Though A$AP Yams has passed on, A$AP Rocky is making sure to keep his memory alive. As he was executive producing Rocky’s album A.L.L.A, Yams was also working on an album of his own, titled the Cozy Tapes. Now, the “Everyday” rapper is working to make sure that the project is released.
“I was mostly working on my album At.Long.Last.A$AP while he was curating and organizing who he wanted for the [Cozy Tapes], ” Rocky told MTV News. “So he put it all in his notebook that I carry around with me every day. I’ve got all of his thoughts and I just plan to execute what he started.”

Chris Brown is seeking to have a gag order set in place against his daughter’s mother, Nia Guzman. According to TMZ, Breezy is hoping the judge will help him silence Guzman and keep her from talking negatively about him as a father in the media and social media. The two appeared in court in Houston, TX today (Sept. 11).
Besides filing the injunction against Guzman, the main matter at hand is establishing a custody agreement for Royalty as well as child support payments. Guzman wants $15,000 a month but Brown wants to pay $2,500 a month. The “X” singer is also not on Royalty’s birth certificate, which will also be handled in court.

Mon$tarr Aka Inky Ink might be the lamest and pettiest “rapper” period. He recently posted an alleged DM from Kylie Jenner to his Instagram with the caption,
“#TMIGANG FOO That’s not your girl @kinggoldchains that’s ours.”
Isn’t this the same guy that photoshopped himself in a Facetime screenshot with Chris Brown? People will do anything for attention!
Rick Ross’ baby mama, Tia Kemp, is still acting up on social media. Rick Ross took her BMW back after she took shots at him and his new girlfriend Lira. Kemp has now posted pics with Rick Ross with Diddy, Jay Z, T.I., French Montana, Lebron James, and even their son next to the BMW; in an effort to get them to convince him to return the car. Now since she says she used the car to drive their son to school, maybe Ross was being a little bit petty, whether he paid for the car or not. Kemp has to stop going on these social media rants too, and the two need to come to an agreement off social media. What’s crazy is the fact that Kemp admits to still sleeping with Rick Ross currently, and sleeping with him while he was with his past girlfriends too.
Off of the mixtape Do You Believe?, here is the video to conceptual record “Calling Me” by Jax The Uncrowned Ruler, produced by June Heata. The Virginia MC parallels the world of music, and his love for the ganja with the likes of a female counterpart. Although slightly cliche with artist such as Common (I use to love h.e.r) & Jay-Z (Dear Summer), it stands in its own lane apart from the rest. Check out the dope conceptual record and also The Uncrowned Ruler’s Do You Believe? mixtape below as well.
Well some feminists are saying that they don’t believe Beyonce is fully invested in the movement and is only doing all of this for show! While most loved Beyonce’s mix of her classic hits and new popular songs, others were not too impressed. Bey threw her a** in a “Circle”, turned up to Future’s “Where Ya At’, and even hopped out the Porsche to T-wayne’s “Nasty.” Queen Bey used a quote from Ronda Rousey about how she is not a “do-nothing-b*tch.” Huffington Post editor, Alanna Vagianos, is even calling Beyoncé’s performance a “watered down” and “problematic” display of support for feminism. Do you think Bey’s feminism is of genuine care for the movement or just a call for attention?

While Rihanna has been linked to Leonardo DiCaprio, Karim Benzema, and Lewis Hamilton, her and Travis Scott may actually be more than friends. RiRi has been spotted several times this week with him. She attended all three of his NYC Gramercy Theatre shows and the two were allegedly seen dancing and getting close at a club. Maybe they are just really good friends……with benefits.
Straight Outta Compton has started a trend. It seems a lot of Hip Hop stars are now considering making their own biopics.
Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik fans may see the story of two Atlanta legends on the big screen in the future. Big Boi did an AMA on Reddit, and one user asked him if there was any chance an OutKast movie could happen one day.
“Me and ‘Dre were just discussing this over Labor Day. Stay tuned,” said Big.
If the biopic does happen, will Andre 3000 and Big Boi play themselves? They’ve both acted before, even in the same movie. Remember Idlewild?
Big also made it clear the two Grammy winners are back to being close friends.
“We’ve been going paintballing and had a good personal summer of brotherhood. We’ve been doing music so long together that we’re just getting back to the friendship,” said Big.
Hopefully that friendship leads to at least more new music from Kast.
(AllHipHop News) OutKast emcee Big Boi and electronic duo Phantogram have come together to form the supergroup Big Grams. The ATLien connected with New York residents Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel to conduct a Reddit “Ask Me Anything” session where the fans were able to question the musicians. The Big Grams EP is scheduled for release on September 25th.
Here are some highlights from Big Boi and Phantogram’s AMA:
phantogramfan: Will the tour include renditions of songs from outside the project? Would be ill to hear Sarah sing the hook to “Follow Us”, Big rapping over “Black Out Days” etc.
Josh & Sarah: We have plans to do some experimenting with mixing up some Big verses with Phantogram beats. Big has already written a verse that is unreleased for “Black Out Days” and it would also be dope to hear Big rap on tracks like “When I’m Small.”
–
anticrastination: It sounds like you guys have had a lot of fun making this album, and Fell in the Sun is already a winner. Do you have any favorite tracks or background stories that you can share? Looking forward to the tour!
Sarah: The first song we started working on day one in the studio with Big was “Drum Machine” and we recorded vocals that afternoon.
Big: We were wrapping up the record and later on down the stretch Josh stayed in my pool house for like a week and a half finishing up the record, eating dinner with my family and we went to The Blue Flame with Dave Chappelle. Dave was like “I can’t f*cking believe I’m in here!”
–
spoonman1015: Sarah and Josh: what have you learned from working with Big Boi so far? as a dude with a career going back decades you must have learned some super interesting things, even stories or whatever. Big Boi: what have you learned from working with Sarah and Josh?
Big: Whoa, decades?!
Josh & Sarah: Stay confident in what we do and always be forward thinking. Don’t second guess ourselves. Sarah and I are both Aquemini and we’ve modeled a lot of our career after Big Boi and Outkast so hearing all of that from one of our heroes has been reassuring that we’re on the right path.
–
eklxtreme: Any plans for a full-length album? Who would you like to collaborate with in the future?
N/A: Yeah, we’re gonna keep making music as Big Grams so definitely! If Missy Elliott wants to be on a track later on, holler!
–
CorgiCadet: What was the moment/idea/thread/spark/groove that brought you all together? I’ve been a huge fan of your collective work, but I was still surprised (and extremely happy) to see you collaborate together on this scale.
Josh: When we were at Stankonia working on VLADR with Big.
Big: Everything we did sounded good as f*ck, we was batting .1000 so we just kept working.
R.A. is one sick puppy! While everybody is hating Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj wants to know “What’s Good?” this guy is remixing the pop princess. Check out “Dooo it (Miley Cyrus remix).
Well, DJ Skee had the internet on fire last night when he tweeted that a mixtape from two rappers was about to drop out of no where today.
That single tweet from Skee led to “Future & Drake” to become a trending topic on Twitter as fans assumed the 6 God and the Freebandz President were the two rappers about to join forces.
Of course, there is no official word about a Future/Drake collab project. We can’t even be sure Skee is accurate. He has put out statements about joint projects in the past that didn’t quite play out like he said. (see: Jay Z & Beyonce Reportedly Working On A Joint Album).
Jaeson Green is a fascinating young artist coming straight out of Dallas, TX. Having been drawn to music at a young age, Jaeson’s knack for melodic hooks and seemingly effortlessly crafted verses are able to captivate the listener the moment the project starts. Green’s new body of work includes 10 new tracks that you can play from start to finish, with standout singles like “X,” which Jaeson has provided the official optics for along with the release of his new project A. P.O.M.E (A Piece of Me) available for purchase via iTunes.
(AllHipHop News) Back in December of 2014, police raided Quad Studios in New York City. Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda, along with several members of his GS9 crew, were arrested and later hit with over 100 charges.
Revolt spoke with GS9 affiliate O.P about the night the group was taken down at Manhattan’s Quad Recording Studios. New York City Police suspected Shmurda was the leader of a Crips gang that was involved in illegal weapons and murder.
“That was the crazy part. They caught everyone in one night. Everyone happened to be in Quad Studios,” said O.P. (aka On Point) who claims he was at the scene when the arrests were made.
He later added, “If the cops watch this interview they’re gonna be upset. When they came in, I acted like I was sleeping. They came in I was sleep.”
O.P. thought he was going to be arrested as well, but apparently cops said he was not “on their list.” According to On Point, he was eventually taken into custody and placed in the same cell as Bobby. Unlike the rest of GS9, O.P. was booked in Brooklyn and later released.
Yes, DJ Paul is “Crazy”, but some of his homies are a little more insane in this Dan Fisk-directed video from DJ Paul’s recent mixtape Da Light Up Da Poe Up.
