A$AP Ferg Talks Working With Pharrell And Madonna For His New Album

Since dropping his first album, Trap Lord, A$AP Ferg has been dabbling in fashion endeavors while also doing community service for his Harlem community. But now, the self-proclaimed Hood Pope is ready to release some new music and drop his second album.

In an interview with BBC, he revealed that it is nearly complete and is more personal than his 2013 debut.

“It is a real open diary I would say, It is my ‘rags to riches’ story, my climb to the top,” he said.

The “Work” rapper was able to snag major star power for the upcoming project, including Pharrell Williams.

“He is like a big brother figure for me, he gives me a lot of advice and drops jewels,” A$AP Ferg says.”Just that experience of me being able to be in the studio with somebody I idolized for so long was great. He changed my life with music because he showed me it was alright to be different, and make the music that you wanted to make.”

Ferg said he was also sought out by pop icon Madonna, who he says was pretty eager to get in the studio with him.

“It was just crazy because she was calling Skrillex and Diplo and all of these different people to get me in…It is kind of surreal at first, when you first get that initial call it’s like a high,” he said.

No word on the release date yet.

T.I. Under Fire Over Doe B Accusations, Fires Back

The story of Doe B is a sad one indeed and now local supporters of the slain rapper are taking their frustrations out on the Atlanta rap mogul.

On Instagram, Shaka of Cash Out Gang called out T.I. in a post that supported the claim by Perry Boi that Tip owed the dead rapper’s estate 100k.  Perry Boi is known to be one of Doe B’s closest friends when he was alive and made the initial post. Perry was also there with Doe when he was murdered in an Alabama club.

“Before all the fame, he grew up with Doe and was on his very first mixtape all the way up to doe’s last…he grew up with him,” a source told AllHipHop.com. “Perry Boi was in the club next to fighting when he got killed. When things popped off (at the time Doe was killed), Perry Boi was the first to swing a bottle at the offending crew.”

So, T.I. sees the aforementioned  post and responds:

AJ, a natives of New York’s Lower East Side, also manned the turntables for Busy Bee. He eventually retired from deejaying in 2010.

There was one DJ who had to pass the test
And now he’s down by law and he’s ready to play
That’s right y’all his name is AJ
Never gets nervous when he cuts the beat
He gives top notch service in the clutch on the street
A complete elite treat that can’t be beat
‘Cause AJ never knew the agony of defeat, sing”

Nicki Minaj’s Wax Figure To Be Removed From New York Museum

Nicki Minaj’s Wax Figure To Be Removed From New York Museum

The public simply wasn’t mature enough to have a sexually suggestive figure of Nicki Minaj.

The original statue, on display at Madame Tussauds in New York, had the rapper on all-fours and parishioners were unable to keep their hands off the wax version of the artist.

So, now a new version will be erected and put in place of the controversial figure.

Madame Tussauds said in a general statement that the artists are a part of the creative process, inferring that Nicki Minaj was fully aware how she was represented.

Harlem Legend Alpo Is Free, Reports Say

It appears that Harlem legend Alpo Martinez is headed back in the free world.

The news comes directly from Kevin Chiles, CEO of Don Diva Magazine. The magazine is one of the longest periodicals covering the drug underworld and street life in New York city and beyond.

“We were all friends [Chiles, Porter, and Martinez]. Preceding him killing Rich we were all cool on the street.  We hung out. We got money,” Chiles said in a statement. “The fact that he told on anyone is not okay for me, and there is nothing to discuss, but even if he didn’t tell, we still wouldn’t be good because he killed Rich. I’m not cool with how that went.
Alpo has not spoken directly to Chiles yet, but he sent word through a mutual friend in hopes that he could “set the record straight with him.”

Alpo, who is from Spanish Harlem, once ran the streets with Azie “AZ” Faison and Rich Porter and the trio amassed a drug empire that continues to spawn street tales to this day. The most infamous re-telling happened in the movie Paid In Full, by Roc-A-Fella Films. The trio were local celebrities in Harlem with the jewels, cars and wealth to match.

According to lore, Alpo committed a series of murders to keep his empire going, a total of 14 that he would eventually admit to. This spree included Rich Porter in 1990. He was arrested in 1991 by the feds. After his capture, he began to cooperate with authorities, which is known as snitching in the streets. Don

Don Diva explained in further detail:

Alpo’s biggest betrayal was telling on Wayne “Silk” Perry, the man who protected him on the streets, with unyielding loyalty. Alpo told the government that Wayne killed Garrett ‘Gary’ Terrell (infamous drug lord in the D.C.) and Evelyn Carter (H##### that could provide evidence Perry killed Michael Fray Salters.) On March 5, 1993, based on Alberto Martinez cooperation the feds brought a 27 count indictment against Perry. The indictment included the murders of 9 people in the furtherance of a Continuing Criminal Enterprise (CCE), racketeering conspiracy, conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine, retaliating against a witness, kidnapping, and robbery. Wayne would be the first person in D.C. to face the death penalty since 1971.

Alpo is currently in witness protection and is awaiting a new identity assignment.
Don Diva editorialized:

Throughout the streets and in hip-hop, Alpo is largely regarded as the most infamous snitch that the streets have seen, and a snake for murdering his best friend, Rich Porter. Though Alpo isn’t locked down anymore, he’s still not free. He will have to move modestly and keep a low-key profile for the rest of his life when he’s used to being bigger than life, doing what he wants in the world.
