Nick Grant Ft. Chyhi The Prynce – “Royalty”

Nick Grant grew up on a well-balanced diet of Nas, Outkast & Mobb Deep. Therefore his music is heavy on lyricism, clever wordplay & introspective content. Entertainment mogul Jason Geter quickly signed Nick to his Culture Republic imprint after the MC’s brother passed Geter a cd. “Royalty” features Chyhi The Prynce, where both rappers flow eloquently over a soulful, old-school Damon Thomas beat (Beats In My Backpack). The track is classic hip-hop & speaks of loyalty, kings, crowns & such.

Meek Mill Says He Doesn’t Regret Calling Out Drake For Using A “Ghostwriter”

(AllHipHop News) Even after he got hit with back-to-back response tracks, even after he became the butt of numerous jokes, even after the phrase “Twitter fingers” has joined the Hip Hop lexicon, Meek Mill does not regret calling out Drake for using a “ghostwriter” on his “R.I.C.O.” verse.

In an interview with GQ, Meek let it be known he still does not have any concerns about taking aim at Drizzy back in July. Mark Anthony Green asked the Philadelphia rapper and his girlfriend Nicki Minaj if they regretted their respective social media rants this summer (Minaj criticized MTV for not nominating “Anaconda” for Video Of The Year).

“I’m very happy I tweeted about the VMAs, because ‘Anaconda’ had too much of a cultural impact to not be up,” replied Nicki. “When these pop girls have a moment like that, they get nominated for every award, and they win it. And I was happy that people spoke out for me. People used their voices in the media to say this is true.”

She added, “[Meek and I are] doing so well now collectively. And I want to thank God and my fans. And his fans. We don’t have to do anything to anyone for any bogus reasons.”

Meek then offered his own 10 word overly self-confident response, “And of course you know Meek Mill don’t regret nothing.”

Preparing for the release of his forthcoming album, slab god, Texas rap legend Paul Wall has shared the project’s second single, “Crumble the Satellite.” Premiered by Noisey, who labeled the track “a woozy, guitar driven 808 monster,” Paul Wall is joined by fellow Southern rap heavyweights Devin the Dude and Curren$y for an elevated anthem of Texas lingo delivered on top of a head-bobbing beat and smooth organ vibrato. Paul Wall boasts over acoustic guitar strums, “a white cup is my holy grail” and “these Johnny Dang diamonds, they ain’t from Zales”. “Crumble the Satellite” follows XXL‘s announcement of the slab god album, which is set to release this Friday, Sept. 25th.

Jensen Kirk – “Pink Diamond Chain”

Coming off of his Jensen Kirk LP Project, LA Native gives listeners his thoughts on society and also takes shots at a few other rappers. Never the less he kills this freestyle over the infamous Big L, Jay-Z freestyle instrumental.

Cee-Lo Green – “Music To My Soul”

Only Cee-Lo knows all the things that he’s has seen over the course of his career and the past few years, this song seems to speak to that. This song captures his mood of fighting through the highs and low of life. With his success from Gnarles Barkley and then the recent legal issues, Cee-Lo knows highs and lows. “Even in darkness” as the song goes, Cee-Lo is still making music and staying positive. After all his success with his Goodie Mob family and having worked with Dungeon Family from the start this song is pretty deep as it shows a traditional New Orleans funeral and pays tribute to New Orleans music.

PREMIERE: Issa – “Live” (Produced By JessCarp)

Atlanta rhymer Issa is celebrating his born day today (September 22), but the creator of the This Summer mixtape is the one sharing a gift. The indie artist is giving his followers the new socially conscious loosie “Live.”

“Today on my birthday, which happens to be the last day of this summer, I want to do a spiritual release for my fans and supporters,” states Issa. “I introduce to you a new millennium where we all can live among each other with love.”

The track was produced by up-and-coming beat maker JesseCarp. The Baltimore native connected with Issa in the ATL.

“This is the first record we did together and the session was spiritual,” adds Issa. “She had the beat prepared before I got there. Once I put the words on top, it was history.”

After gracing the pages of several Bay Area sites and other up-and-coming blog sites, this talent is out to prove he’s more than just a typical one hit trapper turned rapper. Having frequented ATL for several years, the 25 year old rapper linked up with SODMG and instantly clicked with Soulja and his team. This song is a testament to their friendship and business relationship as part of SODMG.

Drizzy served as the DJ for the night at the restaurant’s opening while guests were served sliders and french fries. The menu is still in the early stages of development. Celebs said to be in attendance were Jaden Smith, his mom Jada Pinkett-Smith and Drake’s rumored bae Serena Williams.

Producer Sues Tyga Over Song, ‘Molly’

Tyga has been dealing with more legal woes than one man can handle and he has just been hit with another one. According to reports, a producer is suing Tyga and Universal Music Group for not paying him his royalties and for disobeying court orders to stop distributing the song.

The producer, Desmond Mapp better known as Dez Dynamic, supplied the beat for the song “Molly” from Tyga’s 2013 album, Hotel California. It was agreed that he would be paid $5,000 up front and then another $5,000 when the song was turned in for the album. Mapp claims he was never paid his $10,000 or the 3.5 percent of royalties from the album.

Mapp took T-Raww to court and the judge ruled that the contract they both signed was null and void and that the song should no longer be distributed. The ruling has not been honored and the song is still available in stores and digitally.

Now, Mapp is heading back to court for an injunction against Tyga and Universal Music Group for continuing to distribute the song. He also wants all the royalties he is owed.

Dirt Disciples ft. Torae – “Panoramic”

Dirt Disciples flip a classic rap sample on “Panoramic,” the menacing new single from the NY duo that’ll inspire thoughts about a certain Hip-Hop chef. You have to hand it to one half of this gritty rap tag team, DJ Concept. The Long Island rep provides the listener with a taste of nostalgia while injecting a brooding sensibility via a snarling bassline.

You have to love Elmira’s callback to pro wrestling’s glory days: “The Tito Santana of rap/ Hop the top turnbuckle, wave my arms, drop kick to the back/ Motherf*ckers.” The New York connection only grows stronger with a guest verse from Coney Island native, Torae. He closes out the track in high fashion, gritting his teeth and spitting bars reminiscent of Jay Z classic, “So Ghetto.” Dirt Disciples’, The Ambition EP drops October 9th via Soulspazm.

Breezy Bread – “Pull Up” (VIDEO)

In this whimsical visual for “Pull Up,” Bronx-native, Breezy Bread is momentarily stopped in traffic. While idling in his Range, the Co-Op City rapper recklessly eyeballs a beautiful blonde who’s seated in the passenger seat of a nearby vehicle. Given his juicy lips, alluring looks, and debonair personality the vixen chooses-up and hops into the truck with Breezy. Although an awkward lack of chemistry is displayed from the would-be pair, they seem to enjoy one another’s company. That is until blaring horns interrupt the fantasy and Breezy is snapped back into reality.

Stay tuned for more information on his upcoming project, J.U.I.C.E. Boyz Present Breezy Bread.

Diddy Takes The No. 1 Spot On The Forbes’ Hip-Hop Cash Kings List

Forbes has released their annual rundown of hip-hop’s highest paid entertainers. This year’s Hip-Hop Cash Kings list has familiar names but with different rankings. Diddy took the top spot this year with $60 million thanks to Sean John, Revolt TV, his water brand Aquahydrate and Ciroc vodka. Jay Z came in the second spot earning $56 million over the past year due to touring with his wife, Beyonce, his Roc Nation management company and his deal with Armand de Brignac champagne.

Drake made the highest debut of his career on the list and even snagged a higher spot than Dr. Dre, who topped the list last year. Touring gave Drizzy the financial boost, grossing almost $1 million a night during his last tour. Sales from his surprise project, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, and endorsement deals with Sprite and Nike also helped him bring in some extra coins.

Pharrell Williams Concert Protested In Cape Town

When Pharrell Williams showed up at a Cape Town venue to perform, he was greeted with about 500 protesters who weren’t too thrilled with him. They were against him performing due to his partnership with South African retailer Woolworth’s, who has ties with Israel, the NY Daily News reports.

Pharrell still hit the stage despite the protesters. He was the target of the community’s frustrations because he serves as a style director for the retailer and is also involved in fundraising for education.

Azealia Banks Calls Flight Attendant A Homophobic Slur (VIDEO)

Azealia Banks had a nasty exchange with a flight attendant and it ended with calling him a homophobic slur, TMZ reports.

After her flight from New York to Los Angeles landed, Ms. Banks made her way down the aisle to exit the plane, but was reportedly blocked by a French man who was getting his luggage from the overhead bin. According to a witness, when the “Wallace” rapper tried to squeeze by the man, he put his hand out to stop her and she became enraged. She reportedly spit on the man as well as punching him and pulling at his shirt. That’s when the flight attendant intervened, took her bag and advised her to calm down. In the video, Banks repeatedly asked for her bag and tried to take it from the attendant, who refuses to give it to her. The co-pilot then approached her and told her the police were called. She then ran off the plane, but not before she called the flight attendant a “f–king f—ot.”

Banks claims that the French man actually hit her and that’s what’s trigger her initial violent reaction.
