explain why his Calabasas mansion shouldn’t be sold to satisfy the debt. The order was signed by United States District Judge Mark C. Scarsi on Wednesday (August 7).

Last month, Rainey served The Game and his manager, Wack 100, in hopes of seizing his Calabasas property. A process server sent a notice of levy, writ of execution and more to The Game and Wack 100 on Rainey’s behalf in June. Both men were listed at the same address. Rainey accused The Game of transferring his home’s deed to Wack 100 to prevent her from seizing it.

AllHipHop previously reported on Rainey subpoenaing The Game’s kids’ school district for proof of residence and attendance records in her collection efforts. She already seized his publishing and label.

Rainey, a contestant on The Game’s VH1 reality show She’s Got Game, initially sued him in 2015, alleging sexual battery. A jury awarded her roughly $7 million in 2016 after he didn’t show up to court. The Game claimed he would never pay the debt.

“Don’t be fooled by these accusations or the dollar amount in the headlines cause I put that on my favorite aunties poodle this broad ain’t gettin s###!” he wrote on Instagram in 2016. “Every girl on that show will tell u I never touched this chick or ever desired to be anywhere near her.

“She got kicked off the show & as a result she filed this lame lawsuit which was probably her intentions before the show was ever even started. She was begging for my attention the entire time we shot the show & was given the ultimate Major League Baseball CURVE ball so that upset her & made her lil wee wee hard so she did what all chicks like her do when life gives them no other options…. They sue you!”

An appeals court rejected The Game’s request for a new trial. Rainey sued him again over his refusal to pay the $7 million judgment. She won the suit last year.

Meanwhile, The Game is working on his next album, Documentary III. The same day the order was signed, he posted an Instagram photo of himself in the studio, confirming production had officially begun.

Kesha Plans To Diss Diddy On New Version Of “Tik Tok”

Kesha is set to re-record her debut hit “Tik Tok” with a significant lyric change.

She announced this on Instagram while celebrating the 15th anniversary of the track’s release on August 7, 2009.

Born out of a joyful and carefree spirit, “Tik Tok” marked Kesha’s maiden venture into the music world with her voice and name.

“TiK ToK was the first single that I put into this world that had my voice AND my name credited!!!! I remember making it fun and happy because that’s how I felt and wanted others to feel,” she wrote. “What I’m so proud of is that’s how this song STILL makes me feel, through it all, and those are emotions I want all of us to connect to. 15 (!!!!!!) years later, I see this song as a snapshot into the way I saw the world at the time. That girl was naive and wild and playful. This song eternalizes a side of myself that I love very much, and now see I have to protect fiercely. The world has changed so much and so have I.”

Earlier this year, Kesha and Reneé Rapp altered the song’s famous opening line, “wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy,” during their Coachella performance, switching it to “wake up in the morning, like, ‘F**k P. Diddy.'”

The lyric swap followed allegations against Hip-Hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs by his former partner Cassie Ventura, who accused him of physical and sexual abuse, which Combs has denied.

The lawsuit was eventually settled out of court and dismissed.

Kesha expressed her enthusiasm for the revised line, giving a nod to Rapp and promising fans a permanent change.

“I absolutely love the new lyric change. (Shout out to @reneerapp). Yes, it is permanent. I will re-record it when I have legal rights to! Now, my first baby stands for so much. It stands for fiercely protecting fun and unadulterated joy, in myself and in others. The whole ride has been absolute insanity, but the JOY is still riding,” she said.

She also highlighted her new single “Joyride,” adding, “I hope you all can find 3 1/2 minutes of play in this song and connect with your wild child-like joy. Thank you for making my life so magical animals, it’s one for the books!”

Breaking In The Olympics: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

With just one more day of the 2024 Paris Olympics to go, the United States has racked up 111 medals and counting, in everything from track and field to gymnastics. For the first time in Olympic history, breaking (or breakdancing) was included on the itinerary. But its inclusion is getting mixed reviews.

The trouble began on Friday (August 9), when Lithuania’s silver medalist Nicka was criticized on social media for donning a durag during each of her battles. Worn by those who aren’t Black, durags can be seen as cultural appropriation, and Nicka is white. The 17-year-old breaker ultimately won the silver medal after losing in the final to Japan’s b-girl Ami. Am

Then there was the Australian b-girl Raygun, a 36-year-old college professor competing against women half her age. Not only was she mocked for her outfit, but she was also ridiculed for her questionable dance moves, which failed to resemble traditional breaking in any way. With moves like the “kangaroo,” she didn’t get a single vote from any of the nine judges. A clip of her performance went viral and she quickly fired back, “Looking forward to the same level of scrutiny on what the b-boys wear tomorrow.”

She later defended her bizarre performance to reporters, saying, “I was never going to beat these girls on what they do best, the dynamic and the power moves, so I wanted to move differently, be artistic and creative because how many chances do you get in a lifetime to do that on an international stage?”

Despite the jokes, having breaking included in the Olympics was a monumental occasion, especially for an art form that sprouted from the gritty streets of New York City decades ago. B-girl Logistx, who was representing Team USA, didn’t advance past the round-robin stage but was still immensely proud of her performance.

On Saturday (August 10), she wrote a heartfelt post on Instagram, thanking Hip-Hop culture and the pioneers who paved the way. She also suggested she didn’t exactly agree with the judge’s decisions.

“Trust you are seen,” she wrote. “All your life’s battles. Even if it stays between you and God. Although I didn’t walk away with the outcome I envisioned, I still fought through to be here and did what I came here to do and that was to represent and enjoy. I love how I danced out there and that makes me proud. Some rounds I really felt I won but it’s okay it’s how the game goes sometimes and I’m so grateful I’m here with the chance to share.

Shoutout to Hip Hop for being a light in my life. SHOUTOUT TO THE PIONEERS/CREATORS OF BREAKIN. Thank you Breakin for being true medicine. Thank God for dance and music. The dance makes me happy. I’m confident this is healthy for the world and create happiness and peace. BIPOC / HIP HOP / BREAKIN IS NOT TO BE MESSED WITH WE ARE TO BE RESPECTED.”

Logistx spoke to reporters following her appearance and encouraged the International Olympic Committee to keep breaking in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Plans to exclude it are already underway.

Still, the excitement throughout Hip-Hop culture was palpable. Ice-T wrote on Instagram, “Olympic BreakDancing starts Today! 10am Eastern Time… This is gonna blow the minds of people that haven’t seen breaking in a while… INCREDIBLE All Respect to HIPHOP.” He later stood up for the sport on Twitter (X), saying, “Lol…. The people talking s### about the Olympic Breaking event can’t even sit on the floor and stand back up without trouble… And some just Hate HipHop… I understand.. F em RESPECT to the athletes.”

Meanwhile, B-Boy Victor Montalvo—who won the 2023 World Championship title and was the World Games 2022 champion—took on Japan’s Shigekix for the U.S. with Black Sheep’s “The Choice is Yours” blaring in the background. He’s expected to clinch gold at the finals on Saturday (August 10).

Before Friday’s battles began, Snoop Dogg made a grand entrance into the stadium to the soundtrack of “Drop it Like it’s Hot,” prompting cheers and dancing in the stands. No matter what the future holds for breaking in the Olympics, Hip-Hop was fully represented on an international stage—and that’s gold.

Sexyy Red Thanks Trick Daddy For “Hottest Female Rapper” Crown During Awards Snub Rant

Trick Daddy recently uncovered an unlikely Miami to St. Louis connection while giving Sexyy Red her flowers during a recent episode of his podcast.

The 305 representer didn’t hold back in his address of Big Sexyy on the latest installment of his B###h I Got My Pots podcast cooking show in which he discussed what he sees as a glaring oversight at a recent awards show. Trick Daddy, known for his unfiltered opinions, expressed his frustration over the “Get It Sexyy” rapper being snubbed for a BET Award earlier this summer.

“One of the most hottest female rappers in decades,” Trick Daddy started off. “Sexyy Red…You got snubbed. Yeah, I said, and you got snubbed. You got snubbed.”

As he dove deeper into the exact award in question he felt she deserved, Trick Daddy highlighted Sexyy Red’s undeniable presence and popularity in the current music scene.

“Sexyy Red was up for the rapper, entertainer, performer,” he said. “One of ’em other year. I remember last year, they was hating on her since she wasn’t making, now I can’t go in a club. I can’t step in a club without hearing some Sexyy Reds.”

Drawing from his own experiences in the music industry, Trick Daddy explained the familiar feeling of being overlooked. In fact, he essentially compared the early stages of his career with Sexyy Red’s, arguing that he experienced some of the same sort of treatment before he really broke through to the mainstream.

“I remember when I was heavy in the music, I was in my prime,” he said. “And every year I would have different excuses from the producers and executives of all the rap and Hip-Hop award shows. ‘Oh, it’s about timing. When you came out and you didn’t come out in time and you didn’t do this in time.'”

He continued, seemingly shading Tyla, who was the recipient of the aforementioned award over Sexyy Red.

“Y’all snubbed her and y’all gave her award to somebody else,” he said. “So somebody told me, ‘Well, the other girl is international,’ but God damnit, international. This is not no international award show. She’s international s###. I don’t like s### like that.”

Trick Daddy’s passionate defense of Sexyy Red shows his disdain for what he sees as an unfair industry practice, making it clear he believes she deserved recognition.

“But she’s not going to be around. You said that already? Show you right,” he concluded, hinting that Sexyy Red’s impact will endure despite the snub.

Sexyy Red caught wind of his comments and replied, “Just saw this right on OG. preciate dat fr.”

Blueface Hit With 4-Year Prison Sentence—But Wack 100 Thinks He’ll Be Out In 10 Months

Blueface was sentenced to four years in prison on Friday (August 9), leaving his mother and father understandably emotional.

The “Thotiana” rapper was handed the stiff sentence due to a probation violation related to a 2021 incident in which he assaulted a security guard at a club in San Fernando Valley. The probation violation stemmed from that assault, and his recent sentencing reflects the culmination of his legal issues.

Although he received a four-year sentence, his manager, Wack 100, clarified that due to time already served and other factors, his sentence was effectively reduced to around three years. He expects Blueface to serve only about nine to 10 more months in prison due to the credits he has accumulated for time served.

In an interview following the hearing, Wack 1oo explained he was able to get Blueface’s sentencing suspended for the past few years, but due to being caught with drug paraphernalia, the judge was forced to give him the maximum sentence.

Kevin Hart Jokes Continue Amid Ongoing Michael Jordan Feud

Kevin Hart’s lighthearted joke about Michael Jordan at a charity event over eight years ago ignited a lasting rift between the comedian and the former basketball legend, and Hart says he “could care less” about the silent treatment.

During his “Acting My Age” stand-up show in New Jersey, Kevin Hart described how Jordan’s pouting began when he made fun of the sports icon’s tardiness.

“Michael’s had an attitude with me for years because I hosted a celebrity event for him and he came in late,” Kevin Hart told the crowd according to the DailyMail.com. “I saw him coming in late and I hit him with a joke. It was quick. It was all in fun. I don’t know where it came from. I just hit him with a quick one. Michael had an attitude. Hasn’t talked to me since.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Hart joked about Jordan’s fashion sense, calling him a “horrible dresser” and criticizing his jeans.

Despite the digs, Hart remains unfazed by the animosity.

“I don’t give a s###. I could care less. I can f###### care less,” Hart said. “I’m at a point in my life where it’s very hard to bother me.”

Hart, age 45, also shared that Michael Jordan has become increasingly distant, stating they “don’t get along” and that the former Chicago Bulls player is “not a Kevin Hart fan.”

In another stand-up routine, Hart teased Jordan’s sons, Jeffrey and Marcus, during his latest comedy tour.

Nonetheless, Marcus, at least, appears to hold no ill will. He attended Hart’s show in Las Vegas and praised him on social media.

“@kevinhart4real, the hilarious man, has a new joke about myself, my brother @heirjordan13, and @jumpman23. Go watch that,” Marcus posted.
